Error code A12E1 help required

I had the error code and followed the advice in the support section of Adobe Creative Cloud website. It appears I do have the supported drive so can someone help me as to why I got that message and what I can do as the update won't work.
Thank you.

Cally Browning Solution 2 through 4 is most certainly still applicable to Mac OS users.
If you do have a case sensitive format on your drive then there is no need to complete any additional solutions as you will not be able to install the Adobe Creative applications included with your membership on that drive.
You can find more details at Error "Case-sensitive drives not supported" or similar install error | Mac OS - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-case-sensitive-drives-supported.html.

  • Error Code A12E1 and Creative Cloud Update Loop

Possible Windows Solution - this applies to Windows systems only.
    Problem:
    1) You try to open the Adobe Creative Cloud and receive notification of an update. The options are to Update or Quit. When you click Update, the process starts and then quits with no warning.
    2) You have downloaded the Creative Cloud Manager or any software package installer. When you try to install the program, it quits and gives you a message about Error Code A21E1.
    Possible Cause:
Due to the recent Cryptolocker virus, many reputable websites have been offering "fixes" to prevent the virus from installing itself. These fixes typically entail making changes to your local security policy, or in domain (office network) environments, making changes to Group Policy that block EXE (executable) files from running if they originate in the C:\Users\{username}\AppData\* folders. You can read more about that stuff HERE and HERE.
Basically the problem is that the first thing the Adobe Cloud installer does is copy a setup helper to to C:\Users\{username]\AppData\Local\ACCCx2_3_0_322\Set-up.exe. If you or your network administrator have tried to prevent the Cryptolocker virus by putting a blanket stop on allowing EXE files to execute from the AppData folders, this file can't run and, Bob's-your-uncle, you get the Error Code A12E1 message.
To see if this is the problem you need to check the Windows Event Viewer. You can access it by opening a Run dialog (Win+R) and typing in eventvwr. (If you need help navigating the Event Viewer, check out this YouTube video.) If you see a Windows Application Event 866 "Software RestrictionPolicies" you know this is the reason you can't install anything. If you click on the event, you can see the name and path of the file that is trying to execute.
If you are like me and applied the Cryptolocker fix in a flurry of prevention activity and forgot if you applied the policy locally or at the group policy level, you can check the "Resultant Set of Policy" management console. Go back to the Run dialog and enter RSOP.MSC to open it. Navigate to Computer Configuration>Windows Settings>Software Restriction Policies and the same one under User Configuration to see if there are modifications. If you find something, right click on a policy object and select Properties to see the name of the GPO it came from.
    Solution:
While you can tweak the settings to allow Abobe applications to execute, I just dropped the restrictions for now. If you are in a network environment and have an admin - give them the event viewer info and they should be able to set up the exclusion for you.
In any event - I hope this helps. I hadn't seen anyone else post anything about this possible cause so I thought I should. Best of luck!

  • CS6 Trial - Error Code A12E1?

I go to download the CS6 trial so of course it's downloading tralalala and next thing I know, it says:
    "We've encountered the following issues:
Sorry, there seems to be a problem with the installation process
(Error Code: A12E1). For troubleshooting tips..."
So of course I'm like what. How. And I redownload the trial and I keep getting the same message.
What do I do? How do I fix it?
I'm too poor to buy CS6 or Elements or anything and my old CS5 extended won't run on windows 8.

    Does this help?

Just wondering why you are downloading the trial if you can't aford to buy it?

