Error Code 39 returned by core audio driver

Any idea what this is, it doesn't give me any other information. It comes within 2 seconds of playing my audio. I have a lot of stuff on there, but I also have a Big powerful Mac G5. I increased the buffer size, that didn't do anything. It doesn't crash, just won't let me do anything until I press continue, then comes up 2 seconds later.

I have had the same happen to me. I did a search on the forum and the best I could find is that it isn't really listed anywhere what it means.
I think it means that Core Audio needs to catch up. When this happens to me, I just hit return so that it starts playing again from the beginning.
I have to ask, do you have a million (exaggeration) little regions in your Arrange window? Logic doesn't handle all those tiny pieces that well, so if you do you might consider making them into one big region to ease the load on Logic....
Hope that helps, and welcome to the forum.

so I have a 75 minute continuous dj mix I recorded onto garageband... after having recorded this I then converted the file from a 120bpm to a 60bpm speed so as to fit it all in... now, however, towards the end (between 65-70 minutes into it) the mix suddenly is interuppted by a crude digital-type sound. a pop up then says "error code-39 with or in core audio driver"....
    what gives here?
I'd appreciate any help you can give.
    peace.

does this mean I have to re-record the audio file?
Probably. I guess you could try a commercial disc repair program like TechTool Pro or Disk Warrior, but odds are if the file system can't figure out where the end of file is, the file is hosed --Hang B-(>

  • Error Code -1 Returned by core audio driver-Please help!

I can't open GB3, each time I try, it gives this message error: Error Code -1 Returned by core audio driver
    What can I do?
Intel 2.16, OS: Leopard, and I use Guitar Rig 2 which work fine.

There is no such thing as a G5 Intel.
Error -36 is an "I/O error", could mean a lot of things, you should give more details:
    • Does this happen during recording or playback?
    • Does it happen again if you re-open the project/re-start GB?
    • Does it happen with other projects too?

  • Error code -1 was returned by core audio driver

Hello everyone,i have logic pro 7 fully registered and all of a sudden when i try and open any of my songs i get an error message.error -1 was returned by core audio driver?and battery is the only plug-in that has a line through it and it will not open?i rebooted, even tried to open a brand new autoload and everytime i try to load in battery i get the same error message? If anyone has a clue, cause i dont

Try uninstalling 'battery' (I'm unfamiliar with that plug-in) & seeing if you still get error messages. If not, re-install 'battery'; but if the errors recur, you'll have to remove it again.
N.B.: check the installation instructions first; manually removing the obvious components may not be sufficient (you may need to run the installer & select 'uninstall').

  • Error Code -36 Returned by core audio driver-Please help!!!!

8:03 into my new song and all of a sudden I get a pop up that says "error code -36 was returned by the core audio driver" I click it off and the track continues to play looping 3 seconds of the same thing over and over again as the track continues over what should be correctly playing.
This is in garageband 08' on an up to date G5 intel with plenty of space and NO locked tracks. I also ran disk utility and nothing has helped.
Any idea what is happening and how to save my song?
    Thanks for any help!

  • How to access error description in a string from error code returned by NI-DAQ driver?

I am tring to write codes to control NI-6703 for PCI using the NI-DAQ driver for C++.
In the sample codes, it calls "NIDAQErrorHandler" to retrieve the error description and display in the pop-up message box. The method is included with header file "nideqex.h", and implemented w/ the nidex32.lib
I would like to get the error description in a string rather than getting a message box. Is there a way to do that? Am I missig something here?
I managed to find the "NIDAQEx.c" source code on the internet, but it seems like the code is outdated, and the library is NOT really compiled from it, since it does not seems to have a call to any method that will return th
e error description in a string that got used to be displayed in the message box.
Is there a method that I can call and pass a error code, which will return the error description in a string?

There is a function documented in dataacq.h called GetNIDAQErrorString that accomplishes what you would like.

  • Error code -1 returned by core audio

    hi,
i recently installed the east west symphonic orchestra platinum edition to use with logic pro, and packed 2 GB extra RAM into my power mac g5. however, logic keeps crashing a few minutes into using it, though up until then it seems to work fine. every time, the message 'error code -1 returned by core audio driver' pops up. any ideas why? i am not a huge technophile so any advice in simple terms would be greatly appreciated...
    cheers,

  • "error code -1 was returned by the core audio driver" battery multi?

working on a track with NI's battery 3 loaded as a multi, eveyrthings fine. next day come to open the project and i get the following message:
"error code -1 was returned by the core audio driver"
everything is fine with the project except that in the channel where battery is loaded, the plugin name (where you insert the plugins) has a line strike through it, and the GUI wont open when you double click it?
i tried re-loading the plugin as a multi instrument but get the same error message, but it loads fine as just a stereo or mono plugin.
    any ideas??
    thanks in advance.

