Error downloading add-ons.

I'm using Firefox 8.0 beta.
Everytime I try to install an add-on, I get a download error. I have followed the troubleshooting steps, to no avail.
There is no further error info other than 'error downloading file'.
Has anyone else experienced this?
TIA

open about config then type the word compatibility into search then look for nightly disabled chech compatibility change false to true by double clicking on false

  • How can I download multiple YouTube video files SEQUENTIALLY (not simultaneously, the way all the downloader add-ons I've tried do it)? Thanks.)

The more download streams I get going at the same time, the slower each stream gets. Rather than waiting for [all] of them to download before I can watch [any] of them, I would rather have them download one at a time - each in it's turn taking all the bandwidth so as to download as quickly as possible. When the first is done, the downloader would automatically start the next download, etc. Like the way the playlist works in VLC Media Player or Windows Media Player.
Seems like an obvious thing for people to want to do. I have a couple theories on why downloader add-ons do not offer this. Curious to know if I'm right about it. Thanks for your help.

    HI Invent,
In fact, there is a way to donwload one video by one, at least in the add-on I know and use (Video Download Helper - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper)
There, you have to configure it in the Add-on Menu, clicking the the 'Options' button of Video Download Helper, then in the window that pops up you choose "Services" , then 'Download' tab and change the first field (probably called 'Download Mode' in English - I have it here it here in Portuguese now), change it to 'One by one'
If you have doubts in the process, just let me know and I will try to clarify it to you.
    Hope it helps.
    Best Regards,
    Marcus

  • Error: "There was an error downloading (add-on name here)" from the Add-ons Manager tab.

Been trying to install Add-ons but I keep getting that error message, even on the Add-ons website still cant install nothing not even update my currently existing add-ons. Already tried on 3 systems and still the same problem, 2 of them with freshly installed Firefox 12, no previous version installed on the system. Any suggestions or updates soon about this issue?
It also happened with Firefox 11 when the update to Firefox 12 was available.

what kind of network are you on - is it a corporate environment where the download & installation of extension files could be prohibited? you can also try installing an addon with your security software totally disabled once...

  • Killzone Shadow Fall Can't Download Add-Ons

I've deleted the entire game and still can't fix this problem.  I install KZ SF on my PS4, go down to add-ons for the game, start downloading all of the map packs one by one, and at some point, they just won't download anymore.  They don't say installed. I click on the download arrow and nothing happens.  This is very, very frustrating.  If it matters, I have the season pass. Anyone else?

Could it be you are using a game en PS Store that are different regions? To give an example, if you are using a EU disc and have an US PS Store account you can't use the DLC.
If that is not the case could you try restoring your licenses?
Go to settings > PSN > Restore licenses.

  • Safari Download Add-ons or Extension

Hi everyone,I'm looking for an extension or add-ons for safari or google chrome or mozilla firefox thats for speed downloading,if not so then i want a software like IDM for windows

One to avoid is Speed Download. It's not supported on Mavericks >  http://speed-download.en.softonic.com/mac
You are better off not using third party speed download software on a Mac. It will only cause problems.
Better to conatct your ISP for upgrade options.

Cant see it anywhere, its certainly not appearing in my add-ons extensions! I thought It was an issue with the wonderful Java but that seems to be working ok.. I think?

  • I have downloaded add ons for lightroom.  Creative cloud folder is empty...

I am new to  Lightroom 5 and using creative cloud.  I downloaded two add ons and they say they've been downloaded...but, when I go to the folder, it is empty.  Help!

Downloaded from who/where... and were there install instructions?
You will likely get better program help in a program forum Photoshop Lightroom
The Cloud forum is not about using individual programs
The Cloud forum is about the Cloud as a delivery & install process

  • Download add ons

I've SEARCHED and SEARCHED and SEARCHED for this answer and all I can find is that stupid paragraph that tells me nothing. My answer is quite simple:
How do you download the realplayer add-on?
Not fix it, not check it, not look for updates, not "I'm having problems with it" just good 'ole "how do you install it? That's it. Been searching for an hour. NOT THERE.
Clicked on "was this helpful?" hit NO and the answer was, "Sorry about that."
My wish is that you encounter the exact same thing on a question you need answered... seven times.

With the last Firefox upgrade, some plugins are no longer
    enabled until you enable it.
    Open the Add-ons Manager by
Pressing the '''Alt''' or '''F10''' key to bring up the tool bar.
    Followed by; '''Tools > Add-ons.'''
    Hot key; '''<Control> ''(Mac: <Command>)'' <Shift> A)'''
On the left side of the page, select Plugins.
BTW; At the top right is a link to check your plugins.

  • How to access downloaded add ons in windows 8

add ons show in manage addons area, how do find them so I can use them icons not in customize tool bar option McAfee site check add on in on add on bar at bottom but other add ons are not

did a test run of this suggestion on my desktop PC - all worked as detailed in answer. Was able to add/remove icons easily. The icons were also on the view/tools list of options.
On my lap top when I select tools/add ons the add ons are listed (showing what the icon looks like too) the enable/disable box read 'disable' for both add ons
When view/toolbar/customize is selected the add on icons are not present in the box nor on the tool bar
I reset toolbars to default setting with no effect

  • I downloaded add ons but I can't find them anywhere

So where would I find them or how do I use the addons I downloaded

If you installed from the Add-ons site, you should find those add-ons listed here:
    menu > Tools > Add-ons
If you tap an individual add-on, it might have options. Otherwise, you could check whether the add-on added itself to the menu somewhere. If it doesn't show up anywhere in the menus, maybe it has some other UI? For example, Ghostery displays a ghost icon over the page.
If you can't find it anywhere, do you want to mention which add-on(s) you're trying to use?

  • Firefox mobile keeps telling me to download add-ons, I need to get FF mobile. But I'm looking for the add-ons on FF mobile. am I missing something still?

sometimes I can dowload add-ons. I've tried switching btw default and android galaxy tab in the prefs but still no go

It sounds like you are using the Phony add-on to change your User-Agent header. It definitely needs to be set to "Default" for the addons.mozilla.org site to work correctly.
After setting User-Agent to "Default", try going to http://addons.mozilla.org/mobile - you were probably redirected to the wrong section of the site if you originally loaded it with a different User-Agent header.

  • Firefox is opening websites and suggesting I download add-ons that I don't trust.

Since I updated a few weeks ago Firefox keeps randomly opening browser windows and prompting me to download something called "playmediaplayer" and suggesting I update Java to the latest version. In the past Firefox suggested I disable Java because it was a security risk.
Also I have been getting a ton of pop-ups on every website I go to with the exception of secure banking sites. I am concerned that Firefox is not as secure as it should be or used to be.
It is sick with pop-ups and ad's.

hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by malware on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].
