Error Code 8024200D while installing update KB3000850 for Windows 8.1
I have been prompted for the last 10 days to install the important update KB3000850 in my laptop, but the installation fails every time.
Two days ago, on March the 12<sup>th</sup>, I installed 31 updates without any problem. What is wrong with this particular update?

I understand that you are unable to install the a specific update KB3000850. I will be happy to assist you with your query. Let me ask you;
Is your computer connected to domain?
Which security software is installed in the      computer?
Do you remember making any specific change in the      computer prior to the issue?
This November update rollup also includes all previous updates since the previous image update in April 2014 and this includes performance and reliability
improvements.
Cause:
This issue occurs because a process keeps a file in the component store open. Therefore, the file cannot be deleted or overwritten. Let's try the methods below and
check the status.
Method 1: Depending on the architecture of your
Windows 8.1 operating system, I would suggest you to install the following package first and then try installing the KB3000850.
All supported x86-based versions of Windows 8.1: [link] Download the package now.
All supported x64-based versions of Windows 8.1:

Restart is required.
Method 2:
If the issue still persists, run the Windows Update Troubleshooter and check the status.

Thank you for your answer.
To answer your questions:
1) Yes, my laptop is connected to the domain,
2) My security software is McAfee Total Protection, the same I use for my PC running Windows 7 XP,
3) I did not make any specific change to the laptop. It is true though that I run regularly McAfee´s QuickClean.
In your answer, you suggested 2 methods for resolving the problem.
I chose to apply first the second one, i.e. I ran once again the Windows Update Troubleshooter, which revealed again the following status:
Potential Windows Update Database error detected Ox800F08F: Not fixed
Windows Update components must be repaired: Fixed
And a last information: Yesterday, McAfee´s Vulnerability Scanner was automatically activated, showing as "critical" the update in question ("important" according to Windows)!
As for applying the first method you suggested, I will need the services of a professional, someone more IT literate than myself.

I see that you are getting an error code, when you try to install Windows 8.1 from USB or DVD. I am happy to assist.
Just to clarify, you are using a standalone Windows installation disk, you are not using a factory recovery image. Is that correct?
Have you run the hardware diagnostics on your notebook? HP Notebook PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 8)
What operating system was on the system before, and have you made a set of recovery media, for your original factory installation?

    I am trying to perform the latest update of mountain lion, which consists of an iMovie and Java update, and I am recieving an error notice (104), saying that another update is already taking place.   • Getting error code 0x400110020000100b while doing system recovery for windows vista 32 bit.

    I attempted to do a system recovery on my Laptop using the included recovery discs and got this error 0x400110020000100B. THe disc looked pretty beat so last week I ordered a new set. Now when I got to put disc 2 in (at 80% complete) I get the same error.  I called customer support and he took me through the F9 process to no avail and I've also tried the F11 approach which got me no where.  I'm frustrated because I really don;t have the money for a new laptop.
    Laptop is a HP Pavilion DV6700. 
    Any help would be appreciated more than you know.
    System is Windows Vista 32 bit

    When the installation process arrives at 87% every time I get the error code saying that installation can not be done.

    In general, Error code 8024200D means that an update did not finish downloading
    or installing.
    I recommend you to manually download the hotfix package from Microsoft web site and then install it
    on this machine.
    If the issue persists, please try stop the Windows Update service, and then rename the
    C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder. After that, start the Windows Update services and the folder will be re-created, check for the updates again.

    Trying to update Opera on a C3-01 with Ovi Suite 3.1.1.90: "Something's gone wrong. There was a problem installing the file. Error code: 300". What does this mean and where does Ovi Suite store its detailed log?

    This attachment will cure the 300 error code remember to install it on C DRIVE and in the correct order, I got this from NOKIA and it has just solved the problem on my N8 Good luck Clive.
    Install the following QT files on the C: drive of your phone in exactly this sequence
           * http://dl.nokia.com/ns/sdo/QtSA4.7.301.sisx
           * http://dl.nokia.com/ns/sdo/QtWebkitSA4.8.0.sisx
           * http://dl.nokia.com/ns/sdo/QtMobilitySA1.1.301.sis
    While you install above QT files you MUST keep the following things in mind:
    o    Installation must be done to C: drive of the phone. If you by mistake select E: drive, you can cancel the installation and re-install again. If E: drive installation is complete, you can re-install one more time and select C: drive for installation.
    o    Installation order must be met. First it has to be QT (QtSA4.7.301.sisx).
    -    Start Ovi Store

    As my installation is nearing completion I get an error code 1403 that the installer cannot delete the value (file name here) and to verify that I have access to that key or to contact support personnel.  I just got the Bold tonight, I'm tyring to install 4.6 on a Vista Laptop.     I am in the middle of installing Identity Synchronization for Windows and I am running into a probelm.
    After I gave the ldap address of the Java Directory server, (which is installed in the same machine that I am installing ISW on), then I specified the "Configuration Root Suffix" , and then I gave the "cn=Directory Manager" credentials, It returns an error saying...
    The selected Directory Server is not a configuration
    directory server. You must select a directory server that
    has "o=netscaperoot". Please note that merely adding the
    +"o=netscaperoot" entry will not suffice.+
    I am running Solaris 10 (SPARC) on a T2000, and I downloaded the latest version of "Sun Java System Directory Server Enterprise Edition" (6.2 I think it is...is there a way to find out?) and I downloaded ISW (1.1 SP1) from Sun.com...
    Anyone else had this problem? Any solutions? Thanks.

    There is no manual download link for CC updates. You can only download the update from the application itself or Creative Cloud desktop app.
    Would suggest you to uninstall PS CC 2014 and re-install it and then check. http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html#Uninstall apps

  • Why I encountered error code 50 while installing the app?

    I was using the trial version and just purchased the app via online. However ,when I try to install the desktop app, it shows error code 50 in which it encountered issue while installing.

    For Windows :
    1)End all Adobe process from Task Manager
    2) Open C:drive and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe.
    Open Adobe folder and delete folders named Adobe Application Manager and OOBE.
    3) Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe.
    Open Adobe folder and if present delete Adobe Creative Cloud folder.  [ Important step]
    4) Press Windows button (located between Ctrl and Alt buttons) along with R button together at a time , you will get a run command window.
    Type in below command and hit 'Enter' key.
    appdata
    Then navigate to Local>Adobe.
    Open Adobe folder and delete folders named AAMUpdater and OOBE.
    5) Click on the below link and download Creative Cloud setup file and use the same to install the Creative Cloud Desktop application.

    Downloading and installation of application from a 3rd party website has no guarantee that it will be compatible with your phone, this might damage your phone. If you want you can check Nokia Store for alternative application similar to what you're trying to download from a 3rd party.
