Error discarding checkout when 'Use my Local Draft folder' is checked
We are getting the error 'The system cannot find the file specified. (Exception from HRESULT 0x80070002)' when discarding checkouts in our production 2010 environment. Steps to repro are:
upload a file to a document library (OOB Shared Documents is fine)
check the document in the library view
Choose 'check out'
Check 'Use my local drafts folder' when prompted, if it is not checked by default
Once checked out, check the box again and choose 'discard check out'
After the browser hangs for a bit, we get the error above. We've reproed this on multiple machines, but mine is 64bit Windows 7 with IE 8.
Browsing to 'SharePoint Drafts' on the client machine confirms the file is present. I suspected UAC or Protected Mode, based on similar issues posted online about SP 2007. However, I've confirmed protected mode is off for this site, and it is
listed as 'Local Intranet', with the default settings for that zone.
Hi danroot,
Please send the screenshot of the error into the forum.
What is your Internet Explorer’s version? Is it 32 bit or 64 bit?
If you use 32 bit, try to use Internet Explorer 64 bit, then check the effect.
Which account did you use to log into the client and SharePoint site? Are they the same account?
Make sure the account who log into the client has enough permission the “SharePoint drafts” folder.
Try to use another account to log into the SharePoint site, check the effect.
Hope this is helpful.

Use my local drafts folder - Some Yes, Some No
Hello,
I have recently upgraded to MOSS 2007. When checking out a file some of my users get the prompt to use my local drafts folder and some do not. Does anyone know why not all users are getting this prompt?
Thank you,
DanHi,
If the program that you want to use to edit the file is compatible with Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, you may see a message that asks if you want to work with the file as a local draft. If you want to work on a copy of the file on your hard disk, leave the “Use my local drafts folder” check box selected. If you want the draft copy to be stored on the server while it is checked out to you, clear the check box.
If you are checking out a file that was created by a program that isn't compatible with Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, the Use my local drafts folder check box does not appear and you cannot work with the file offline
For more information about Check out file, please refer to: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointserver/HA101535701033.aspx

SharePoint "Use my local drafts folder" not to be displayed
Hi,
Is it possible to prevent SharePoint from displaying “Use
my local drafts folder” dialog box and
disable this option on default so users won't be able to store files locally?I see a similar thread here - http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/f7e2ee0d-92ff-4bfe-95e7-1ba7b95514cc/disable-the-use-my-local-drafts-folder-option-in-sharepoint-2010-open-document-dialog-box?forum=sharepointgeneralprevious
which mentions that You can not directly edit that dialog (it's an activex control client side). But you can set
group policy to modify the office client behavior

Missing "Use My Local Drafts Folder" Checkbox
We work with Office 2010 32 bit and SharePoint 2010. After we update the Lync to 2013 version, we find in SP at check out "Use My Local Drafts Folder" checkbox does not appear any more. I read this article
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/27e03f00-7549-4ca9-8973-9620ce40a78c/no-checkbox-appears-in-dialong-box-to-use-local-drafts-folder?forum=sharepointadminprevious, it said The “Use my local drafts folder” functionality has
been removed for Office 2013. Actually we didn't install Word, Excel 2013.... But since Lync 2013 belongs to Office 2013 now, perhaps during install of Lync 2013 some office 2013 features or components have been also installed.
I need a workaround, because we don't plan to update to Office 2013 and SharePoint 2013. Can I uninstall some office 2013 components to active "Use My Local Drafts Folder" again?I have found the solution. I uninstall the "Office Shared Features" and "Office Tools" from Lync 2013 and keep just Lync 2013 component. Then I have repaired the Office 2010. After that I see "My Local Drafts Folder"
again and Lync 2013 works also. Yeah :-) -
No checkbox appears in dialong box to "use local drafts folder"
Using Windows 8.1, ,Word 2013, and IE 11. When I edit a document from SharePoint Foundation 2010 (Hosted), no checkbox appears in the Microsoft Internet Explorer dialog box to "use local drafts folder". As a result, no SharePoint
Drafts folder is created in the location specified under Word 2013 Save Option for offline editing and the SharePoint file is not downloaded locally. I performed the following troubshooting steps below with no fix so far.
1) Confirmed that "SharePoint OpenDocuments Class" is "enabled" as an add-on under IE.
2) Confirmed that Word 2013 Save setting for offline editing are marked as follows:
Save checked-out files to “The server drafts location on this computer”
Server draft location: \\users\xxxx\documents\SharePoint Drafts
3) Tried the SharePoint checkout and editing on a Windows 7, IE 11, Word 2010 workstation and there was no issue. Checkbox appears.
I've exhausted all resources. Please assist with providing next steps. Unable to load a Screen shot below due to account validation critieria.
Kind regards,
Nancy PageHi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to display the “use local drafts folder”.
In Office 2013 it is by design.
The “Use my local drafts
folder” functionality has been removed for Office
2013.
This step has been done in order to improve the Client/Server communication by removing some of the redundant network calls generated by this process.
In order to get office files synchronized with SharePoint document libraries you could
use SkyDrive Pro instead.
SkyDrive Pro is getting installed with Office 2013 but is available as a standalone setup as well. But please note that SkyDrive Pro requires to have a SharePoint server
2013 installed or a O365 subscription, which brings SPO
2013.
If you want to use the “use my local drafts folder”, you should install the Office 2010 instead of Office 2013.
Thanks & Regards,
Jason

