Error code 313, can't re-download purchased music, weird noise when clicking any link in itunes

So I just transfered my music from one computer to another using a external hard drive. When I went to the store I noticed a "swiping" sound (the sound you would hear when wiping glass basically) when ever I clicked any of the buttons in the store. Music, books, purchased...and it's only in iTunes. When I try to re-download songs from the purchased section it takes forever to load then says error code 3131. I tried downloading the newest version of itunes and then restarting my computer but neither helped.
I have a toshiba satellite that runs Windows 8.
Please help me!

FWIW, my problem downloading previously purchased music from iCloud appears to be resolved.  To clarify my issue, and also to differentiate it from similar issues:
My error code was not 3131; “(3131)” appears at the end of the error message that was popping up when I tried to access purchased music.  An Express Lane tech verified that I was receiving error 3259 (although this didn’t appear on-screen).
I have two machines but only one Apple ID, have not yet installed Lion, and purchased all of my music by individual song (no albums).
What I did:
Boot in Safe Mode
Ran Disk Utility
Installed latest version of iTunes (10.4)
Re-booted in Safe Mode (which disables anti-virus software and other utilities such as Little Snitch)
Turned off Firewall temporarily
Launched iTunes
When I launched iTunes in Safe Mode, my Purchased items did show up and I was able to download several songs.  I rebooted in normal mode, turned Firewall back on and re-enabled Sophos Anti-Virus, Little Snitch, and the adware/malware programs I usually run; I’m still able to see and download my Purchased music (as well as apps and books).
I don’t know what really “fixed” the problem, but the Express Lane tech suggested that firewalls, web accelerators, ad filters or virus protection software might be involved.  Express Lane wasn’t very “Express;” it took a week and a half and several complaints to get things moving.

  • Time machine restore - can't re-download purchased music

My HD on my iMAC recently failed.  Installed a new HD and restored from time machine - all is well.
Except - I had purchased 3 albums after the last time machine backup.  In iTunes - iTunes Store if I search for those albums they show I purchased them.  However, they do not appear in the iTunes - Purchased folder.  I right clicked the Purchased folder and chose "check for available downloads" - nothing is found.
I am logged in with my Apple / iTunes ID and that is the same ID that was used to purchase the albums.
Accessing those albums is normal on my iPhone6 and iPad Air, but I can't find a way to re-download them to my iMac.

  • I fixed my error 403 through McAfee; could not download purchased music

I've been searching this forum to find a solution to my error 403 problem I kept getting when I try to download music I purchased on iTunes.
If you are running McAfee Security Center, click on the link below, then go down to "solutions." Add those two items to your Privacy Service "Allow List," and see if it solves this problem for you.
I was so aggravated before I found this solution. Hope it helps someone else, too!

  • Can no longer download purchased music from iTunes

I keep getting this message: There was a problem downloading. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation. Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again.
My connection is fine and this just started happening out of the blue. Can someone offer some direction here?

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

  • Help, i get the 'error downloading purchased music.' what do i do?

i can download music and podcast fine but when i try to purchase a tv show i get the error message "there was an error downloading purchased music. the disk could not be read from or written to" i went to the purchases command in the advanced menu several times with no luck. i have purchased three seperate shows and get the same message. i'm tired of wasting money and would like some help.
    thanks

Hmm... I've never seen a issue exactly like this before personally, but usually you get the "Disk Locked" error when installing iTUnes or adding anything, songs or videos to iTunes folder. go here and follow the instructions http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302398
You may have to uninstall/reinstall iTunes AND quicktime if this does not work. Uninstlling iTunes DOES NOT delete any music, playlist, ratings ect ect

  • Error (-50) When Trying To Download Purchased Music

    Hello -
I recently upgraded to iTunes 7.0.1. Since then, I cannot download purchased music. I get the following error message:
There was a problem downloading X (name of song). An unknown eror occurred (-50).
I have never had problems downloading purhcased music before. Is there a known bug/issue with 7.0.1?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I am having the SAME PROBLEM and it's driving me NUTS! I couldn't find an answer here so I emailed iTunes support. Here is what they said:
The error you describe may be caused by the presence of web
acceleration or firewall software. While the iTunes Store is unable to provide
technical support, I can recommend that you either test your connection to
the iTunes Store without the presence of this software or configure
your system to allow access to the iTunes Store's address.
However, I'm not sure that is my problem because my computer is new, (I have a macbook), I haven't downloaded any kind of software other than software updates from apple, I use safari, and my roommate has no problem d-loading onto her computer. Also, the album I purchased comes with an interactive booklet and that downloads without a problem. So, I don't know. I just emailed them again and I'll respond to this thread if I get a solution. Otherwise, please let me know if you figure it out!

  • Error messages everytime itunes tries to download purchased music

We got a new computer recently, and on our old computer I believe we had itunes 5, and we had a 30 gb 5th gen that we downloaded purchased music onto. we can only get dial up connection where we live, and we never had an issue downloading, it just took awhile.
Now that we have our new computer, we also added an 80gb to the newer itunes (7?) we put on the new computer. I have purchased 3 songs, and everytime i try to download them, it says the network connection has timed out, or to check the network connection, etc. Not even a snippet of the song gets downloaded. It pretty much immediately goes to the error message.
Is itunes 7 set up to only be used with a broadband connection to download? Our internet connection is never the issue. Its pretty irritating to have songs ive purchased and not be able to put them on our ipods.
Any help would be appreciated, as im not too computer literate, and i cant figure this out.

  • Error -42018 Cannot Download Purchased Music from iTunes Store

I cannot download music, it says unknown error -42018 check network connection and try again. I can download videos just fine, but music. This has never done this before. I downloaded music before just fine. I turned off my firewall but no luck. Please help resolve!!!

    Hey everybody,
I also was experiencing the unknown error -42018 when attempting to download purchased music. Additionally, I was stuck in an endless authorization loop when attempting to play previously purchaed music. All this started when I installed the latest iTunes software 7.0.2.
I run windows XP Pro, and unlike the majority of users I actually set it up correctly with a dedicated administrator account, and regular user accounts instead of just running as admin all the time. For me, that was the cause of the problem.
The new version of iTunes software required FULL CONTROL privilages on the iTunes and iPod install directories for all user accounts that were using the program. (Previous versions worked fine, so this is a new thing.) Once I provided those permissions, iTunes worked correctly. Follow this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040 for information on how to provide FULL CONTROL to every user account.
I hope you all find this helpful in solving your problem.
    Good Luck,
    Bill

  • Can't download purchased music to video iPod

I can't download purchased music and videos to my new 30GB video iPod.
When I try to copy videos or purchased I get an error "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close" and iTunes quits after I close the dialog.
I ran the iPod Updater 2006-01-10 and Restored my iPod. I can download mp3s and a video I created in QT Pro but not purchased music or videos.
I uninstalled all previous iPodSetup installations, iTunes, QuickTime, rebooted and deleted the iTunes prefs file at:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info\SC Info.sidb
I reinstalled iPod Updater 2006-01-10 and iTunes 6.0.2 and rebooted.
    The problem remains.
