Error creating OC4J instance on OAS 10g

I just installed Oracle OAS 10.1.2.0.2 on Windows server 2003
I used my httpd.conf , dadas.conf, rwservlet_properties of my old server and made the hostname change etxc....
The database and the liststerner seems UP and Running but I can't create an OC4J instance. I have this message :
The OracleAS Repository API threw an exception when obtaining the connect string to the Metadata Repository
I'm sure there is something wrong with my installation, I'm a bit new to OAS.
Here is my ouput of opmnctl status for both INFRA and OAS :

Are you doing this using the EM GUI? Or using dcmctl?
Either way, I'd try to remove the lk file that you had (no idea why that file was around - did you do multiple installs on the same box?)
and then retry the operation.

    Andy,
    Check the state of your repository using 'dcmctl getState' command. If you get an error or 'In Sync Status' for one of the component is shown as 'false', try to resync the instance using 'dcmctl resyncInstance'.
    If resyncInstance succeed, remove the OC4J instance/component that you were trying to add initially and create it again using removeComponent and createComponent commands.
    If resyncInstance fails, shutdown (if possible) all OracleAS instances in DCM-Managed OracleAS Cluster (if any). Shutdown all process of the instance (using 'opmnctl stopall' command) including OracleAS Control Console (using 'emctl stop iasconsole') and start the instances again (using 'opmnctl startall' and 'opmnctl startproc ias-component=dcm-daemon'). Remember to first start the OracleAS instance that is acting as repository host for File-based repository (if any).
    Now check the instance state, list of components and list of applications. If problem persist, please contact Oracle Support by logging a TAR to further diagnose and help resolve this issue.

    Could you please help me? I have search through the forum but I couldn't find anything that solves my problem. As I've read in this post (https://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=10596716), I've tried to set the value of the variable bpel.config.transaction to requiresNew instead of required but it isn't working.
    I suppose it has to do with the new version of the server but I can't find anything to solve it :(
    Thank you in advance!!! I hope you can help me!
    Best regards.

    Frank,
    I tried to follow the example. This is the file: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_53/labs/restsolution.zip
    The other part of the exercise is to develop an ADF Client.
    At "Step 5: Create the Model Components" when I create the URL_Get the error appears and don't create the datacontrol.
    I check the links and RESTConn and are OK.
    I hope this helps.

    And following while creating a new OC4J instance:

    According to google the OALL8 has something to do with the JDBC driver.

    Are you doing this using the EM GUI? Or using dcmctl?
    Either way, I'd try to remove the lk file that you had (no idea why that file was around - did you do multiple installs on the same box?)
    and then retry the operation.

  • Problem with two OC4J instances in Oracle 10g AS

    hi all,
    i am using windows XP(OS), Oracle 10g Application Server.
    when i create two instances of OC4j other than home instance, say instance1 and instance2 and deploy two different applications in two instances then i get "page not found" error.
    both the applications gets deployed successfully and different ports get selected for both applications internally.
    the thing is when i stop one of the above instance, say instance1 the instance2 works fine and doesnt throw an error. the moment i start instance 1 both the instance gives the above stated error.
    Can anyone help??
    thanks in advance!!

    Also, I am opening the sub-page from the parent page (through a hyperlink). Then in this case, Would session will be changed from parent to subpage? (I am not aware exactly and have the impression that, as the second page is a child, I guess it would take the same session).I'm not sure what "sub-page" or "parent page" means to you. If you're just linking from one page to another, "parent" and "child" don't really make sense since page A links to page B and B links to A quite frequently.
    Assuming that you have to log in to access the site, it is likely that the two pages share the same middle tier application session. It is unlikely that the middle tier would hold the database session from the first request open waiting to see if the user eventually requested the second page. It is theoretically possible that you could code your middle tier this way but it is extremely unlikely that you would want to do so for a variety of reasons. So, when you say "would [the] session ... be changed", it is likely that the application session would be the same for both calls but that the database session would be different.

