  • Error Code 80073712 after Windows update.

I have yet another error code when Windows issued yet another automatic update.  This time it is #80073712.
I have gotten so many of these now, as Windows automatic updates download but fail to install.  Might this be because I am using Mozilla Firefox for my browser?
PLEASE....I've had dozens of updates fail to install, and I keep getting more and more different error code numbers.  Will there ever be any help on any of them?????

  • Error Code 61499 after license update (FPGA)

    Hello,
I am a fairly experienced FPGA module user.  I have LabVIEW 2009 installed (9.0.0) including the FPGA module on a 32-bit XP system.  Everything was working fine, and I had one particular FPGA project that had been built and run within the last month or so.
In the meantime, the license had expired, so I had to update the license.  After updating the license, I made a trivial change to the VI (changed default values of some front panel inputs), and attempted to compile and execute.
This generated Error -61499, with the additional information:
Error starting compile step: Make sure a compatible version of Xilinx Tools is installed at the location specified in the LabVIEW installer.
I looked at post Error -61499 in LabVIEW FPGA  and a few other posts.  I checked the LabVIEW FPGA registry key compile path and it looks fine (C:\NIFPGA2009\Xilinx\ISE).  That directory exists and is the right size (3.74 GB).  A temporary directory is being created in C:\NIFPGA2009\srvrTmp\localhost .  I searched for the file pearl58.dll but couldn't find it.
When I look at the recently installed license and the expired license in NI License Manager, I don't see any differences between the two other than the expiration date.
Summary:  I had a working installation and project, updated the license file, and now get error -61499.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Here is some more information.  I found the toplevel_gen_xst.log file in the C:\NIFPGA2009\svrTmp\localhost\[temp] directory.
It appears that some things are getting compiled.
At the end of the log file it says:
ERROR:HDLParsers:3264 - Can't read file "C:/NIFPGA~1/srvrTmp/LOCALH~1/SCANCO~1/NiFpgaAG_XNode0000001b.vhd": No such file or directory
If I can figure out what that node is I'll try deleting it and regenerating it.

  • Windows Update / WSUS failing with Error Code 80070005

I have a small network (~40 systems) that I use WSUS to keep up to date.  Because of errors I was getting, I elected to rebuild my WSUS server, which is running Windows
2012R2 and WSUS is the only thing running on that server.  However, now none of my clients can receive updates from the WSUS server even though they will connect to the Microsoft Update site and download/install without a problem.  Any time I try
to install updates from the WSUS server, Windows Update says that it needs to “Install new Windows Update software”.  When I click the “Install now” button, it closes and reopens the window and then report error code 80070005, which I know is an access
denied.  The WindowsUpdate.log also reports the same error code and also indicates a reboot is required, even after I reboot the client.  I’ve run Process Monitor and am not able to see where the access denied is even coming from.  WindowsUpdate.log
file information available upon request.  Any help would be appreciated.

Because of errors I was getting, I elected to rebuild my WSUS server
I suggest we start back at this point.
What errors were you getting, and what exactly did you do to "rebuild" your WSUS server?

  • Windows 7 Update Error Code 80070005

I've been trying to update windows 7 for a while now. I've looked up every way possible, and every time i shutdown and tries to configure, it fails. then i check and see the error code 80070005. i know that this means that i dont have permission. im on
the administrative account, ive tried my best uninstalling any third party programs and still nothing.

    Hi,
The error code 0x80070005 is also described as "ACCESS DENIED." You may receive this error if you don't have the appropriate permissions to install a particular update. This can also happen if malware is on your computer.

  • CC app manager update  failed with error code 50 after reaching about 35%

Trying to update the CC app manager. The update is always very slow  (I have ATT DSL, lowest level) and I usually terminate it after an hour or so. Today I let it run and it failed with error code 50 after reaching about 35%. Any ideas?

Update to my original post. I read through some of the suggestions that I found in other threads for fixing this problem, and it appears that this has been an ongoing issue. Numerous fixes have been suggested, some very convoluted, difficult, and involved, including those that came from the customer support folks.  I passed on those as this should be something simple. How Adobe manages to let updating of their own software turn into an ongoing problem is beyond me and sort of defeats the purpose of subscribing. I then noticed that a simple fix had been suggested a few times, so I tried that.
The user suggested fix that worked for me was:
    1) Restarted computer (Asus Windows 7 i3 machine for me) in Safe Mode with Networking. Logged into my separate Admin account just in case.
    2) Started the creative cloud desktop app.
    3) The app said it needed to be updated. I hit the update button.
    4) Update started and proceeded slowly as it had in many previous failed attempts (I have ATT DSL at the slowest level, but it is not dial-up). Within about 30 min, the update succeeded.
    5) Restarted computer in normal mode.
    6) The creative cloud desktop app now did not say it needs to be updated, and I can update my other apps normally. Have not updated LR or PS yet, but plan to try. If that fails, I may try doing it in the Safe Mode with Networking.
So, that was relatively painless and much much simpler than many of the other suggestions I saw. Do not know if it will work for everyone, but I wanted to post the fix that worked for me. Thank you very much to the 2 or 3 users who had suggested this fix earlier (sorry, I did not write down your IDs, but the threads can be found by searching for creative cloud desktop update fail error code 50). Hope this saves some people a lot of time.

  • Error code -42404 after the 10.4.1 update

Anyone getting the error code -42404 after installing the 10.4.1 update? It appears when I open the itunes store, and tells me to restore my ipod to original settings. I've tried reinstalling and I still get the error. I'm running windows 7 64-bit.

Yes I have 10.5.1.42 and Win7 x64 and have just started getting the same error when iTunes starts up today - although I think iTunes has not updated for a while?
I have just restored my iPhone 4S to a 3GS backup this morning, and now I see this error and am unable to sync with the iPhone - I was able to do this last week.
Have reinstalled iTunes as it suggests but this has not fixed it.

