I have not been able to open up Lightroom on my computer for over a year now. Whenever I double click on it, this comes up - can anyone help? Problem signature: Problem Event Name:APPCRASH Application Name:lightroom.exe Application Version:3.4.1.10
First thing to try is the latest version of Lightroom (currently 5.6). If it don't crash, then problem solved - upgrade.
If Lr5 won't run on your machine, then Lr4 instead.
If both Lr5 and Lr4 crash on your machine, then at least you know it's a not a Lightroom version problem but something wonked in your system.
If you can't figure out how to resolve the crash on the system you have, then it's time for a new system (or try another converter/editor app).
PS - A few things to try:
* After re-installing new version, if that doesn't fix it, then get rid of all Lightroom-related data files (rename them so they can be restored), in case problem is in Lr data file.
* Remove all non-essential hardware in case problem is hardware/driver.
* Startup up machine with minimal software services.
* If still no go, consider updating driver software, including mainboard drivers and/or bios firmware if need be.
* Of course run all the system hardware and software diagnostics you can - problem could be failing disk or ram..
* Check system event logs for any clues.
If you don't know how to do some of these things - ask.
Do not say "you've tried everything" unless you want a lecture - there is most definitely something you haven't tried. It's like when you can't find your car keys - you haven't looked everywhere - there is somewhere you haven't looked!
PS - Has Lightroom EVER worked on your machine? what's changed since then..
Good luck,
Rob -
I have installed an evaluation version of lightroom 5.6;64 bits on my windows 7 64 bits pc sp1. Tecnical capacities of my pc are ok. When I Try to run lightroom i read the following message :"lightroom exe. application failure 0x000007b" Thanks for your help. Pasc39
I did some googling and found alot of topics from you on this issue, to me it simply seems like on of the connectors is broken or loose.

I have installed; fixed; uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom 5 student version several times. Then I uninstalled it, deleted all files, and downloaded and installed the trial version. The downloads and installs seem to go fine with no errors, but every time I try to open the program, I get a box titled "lightroom.exe - Application Error" with the description "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc 0000 07b). Click OK to close the application." I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1. I've rebooted my computer several times and tried closing all other programs. I always get the same error. I have CS5 installed on this computer and it runs fine.

I reloaded iTunes 10 (64 bit) successfully, but the problem remains the same.
Any suggestions?I looked in the folder from which I want to synch photos, but there is no such thing as an "ipod photo cache" in that folder, or sub-folders, as suggested in the link which you were nice enough to provide.
I have also tried removing photos from my iPad2 Photos App, and "iTunes has stopped working" shows up again as soon as I click on the "Synch photos from" button. -

Even if you don't have any third-party plug-ins or add-ons, try opening iTunes in safe mode as per the instructions in the following document:
iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins
If iTunes opens in safe mode, quit iTunes and then try launching it again normally. Does it launch without the error messages this time? -
Labview.exe - Application Error
While running VI in Labview 7.1, I receive the following error:
Labview.exe - Application error
The instruction at "0x05791a4b" referenced memory at "0x00000034". The memory could not be "written".
Has anyone seen this error? Does anyone have an idea of the cause?
For reference, this is a new computer, XP Pro, 4G ram. I did not get the error on the previous computer running the same code, but the old computer had other issues that required it be replaced. This looks like an error popup from windows. Those hex values are going to be different depending on where the problem is in memory, and that could be different every time. It might have created a Dr Watson's error report, but that usually isn't enough to determine the cause.
I agree with John's direction -- is it reproducible? Is it only one VI?
Do you ever get another type of error message from LabVIEW? If fatal, it will appear when the error occurs. If a warning, it will appear at LabVIEW's next start-up. Please refer to:

Error "Please wait while the application opens: BlackBerryLink.exe - Application Error"
After several installations, disinstalls and reinstallations I am completely unable to use BlackBerryLink on my Windows7 PC: The error message provided immediately after launch of BlackBerryLink is with the title
"Please wait while the application opens: BlackBerryLink.exe - Application Error"
with detailed message:
"The exception unknown software exception (0xe0434352) occurred in the application at location 0x75cf812f."
Please provide any advice! My brand new Blackberry Z10 like this is only useful at 50% (since the encrypted SD card is not recognizeable as a normal SD card by my PC), and I would prefer not being forced to byuy other smartphones...
thanks for any advice
KnutHi Kodee,
1) Are using error handling in your code? Are you getting any errors?
2) What version of LabVIEW are you using? If you are using 8.0 or newer, then you can build a debuggable executable:

IKernel.exe - Application Error
I downloaded j2sdk1.4.1_02 yesterday and installed it on windows XP. At the very end of the installation I get an error window saying:
IKernel.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x771c741a" referrenced memory at "0x00168c8". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
I have previously been running j2sdk-1_3_1_01 which has worked fine for me. But I am having problems with the new java program. We are working on a team project at University rotating graphs. But I can not seem to get the code that works at the University to run on my home PC.
The error I am getting when i type "java ImageViewerFrame"
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: ImageViewerFrame
This class does have a main method though.
I guess my question is, has the Application Error above caused java to mess up somehow?
I have set up all the PATH and CLASSPATH variables in XP as far as i can see correctly. I am just stuck for ideas.
Thanks in Advance
MikeHello again... I'm still stuck
Just finished installing and no error this time after the install, but after trying to run my "java ImageViewerFrame" class again i recieved this:

Edited by: Travis.Hartman on Nov 16, 2011 8:34 PMHello Leandro,
I tried changing all the "cryptocme2.dll" in my system and replacing with new one. But it didn't work for me.
Please try as mentioned in this note 1686448 _ Crystal report Installation . Invalid Keycode workaround solution.
Download the new isKeyCodeValid.zip file and replace it with the existing one.
It worked for me.

Can t open itune: DDe server window: itune.exe-application error. Then, instruction at 0x6d561040 memory could not be read. P.S.: the code change every time i click ok.
I do not know the answer to this, but if you are willing to to do some troubleshooting:
Which version of windows are you using?
XP vista or 7, 64 bit or 32 bit.
Do you have Quicktime? If so does Quicktime launch?
Did you change anything on your computer just before this problem started?
Please look in the Event viewer for a helpful error message.
To open the event viewer:
Control Panel>>Administrative Tools>>Event Viewer
Or type Event Viewer into the search box.
Then select Windows Logs>>Application
Open the Event viewer immediately after iTunes crashes.
The error message should be at or near the top.
Double click on it to open more information and press copy.
Paste the result into your post.
You are looking for a message starting something like this:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: iTunes.exe
Application Version: 10.2.1.1
Application Timestamp: 4d756476
Fault Module Name: iTunes.dll -
HI
when i am trying to open MSWord following message pop up and i can't open MSword any more:
WINWORD.EXE -Application Error The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click ok to close the application.
Please adviseHi,
Does Word start in Safe Mode?
Press Win key + R, type "winword.exe /safe" in the blank box, press Enter.
If Word can start in Safe Mode, the issue should be related to 3rd-party add-ins, disable the suspicious add-ins to determine which one caused the problem.
You can also try repairing Office from Control Panel -> Programs and Features, check if this helps.

Melon Chen
