Error connecting OBIEE with oracle 11gr2
64-bit Windows 7
i get this error Oxc1 [nQSError:46029] Failed to load the DLL C:\OracleBI\server\Bin\nqsdbgatewayoci10g.dll. Check if 'Oracle OCI 10G' database client is installed.
i did check that i had this dll file and i do have the file. initially what i did was: 1) Install Oracle 11g R2 client 2) Install OBIEE 3) went to network/admin and made the tns entry in tnsnames.ora
i have 11g and the error is stating 10g client not installed. Could be problem.
Somewhere something fundamental is missing . I dont know why this error is coming when i even do "view data" after loading a rpd file offline in OBIEE: Administrator, Physical Pane.
Please help.
Edited by: 996124 on Mar 25, 2013 10:43 PM
which version of OBIEE are you using? can you try installing the oracle 11g/10g with 32-bit version and then see it should be able to connect properly. Also check the odbc.ini file where you need to define the ORACLE_HOME and TNS_Admin values properly. And check for PATH and ORACLE_HOME and TNS_Admin environment variables on windows machine using command prompt. if not then define those env variables
Hope it helps

Unable to connect forms6i with oracle 10g
hi:
i am facing a problem to connect forms6i with oracle 10.2 g. i already make a entry in TNSNAMES.ora file in forms folder.
while i am trying to connect it dispaly "ORA-12203: TNS:unable to conect to destination" error.
please help. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
AbhishekHi
i already make a entry in TNSNAMES.ora Another option...
1. Pls Verify that the net service name you entered was correct including no spaces.
2.Verify that the ADDRESS portion of the connect descriptor which corresponds to the net service name is correct.
3.Ensure that the destination process (for example the listener) is running at the remote node and the cabel of ur local net work connecting to ur server is well connected and working well.
4. Test ur local network cabel and try to make the connection to another computer set.
5.u can check from Start > control panel > administrative tools > services that the service name is started or not if it is Started Restarted or refresh it.
6. Ensure that the listener is running at the remote node and that the ADDRESS parameters specified in TNSNAMES.ORA are correct.
and the more ....
Hope this helps...

LOG BY0=>ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
You need to change your schema users password using "brconnect"
Try as follow:
1. Login as ora<sid>
2. Use below command to reset SAPRP1 users password
# brconnect -u system -f chpass -o SAPRP1 -p <new password>
If it still doesn't work... just set the password as "sap" (it is default password for schema user)
# brconnect -u system -f chpass -o SAPRP1 -p sap
Hope, it helps you...
Suggestions:
Above thing will help even if OPS$ mechanism is not set correctly...
But it is recommended to create and set permissions for OPS$ user. Else some BRTools function will produce errors...
Relevant notes are already suggested by others...
Please go through it word by word...
Regards.

Trans.log file showing 'ERROR = CONNECT failed with sql error 12541'
Dear All
We have upgraded our datatabse from Oracle 9.2.0.8 to Oracel 10.2.0.4 on our ECC 5.0 IS-AFS SAP system. When we check version from SQL, it's showing 10.2.0.4. That means database is successfully upgraded. Now, when we login through our <SID>adm user and checking R3trans -d, it is showing
'This is R3trans version 6.13 (release 640 - 07.01.08 - 14:25:00).
unicode enabled version

R3trans finished (0012).'
In the trans.log file it is showing,
4 ETW000 R3trans version 6.13 (release 640 - 07.01.08 - 14:25:00).

can any body show me the code of how to connect java with oracle database.
thank youTo configure Oracle JDBC:
1. Add Oracle JDBC JAR file classes12.zip or ojdbc14.zip to classpath.
2. Load and register the JDBC driver.
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
3. Obtain a connection:
String url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@<host>:1521:<database>
Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection(url,
"myLogin", "myPassword");
4. Create a SQL statement.
Statement stmt = con.createStatement();
5. Obtain a result set.
ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery(
"SELECT ..."); -
Check compatibility with Oracle 11gR2 ( Iplanet & SunOne)
hi, there is a document and / or link to check the versions of SunOne 7 and iPlanet 6.0 SP4 / iPlanet 6.1 if they have compatibility with Oracle 11gR2.
I need detailed information where specified drivers compatibilities with Oracle 11gR2 SunOne and iPlanet.
thanks+... the question is outside the scope of this DB forum.+
You should have posted it to a SunOne or an IPlanet forum since that's what you are using.+
Thread locked, particularly becausde you multi-posted it.

