Error "creating file: 1008:5, -5000 Access Denied Error"

I'm unable to install Flash Player 9 in OS X (10.4.8). I
followed the following tech note:
http://www.adobe.com/go/4aa64290
* I uninstalled Flash Player using the uninstaller
* I repaired disk permissions
* I tried re-installing Flash Player
I still get the error message saying I don't have the
appropriate permissions.
Some background: I'm upgrading from a G5 tower to a new Mac
Pro. I ran the migration utility to copy over my user settings,
apps, etc. I noticed that pages with Flash were crashing the
browser(s) instantly. Of course, that's because the PowerPC version
was previously installed. I uninstalled and tried to re-install.
When I got the above error, searched the support area and found the
tech note saying to uninstall (done), repair permissions (done),
then re-install (fails.)
I'm stumped.
Any suggestions?

I have the same problem, after trying more than a few times
to install the
player, uninstall it, uninstall the Firefox 2, reinstall
Firefox... with the
same result : it says that I need a plugin, and put me to the
page of the Flash
player installer...
I had this new error message after erasing, as it was
proposed on a forum, the
Internet plug-ins directory... "creating file: 1008:5, -5000
Access Denied
Error"
I never had this message before. I have all the rights and
have installed lots
of softwares. I tried to use the terminal way... but this is
a long way for me
on a Mac... I would be able on a PC but I can't even
"navigate to this
directory"...
Do I have to say that this Flash player is now quite
important for lots of web
sites... This is really the first time I have a problem with
Flash. Is it the
Intel Mac ?? No, it seems Windows have also its probs. Thanks
for a reply... or
a solution !

I am the only administrator on this MacBook Pro running OS 10.8.3. I created an admin logon, too, but got exactly the same results.

You need to get version 12 or 14.

  • I am trying to install software. I keep getting error message: 1008:9,-5000 Access denied Error. Plus: "You don't have enough access privileges for this installation." I have Administration privileges on MY machine. So, why can't I install software on it?

The machine I am trying to install on is a MacBook Pro. The software is for an IRIScan express 2 scanner. It says (and provides a disc containing the software) it is compatible with Mac OS.
In System reqirements it states the following:
This is the minimal system configuration required to use Readiris:
a Mac OS computer with a G3 processor.
the operating system Mac OS X version 10.2 (“Jaguar”). Earlier ver- sions of the Mac OS operating system are not supported!
110 MB of free hard disk space.
I have no idea what (nor where to find out if it has) a G3 processor is. My machine has Mountain Lion. Is this "above" or "below" "Jaguar"?
    Any assistance will be appreciated.

    I'll try Silverfast.
Err... Try VueScan first. VueScan have one-for-all software, Silverfast - lot of modules for specific scanners. If they not have version for your specific scanner - no chances.
VueScan works with at least some IRIS models: http://applejac.typepad.com/applejac_macintosh_users/2009/05/vuescan-universal-s oftware-image-capture-tool.html
And I see 10.7-10.8 support on IRIS page: http://www.irislink.com/c2-1628-189/Mac-OS-compatibility-support.aspx

  • "Error creating file: 1008:5, -5000 ... on Mac OS X

While some are able to use Disk Utility to repair permissions
(plus the chmod suggestion) for at least two users on this board,
including myself on two separate MacBooks, this is not working.
The installer is clearly wonked. Maybe it is because I run as
non-admin and with FileVault turned on but the reality is that the
    FlashPlayer installer isn't.
****How can it be expected to work, after all, when it
doesn't even ask for an admin password!!!!!****
I have repaired permissions numerous times, chmoded Firefox,
restarted, used the Uninstall Utility (which only works from an
admin account, by the way), made the permissions wide open on the
Internet Plugins folder which is where the install, for me anyway,
fails (it seems to be unable to install flashplayer.xpt when it
fails), looked in the logs to no avail, tried to install logged in
as admin, etc all to NO AVAIL.
Given this is a *security* update there should never be this
    much angst.

    OK, finally got FlashPlayer installed.
It is a [ridiculous] SIX+ part solution.
First, log out of your non-admin account.
Second, log into your admin account. NOTE, you can't just
fast user switch as it won't work. This was what prevented it from
    working for me earlier.
Third, if you are running a non-Safari browser you need to
either delete the application or change the permissions on part of
the application per this tech note:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=4aa64290&sliceId=1
Fourth, run Disk Utility and repair permissions.
    Fifth, run the installer.
Sixth, if you had to change permissions per the tech note,
    change them back.
Seventh [optional], run Disk Utility and repair permissions
to fix the broken ones from the FlashPlayer install.
For a major software company to be unable to get an
installer! correct is really, really embarrassing. It NEVER tells
you that it needs to be run from the admin account, probably
because the earlier versions would prompt you for your admin
password, but this latest update doesn't. Oops.

