Error code 4450

My client is receiving error code 4450 while trying to burn CDs. He has the latest Itunes and is using CD-R media. He said he tried CD-RW as well. After some time of reading on the forums I found that this is a hardware specific problem affecting LG CD-RW CED-8080B, Rev 1.04 model CDROM drives.
As recommended I went through the suggested step of lowering the write speed. Like the others with this problem, it was not fixed. Are there any known workarounds for this? Maybe a firmware update or something? If not then I'll just put in a DVD/CD write for him.

Is the purchased music authorized? If so, the next two things to try are dropping the burn speed & changing the brand of CD's you're using to burn. CD burners have been known occasionally to get "fussy" about the type of media that's being used.

I have Windows 7 on a Dell. Open and play iTunes in the compatability mode and use Windows XP (service pack 2). Disregard any messsages to disable the compability mode. This has worked for me. I have also reinstalled iTunes and played with burn speeds etc. These ideas did not work. Compatability mode works.

Hi, I used to always be able to burn CDs on my computer with iTunes fine and now I keep getting error code 4450 right after the 1st song begins to burn. My computer is not even one year old yet! Yes, here it is... but I have used this same pack of cd's to burn many times before. so i do not think it is the cd, i dont know if that information helps or not...

TS1436 Trying to burn a cd disc and receive error code 4450. What is this error code?

When burning a CD disc, The progress bar doesn't move and then I get an error code: 4450. My computer freezes up and no functions will work. I rebooted and downloaded the latest iTunes update but still receive error code 4450. Anyone have suggestions for me. Thank you for your response.

Somewhere in the process of burning I get a "error code 4450" and the bur fails.
This happens on anything I try to burn with I-tunes.
I removed and re-installed I-tunes. And I can burn Cd's with my other burning programs but not I-Tunes????

How do i fix error code 4450

i have tried several different brands of cd's, slowed down the burn speed below 8x and uninstalled/reinstalled itunes.
I got a new PC - windows 7 and it keeps giving me error code 4450... it NEVER happened on my old computer....
i've emailed Apple but nothing yet...

WELL.... i decided to try to burn my cd in Windows Media and it worked fine!!! So weird!!! So, it's definitely something in iTunes I'm sad because I've used itunes for all my music / video / movie needs for YEARS - ever since the first generation ipod came out! I love iTunes, but not since I got my new PC in December!
I love my apple products (iphone, ipad, ipod touch) but have to say that Windows Media Player has resolved my problem (thank God!!!!) and it's acutally very cool with Windows 7 - and it's very easy to navigate!

It seems you know more than the support team from itunes...they keep blaming my cd drive, when the drive works for everything else. Do I need Matchmusic? cause I gave it the boot.

It is hard to credit that you haven't been able to get it fixed.
I had a problem close to 11pm one night and phoned the technical help line and got through in two minutes and got it resolved. I must confess I have never had a problem getting through. Getting the right phone number for the right department can be a bit hit and miss I grant you.

I just tried to reduce the speed the drive it self and I still got error code 4280...I don't know wuts going on because I can't burn anything in windows media player either.
that's not an especially good sign. i get worried about 4280s because they can sometimes indicate a hardware problem in the drive. (for example, belladonna started throwing them at me when her Lite-On drive started to die.)
we'd better check to see if you're properly up to date before checking on that possibility though.
i had a look at your downloads page at HP. (thank you kindly for including your model number in your system information.)
Software & Driver downloads: HP Pavilion dv2125nr Notebook PC (XP)
there's nothing there by way of new firmware for the drive that is throwing the 4280. but there are a few other downloads of interest.
check to see if that HP Notebook System BIOS update is applicable to your particular configuration of dv2125nr, and if so, make sure you're up to date.
check to see if that new AMD Processor Update for Microsoft Windows XP is applicable to your configuration, and if so make sure you're up to date with it.
check to see if your NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 Graphics Driver is up to date.
once you're satisfied that you're up to date, do you still get the 4280?