Errors/warnings occurred when generating the local proxy dll and VI wrappers for web service
Hello,
I'm new to web services - trying to import a WSDL that was created by an outside vendor and placed on a company server. I imported a previous version successfully. The error I'm getting doesn't make a lot of sense to me, here it is:
The following errors/warnings occurred when generating the local proxy dll and VI wrappers for this web service.
Can't generate files.
Possible reasons are:
1. The output file(s) might be read-only.
Remove the read-only attribute and import the Web service again.
2. A proxy DLL that LabVIEW created under the same file path exists in memory.
Restart LabVIEW and import the Web service again.
I don't see any read-only attributes on the output files and I've tried restarting LabVIEW - no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Al Rauch
Merck & Co., Inc.Aaron,
I was able to successfully import and run the web services from the WSDL file in question in LV2009 on a different computer than the one on which I had the original problem. Unfortunately I am still having the original problem on the project computer and will need to get it working there . . . still looking for a solution to that. Apparently LV2009 is perfectly capable of importing and running this WSDL file, but there is something still in the way on the project PC.
Thanks,
Al -

Hi ahmed,
you can attach picture directly in the forum...
If you would use an error indicator you could read an explanation of the error. It's a "framing error", happening sometimes when using serial connections...

Checking out Pdf files to Local draft Folder option no longer works after office 2013 installed.
Summary :
We are using SharePoint 2010 Ent edition and users were able to checkout Pdf files similar to local drafts folder like any other office file without any problem when they used office 2010.
i.e
Unfortunately ever since their machines upgraded with office 2013 recently , this functionality completely stopped working for PDF files. This has now become a big problem for the users when it comes to check out and replace PDF files.
All browser plugins required for this functionality (i.e SharePoint OpenDocuments Class ) are all available and active. All document libraries are configured to Checkout is required for editing files. Browser version
used at the moment is IE9 (32 bit) version with windows 7.
Can anyone please help with this issue and any help to get away with this problem is much appreciated.Hi,
Based on your description, my understanding is that the PDF files cannot be checked out to local drafts folder after Office 2013 is installed.
Did this issue occur with Office files?
I recommend to check if the Office files can be checked out to local drafts folder with Office 2013.
And it is recommended to use Office 2010 with SharePoint 2010 for best practice.
Thanks,
Victoria

Sanjeev TiwariWhile the steps below are fine for Word (and I gather that Excel, Powerpoint have similar steps), what
about Project 2007? We have Project 2007 SP3, and (a) it doesn't have an Office Button like the core Office 2007 products, and (b) the SharePoint Local Drafts folder isn't listed in the Save options. Please advise!

Hi,
You can change the location of your local drafts folder where your files are placed while they are
checked out to you in Office system program: click “Microsoft Office Button”>select “Word Options”>select “Save”>in
Offline editing options for document management server files> in Server drafts location
box, type the location on your hard disk where you want to work with checked-out files, or click
Browse and find the location.

How can I prevent a memory flow error from occuring when using 3D contour plots?
After displaying a single contour plot a number of times, LabVIEW crashes and reports a memory overflow error. I only load a single 2D array, never storing previouls ones. I always index the data for contour plot 0, and don't explicitly store multiple 2D arrays in any buffer, such as appending data to a shift register. There appears to be some sort of memory leak in LV when using this feature. Is there a programatic way to flush the stored data in a contour plot prior to displaying the next 2D array of data?
Hello MicTomReiSr,
Is this in the LabVIEW development environment? Are you making changes to the code and then running the VI? Does the plot contain default data? Is the indicator cleared when the program stops? The Plot Clean Data method may be what you're looking for.
Remember that the development environment maintains an undo history of the changes you've made, and copies both the block diagram and FP contents each time. If you have a lot of data displayed on the front panel you end up copying it multiple times. This isn't a problem unless you're actively editing the VI in question.
If you do need to edit and run the VI at the same time (perfectly reasonable, although you might want to consider a 64-bit installation or more RAM if you commonly work with resource-intensive data types like 3D plots) try reducing the Undo history length (Tools>>Options), although be aware that you won't be able to back up as many steps.