  • Quicktime file error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unkown

    Hey All,
I'm trying to import a QuickTime file of a screen capture I took. In QuickTime player I went to file-new screen recording and created a .mov file of my screen. I saved it as a .mov file, a H.264 1080p .mov file, I tried re-exporting it as an Apple ProRes 422 .mov file, I tried saving it as a m4v file and nothing will import to FCP7. I get this error: "file error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unkown"
I read that if file is a reference and not self contained then it won't import, but I've saved it self contained many ways. I don't know what to do anymore, please help!

FCP doesn't work natively with H.264, M4V, MP4 or other MPEG formats.  Try converting to ProRes again,

  • Help!  File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown.

    Hi folks,
I just recently upgraded to Final Cut Studio and while my first week of working went smoothly, I'm now beginning to have a weird issue. Whenever I export a clip to work in motion without embedding the motion content, and then try and import the new motion file, I get the following error message:
File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown.
I'm using the standard steps to export and import the clip, and what's more I was initially able to do it with no problem. I've already downloaded all the relevent updates, and I've also tried creating a test user. The test user gets the same result. Even weirder, occasionally (though not everytime) despite giving me that error, I will discover that the video layer did import as it's own sequence instead of as a clip, and with none of the motion elements.
My apps are installed on a PowerMac G5 DualCore 2.3 GHZ, I have a gig of ram, and my scratch disk is an external dedicated Firewire drive.
Motion files will import if they originated in motion with no video layer, but that's kind of a drag when the whole point of having all these apps in one box is to be able to keep your workflow streamlined.
I've seen other posts with error message, but I couldn't find any answers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Avi

The only other things I can think of are: 1) try re-installing QuickTime by deleting the QuickTime related receipts (In /Library/Receipts) downloading the installer from http://www.quicktime.com/ and running it... and 2) have you done the "Pro Apps" update? Search the Motion Forum for a link. Which brings me to my final thought - ask your question there. You'll find more Motion experts there that may offer new thoughts...

  • File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown • PLEASE HELP!

This is REALLY hurting business as nothing seems to work. I wll explain what is going on. When i attempt to log a clip, the clip doesn't show up in the bin. When i do a capture now, the clip doesn't show up in the bin, but when i look at the Final Cut Pro Documents/Capture Scratch folder the clip is there. If i try to drag the clip in the bin i get the error message (File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown). Our system has the AJA i/O and a KONA LHe card. I have removed the KONA LHe card, and i did not plug back in the connections for the XSERVE RAID. I am now zeroing out the drive (FRESH FACTORY REINSTALL), and i have installed Final Cut Studio 2 first, but i made all of the software upgrades first. Even when i did that i still got the error message "File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown." Can someone please help me as i have a commercial due tomorrow and as it stands i am SCREWED! I'm sure that you feel my pain, but nothing is working. It won't let me import any file from any drive because i will get the error message "File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown"

Installation is complete on all of the updates and i installed Final Cut Studio 2. I still have not hooked up my Lacie drives (2 500 GB drives stripped to 1TB RAID), and i have not hooked back up my XSERVE RAID. I opened Final Cut and used my second internal drive and imported in audio from that drive. IT WORKED! Now i need to hook up the Lacie drives and see if i can import something from that drive. I have not installed the AJA i/O drivers yet. Trying to go one step at a time to see what is happening. Please advise someone.

  • Iam trying to import a short video in final cut express and I'm getting this error... File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown.  How do I solve this problem? The video is on my desktop it's an mpg.

Iam trying to import a short video in final cut express and I'm getting this error... File Error: 1 file(s) recognized. 0 access denied, 1 unknown. How do I solve this problem?  The video is on my desktop and it's an mpg file. Please help me

Get a copy of MPEG Streamclip and convert your MPG file to QuickTime/Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC).  In FCE, select one of the setups that uses AIC that best matches your clip (say, 1920x1080i60).  Create a new sequence, then import the converted file.
Note that if your MPG file is actually MPEG2 you will also need the QuickTime MPEG2 Component in addition to MPEG Streamclip.
What was the source of the MPG file?  How about if you open it in QuickTime, then do Window > Show Movie Inspector.  Tell us what it says for codec/compression, frame size & frame rate.

