Error code 2330 wen installing itunes to windows vista. please help
ok so i have tried everything from repairing to uninstalling manually and still itunes refuses to uninstall or install itself. can anyone help me?
Interesting.
Okay, let's try some general principles troubleshooting with this one, then.
(1) Do you currently have a copy of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package installed on that PC? If so, try downloading the following security update:
[Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update|http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=766a6af7-ec73-4 0ff-b072-9112bab119c2&displaylang=en#filelist]
Does iTunes install for you after applying that update?
(2) If no joy there, head into your Windows Update and click on the Update History. Have a lot of Updates also been failing for you recently? If so, doubleclick on the entries for the failed updates to bring up more information on each. What error codes appear for you for the failed updates? (Precise spelling, please.)

Can't install iTunes on Windows Vista. Help?
I just got the iPhone 4S and it would not sync up because I needed the latest version of iTunes. I tried to update but it would not, so I look at some forums. I have uninstalled iTunes and all Apple related programs from my computer (Dell Inspiron 1720, Windows Vista) and restarted my computer. Now, when I download iTunesSetup, it will not even open. Help?
It can have different causes. Read this ...

there is a problem with this windows installer package.a program required for this install to complete could not be run.contact your support personnel or package vendor
can't seem to find an answer for this anywhere.id just like to add to this again.after spending the last 5 hours trying to solve this and getting no acurate help from either the apple website or microsoft website i was given the answer not by one of the many computer geeks on the internet who tell you to delete this, delete that, download this or that etc etc but by someone in the same boat as me who stumbled on it by chance.
Solution...simply click START - ALL PROGRAMES - APPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE
this will prompt you to update a file that makes your installer more compatible.click yes.once this is done a list will appear with a number of apple programes available for download.iTunes is on the list click that and it will install the latest version for you,job done.It really is that easy at last!!! -

A broken Windows Modules Installer then. It's a bit of an involved fix getting past it, but we've had success here with it in the past.
First, I'd strongly suggest setting up a system restore point.
Now try the Scenario III treatment from the following document:
Windows Update Error 80070424 in Vista
Head back into Windows Update and attempt to get updates again. If they still fail, this time with an 8000FFFF error code, try the following Microsoft document:
Windows Update error 8000FFFF
If you get Windows Updates flowing again, stock up on any you're behind on (restarting the PC when requested to do so). This may take some time and may have to be done in several batches, depending on how far you've fallen behind. Basically, keep going back to Windows Update until it stops offering you new updates.
After the updates have been installed, restart the PC one more time (in order to ensure that any pending installs requiring a restart have been resolved).
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the 0x80070424 this time? -
Trying to install iTunes for Windows Vista. Says "successfully installed," but when I try to open iTunes, I get error messages, "unable to locate componant AVFoundationCF.dll not found," then "Error 7 Windows error 126." I have tryed to reinstall twice with the same result.
Repair Apple Application Support.

I get this complicated error mesage and then the installer rolls back and fails.
I'd like to have a closer look at that error message please.
Generate the error message again. While the error message box is open, hold down the Alt key and hit the PrtSc key. Paste the screenshot into an image file (using a program like Paint), and save the file.
Start a reply here and click the wee camera icon at the top of the reply window. Click "Choose file", browse to the image file, select the file and click "Open". Now click "Insert file" to insert the screenshot into the reply. -

I have a few wedding projects(1-2 hours)I am trying to export at full hd quality, than burn in idvd. After rendering for 8hrs I receive error code that states "file is too big". Please help? compressing tips without losing quality? or any other exporting alternatives?
Hey Z,
Thank you for the tip on exporting by media browser (large) from imovie. But of course, if it's not one thing it's another. Now that I figured how to export a large file from imovie, I have an idvd issue. I followed the instructions for burning from idvd and changing the encoding to professional quality and the burn speed to x4, but I am receiving an error that states the following,
Your project exceeds the maximum content duration. To burn your DVD, change the encoder setting in the Project Info window.
Project:
- total project duration: 79:04 minutes
- total project capacity: 4.327 GB (max. available: 4.172 GB)
Menus:
- number of menus in project: 1 menus
- total menu duration: 0:39 minutes
- total menu capacity: 37.370 MB
Movies:
- total movies duration: 78:25 minutes
- total movies capacity: 4.291 GB
I have searched in the idvd forum for similar issues and I am stumped at this point. I have tried deleting the encoding assets and re launching idvd with the changed preferences, and still the same error. I know you mentioned something about free hard drive space available, and I have very little left. 4GB to be exact due to massive hours of non-edited footage. I am not sure if this is why, but I do not recall ever needing free space to burn memory onto a separate dvd. I would be more than happy if I am wrong, and it would be a quick fix. Otherwise, the technical nightmare continues. It's all a learning process and your expertise is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. -
Error Message 2330 while installing iTunes
Alright, so first I plugged in my iPod Touch this morning, and tried to update it to 3.0. iTunes said I had to download iTunes 8.2 first ,so I did, and it went through fine. I plug in my iPod, updated it. But for some reason, it said I was still on iTunes 8.1.
I restarted my comp, went to apple's website, and downloaded the latest iTunes version. When I tried to install it, it gave me the error code 2330.
Now I have done everything I can to try to get the install to go through, but its still not working.
Any suggestions?Nevermind, I got it to work.

This is caused by a permissions issue with some of the apple registry keys. You need to uninstall every apple application and fix the registry permissions. I have written up the details of this below which I am sending to Apple support:
Issues with Iphone Sync on Windows 7 64x after migration
1) Uninstall all Apple Software components in the order recommended
a. Itunes
b. Quicktime
c. Apple Software update
d. Apple mobile device Support (Note: If this does not uninstall – It could be related to Registry permissions. Make sure to do Step 4)
e. BonJour
f. Apple Application Support
2) Verify all Itunes Related components are completely uninstalled (Refer to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923)
3) Try to Reinstall Itunes
4) If you receive Error during install : Cannot Open Key: UNKNOWN Components/
a. Get into the registry Start >> Search Programs and Files >> Regedit
b. Access the following Location: HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Co mponents
c. Perform the following actions
i. Right Click on Components Folder
ii. Select Permissions
iii. Select Full Control and Read Permissions options
iv. Select Advanced Button
v. Select Owner Tab
vi. Select to Change Owner to the Administrators
vii. Check the option “Replace owner on subcontainers and objects”
viii. Select OK when prompted that it may not change all.
ix. Select Apply
x. Select Apply again
xi. Exit the Registry Editor
5) Reinstall Itunes
Good Luck