  • Cloud Update Failure: Error Code A12E1

I tried to update the Cloud app. I get this error.
    "We've encountered the following issues:
Sorry, there seems to be a problem with the installation process (Error Code: A12E1). For troubleshooting tips, please visit our support page."
So here I am. I have no idea what to do.
    Hardware Specs:
    Mac 10.8.4
    2.66GHz Intel Core i7
    8GB 1067MHz DDR3
    No external drives

I ran into this issue recently myself when I was applying the lastest updates to CC:
    Error Code: A12E1)
I thought the fix recommended - running the cleaner and/or reinstalling the entire Suite, etc - was a little bit extreme. I was able to apply the update in a round about manner. I didn't have time to do a complete reinstall just to fix a couple of photos.
Issue: When applying the update to Creative Cloud you get the error about 3/4 of the way through the upgrade:
    "We've encountered the following issues:
Sorry, there seems to be a problem with the installation process (Error Code: A12E1). For troubleshooting tips, please visit our support page."
Tried again after a reboot. Same error.
    HERE IS MY FIX:
I am Running Lion, and this is what worked for me:
    Resolution:
    1. Restarted the Mac, telling it NOT to open the programs on reboot
    2. Opened Photoshop
    3. Went to Help and selected updates...
    4. Launched the update through Photoshop. It ran through and updated the applications.
After I was done, I noted the CC update indicator next to the clock went away. I also noted that when I launched Photoshop from Lightroom I didn't get the error saying my Adobe Raw was out of date which is what prompted the update in the beginning.
I should note that when I did this I got an error saying some library was open so I canceled the upgrader and closed out of the program I forgot to close, so make sure this is a clean restart.

  • Error code A12E1 while updating Creative Cloud

    Hello,
The title of this topic says enough, I think. While updating Creative Cloud I get an error code A12E1. What is this and how can I fix this problem?
    Thanks!

    Hi Niels Joormann,
Please follow these steps to fix this issue.
Please launch task manager and check whether any Adobe updater or Acrotry process is running. If yes please close them before you perform these steps.
Download and run Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. You can download it from this Website
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
Once done please rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old  from the mentioned location.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
Download and Install Creative Cloud Desktop App from this Location
    https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
If none of the above steps work then please create another Admin user Account and try to install Creative Cloud Desktop app there.
Please let us know if it helps.

    Abhijit

  • I have an error code A12E1 when updating

I have an error code A12E1 when updating

Hi Derek, I've been a Creative Cloud subscriber since July 2013....I have been prompted by my Creative Cloud desktop manager to update 4X since August of this year. Each and every time I try and download and update I get the same error message: A12E1!
I have downloaded other users fixes for this, I've tried and used other soluitons offered on Adobe's forums by their own reps, I've called Adbobe tech support on the phone on other occasions....and each time I'm assured that this problem is fixed. And each time, sadly, it is not. I use an iMac with OS X v10.7.5. In addition to waiting for hours for call backs or 50 minutes + for an agent to help me on-line I finally decided to no longer seek Adobe's technical assistance on this as it is now obvious that they are incapable, or unwilling to fix this problem. So.... here is my solution (and if you are on Windows, sorry I can't give you step by step...but the same general solution should still work). Again, these are MAC instructions:
    - Go to "Go" pull-down menu, top left menu bar on your desktop
    - Select "Computer"
    - Expand the folder called: "Applications"
    - Double-click the file called "Uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud"
    - Once done, do the following:
    - Open your browser and go to: www.creative.adobe.com
    - Then, log-in to your Creative Cloud account (have your username and password at hand)
    - Click on the "Creative Cloud" icon amongst all the other app icons in the Adobe creative suite
    - Follow prompts to do the download/install....once done you will have the latest version of Creative Cloud (inclusive of any updates that would have prompted your CC desktop manager to tell you to update).
Uninstall and reinstall works everytime! It is unfortunate that this is what some of us have to do to update CC desktop manager. At least it takes far less time and far less aggravation than speaking with an Adobe rep and consuming hours of your valuable time while trying to meet crushing deadlines. Maybe one day Adobe will fix this in addition to the problems they recently had where hackers breached their servers and stole gobs of data about users, passwords and accounts.
Adobe....if you are listening or monitoring this forum.....you really, really, really, need to fix this problem - you are the ones setting the expectations and offering this service. When a company can't meet the expectations they set you serve only to damage your brand!
