"Error determining attribute" after adding navigational attribute to query

Hello all,
We are getting a "Error Error determining attribute, Abort System error in program SAPLRRK0 and form RSRDR;SRRK0f30-01-" error message when running a query after adding a navigational attribute. We tried adding the attribute of the characteristic directly in the query and this works ok. But when we try using the navigational attribute we get the error. We would like to use the navigational attribute so we can filter based on this attribute.
We've searched for notes regarding this problem and haven't found any. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Ron

hi,
Please check if  number of the fields after adding the Navigationl attribute the should not cross 50.
Check the RSRV test for the master data whose navigational attribute u r trying to add.
Thanks

  • DSO Activation Fails after adding navigational attribute

    hi Gurus
I have created a object A using Object B as reference and added Object A into Object C as navigation attribute.
Now my object D which is referenced to Object C also has this object A as attribute and i change to navigational attribute here.
When i try to turn on nav. attribute check box in DSO then DSO activation fails (Error - DS Object Object D__Object A (Master data check) does not exist} and therefore i cant add it as free char. in report. Though i am getting the data in report if i keep dnt turn on nav. attribute option in DSO and activate it.
    Thanks
    BIT

    Hi
Make sure your object A has master data check box checked. For this your referenced object B should have master data check.

  • Adding navigational attributes to a cube

We have upgraded to BW 7.3. Previously when we added navigational attributes to a cube we need to activate the update rules from the ods but now it appears that we don't need to do that anymore. Is this the expected behavaior?  We are using the 3.5 update rules.
    thanks

    HI,
If you are using 3.5, after selecting nav attr in the cube, the cube structure gets deactivated. The dependent update rules also gets deactivated. You will be forced to activate all again.
In BW 7.3, SAP would have given privilege to add without activation. It is good for us. So nothing to worry.

There is not much detail in your log, but I suspect that your OLAP mappings are incomplete or the maintenance of your dimension to load the new attribute data somehow failed. I would check the OLAP AWM build logs for more information.

  • DataLoad-Problem after adding Nav-Attribute to InfoObject

    hi there,
i added a navigational attribute, which i newly created, to an existing infoobject, which had already data loads.
i activated the infoobject and modified the transformationrule to fill the new attribute of the infoobject.
after i activated the transformationrule, i started the infopackage to fill the new attribute.
after the load has finished, i i started a master-data-changerun.
but when i let me show the data in the infoobject, i view only the SID of the infoobject. all other attributes are empty.
i am not using a startroutine in the transformationrule.
when i debug the transformationrule, i can see all values (SIDs and attributes of the infoobject).
i tried the RSRV transaction to check the masterdata of the infoobject, but it shows no errors.
what can i do, to repair the infoobject?
    i'm using BI 7.0.
    regards,
    philipp

    Hi,
First step is the check the data insde P table ( example /BIC/PXXX which will be there in the in master data and text tab)
if you find the data for newely added attributes then it works fine.
    or else
    Delete the master data
programs for individual IinfoObject  master data deletion:
    RSDMD_DEL_BACKGROUND or RSDMD_DEL_MASTER_DATA_TEXTS
then delete the transformation and recreate the transformation followed by DTP once again
activate all atributes individually once again
load data to the infoobject and check it.
you should be able to relove the problem

  • Adding navigational attribute in Info Object.

My staging layer is as below.
    Data source1-> DSO1
    Data source2-> DSO1
    Data Source 3->DSO1
    From DSO1 : there are 3 Transformaitons.
    DSO -> Info Object “ABC”
    DSO1- > DSO2.
    DSO1 -> DSO3.
That means. DSO1 , is supplying data to ABC info object and 2 more DSO's.
I need to Enhance Data Source 1, with Field “X”  add it in DSO and then add that field in Navigational attribute of IO “ABC.
I dont need this field “X” in DSO2 and DSO3.
    Question :
    1) I want to understand its effect on Transformations if I add field in DSO1.
    Data source2-> DSO1
    Data Source 3->DSO1.
    DSO1- > DSO2.
    DSO1 -> DSO3.
    2) Will all these be inactive ( assuming yes, )
         a. Do I need to retransport all the transformations.
b.And if Yes, I assume we need to transport DTP’s too.
    3) Does adding of navigational attribute affect any other Cubes and DSO  or transformations ,containing the main Info Objects. "ABC"..
Note:  This new navigational attribute is not used in any of the old cubes. it wil be used in new design.

    hI,
    1. If add any field to DSO1, then incoming and outgoing transformations will go inactive.
    2. a. Yes.
        b. Yes.
    3. No, but info ABC object transformations may go inactive.
    Thanks

I created report on cubes also and getting same error.
    Please suggest.

    Hi,
Please ensure that the navigational attribute is checked at the attribute level and also at the Infocube level and also check that correct mapping of this navigational attribute is done at the Multiprovider level.

  • Unexpected error durung process after adding a new measure group

I add a new measure group with distinct count in my cube
I process my cube then I have:
Erreur interne : Une erreur inattendue s'est produite. Erreurs dans le moteur de stockage OLAP : Une erreur s'est produite lors du traitement de la partition 'Requirement' du groupe de mesures 'Formalized 1' pour le cube 'Requirements_view' à partir de la

If I delete this measure, it works well.
Whap happens ? How could I resolve it ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Fiacre663,
According to your description, you encounter the error while processing the cube after added the distinct count to cube, right? In your scenario, which process option are you used to process the cube?
Generally, if you add a measure you are changing the structure of the cube which will invalidate the cube, the easiest way to get the cube "fully operational" again would be to do a ProcessFull. The same thing applies when removing a measure.
Besides, please ensure that the steps to add distinct count are correct. There are different options for creating a distinct count measure in SSAS. Please refer to the link below to see the details.

