Error code : 2STH/1/3: CPU A AD7417 AD1 What does it mean?

I get this error code while running AHT on my G5.
2STH/1/3: CPU A AD7417 AD1
AppleCare didn't have an answer immediately, I have to call back in a while. They guess it has something to do with the thermal management.
Anybody out there who can give me a little more info?
thx!

AHT is a static program written on a read only medium. However Apple makes OS and firmware changes which render versions of AHT obsolete which if you run a older version sometimes you'll get errors.
Not to say this is your particular problem, but it might be, so make sure first before spending the time and effort sending/delivering your machine somewhere just to find out nothing is wrong.
Best to call and talk to a top brain at the Genius Bar first, they know what version is good for what OS/machine version.

  • My imac8,1 has an error code of 4HDD/11/40000004:SATA(0,0) what does this mean and where or how can i get this fixed?

I need my computer although it is old i bought it in 2008, i just can not afford a new computer. Could someone possibly tell me the meaning of my error code?

The error shows a problem with the hard drive, and as it says SATA, it may be related to the SATA connector of the hard drive or the logic board. I recommend you to take it to an Apple Store or reseller to get it diagnosed, so you will know what the problem is and they will provide you a solution. If the problem is in the logic board, this may be an expensive repair

Did you already check your security software settings?

Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

Hello! Just wanted to ask what does it mean more exactly when the error in muti language to restart my mac appears to my desktop ?

    Hello ioanaroxy,
In rare situations, your Mac may spontaneously restart, turn off, display a message "You need to restart your computer…", or become unresponsive, indicating a kernel panic has occurred.
I recommend reviewing the following article for more information about kernel panics and how to troubleshoot kernel panics.

  • Apple Hardware Test Error Code     " 2STH/1/2:CPU A AD7417AD1 "

    Hi All,
I have a G5 2.5 GHz dual processer that seems to work fine after 14 months. But when I run the Apple Hardware Test, I get the error message listed in my subject above. I talked to Apple and took the machine in for service. Servicer said get the latest upgrade of the AHD and try it instead of one that came with my machine. After some work (a good bit), I got Apple to send me the upgrade and when I run it, I still get the same error code! Does anyone have any suggestions? I could sure use them. Thanks,
    Chuck

  • I got the error 4SNS/40000001:VDOR on a 2006 iMac (white), what does it mean?

    Dear all,
yesterday I notice a whitish stripe (3-4 cm) in the middle of the monitor of the iMac I use at work. The machine is an old white iMac (Intel), 21 inches I think, and was purchased in 2006. Today the stripe was already there, the hardware extended test returned the error 4SNS/1/40000001:VDOR . The machine is apparently working fine. What does this error mean? How soon do I need to contact the Apple Store in my city?
    Thanks a lot,
    Marco

That is a voltage sensor error probably on the power section of the logic board. It should not cause a video defect.
How soon do I need to contact the Apple Store in my city?
According to the MacTracker database, that old an iMac is considered "vintage" by Apple and therefore they will no longer work on it. I had a 2007 MacBook Pro fail earlier this year and was told the same thing. You would have to seek a Mac-savvy, third-party service provider.
The stripe is likely a problem somewhere in the video hardware and those are seldom picked up by Apple Hardware Test. To see if the problem is on the logic board (not worth fixing) or confined the the display itself (maybe worth fixing), attach an external monitor (an adaptor may be required). If the stripe does NOT appear on the external monitor, its in the video cabling, the inverter, or the display itself. If the stripe shows on the external, the video hardware on the logic board is failing.
Neither is a cheap repair--probably more than the approx US$300-450 value of first-gen Intel iMacs†---and your firm may consider retiring that unit after backing up the hard drive contents.

  • How do I fix my VI when error -1074000000 and -213 "Init ignored" comes up and what does it mean?

When I run Test Main 002.vi in debugging mode, this error continues to pop up.  I am finding and recording the voltages for a Keithley 2700 multimeter.  I have Test Main 002.vi call on Read Volt.vi and this VI calls on Configure Volt Task.vi.  I got most of the functions used by the latter two programs from the Keithley 27XX driver.  Everything there seems to work fine.  All the example codes given by the Keithley 27XX software run just fine and give good values.  When I look at everything in debugging mode, there seems to be a value that appears for voltage but then the error pops up.  No error is given anywhere else.  Could anyone let me know where my error in the programs is and how to fix it?  Thanks.

Yes, I did mean highlight execution.  It was not able to work when it was run normally.  I did fix the problem though.  The problem is that the boolean attached to Initiate.vi (given as a function from the instrument drivers) that drove the "continuous initiation" was set to true and it needed to be set to false.  After I did this, I was able to get to program to work just fine.  I have been able to run it for several hours now without any hiccups.
Another option I found was to be able to unbundle the error cluster attached to the Read Volt.vi in my Test Main 002.vi under the acquire case and force the boolean to be false such that it would ignore the error.  It was not the best way to do it but it was a work around.
    Thanks.

If you were using Apple's BootCamp and received this message, quit it and open Disk Uility in your Applicaitons/Utilities folder.
Select the Macintosh HD partition on the left and select Erase and Erase Free Space > Zero option and let it complete (important) this will check the spare space for bad sectors that can cause issues formatting partitions.
Once it's completed, try creating a partiton again in BootCamp.
If that doesn't work, then hold command option r keys down while connected to a fast internet connection, Internet Recovery should load (spinning globe) and then in that Disk Utility, select your entire internal drive and click > First Aid > Repair Disk and Permissions.
    reboot and attempt Bootcamp again.
If you still get a error, it might be that you have OS X data on the bottom area where BootCamp partition needs to go. This would occur if you had the drive or computer for a long time or wrote a large amount of files to the drive and nearly filling it up and then reduced some, but it left traces in the area BootCamp needs to go.

Whenever I click on firefox, or when a pop-up occurs, I get a java script error that says, "TypeError: Components.classes[TvtPwmComponent_CID] is undefined". I don't know why. It first occurred while I was on ESPN while trying to watch college games live.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

    Hi Eric,
    Side note.
com.apple.iChat.StatusMessages.plist  only holds the default and Saved Status Messages.
Deleting it does not effect the running of the app.
Deleting com.apple.ichat.plist first can be the most invasive as you have to reset any Preferences (and some Menu items) that you have changed from defaults
If the person only has an iMessages account deleting the com.apple.imservice.imessages.plist  (holds the iMessages ID in Mountain Lion) maybe enough
The account info is held elsewhere  but this is read by com.apple.IMAgent.plist to login.
    Next try the com.apple.imagent.pist one
As above All the accounts info is held elsewhere but this one is actually handling the logins.
It is of course doing all of then in Messages and FaceTime so it is not a first choice.
Deleting com.apple.imessage.bag.plist can be useful as this has  info on the Server your version of Messages is using.
I would delete this along with com.apple.imservice.imessages.plist on a second attempt.
Hope you don't mind me adding the info.
