Try opening the Terminal utility in your system and running the following command to open the system's caches folder:
open $TMPDIR../C
Then locate and remove the folder called "com.apple.appstore" and then try relaunching the App Store and downloading the installer again.

If new versions of iPhoto and the other iLife applications (iMovie and GarageBand) were purchased by the previous owner from the Mac App Store, then they will be locked to the previous owner's Apple ID and cannot be transferred to you. You will have to re-purchase them under your own Apple ID.
If this is an older MBA that came with Snow Leopard or an earlier version of Mac OS X, though, the system would have come with an installation disk that included the iLife applications, a disk which the seller should have provided to you. Those iLife applications would be older versions, of course, and may or may not work in Lion depending on how old they are.

You can ONLY use the itunes store of your country of residence.
You cannot use another countrys itunes store.

planb77 The OP said he has iOS 3. The Automatic in Settings>General>Time and Date was introduced in iOS 5. The OP just has to see if the time and date, included time zone, are correct.

Hello everybody ..I had my app store acount set on Spain and I am in Uk right now ..I am slightly confused because I have tried to download an aplication from App Store and it said to me that my acount is not valid in Uk and that I have to switch it on Spain acount again before downloading any aplication..It allows me to go into Uk store but it has not allowed me to download the aplication ..:( What should I do ? What steps do I need to follow? I really need the aplication ..It is some kind of emergency.

I have created app store account, but I only want to allow my kids to download freeware version from app store..so the kids should ask me to login before they able to purchase something from app store..

What kind of advice do you want? We don't read minds here.
As long as you don't give the kids your password thay can't buy anything. However, your password is good for 15 minutes, if you walk away they could then buy something when you are not looking. So it is best to sign out of the account immediately after the free item has downloaded.
If you remove the bank card from the account they also can't buy anything.

Download installation files from app store to make a bootable USB

Hi,
I just got a new mac mini with OS X Server 10.8.2. I want to replace the original hard drive with an SSD, but I have problems downloading installation files from app store to make a bootable USB stick.
When i click the Purchases button it tells me that OS X Server is already installed, and I'm not able to download the files.
I have tried all the diffrent forms of Option key clicks but nothing works.
Anyone out there who have a solution?
Is it possible to get the installation media in some other way?
By the way. Is it possible to install the non server version on a computer thats bought with the server version pre installed.
I thought so. But I read something about firmware problems on a forum page?

You cannot download Mountain Lion or Mountain Lion Server from the App Store if it was pre-installed on the computer.
You can call Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. They may be willing to arrange a download for you. Or you can reinstall via Internet Recovery: OS X (Lion/Mountain Lion)- About OS X Recovery.
No, you can purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store on the computer you want to install it if it now has Snow Leopard or Lion running.

Unfortunately there's no way around this. you will need that password to update the apps. If he won't give it to you, then i'm not sure what to say.
You should have kept the account with the Apps you bought yourself.
Otherwise, as I said, delete the Apps, and buy them again.

Assuming your mini came with ML installed and you have already made a backup of your personal data, restart the computer while also holding down 'Command-Opt-R' and it should reinstall automagically from Apple's servers.

Bizzare Error message downloading & installing Lion from app store

I have a new i7 2011 macbook pro 13 inch with snow leopard.
I have purchased Lion from App store but is unable to download and install it.
First time I tried to download it, it did not get downloaded so I cancelled the download.
Now I can see OSX Lion in "Purchased" in the App Store.
When I click "Install", I get the following message with two options "Cancel" & "Retry"

When I click "Retry", I get the same message "MZFairplay.frtoolFailure_message" with same two options "Cancel" & "Retry"
When I click "Cancel", I get the following message "We could not complete your request: There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (13)"

I am having the same error when trying to update some apps in the Mac App Store. It is the first time I am experiencing this error.