    Hi,
Just the exception stack without any information like what JDev version, what expression you've used for the default value of the transient attribute etc., is not enough for us to help you.

If I clear all the data in the cube and load the new attribute, it will save and restructure. I can then add all of the data back in and actually add or remove attribute members and the cube will save and restructure itself. I have tried to up the memory setting on the application - in various increments - up to 1.5GB with no difference in performance. While I can (may have to) live with the fact that I can load the attributes in during the nightly rebuild cycle by placing them in the correct build order in the MaXL scripts, I can no longer run an update for that attribute in EAS console on demand. Has anyone else had this problem with a large number of attribute dimensions in their ASO cube and if so, how have you gotten around it. As a side note, I cannot compress the outline even after clearing the data and aggregations. The "Compact Outline" routine hangs and I have to kill EAS to stop the process. Thanks,

Have you taken the new RAM stick out yet?
Powerbooks can pretty picky when it comes to RAM.

  • Help adding navigational attribute to IC

    Hi all,
i'm adding a new nagigational attr. to a characteristic, i checked it on an already existing and loaded InfoCube. Then when opening an existing query the new nav. attr. appears so i add it to the free characteristics. I can save the query and everything looks fine, but when i run the query it shows an error saying that the nav. attr. doesn't exist on the InfoCube.
how can i solve this ?
i already tried exiting query designer and entering again, even doing the same on BW.
    thx in advance

    hi,
u need to select and activate nav attr in cube..

  • Runtime Error in SE16 after adding fields in VBAK (ABAP-SD)

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where I need to add a field in the header item of VA03,
So I have add new field or APPEND structure in VBAK.
I appended structure ZZLAND1 having component field LAND1 in VBAK.
In SE11, structure ZZLAND1 is activated and has no log of errors.
In SE14, table VBAK is successfully adjusted as well and no log of errors.
When I execute SE16, I have runtime error:
    Short text
SQL error in the database when accessing a table.
    Missing Handling of System Exception
        Program                                 /1BCDWB/DBVBAK

        Module Name                             START-OF-SELECTION

    545   WHEN 'ANZE'.
    546 try.
547 SELECT * FROM VBAK                     "client specified  <<-- Error Occurs here

549                  UP TO RSEUMOD-TBMAXSEL ROWS BYPASSING BUFFER
    550    WHERE VBELN IN I1.
Am I missing any other part here?  In VBAP, after I added a field, I didn't encounter this one.
    Thanks all.

As we see you have done everything correctly. However check whether following things are also in place:
The fields of an append structure must lie in the customer namespace, that is the field names must begin with ZZ or YY. This prevents conflicts with fields inserted in the table by SAP.
An append structure must be flat, that is each field of the append structure must either refer to a data element or be directly assigned a data type, length, decimal places and short text.
If a foreign key or search help attachment is already defined for a field in the table, you cannot change this definition with the append structure.

  • Runtime error in CRM_DATAEXCHG_BADI after adding customer fields using EEWB

    Hi gurus,
I am getting short dump in ZCL_IM_EEW_DATAEXCHANGE06~CRM_DATAEXCH_AFTER_BAPI_FILL.
I've added 3 custom fields in ORDERADM_I structure using EEWB. ( created in ECC also ).
Now when i create a sales order, its not flowing to ECC as i am getting the below error.
    UC_OBJECTS_NOT_CONVERTIBLE
Error occured while executing below statement
    MOVE <ls_bape> TO ls_bapiparex_wrk+lc_offset.
<ls_bape> is having all the custom fields i've created using EEWB.
Error short text i am getting in st22: ' Data objects in Unicode programs cannot be converted.'
    Kindly help.
    regards,
    Arun N K.

    Hi Robert,
    Thanks for the reply.
I was not able to use move-corresponding as there was no matching fields in the destination structure.
Anyway we found out the issue. One of the custom fields generated using EEWB, used INT4 data element. I deleted the field and created it again using character (NUMC) data element, and it worked fine.
I still don't know the exact problem of using integer data element. Kindly share if anyone find the reason.
    Thanks,
    Arun N K.

  • Error while changing the Display Attribute into Navigational Attribute

    Hi all.. Gud Mrng.
I was changed the attribute (product) from display attribute into navigational attribute and while save and activating the info object it is not getting activated and it is throwing the below error message.
Error Message: u201CThe Info object is being used in several data targetsu201D
    My Questions:
    i)     Do I need to delete the data from all the data targets (where this info object is using)??
ii)     Do I need to delete data only from the main info object (Zmaterial)? Is this single action enough?
Please suggest me which action I need to follow & What are the precautions need to take while changing the Display Attribute (product) into Navigational attribute of info object (Zmaterial).
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks & Regards,
    B Venugopal

    Hi Garima
Only in case of key figures we cannot change it from display to navigational.
If the info object is a characteristics then in the General tab of the info object if you select 'attribute only' then the iobj would be a display attribute only. If you leave it unmarked then you can use the iobj as a navigational atribute.
I am sure you know that these settings only mean if a IOBJ can be used as display or navigational.  To  use it as a navigational within another object you will have to change the settings from 'DIS' to 'NAV' for the said info object in the 'Attributes' tab of its parent info object.
Further if you use the parent info object in any data target / infio provider you will have to further mark the info object as 'navigational' while defining the attrbute of the said data target / info provider. The info object gets displayed in the data target / info provider attribute properties as 'parent IOBJ_info object'
    Cheers
    Umesh