  • Error Code 80070005 when attempting to install KB2931356

After confirming that I am not an active victim of a virus or malware, I disable my Avast AV software and once again received Error Code 80070005 when trying to install Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008
    R2 SP1 for x64-based Systems (KB2931356).
When I attempted to implement the solutions described in http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/61ce9777-aaac-41b5-ac02-eae76759d1d3/windows-update-error-80070005 and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968003/en-us, which are slightly
different, I received the following output immediately after running the respectively prescribed Reset file.
I know not what to do next!
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    Jim

    Yolanda,
Thank you very much for your concern and your assistance!
Unless you instructor otherwise, I will implement the following steps:
    1. Download the System Update Readiness Tool from http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/what-is-the-system-update-readiness-tool and run.
    2. Shutdown PC.
    3. Start PC.
    4. Disable Avast Free A/V SW.
    5. Install Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 for x64-based Systems (KB2931356).
    6. Post outcome here.
    7. If install fails, upload the cbs file (windows\logs\cbs) and windows update log (%windir%\Windowsupdate.log) here for further analysis.
Thank you, again, for helping me.
    Sincerely,
    Jim Kochanski
I followed all of the steps above.
When I went to install the update, seven were available and all seven failed (see below).
The log files were too large to cut and paste therefore you can find them at:

I was just wondering if anyone was trying to help me with this?
    Thanks!

  • Installed new HD on Mid-2009 MBP, installed Mavericks, now getting "error code -50" after being on for a while.

So I had the stock 320gb drive that came with my machine. It started crashing, so I pre-empted the loss of data and installed a spare Western Digital 500gb Scorpio Blue drive, installed Mavericks, and restored my data. Almost immediately I began having sporadic issues with the machine being unable to write to the disk, giving me "error code -50" after being on for about a day or so. I usually just restart and it will work for another day or so, but this is getting very tedious, and I'm a bit worried it might be straining the machine, since I can only hard restart (holding power button) when this happens. Usually, right after restarting, I repair the disk permissions, and this seems to fix things.
Is this maybe a bad OS install? Maybe I should back up and try it all again? Or is there a software issue I'm not seeing a solution for anywhere? Most people who are getting the "error code -50" messages seem to be getting them on external drives. Is it just a compatibility issue and I need to seek a new drive?

    Thank you for the tips!

Even though I read about it I had not touched any SMS settings in OS X since I did not have any problems before. I disabled SMS in Mac, let's see now.

    Reteep,
you could try the same thing as well.
In my case I doubt it is the problem because it worked fine before Mavericks, although forcing restart may have done something. I hope disabling SMS helped.

  • Error Code 8024200D while installing update KB3000850 for Windows 8.1

Error Code 8024200D while installing update KB3000850 for Windows 8.1
I have been prompted for the last 10 days to install the important update KB3000850 in my laptop, but the installation fails every time.
Two days ago, on March the 12th, I installed 31 updates without any problem. What is wrong with this particular update?
You will find below my dialogue with Microsoft Support Engineer, Mr Niranjan Manjhi, who referred me to you:
    Hi Michelle,
Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
    I understand that you are unable to install the a specific update KB3000850. I will be happy to assist you with your query. Let me ask you;
Is your computer connected to domain?
Which security software is installed in the      computer?
Do you remember making any specific change in the      computer prior to the issue?
This November update rollup also includes all previous updates since the previous image update in April 2014 and this includes performance and reliability
    improvements.
    Cause:
This issue occurs because a process keeps a file in the component store open. Therefore, the file cannot be deleted or overwritten. Let's try the methods below and
    check the status.
Method 1: Depending on the architecture of your
Windows 8.1 operating system, I would suggest you to install the following package first and then try installing the KB3000850.
All supported x86-based versions of Windows 8.1: [link] Download the package now.
All supported x64-based versions of Windows 8.1:
    [link] Download the package now.
    Restart is required.
    Method 2:
If the issue still persists, run the Windows Update Troubleshooter and check the status.
    Click to run

Hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to reply in case you face any other issues with Windows in future.
    Regards,
    Niranjan Manjhi
    Dear Niranjan,
    Thank you for your answer.
    To answer your questions:
    1) Yes, my laptop is connected to the domain,
    2) My security software is McAfee Total Protection, the same I use for my PC running Windows 7 XP,
    3) I did not make any specific change to the laptop. It is true though that I run regularly McAfee´s QuickClean.
In your answer, you suggested 2 methods for resolving the problem.
I chose to apply first the second one, i.e. I ran once again the Windows Update Troubleshooter, which revealed again the following status:
Potential Windows Update Database error detected Ox800F08F: Not fixed
Windows Update components must be repaired: Fixed
And a last information: Yesterday, McAfee´s Vulnerability Scanner was automatically activated, showing as "critical" the update in question ("important" according to Windows)!
As for applying the first method you suggested, I will need the services of a professional, someone more IT literate than myself.
    Michelle
    Hi Michelle,
Thank you for keeping us updated on the issue.
Since the computer is connected to domain, I would request you to post your query in the TechNet forums as your question is beyond the scope of what
is typically answered in this consumer forum and would be better suited for the IT Pro audience on TechNet.
Please post your question in the link TechNet Forums.

    Hi there @Achintya-only
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I see that you are getting an error code, when you try to install Windows 8.1 from USB or DVD. I am happy to assist.
Just to clarify, you are using a standalone Windows installation disk, you are not using a factory recovery image. Is that correct?
Have you run the hardware diagnostics on your notebook? HP Notebook PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 8)
What operating system was on the system before, and have you made a set of recovery media, for your original factory installation?
