Error Code: 2 MEM/1/4:DIMM1/J20
There was a power surge and the following error code appeared when the Apple Hardware Test was run: 2 MEM/1/4:DIMM1/J20. The logo comes up but the system won't load. I understand that one DIMM is user installable and the other more challenging. Does anyone know what the code means and what I need to do?
Thanks,
C
Charles,
I don't really know what the error code means but I can confirm that the slot named J20 is the 'factory-installed' DIMM slot rather than the 'user-installable' SODIMM slot.
You could try working through this article (mac won't start in OS X)
If none of that works and you are happy to crack the case open (you need a set of Torx screwdrivers, this guide and some thermal paste). I'd try removing the DIMM and seeing if the iMac boots okay. If so then replace the DIMM (probably with something bigger). If the issue still persists then it is time for a visit to an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
good luck!

I have been having problems when I try to open applications such as IPhotos or Photoshop. They keep on quitting. I did the Hardware Test and it showed error code 2MEM/5/4:DIMM1/J31. Does anyone know what it means and what I should do? I do not have a warranty anymore and now I wondered if I am gonna have to get the coverage plan (my budget is tight right now). Thank you for any help you can give me.
Either the module has failed or has come loose. At this time I'd open up your computer and make sure it's still locked in place. Afterwards, no need to run the hardware test, just check with System Profiler to see if you were able to nudge it back into position.
Once in a while RAM modules do fail, but not very often.
Edit-
Since you apparently did not purchase this from Apple, it probably is still under lifetime warranty by the seller, so look up your original order number on the invoice and fill out an RMA request on the website of your supplier, or of the manufacturer (brand) itself. If they don't have a Support section or warranty or RMA section, you'll have to email them.
Put off thinking about eBay until you find out if it will be replaced under warranty.
[If you had an extra 1GB of memory, that is not going to be a bargain on eBay, as many are just now upgrading and trying to buy that size, but if you had an extra 512MB, then that is what can be found for a fraction of the price you'd have to pay for new anywhere else. If you're really lucky you can find someone with a relatively new iBook or PowerBook who might be looking to sell what hardly had any use. Caution in shipping is required, as the biggest cause of RAM failure is mishandling of the module between manufacture and packaging.] -

To enable tracing at the server, find the sqlnet.ora file for the server and create the following lines in it:
TRACE_TIMESTAMP_SERVER = ON
TRACE_LEVEL_SERVER = 16
TRACE_UNIQUE_SERVER = ON
后,本来3113 的查询可以正常出来了,但是关闭trace后,又不正常了。
Solution
问题最终定位在 CISCO ASA 防火墙的 SQLNet inspect,关闭就OK了。ORA-00600 12333 usually means there was a communications error between the client and server. If you kill a session or perform a shutdown while a users connected you could potentially get this error. There's other reasons too. I think you're probably right that Oracle support will tell you to upgrade if you file a TAR with them.
Did this error crash your database or does it happen frequently? If the answer is no then I wouldn't worry about it unless the end user has said something about it. If this is a problem then I'd contact Oracle support.
I'm also running 8.1.7.2 and get maybe 1-2 of these errors a month from the same PC. In our case this error didn't correspond with a database shutdown or a killed session. We also tried reinstalling the client software and this didn't fix it either. I think our error may be because of this one PC being on a very old part of our network that probably needs upgrading. -

hello,
i have the ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [4553], [2], [0], [], [], [], [], [] in my alert.log file. One resolution is to recreate the invalid objects, but this error is recurring frequently. In touch with oracle. has anyone faced this issue, what could be the problem?
thanks in advance.

