Error code(A12E5) is being shown while downloading Muse. How to solve it ?

I grappleed with this problem since August 2013 and only found a solution two weeks ago.
Forget the Adobe people - they haven't got a clue about this and will send  you on a circular wild goose chase over ever decreasing circles.
By chance, I found the solution with Microsoft.
Follow this link and the instructions. It seems a little daunting at first but step by step it is easy. And if you make a snaffoo you can teset your machine to normal in four dead simple steps.
www.support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
I followed this and was immediately able to download Photoshop CC and Bridge CC and they both work perfectly. (I haven't tried any updates yet.)

  • Error Code A12E5

I am unable to install Adobe Application Manager. I continue to receive "error code A12E5." I have tried downloading the patch and installing via that method, but that did not work either. Also, when I try to download an app via my Creative Cloud account, the resulting .zip file is empty and my system reports that the file is invalid.
I believe I have exhausted all methods posted to the forums. Does anyone else have any ideas?
I'm running Windows 7, Service Pack 1 64-bit on a Dell T3500 with 6GB of RAM. No previous versions of Adobe applications are installed on the machine (it's fresh out of the box).
    Thanks for your help.

Getting same error while trying to update to Acrobat XI pro Cloud app, also on windows7 64 sp1. But I do have most adobe apps installed.  Adobe Application Manager wants to update first, tries, fails, same error code: A12E5.   Fellow coworker had no troubles installing XI today.  Error code window suggests visiting customer support page.  But not seeing much else on this.  Wondering about next step I should take...
Update:  Went through about 8 failed efforts to run the Adobe Application manager and constantly getting one initial error message about multiple AAM's running in the background that should be shut down, then it closes that error and tries to proceed updating, ultimately returning the A12E5 error.
Because of a different issue with DW I decided to delete my windows profile and start new.  Didn't fix this immediately but after couple more tries I was able to update AAM.
After the windows profile resest,  I tried running an update check from both photoshop and Acrobat X. Neither found any updates, but while photoshop was checking it did pop up a question about allowing Adobe AAM to report failed installs.  I agreed to allow it.  I went and tried opening adobe support advisor, which ran some check but found no errors.  I then tried AAM one more time (9th) and it worked.  It updated AAM and allowed me to install XI successfully.
Not sure what did it for me.  But everything fine here now.

You could try booting the MBP using the OPTION+COMMAND+R keys and see if it will connect to the Apple servers.  This would allow you to install the original OSX .  I have my doubts though.
    - I've tried something crazy suggested in another thread; leaving the Macbook partially opening and shaking it, which supposedly does something to the "sudden motion sensor".
The Sudden Motion Sensor is applicable for conventional Hard Drives, not the SSD that is in a MBA.  Doing that will serve no useful purpose.
You have exhausted all reasonable options and will just have to have the MBA evaluated at the genius bar.
    Ciao.

Get error code A12E5 when downloading acrobat

Are you downloading the trial or what? I have never seen that error, but it may be related to the download application. I would suggest downloading from http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html.

  • Error Code: A12E5 - nothing will download

    PC running Window 7

    Hi gottajeep,
Are you on a managed network? Please refer the knowledge base article: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/error-a12e5-installing-creative-cloud.html.
You may even try the below steps:
    1. Download Build from: http://adobe.ly/1dJgILI
    2. Extract the file and run the setup.exe from build to install CC desktop.
Kindly let us know whether it worked.

  • Installed new HD on Mid-2009 MBP, installed Mavericks, now getting "error code -50" after being on for a while.

So I had the stock 320gb drive that came with my machine. It started crashing, so I pre-empted the loss of data and installed a spare Western Digital 500gb Scorpio Blue drive, installed Mavericks, and restored my data. Almost immediately I began having sporadic issues with the machine being unable to write to the disk, giving me "error code -50" after being on for about a day or so. I usually just restart and it will work for another day or so, but this is getting very tedious, and I'm a bit worried it might be straining the machine, since I can only hard restart (holding power button) when this happens. Usually, right after restarting, I repair the disk permissions, and this seems to fix things.
Is this maybe a bad OS install? Maybe I should back up and try it all again? Or is there a software issue I'm not seeing a solution for anywhere? Most people who are getting the "error code -50" messages seem to be getting them on external drives. Is it just a compatibility issue and I need to seek a new drive?

    Thank you for the tips!

I would check to see if the WD HDD has its own Sudden Motion Sensor.  If so, it may be coming in conflict with the one in the Mac.  If that is the case, I suggest disabling the SMS in the Mac.
WD5000BEVT does indeed have it's own protection:
ShockGuard™ - Leading-edge ShockGuard technology combines firmware and hardware advancements to protect the drive mechanics and platter surface to meet the highest combined shock tolerance specifications required for mobile and notebook applications.

Even though I read about it I had not touched any SMS settings in OS X since I did not have any problems before. I disabled SMS in Mac, let's see now.

    Reteep,
you could try the same thing as well.
In my case I doubt it is the problem because it worked fine before Mavericks, although forcing restart may have done something. I hope disabling SMS helped.

  • Adobe Application Manager crashes giving me this error code: A12E5

I just installed the CS6 Design Standard for Windows 7 on a new Dell. I am using the software and InDesign is not working properly. The windows for options are un-clickable. I have tried reinstalling the entire CD and updating. The Application Manager that I downloaded from Adobe.com continually crashes during startup reading error code: A12E5. I have search the Adobe database for answers with no resolve. I do NOT have a creative Cloud account because I have a CD. PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!

Without more precise system info and crash logs nobody can say anything. "a new Dell" is pretty generic and mostly meaningless. Presumably you have an issue with rendering the UI on an high-DPI screen to which in Pparticular ID is quite sensitive, but we really can't know...

  • AAM gives error code A12E5

    Running windows 7
Creative suite CS6 is already installed.
Just subscribed to creative cloud, on clicking on "download" on DW i was told I had to update my AAM. So I clicked through the links and downloaded to desktop and "run as Administrator". It seems to start updtaing and installing but about half way through it throws up the error "Sorry there seems to be a problem with the download process (Error code: A12E5)
I've tried this seveal times and restarted the PC but all to no avail. I have also tried uninstalling CS6 but that fails and throws up an error message "
    Exit Code: 33
Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting. For example,  ERROR: DW040 ...
    -------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------
    - 0 fatal error(s), 1 error(s)
ERROR: DW040: The product "{402F6F2E-5683-491C-977D-0CA599A07CAF}" is not installed. Cannot proceed with the uninstall"
Just before I completle reinstall Windows can anyone help with this?
    Many thanks
    John

    Hi Jeff,
Firstly the cleaner tool said that I had to uninstall CS6 first. Because my installation of AAM was corrupted I couldn't do that. So I re-installed Creative Suite CS6 and tried agin thinking that would cure the AAM problem. I still couldn't download any creative cloud product but it did allow me to uninstll CS6. After that I run the CS Cleaner Tool. I then attempted to download the Creative cloud products but again the AAM failed with the same error.
So I have spent the day doing a clean new install of Window 7. I've installed Microsft Office 2007 and Microsoft Security Essentials and that's all. I went to creative Cloud and downloaded the new AAM sucessfully and successfully installed and run it. I get all the programs listed and so I clicked on install next to Dreamweaver CS6. It downloaded, extracted OK but the install stalls at 9%. I tried Fireworks and that downloaded but did not install at all.
Following another post I went trough the process of trying to download the trial of DW CS6 but as I had to log in it did not give me the choice of a "try" it just recognises that I am a member of CC and provides the usual download link.
Any ideas as this is beginning to wear me down a bit.
