Error code MSVCR80.dll
I am getting error code MSVCR80.dll - what should I do ?
SOLVED only by uninstall iTunes then download lastest version which re-installs.
Apple should be ashamed about and compensate all iTunes users for the major disruption, inconvenience, personal stress, wasted time and money caused by its NEGLIGENCE and INCOMPETENCE in releasing the latest FAULTY iTunes upgrade that disabled iTunes, web browers and other applications.
You are now right down there in the gutter with Microsoft.
What a disappointment! Steve Jobs will be turning in his grave.
Compensation of $500 worth of free iTunes access would be an appropriate offer to every person who has downloaded the faulty product over the last week (see numerous posts to Apple iTunes Community Support) then lost nearly a day in seeking assistance from the User Community (NONE OFFERED BY APPLE !!!!!) to diagnose the problem then sift through the many suggestions then fix alone!

Windows error code: "msvcr80.dll missing"
I just upgraded to the latest Itunes and now get the error "msvcr80.dll missing". Can anyone help? I'm running a windows 7 Sony Vaio laptop

Hi,
I'm using Windows 7 64bit and the problem was solved in one step. Simply "Restore" Windows to a time prior to your installing the iTunes update.........It fixed everything, my library was there and I had access to iTunes.
One thing to remember, when you restore and open iTunes DON'T choose to update iTunes
I just did the exact same thing as you did after spending about an hour trying to fix it. iTunes updates drive me insane!!! I wish they would quit trying to "improve" what was never broken in the first place. -
When I open iTunes I get an error message "MSVCR80.DLL missing". I downloaded this .dll and installed in C:\Windows|System32. I then scanned my computer to fix registry errors.I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled and got the following error message "Apple Mobile Device failed to start".

I was recently prompted to update my Itunes player to the latest version. I'm using Windows Vista. I was left with an error message MSVCR80.dll and consequently no new update. I uninstalled the old version and have tried to reinstall manually several times. No luck. Consequently I have no player.
Any ideas for a fix?Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

MSVCR is Microsoft Virtual Creator. It's an MS dirivitive of Java.