  • Cannot use Offline Files with DFS share: "Access denied" error for DfsrPrivate in Sync Center

    Hello,
I have an infrastructure that uses DFS to move files to different sites and we are using a GPO to define Offline Files for users at those sites. Whenever we try to initiate a manual sync, an error stating "Access
denied" is generated for all DfsrPrivate directories and the Sync Center reports it as a failed sync. We have tried giving Domain Users, Everyone, and invidiual accounts Write, Modify and even Full Control permissions to the DfsrPrivate directories and
as it seems, only users with administrative access and allowed to sync properly. Is there something obvious I'm missing here?
    -Girard

    Hi,
I cannot help test on this moment but we should not create offline files on DfsrPrivate folders which will cause issue. Try to exclude those folders as Offline Files and it should work in Sync Center.

  • "file error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown."

I have raw footage that was created as a high definition mpg on a PC but I can't open it on my mac. I've tried everything..Perian, the Quicktime mpeg-2 upgrade, handbrake...but nothing will let this play on my computer. When I try to play it on Quicktime it says "OSStatus Error -50." It won't even let me copy it on to my desktop. I know the file is not corrupt because it plays on a PC. Can anyone help please??

So MPEG Streamclip can't read it either. You need to take the file back to your PC user and find out what codec made the file and if it can be converted to something you can use.

  • I get the error message FILE ERROR: 1 FILE(S) RECOGNIZED, 0 ACCESS DENIED, 1 UNKNOWN.

The file is a regular mp4 movie file at 36.7MB. I don't understand the issue here? All the other files import just fine. The movie plays on my computer just fine, it uploads to facebook and other sites just fine. I just want to use some of the footage for my reel. Why won't it import to final cut? What am i doing wrong? How can i fix this? it must be a setting or maybe i have to change the file type. If so, whats the step by step process on that? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Mp4s are the only files i have to edit with. I only have copies of the final projects on a dvd and i have to rip them from that to upload them and edit them together. Is there a way to change the format? What format should I be using? When I get the copies of the films should I ask for a particular format that they can give me? And if so, what is that? i use handbrake to rip the dvd. Maybe i can change the format there?
I opened the infomation window (thank you for that info by the way) and it says my user has read & write permissions and its not locked or anything. Any other thoughts?

I've been trying to reinstall Freehand MX on my Mac G4,

While Starman does his midnight surfing (he probably calls it sleep), allow me to drop in with my 2 cents' worth!
Despite the fact that you seemingly don't actually have Flash installed, as evidenced by those two files not being found (and they should be in the Internet Plugins Folder on your main hard drive, not in the one in your home account), try this:
Adobe FlashPlayer should first be uninstalled using the appropriate uninstaller available here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=2 and then the latest version obtained from here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash and installed.
(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.)
After installation you should repair permissions and restart.

  • Access denied error when starting DIAdem from LabVIEW

We are using the DIAdem Connectivity Toolkit in our application.  Our application starts a DIAdem session to handle querying and datasheet creation.  On a recent installation at a customer, our application was not able to communicate with DIAdem, i.e. we get an Access Denied error when our application tries to start up DIAdem.
The location of the error is in the DIAdem Open Connection.vi.  I believe it is when the Automation Open is run.
Is there some system setting that could be blocking communication between the two, i.e. ActiveX setting, etc?  If so, where could we control these settings from?

    Hello Derrick,
While cBauer is away from the office, I will be working with this case on his behalf.  I will try to answer your questions as best I can to determine what might be causing this failure.
    1. The error which we encounter is an "Access Denied" error (as stated above).  I am currently investigating the error code, and will update this post accordingly when I have it.
    2. Our application is a built (.exe) application using LabVIEW 8.5 and DIAdem 10.2
    3. We do not install the toolkit directly on the customers machine as this is a built application.  We install the FULL LabVIEW 8.5 Runtime engine, as well as a licensed copy of the DIAdem 10.2 Basic edition.
    4. The error occurs in run-time environment at a customer site.  We have been unable to duplicate the error in development.
    5. We're using the "DIAdem Open Connection.vi" from the DIAdem.dll library to initialize the connection (this is the VI which appears to be producing the error via the "Automation Open" node), and we're using the "DIAdem Close Reference.vi" from the same library to close the reference.
    6. I will instrument a simple application which performs these tasks and post the results when we have tried this operation.
    7. I am unsure whether the repair operation has been attempted.  I will verify this behavior and again post the results to this forum.
Thank you for your help.  Please let me know if you require additional information.  Hopefully we can discover a solution to our problem.
    Ken