77E64826 CALLreg 00000000hello satish,
thank you for your kind advice. the reason i posted this is because we have been having this issue for a long time. and so far its been a chicken-egg issue, maybe its hardware, or the application, or the OS, etc..etc..
so, i am looking for any experiences with the 600 error, perhaps similar to mine. -

MSI 990FXA-GD80, POST error code 54
I have just assembled a new system:
M-Board: MSI 990FXA-GD80 (UEFI BIOS with factory version E7640 AMSB50, indicated by green label on BIOS chip)
CPU: AMD Phneom II X6 1055T
RAM: 2 x Crucial DDR3 1333MHz 8GB REG/ECC
PSU: Fractal Design Newton R2 1000W PSU
GPU: Asus GeForce EN8600GT Silent/HTDP 512MB
I start the sytem and get 3 distinctive beeps from the speaker and error post code 54
I have tried the following:
1. Remove one RAM stick and start the system with just one RAM stick in slot DIMM1. Result: Same error codes, 3 beeps and post code 54
2. Removed the RAM sticks completely (in hope to get an error code indicating RAM is missing). Result: Same error codes, 3 beeps and post code 54
3. Switching the RAM sticks (DIMM1 <-> DIMM2). Result: Same error codes, 3 beeps and post code 54
4. Tried the processor on another board (ASUS) that I know works. The processor runs fine on the ASUS board.
5. Activated the "Easy Button 3" Reset button. Result: Same error codes, 3 beeps and post code 54
6. Activated the CL_CMOS button at the Back Panel. Result Same error codes, 3 beeps and post code 54
7. Clear Data position of Clear CMOS Jumper JBAT1 (with power disconnected), and the back to Keep data position. Result: Same error codes, 3 beeps and post code 54
All fans are working OK. Everything seems to be correctly connected after double checks.
Is there anything else I can do, without returning the MOBO to shop? I guess I can not update the BIOS if I do not get passed the post?
Anything else that can be wrong?
I am greatful for any initiated help.
/PhilQuote from: philip on 26-March-12, 00:41:13
No, I have not tried to boot the MOBO outside of the case. However I have come a little bit further:
I bought a less expensive memory stick of just 2GB; Kingston RMD3-1333/2G and put this in the DIMM1 slot.
With this memory the PC booted and completed the POST. This allowed me to download and flash the latest BIOS; 7640vB8 from MSI.
I then turned off the PC and re-installed the 8GB Drucial memory stick in DIMM1. I then got the original problem back.
My conclusion is that the 8GB memory from Crucial is not compatible with the MSI 990FXA-GD80 board and the Phenom II X6 processor.
If anyone have any idea how I could get my memories from Crucial to work on the MOBO I would be grateful. I have paid dearly for them.
Just saw this:

you are using the wrong memory type.
you need to use no REG/no ECC memory -

I put the system with OCGenie off and reset the system. The system reeboot and debug error code goes to A0.
But when i shut down the pc and put them on again the erro code goes to 04 again :(
I am sorry to intervene. and this should not my place to ask. I experienced the same thing with you. "Debug error code 04". I Foxconn Z77A-S users. so i am looking for a way out with searching on the internet turned out to be the same. This problem occurs after I reinstall windows, before there is no problem. PC will restart itself once the new PC is turned on might take some time (code 04) but after the restart turned into code A0 after the PC is running normally. so each would turn on my PC restarts itself changed so let A0 code. does not matter but it seems strange there.
Did you already find a way out?

