Error converting a Premiere Elments file (*.prel) into Premiere Pro

When opening a Premiere Elements File (*.prel) in Premiere Pro it does not load. Premiere Pro crashes in the process and I get the following message before shutting down: "Premiere Pro has encountered an error. [\SRC\AEVideoFilter.ccp-1651]"
I use Premiere Pro CS5 and import from Premiere Elements 9 on Windows Vista.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum.
When the PREL comes from a version of PrE, that is rather contemporary with one's version of PrPro, it should Open fine. If not, try to Import it into a similar Project. Now, there ARE some caveats:
PrE has some functions that do not exist in PrPro, such as Instant Movies/Themes, and those can cause issues.
PrE has some 3rd party Effects and Transitions, that do not exist in PrPro, but PrPro should not crash, only alert you to those. However, a few have caused some major issues.
There could well be other issues, that I am just not remembering.
As a test, create a simple Project in PrE, and Save. Open (or Import) that PREL into PrPro, and test.
Good luck,
Hunt

    Grazie in anticipo dell'aiuto
I downloaded Adobe Premiere Pro, and every time I try to run it I get this message: "Error starting Adobe premiere pro. Premiere Pro can not access the preferences folder. It 'possible that the user does not have permission ... .. ". I tweaked the permissions of the folders, but continues to repeat the same message, without even allowing the applications to open. What can I do?
P.S. The strange thing is that Premiere is the only program that harbor the "pro" ... all the others are just CC. I do not know if it can be a factor ....

  • Convert from Premiere Pro

I did my son's graduation in an old version of Premiere Pro (2.0, I think).  I now have Premiere Elements 7.  I have all of the project files from a backup.  I would like to convert the project to PPE7 so I can burn a DVD.  How do I convert the project files?

    >have all of the project files from a backup
What CODEC are your original video files?
Did you get those files from camera to computer using a proprietary device like an earlier device like the Pinnacle Dv500? (before software driver 4, I think, the files would ONLY load if you had the Dv500 installed)
No matter what you do with your old project file, you need to be able to open & edit your video files
Read Bill Hunt on a file type as WRAPPER http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440037

  • Src/application.cpp/error-3685 in Premiere Pro CC

Please help. I have a file that originates from CC that no longer works when I try to open it. I get the error stated above. None of the auto-save files work either. When I try to open my file, it seems to load properly, but then all I get is a blank Premiere Pro screen where the project would usually open. Everything freezes, and I can't even close Premiere Pro without Task Manager.
If you have any ideas, please help. I have something due in two days and need this project.

    Hi lmadobe,

    Ricky,
simply find your work folder and save everything in safe place.
If you have not changed any setting, it should be in user\your name.
About uninstall, just launch it like you'd want to remove everything, then, when the program will ask you which application had to be removed,
just sign premiere, mediaencore and company.
Unfortunately for you, I'm quite agree with Harm.
    Ciao

  • Converting Samsung vp-hmx20c files for final cut pro

    Hey
Ive got a samsung vp-hmx20c hd video camera and have recorded files in 1080/25p and 1080/50i.
Im trying to convert them for editing in FCP but everytime i convert to something different playback is flickery and lags in both FCP and quicktime.
Im using a Macbook pro intel core duo 2.2ghz with 2gb ram.
Just wanting to know what the best way to convert the files and what i should be converting them to?
    Files info from Quicktime is
    Format: H.264, 1920 x 1080, Millions
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
    FPS: 50
    Data Rate: 14.54 Mbit/s
    Current Size: 1440 x 810 pixels
    Cheers

    Use ProRes 422.
Is there any benefit of compressor or streamclip?
MPEG Streamclip is possibly a little less complicated to set up than Compressor.
I have a tutorial for it [here|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2070861&tstart=0]. Just substitute ProRes instead of the DV codec in the article.

  • Error message transferring premiere pro CS3 project ot Encore

I use an earlire version of Premiere pro with no problem.  I cannot use CS3.  I can create a project and try to export
it to Encore to burn it to a DVD, but I get the following message:
PGC "project name" has an error at 00;05;55;14  Internal software error %0, line "project name"-PGC info;name="project name", ref=Bpgc,time=00;05;55;14
One person suggested changing the Bitrate from variable to constant.  I did that.  Same error message.
I'm really frustrated.  Can anyone help?

Ah, the dreaded PGC error. I would suggest that you head to the Encore Forum, and do a search for "PGC." There are probably 5 threads, and two are very, very long. Look closely, as some replies are tangents, and never proved to be useful, but some suggestions did - in certain circumstances.
Look closely at replies by Jeff Bellune and Stanley Jones, as they offer the most info.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - welcome to the forum. I would also post to the Encore Forum with as much info as possible, as Stanley never makes it over here and has worked on this error for some years.

  • Jdev 10.1.2 errors in making a project file/ repackaging into an ear file

    Hi Guys
I am new to jdeveloper. I am using jdev 10g (10.1.2) for an old application modification and need help in running it.
I used ear files to create a workspace which was consisted of two projects. One was myfiles.jpr and the other-one myfiles-ear.jpr. I went into the htdocs of myfiles.jpr and modified some of the jsp files in one of them. Can you please tell how to repackage it into an ear file.
I tried to deploy it into an ear but I do not get the option for Deployment to an ear (right click on project, New, Deploy to an ear). I also tried to make the file and received a whole bunch of errors.
    please help.
    thanks!

As far as I know repackaging always means recompile the Java classes. If you only have changed jsps, you can try to just change the original ear file and deploy this.
Don't you have access to the original project or workspace?
    Timo
