  • My iPod Touch 8GB 3rd Gen is acting slow.

I just got my iPod Touch 8gb 3rd gen and it acts slow whenever I try to use youtube, mail, safari and whatever else that needs wi-if. I restored it twice, but no luck. What should I do?

Humor me: define slow. Slow as in a few seconds, or slow as in 30 seconds, or slow as in a minute or longer?

  • Error code 0xE800000 when connecting iPod Touch to iTunes 7.7

Since one week ago my iPod Touch 8GB was working properly with my iTunes. Then I upgraded to iTunes 7.7 and upgraded the Touch to 2.0. Now iTunes does not recognize the Touch anymore and does not connect to it. I cannot use the Touch anymore because it always tells me to connect to iTunes.
I tried to restore the Touch but nothing changes and iTunes refuse to recognize the device. Instead it responses with an unknown error (Error Code 0xE8000001). I tried all two USB 1.1 ports on my G4 400 Laptop as well as all two USB 2.0 over PCMCIA card. Always the same error.
Can anyone please let me know what I can do now to get the Touch back to work

Also getting this error and I can't seem to connect my iPhone to my laptop's iTunes. Tried re-installing iTunes but still no go.
Would appreciate any suggestion to try to resolve this issue.

  • Laggy IPod touch 8gb 3rd gen?

Why is my itouch so laggy with iOs 4? Is apple going to fix this problem?

    Hello MrWuggles,
I would first like to address that there is no true 8gb 3rd gen. Your ipod has the same hardware as the ipod touch 2nd gens but was preloaded with updated software when sold. Therefore it does not have multitasking like the other person said was your problem. Your ipod might be laggy with iOS 4 because the hardware is not as fast as the ipod touch 3rd gens(32gb/64gb) and 4th gens.
I have a 2nd gen and experienced lag using iOS 4.0 but it was definitely improved with iOS 4.1. Make sure your ipod is updated to 4.1. Then your problem should be solved. If it isn't you could always try a full restore to refresh your ipod, but this probably won't do much for you and should be used as a last effort.

  • Error code -120 when updating iPod touch 2nd gen 8GB to iOS 4.1

When i try to update my iPod Touch to iOS 4.1 it gives me an error -120 and it can't backup to the computer.

[Update and restore alert messages on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275] should be useful. I don't see error 120 specifically but I think the other info might help resolve your problem.
    Hope it helps!

  • WRT54GS to ipod touch 8GB 3rd gen

    Hello all.
Right im a bit baffled and wondered if anyone could help with this.
I am running windows xp, virgin media 20mb broadband and a Linksys wrt54gs wireless router.
After fluffing about, i restored the router to factory settings. I then re-enabled security on the router. Now the problem is the following. The ipod touch appears connected due to the tick by the wifi's name and the signal appears to be good BUT i cannot view anything ont the ipod touch. I wondered if anyone would be able to help me with this as it is for a birthday present and i want to make sure that this is all working.
    Many thanks.
P.s please be as simple as possible - im a noob!

    Thanks for the help.
I do not have anything else that is wireless in the house so i cannot try and use any other pieces of equipment.
When i put the password in, then the connection appears on the ipod touch and displays a tick next to it. I have tried to insert different passwords as well. When i do this, the ipod will say connection failed. So i know that the 1st option that im doing is good (i think).
After the ipod establishes a connection, i then try and usethe safari browser on the ipod. It looks like it will connect then says something about an invalid argument.
Will i have to change the ip of the ipod touch?
Do you know what else i can try?
If so all help would be gladly appreiciated, many thanks.

  • IPod touch 8GB 3rd Gen?

Is there such thing as a 3rd gen 8gb iPod touch? Or is the 8gig only 2nd gen. I'm asking this question because I bought a brand new itouch as a warranty replacement of my broken nano. It's only 2 weeks old and I have noticed that it's the 2nd gen model. Has the shop sold me this mistakenly as they still had a few remaining in their stock? Or is the 8gb only manufacturered as 2nd gens?
    Thanks,
    Madusha

Hi Madusha: You are correct, the 8Gb is only available in the 2nd Generation. Only the 32 and 64gB are the new and improved 3rd Gen.
    Hope this helps

When syncing iPod touch to MacBook, I have selected to sync only events newer than 360 days. Yet I get message that sync will change 8000 events on "this computer"  most of which are years old and many are recurring events.  I'm afraid to proceed with sync.

Having the same problem here. As a first time mac user, Apple has certainly made a bad first impression.
For me, the issue seems to occur when transferring files between computers that are connected to the same access point (when transferring files from wired computers on the network there is no issue). My vista laptop and every laptop I have tried has worked perfectly fine with this access point so I am 100% convinced it is the mac. Basically when I copy the files, after about 100mb, I am unable to access anything on the local network or internet until I restart Airport. The weird thing is that even though I am unable to access anything, the airport utility says it is connected. I might also note that the wireless signal strength is full.
If I can't get this figured out in a few days, this computer is going back to the store where it came from and I will officially label myself anti-mac. This type of issue is just unacceptable for something so main stream.

  • When i plug in my ipod touch (8gb, 3rd generation) it doesn't turn on and the apple logo flashes on and off. how can i stop it and turn on my ipod??????

when i plug in my ipod touch (8gb, 3rd generation) it doesn't turn on and the apple logo flashes on and off. before this it wouldn't turn on unless it was plugged in.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Replacement iPod Touch 8GB (2nd Gen) beggining to fall apart after two months!