Have a Powerbook G4 17" 1.57GHz BRV 4.8.4f1 Mem.1 GB HDr. ATA:3,ID:0, Ran HARDWARE Test 2.2 hit Mass Storage test area when Error Code 2STF/3/3:ATA-100ata-6-Master stopped test. Shut comp down by holding pwr button for 5 secs. Waited 20 minutes and restarted w/option button and ran test again hit Mass Storage and Error Code 2STF/8/ rest is same as previous error code. Something about Node pop up after running disk utility a few days ago. Comp is was running very slow. Only change besides updates was Macdefender. Do I need to take it to be repaired at an Apple place? Thank you.
First, you need to remove macdefender, which is a scam program. Apple note http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4650 provides these instructions:
Removal steps
Move or close the Scan Window.
Go to the Utilities folder in the Applications folder and launch Activity Monitor.
Choose All Processes from the pop up menu in the upper right corner of the window.
Under the Process Name column, look for the name of the app and click to select it; common app names include: MacDefender, MacSecurity or MacProtector.
Click the Quit Process button in the upper left corner of the window and select Quit.
Quit Activity Monitor application.
Open the Applications folder.
Locate the app ex. MacDefender, MacSecurity, MacProtector or other name.
Drag to Trash, and empty Trash.
Malware also installs a login item in your account in System Preferences. Removal of the login item is not necessary, but you can remove it by following the steps below.
Open System Preferences, select Accounts, then Login Items
Select the name of the app you removed in the steps above ex. MacDefender, MacSecurity, MacProtector
Click the minus button
Now, after you do that, reboot your system. Bring up disk utillity and verify the disk. Preferred would be to boot from OS X on DVD or a Firewire backup, run Disk Utility and Repair Disk, but verify disk when Disk Utility is loaded from the hard drive should work. Write down any messages, like bad node or whatever.
If you get a message that the program exits with a failure, then there is a disk error that Disk Utility won't be able to fix. That could mean buying Disk Warrior or TechTool Pro to fix the error. Disk Warrior tends to be the disk fix program of choice. Depending on the error, it's possible that Disk Utility won't be able to fix the problem, in which case the fix is usually a new hard drive. Note, a new hard drive will be cheaper than Disk Warrior (at $95 or so).
Smart Utility from http://www.volitans-software.com/smart_utility.php will give you good insight into the condition of your hard drive, as it reports on your SMART sensors. -
What does Apple Hardware Test error code 4MEM/1/40000000:OX3bb6b190 mean?
Mozilla kept crashing so I did the Apple Hardware Test and got error code 4MEM/1/40000000:OX3bb6b190. I reinstalled MacOs 10.4.4 (after saving the important stuff to disk of course) and it took about 10 tries to get the 2 disks installed. After the installation, I tried to update to 10.4.5, and when I restarted, the screen was blank. The only disk the computer will start with now is the No. 1 installation disk. What can I do?
Hi
A MEM error code generally indicates a faulty RAM Module. In my experience most RAM manufacturers offer at least a 5 year warranty of their RAM products. Some warranties are for 10 years. Sometimes reseating (taking it out and putting it back in again - properly) the Module will 'cure' the problem. Run AHT afterwards if you try this option first.
If you can remove the offending module and still have enough RAM to be able to do what you need to do then do so.
If not take it to your nearest Apple Repair Specialist who should fix it for you or replace the faulty module yourself and deal with the RAM manufacturer directly.
Judging by the footer to your post you don't seem to have had much luck with this model have you?

They are not error codes, but checkpoint codes.
If the system passes POST and boots into Windows, then there isn't an issue. And if you're playing games for several hours without any issues, then there is no problem.
yes bro i am experiance the minimum 1.5 hour battlefield 3 game the ultra mode fps is wawing 45 to 160 but normal 90 at 6990 strange this codes not error codes allright? okey then my system working normally?? -
I have a relatively new Macbook Pro Retina 15" and have a Western Digital 1 TB Passport. I've been using the passport for about a year now without any problems on older Macbooks in my house. I used to be able to read and write to this drive no problem. I am using the Paragon NTFS for Mac software in order to read and write to the NTFS drive. When I navigate through the drive in Finder, if I try to create a new folder, I do not have a problem. If I try to delete that folder I just created, I get this error:
The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “untitled folder” can’t be read or written.
(Error code -36)
The folder has nothing in it whatsoever. I just created it. But if I go to Terminal and I run
rm -rf "untitled folder"
This works fine. Why is Terminal acting different than Finder? This does not happen on my other Macbooks. Thanks in advance.Thanx for such qucik reply!!! The pages were great, it had an answer for my problem, but unfortunately it also involved me dealing with it only on the MacIntosh HD itself, not on mounted external drive I suppose... So it didn't work they say that there is an icon in the left corner indicating locked folder - I don't see any icon on it. It says you can untick the box to unlock the folder - there is no tick to be unticked. Finally, they say that if I don't have permition or rights I cannot delete it. But how do i change permittion which already says that i can read and write in it? So everything appears to be normal only I cannot delete it. there is not even any warnig telling me I don't have enough rights, it just requires the password and after me typing it in it makes the sound of scraping paper but does nothing more. I aslo had some problems with emptying Trash after being seemingly succesful with one file and had got so far to have them appear in the Trash (no clue how this one actully got there though..) I followd the advice and emptied the Trash with Terminal. The Folder is still there but it shows 0 Kb... So far so good BUT: It is still on the external drive, so I obviously only managed to copy it into the Trash!!! Phew, innit a bit too tight to poor owners, this macbook?? I want my rights back!