32-bit ODAC 11.2.0.2.1 Installed on Win7 X64 with Oracle 11gR2 x64
I have Visual Studio 2010 x64 installed on a Win7 x64 Enterprise system, along with Oracle Express Edition 11gR2 x64. I downloaded and installed 32-bit ODAC 11.2.0.2.1 so I could use Oracle databases with Visual Studio, along with SQL Server.
When I tried to run InstallAllOracleASPNETProviders.sql in SqlExplorer, I got an error
D:\app\PaulK\product\11.2.0\client_1\ocijdbc11.dll: Can't load IA 32-bit .dll on a AMD 64-bit platform. Vendor code 0.
Everything was working fine before I installed ODAC 11.2.0.2.1.
I've seen references to a beta x64 version of ODAC. Where do I find it? Do I have to uninstall the 32-bit ODAC first? Will uninstalling the 32-bit ODAC fix SqlExplorer?
Thanks.PaulK wrote:
I have Visual Studio 2010 x64 installed on a Win7 x64 Enterprise system, along with Oracle Express Edition 11gR2 x64. Not sure I follow. Neither VS 2010 or XE 11.2 exists in a 64-bit release. What precisely do you have installed?
I downloaded and installed 32-bit ODAC 11.2.0.2.1 so I could use Oracle databases with Visual Studio, along with SQL Server.Since VS is a 32-bit app (though it can run on 64-bit OS and produce 64-bit binaries), it needs 32-bit libraries, yes.
Is MS SQL Server instance a 32-bit or a 64-bit install? Perhaps both 32-bit and 64-bit clients are needed for planned setup.
D:\app\PaulK\product\11.2.0\client_1\ocijdbc11.dll: Can't load IA 32-bit .dll on a AMD 64-bit platform. Vendor code 0.It seems you are running SQL Developer on a 64-bit java machine. The 64-bit jvm obviously can't load a 32-bit dll, which I'm guessing was found via the 32-bit ODAC's PATH entry. Entry was listed first since Client/ODAC was installed last. Did you use Connection type TNS in SQL Developer? (Or Use OCI/Thick driver ticked in the database / advanced options, in Preferences.)
What's the version of SQL Developer?
Everything was working fine before I installed ODAC 11.2.0.2.1.If I'm correct in various assumptions, you have to cater for different environments/requirements.
E.g to run SQL Developer with correct set of libs.
set PATH=<path to libraries for sql developer/jvm>;<remaining PATH stuff>
x:\some\path\here\sqldeveloper.exe
Another way could be to use Instant Client and drop required lib files (.dll) in proper location within SQL Developer home. (So that it will find proper dlls directly in "cwd" instead of searching via PATH.)
I've seen references to a beta x64 version of ODAC. Where do I find it? There are both production and beta releases.

According to the error message, the issue is that the user cannot connect to the Oracle server. To fix this issue, please refer to the following suggestions:
Verify the Oracle server is installed on the server that the connection string indicates. It means that verify the connection string is incorrect.
Does the user that runs the package the correct
authorization?
Check if the SQL Agent job step that runs this package is set to run it in 32 bit mode.

the error message is
Error in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
Please Help Me
Thanks For Reading
Thanks a lot in Advance For your ANSWERSmaybe if you asked nicely instead of ordering people around we might tell you.
As it is all you're going to hear is that you don't need both those jars, as they contain different versions of the same driver.
I'm not going to tell you which you need, as you should have the documentation to tell you that. But then you also should have the documentation to tell you how to set your classpath properly and you failed to read that too. -

The tnsnames.ora is oks, because I can connect with sqlplus.
but when in ODI I use

java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: oracle.jdbc.driver.T2CConnection.t2cGetCharSet([CI[CI[CI[CII[SLoracle/jdbc/driver/GetCharSetError;)S
at oracle.jdbc.driver.T2CConnection.t2cGetCharSet(Native Method)
do not connect, somebody knows how can I connect? Thanks for your help.
Edited by: user10860691 on 06/10/2009 22:07Very likely (see Metalink Note 788777.1) this is because the version of the JDBC driver and the OCI libraries is different.
Use the JDBC driver of the same version as the installed Oracle client libraries.