Well my problem is plain and simple
My first iPod touch (8GB 2nd Gen) was working perfectly fine until one day it slipped from my hands and the screen shattered. I took the iPod in to Best Buy and they overlooked the serial number and looked up my plan (product replacement plan) and they took it in and sent it out. They promised me a refurbished or a new iPod touch. They said it should take only about 5 days but it took two weeks, but in all fairness it was around a busy holiday seasons so i can understand the holdup. My Apple warranty was already up when i took the first iPod in for a replacement so i just used my product replacement plan. 2 weeks later i recieved my refurbished iPod in the mail, how could i tell it was refurbished, well for one the back of the iPod was void of any scratches but there was no Apple or "iPod" branding?! They also did not include the headphones used with current and past models, they shipped headphones that were changed years ago to a new design, i tested the headphones, and they were broken. I just said oh well and when i went to plug it in with the "new" cord they included i noticed there were stains all over it and i had to disinfect them (..yuck!) it made me certainly rethink even using the headphones in the first place. One thing that seemed odd to me was that it included OS 3.0 since 2nd gen iPods only ship with OS 2.2.1 and after checking the settings i confirmed it was in fact a sencond generation iPod Touch. After about a week of use i plugged in my headphones and i could only hear through one side, i unplugged them and replugged them and the problem was resolved and i thought it was a fluke, so i just disregarded it but its been a month now and since last week no matter what headphones i use i always get sound from the left channel. I was honestly furious that after only 1 month the ipod it starting to fall apart in front of me. I inspected the iPod closely and noticed that if held a certain way the glass on the lower right coner of the iPod begins to move around. The home button has also failed to respond quite a few times. Then when one day the external speaker started to begin to become flaky and sometimes not work at all, i just said "thats it!" im currently resetting the iPod to factory settings and putting a test sound on it for them to listen to and see the problem. In fact when i received it there was already a test sound on it so i presume there was a problem with the jack previously? I am repackiging everything and am off to geek squad tommorow, if there is any other advice to offer please let me know. Ive treated the iPod like a child after the first one shattered and the device has never been dropped, the screen and the back cover are spotless (minus the small scratches on the back chrome cover just from normal use) the iPod has never been near water and i checked the iPod to see if infact water could have gotten in the iPod and the sticker was still sparkling white, i am sorry Best Buy ive been a customer for years and while do not mean to rant and complain it has only been to months and its already falling apart?! i am sorry that is just not acceptable.

I just got my ipod touch 2nd gen 8gb replacement ipod in the mail two days ago. And i fell that my screen has cracked way to easily. I had my other ipod touch before this one for a year and a half and the screen had never been cracked. But my first two days with this "replacement" ipod has cracked twice. i am willing to take the blame for the first crack as i dropped it in the street and my case didnt do its job, but lasnight i put my hand in my sweatpants pocked only to find small peices of glass. i took out my ipod and there was the problem. a large shatter on the bottom near the homebutton. Seriously 2 cracks in 2 days with my REPLACEMENT after 360+ days and no cracks with my forsure APPLE ipod touch? I doubt my ipod touch screen is even made by apple.

  • My ipod touch 8gb 3rd generation keeps dropping wifi.  I hate to reset since i've downloaded all of my itunes directly to my ipod.  Help!

My ipod touch 8gb 3rd generation keeps dropping wifi.  Doesn't matter where I am - happend ALL the time.  Almost useless now except for all of my songs!   We don't have any other problems with other computers in our house.  I have downloaded all of my songs from itunes directly to my ipod (I know, I wish I hadn't) so I hate to reset or I will lose them all.  I have never downloaded any updates (I know, I know!) so could this be my problem? How do I find downloads and what do I need?  Please help if you can!

If I reset my ipod will the wifi dropping stop?    I don't usually connect the ipod to my computer.  I charge it from the wall.  Should I be connecting to the computer instead?  Takes so much longer.  thanks for your help!
The reset may help with the WiFi issue, but you'll have to do the reset to be sure. It does seem to cure a wide variety of issues. At some point you should be connecting the iPod to your computer/iTunes account, otherwise you risk losing all of your music and other content if you have a problem with your iPod.

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.

iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.

  • I have i believe a iPod touch 8gb 2nd gen..how in the heck can i updrade it to get better apps.

    i have a i believe a iPod touch 8gb 2nd gen..how do i updrade it to get more apps

iOS 4.2.1 is the last version of iOS that a 2nd-gen iPod touch can run. If the apps you want require a newer version of iOS, then you'll have to purchase a newer-model iPod.

My iPod Touch 8GB 4th Gen, 6.1.3., has recently been crashing/going slow in a lot of applications and while typing. It's also been failing to download/save images from Google Search. I'm thinking of either restarting/rebooting it or just buying a new one. What should I do?

  • Can I do all and transfer everything from the iPod Touch 32gb 3rd gen onto an iPad using iTunes?

Can I do all and transfer everything from the iPod Touch 32gb 3rd gen onto an iPad using iTunes?

Be sure to first sync and backup your iPod Touch with iTunes. Then just sync your iPad with iTunes to transfer everything to the iPad. Be sure you are using the same Apple ID. You will now have two devices synced with iTunes on your computer.