  • Unable to create OC4J instance - out of sync instance

    RDBMS Version: 9.2.0.0
    Operating System: W2K
    Product Version: 9.0.4.0.0
    JDK Version: 1.4.2_03
    Error number: ADMN 705021
    Hi
    I am trying to create an OC4J instance using EM. When I do, I receive the
    following error message:
    The operation failed...<instance_name>. See base exception for details. Root
    cause: Error encountered executing command <oracle_home>\bin\emtcgtcl -add
    <oracle_home> -EMDROOT <oracle_home>_agent. Error in writing input.
    I issued a dcmctl listcomponents command at this point and the container I
    was trying to create shows in the list. I also issued dcmctl updateconfig
    and getstate commands. I then get a ADMN 705021 error: The configuration
    files for this 10g instance are inconsistent with the configuration shared
    in the repository...Check the logs at $ORACLE_HOME\dcm\logs.
    To try and resolve the problem, I used note 238393.1 Troubleshooting DCM
    Repository Out of Sync Errors. I checked all configuration files existed.I
    then checked the repository components list, creating fake directories for
    those components that showed using dcmctl listcomponents, and then
    consequently removed those components. When I removed them, I would receive
    an ADMN 906025 error, but the component would be removed. I checked that the
    deployed applications list was correct using dcmctl listapplications, and it
    was. However I would also receive the following error message:
    java.io.FileNotFoundException:
    <Oracle_Home>\j2ee\home\application-deployment\wp\jazn-data.tmp (The system
    cannot find the path specified). The directory wp does not exist, so this
    message is accurate.
    I'm kind of at a loss where to start given all these error messages. I guess
    what I need to do is get the instance in sync somehow, and then hopefully be
    able to create an oc4j instance.
    Can anyone suggest an approach given the detail above?
    Regards
    Andy

    Andy,
    Check the state of your repository using 'dcmctl getState' command.
    Regards
    Shail

  • Can't Create OC4J Instance

    Hi,

    While creating new OC4J instance we got the following error:
    "Creation of OC4J instance "App" failed due to the error: Caught exception calling invoke on oc4j:name=Singleton,type=OpmnConfig"
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks in advance :)

    I started restarting the complete application server... It stopped forcefully and then never started...

    I am totally stumped, cant find any instance of this error in docs etc. PLEASE HELP.
    I am trying to setup OAS to SSO with MS AS for oracle ebusiness suite 11i.
    Thanx in Advance,

    Check that your insfrastructure database is up and running, it's accesible, as well, check for OID procs and demons that ports for OID are open and that you can make ldapbind this last may not be necesary as the error say about database, but is good to check also. Go to *$ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs* and check the files there to see if other process are having problems.

  • About creating OC4J instances

    in ocs 9i , one had the option of creating a new oc4j instance in middle tier standalone instance of enterprise manager, in ocs 10g however , such an option only exists for infrastructure. Any idea why is this so ?

    I was wondering the same thing.
    There is a reference to some issues in the release notes(http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B15595_01/relnotes.101/b19091/suite.htm#sthref85), maybe there were stability issues when doing custom depoyments.

  • Error creating an instance of a runnable thread

    I'm trying to create two instances of a runnable thread but get this error message (in Eclipse):
    "No enclosing instance of type GE4000 is accessible. Must qualify the allocation with an enclosing instance of type GE4000 (e.g. x.new A() where x is an instance of GE4000)."
    I don't understand this error at all.
    GE4000 is GE4000.java
    The error occurs here and is within a protected static boolean method.
    for(int t = 0; t < (int) cameraCount; ++t) {
                   streamThreads[t] = new Thread(new CaptureStream(cameraHandle[t], frameBuffers[t], frameCount, basePath));
    CaptureStream Class is defined:
         public class CaptureStream implements Runnable {
    the constructor is:
         CaptureStream(Pv.tHandle handle, Pv.tFrame[] cameraFrames, int frameCount, String basePath) {
    Ironically, within CaptureScreen's run method I do an analogous creation of another thread without seeing an error.
    Edited: I un-nested it and it works! Thanks

    I'd recommend avoiding using inner classes or at least learning how to use them before actually using them.I'm new at Java and that's why I posted to the forum.
    Or do you really need to have CaptureStream as an inner class?
    In any case you're trying to create one in a static method, where no enclosing instance of the outer class (GE4000) is available. So at the very least you'd need to make it a static nested class.OK, this is my structure:
    public class GE4000 {
    class CaptureStream implements Runnable {
    run() {}
    boolean startStreamCapture() {}
         public static void main(String[] args) {
    startStreamCapture();
    The method startStreamCapture was static and when I made it to non-static the error went away.
    However I can't use the method in main because it's not static.
    Do I understand correctly that the way to solve this is to put class CaptureStream into CaptureStream.java? That is, un-encapsulate it and then make startStream static?
    BTW My original version extended Thread and it compiled (but didn't do what I wanted) the error cropped up when I changed it to implement runnable.
    I appreciate your help.

    Hi Krishna,
    Thanks for the link.
    looks like the same way I installed. I think there is something else I am missing. I guess this is causing because of the oracle instance creation for BI services. Please let me know, if you have any more information on the same.
