Error creating ASInstance
Greetings, I'm trying to install Oracle BI 11g in a VM running Linux 5, I have RCU, Data Integrator 11g and a database already installed and running.
Although, on the BI Configuration Progress, i'm having this issue:
Error Creating ASInstance instance1
Cause:
An internal operation has failed: unable to validate NonJ2EEManagement Application on deployment on admin server
I had a previous issue with ASIntance, complaining about an empty instance, i've changed the hosts file and it seems to have solved it, but well, new error now.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance
Hi Pramod,
I am using XP and 32bit binary for the installation and it should be correct.
It may be the problem due to the fact that I am extending an existing domain created by SOA-suite. I will try to start over by creating a new domain instead.

The etc/hosts file needs to be changed from 127.0.0.1 host to the physical IP address before the start of the installation of 11.1.1.5.

weblogic server installation is perfect no errors at all.
i also got the errors i got during installation ( im_emagent.mk and while running command gcc) . but thanks to OTN Forums i had managed to find out a fix. but on this error only solution i got is
TRY WINDOWS . but what about linux then? is there any solution on this error?

Kindly Help...You can just copy the relevant parts (the ones marked with error). You can also look at the timing
when it happened the reports environment did not start.
From what i remember this could be a memory issue, standard every managed server (WLS_FORMS and WLS_REPORTS) instance
is configured with 1024m bytes of memory.
What we did is first install a forms instance and after that a reports instance. After the forms installation we adjusted the
memory parameters in setWLSEnv (<middleware-home>/user_projects/domains/<domain-name>/bin). Look in this file
for references to WLS_FORMS (something similar to: if [ "${SERVER_NAME}" = "WLS_FORMS" ] ; then).
Another thing which springs to my mind is, which products did you select. If you just want Forms and Reports
you can select just the following:
- Oracle Forms
- Oracle Reports
- Developer Tools aan.
- Management Components
- Oracle HTTP Server
and deselect the other options:
- Oracle Portal
- Oracle Discoverer
- Oracle WebCache
- Clustered (if you are not using clustering)
We also had to fix the following files (i do not think that you have to do this since your Forms did not show any problems):
- (On Windows) Copy the file msvcr71.dll (FMW/windows/extra) to WINDOWS/system32.
- Copy the file mod_wl_ohs.so (FMW/<operating-system>/extra) to <middleware-home>/as_1/ohs/modules. -

I face a problem when I install BIEE 11.1.1.5.0 , it failed at Creating ASInstance Error . Can anyone help me ? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply and advice, but I dont think that is the root cause,since this is the 1st time installation in this machine.(Configure Ports: Auto Port Configuration)

I am trying to install OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 Enterpise install on Linux-64 bit system.
It got failed at "Configuration Action : Creating ASInstance has failed "
Can anybody help me here.

Creating ASInstance failed obiee11115(software only) configuration failed

OBIEE11115/6 simple install is working fine on my windows 7 Home edition sp1 64bit os.the problem when i am trying to install obiee11.1.1.5/6 "software only" installation time only getting the error message like "Creating ASInstance failed" for more refer my screen short

Steps and configuration Details:
1) installed looback adoptor and static ip updated in host/hosts/etc file
host/hosts/etc file info:
FYI:

10.10.1.7 deva-pc
and also there is no folder space b/w temp,tem,and java path.
2)jrockit-jdk1.6.0_29 64 bit (setted java path and TEMP,TMP space 4GB each) java running and Static IP running fine.
3) install RCU 11.1.1.5.0 64bit win
4) weblogic 10.3.5 win 64 bit install and we can able to create weblogic domain on weblogic itself.
5) installed obiee11.1.1.5.0 successfully and when i trying to configure obiee from C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_BI1\bin\config.cmd only getting below error meaase.
also setted JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS=" -mx2048m -XX:MaxPermSize=2048m" in oraparam.ini file.

After checking the installation log the instance home directory is not empty hence it is failing to create an instance with the same name.
then i tired to create with different instance name and then continue with the configuration.its installed sucessfully and its working fine.

OBIEE 11.1.1 installation error "Create a Instance" Stage 13 got failed
First I have tried to install OBIEE 11.1.1 on Win 7 64 Bit Machine and It got failed and then I search for the error .. after searching and searching I changed loop back address (127.0.0.1) to my physical machine and then I restart it ... and again it got failed at the same stage 13 .. create an instance.
Then I have tried to install it on Oracle VM (Win XP) and it got failed on the same stage 13 .. Create an instance ..

Yes, there is no specific cryptography software for windows server 2008 and whatever u have chosen is correct.
Fom the following error message I could see where the issue arises.

I think you have not set the following ENV variable for the SAPRouter admin user (in your case soladm) and hence the sapgenpse tries to import the certificate in the SOLADM user's document folder.
Set the following variables for the user SOLADM and then try to import the certificate as mentioned in the [link|http://service.sap.com/saprouter-sncdoc].
SECUDIR = E:\usr\sap\saprouter
SNC_LIB = E:\usr\sap\saprouter\nt-x86_64\sapcrypto.dll

Unable to create ASInstance while configuring Oracle Fussion Middleware
Hi,
I installed the Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g on my XP, while configuring (running the config.bat file), I'm getting an error when trying to create the ASInstance.
I did the following and I'm still not able to create an ASInstance :
- uninstalled and installed the weblogic server and Oracle Fusion Middleware and retried the configuration procedure.
- used the opmnctl tool to start the ASInstance i got the following error opmnctl : ORACLE_INSTANCE not set
- made sure that the MSVCR71.dll is available in the system & system32 folder
Please can anyone help to solve this problem so i can continue the Oracle Fusion Middleware configuration procedure ?

I tried to edit the oui\oraparam.ini file while a simple install was in flight on step 12 of 14 but the same error was raised at the same place in the next step 13 of 14 - Create ASInstance.
Deleting the OBI Home directory and dropping / recreating the Repository (RCU) takes a lot of time and requires a reboot between each iteration.
I came up with this script to drop the repository and prep the database for reinstall via RCU:
drop user DEV_BIPLATFORM cascade;
drop user DEV_MDS cascade;
drop tablespace DEV_BIPLATFORM including contents and datafiles;
drop tablespace DEV_IAS_TEMP including contents and datafiles;
drop tablespace DEV_MDS including contents and datafiles;
truncate table system.schema_version_registryThe note also suggests doing a software only install followed by a configuration.
The install guide says a "software only" option installs software binary files in an existing Middleware home for later configuration and is for when you have a Middleware Home already (for example from a SOA install) I don't have an existing Middleware install and am not sure what I would need to install first. The installer explains "An Application Server must already be installed"
What would I need to install before running the OBIEE installer?

I repeatedly run into the same error: when I try to install OBI EE 11.1.1.5 (Oracle Enterprise Linux 5, 32 or 64 bit - tried both), I keep getting "Creating ASInstance failed". Browsed the forum an the support database but can't figure out, what's amiss.
It's a virtual machine image running the network adapter in "host only mode" - so the IP has been the same on all my tries. The hosts file looks like this:
192.168.56.101 localhost.localdomain localhost oracle-pc
192.168.56.101 olaptrain
Any idea appreciated

Just ran the wizard for Anyconnect SSL VPN, created a tunnel group, a vpn pool and added user to it. When trying to logon on the SSL service, it simply says "login failed". I suspect that the user might not be in correct groups or so?