I just did a search using "search discussions" using the term:
    "-50"
(use the quotes, because they're important when doing this kind of search)
It returned a lot of hits, and apparently you're not alone in wondering what this error means. Lots of people reporting it as an error in iTunes, and also something related to 10.4.9. But in the event no one here answers your question, I suggest you do the search yourself, slog through the results, and see if anyone's come up with an explanation that fits your scenario.

  • Error code 25974 was returned by the core audio driver?

hello, well ive been having a problem trying to record one of my dj sets directly from my mixer.
This is my set up: My dj equipment is conected via my mixer to an m-audio ozone midi keyboard (1 stereo in 1/4 TRS jack), this keyboard is connected via usb to my computer (imac g4), and im using logic express 7.0.1 as my recording software.
When i start recording, everything is working ok, i can see the signal on my
m-audio keyboard, and i can see the signal on logic, on one of the audio tracks.
But then, logic gives me an error message:
"error code 25974 was returned by the core audio driver."
and then the signal goes out, and i cant finish my recording session. The portion of the recorded set until the error, is perfect, but i need to be able to record the whole session.
i hope i made my self clear. any help!!! thanks a lot

  • Error Code 25974 was returned by the Audio Driver - Logic/MBOX

    Hi,
I know this question has been asked before but could not find a resolution to this problem.
I'm using a MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012) with a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 processor, using OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2) and running Logic Pro 9.
I've been using the AVID MBOX interface for some time now and it hasn't failed me yet, but today I received the error message 'Error Code 25974 was returned by the Audio Driver' when selecting it as the input/output device.
I'm not sure why this is now happening as the interface drivers are up to date and as I said, it was working earlier in the week when I last used it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Bump,
This is only happening with one particular project ... I imagine it could have become corrupted somehow, yet I can still work on the project and edit it. I just can't bounce it! Any ideas as to what I can do?

  • Error code 1 was returned by the audio driver :(  randomly!

hey all! ive been getting this messege "error code 1 was returned by the audio driver" almost every time i try and merge tracks, bounce track in place, bounce region in place, or mixdown stereo regions per tracks. NOT when i do a real song bounce though. i feel like im noticing my computer is taking a long time to copy audio files into logic projects...i dont know if they are related though. but this error code 1 thing has been hapening CONSTANTLY. the thing is...nothing has changed. i havnt installed or changed anything on my system. its happening on ALL of my old projects, and MOST of my new ones. ive tried disabling all third party AUs and it still happens. do i have bad ram? a bad drive? do i need to reinstall everything? thanks so much in advance!

Ok, I don't know if this solves your problem... but as for what was triggering the 'Error code 1' message on my computer... Here's the update.
After much troubleshooting, the cause of this error in my setup was the Highpoint RocketRaid 2314 eSata PCIe card.
The Highpoint RocketRaid driver is included in OS X 10.8 with no additional drivers / installers to run. However, it isn't compatible with the old driver when upgrading the kernel (ie. 10.6 - 10.8)
I was bouncing to an external drive connected through eSata to the RocketRaid PCIe card... error message. Time Machine backup connected through eSata... error message. The drives were being dismounted rudely, or losing connection momentarily and reconnecting, resulting in the error messages.
Here are the instructions from Highpoint tech support to manually uninstall the embedded driver, and then reinstall the old Snow Leopard driver for use in Mountain Lion (10.8)... which works as it's suppposed to.
    1.  Go the folder System > Library > Extensions >, look for the file HighPointRR.kext and delete that file.
    2.  Second, download the driver from the link below, then run the Un-install script to remove any previous installed driver.
    http://www.hptmac.com/productfiles/bios_driver/hptrr-mac106-driver-v11...
Then re-install the driver, but do not reboot or restart the system.
    3.  Third, download the webGUI from the link below. And run the un-install script to remove any previous installed web GUI.
    http://www.hptmac.com/productfiles/WebGUI-Mac-v168-091120.dmg
Then re-install the web GUI and reboot after installation is complete.
Once the system has booted up, open a browser and type URL to log into web GUI.

  • Error Code 1 was returned by the Audio driver

Whenever I try to export a podcast to MP3 - using good quality, I get multiple errors. A little box pops up saying "Error Code 1 was returned by the Audio driver".
In the saved file there is a short one second pause wherever that particular error has shown up.
Has anyone experienced this error and knows of a solution? I am utterly clueless, not very experienced with Garageband at all...
    Thank you in advance!

I'm getting this too, for the first time. I've got a project that I've used to publish a monthly podcast with and I've been opening, editing, and saving this project for a couple of years now.
Now, with GB '09, I'm getting this error. Not pleased.
