Oh, my gosh, that is happening to me too! I just posted one similar to this, in fact. I do have a guess though. Maybe we need a faster internet service like Broadband or something? I dunno. When I figure it out, I will try to get back on here to let you know. I am glad that I am not the only one with this problem though. I'll stay in touch.

  • Help, i get the 'error downloading purchased music.' what do i do?

i can download music and podcast fine but when i try to purchase a tv show i get the error message "there was an error downloading purchased music. the disk could not be read from or written to" i went to the purchases command in the advanced menu several times with no luck. i have purchased three seperate shows and get the same message. i'm tired of wasting money and would like some help.
    thanks

Hmm... I've never seen a issue exactly like this before personally, but usually you get the "Disk Locked" error when installing iTUnes or adding anything, songs or videos to iTunes folder. go here and follow the instructions http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302398
You may have to uninstall/reinstall iTunes AND quicktime if this does not work. Uninstlling iTunes DOES NOT delete any music, playlist, ratings ect ect

  • Can't download purchased tv shows to original iPad

Cant download purchased tv shows to original iPad.  Sitting in download queue but won't download.

I had my iTunes set to manually update instead of automatically update. I decided to try changing it to set it to automatically sync. Nothing amazing happened then, but the next time that I plugged my iPod into my computer, it started syncing, then a box came up that said "a new version of iPod software 1.2.2 (or something like that)". I said YES, download and install! And VOILA! It works! Huzzah! Tell all your friends!
The bad thing of course is that by automatically updating, I lost some of my songs from my old hard drive, but it was worth it.
    Good luck.

  • HT200109 Why do I have to re-download purchased tv shows?deleted

Why do I have to re-download purchased tv shows? It takes an hour to download a show I've deleted from my IPad. I live in Germany so I can't watch American Tv shows very often. I download the purchased shows from ITunes, then after a while delete from my IPad. As a result, when I want to watch tv on myApple TV I have to wait at least an hour for the show to download. Sometimes I don't have time to wait until it downloads. How can I save the downloaded version so I don't have to keep waiting?

You have iTunes set to delete the show(s) after some amount of time.  This probalby needs to be done as they take up a lot of space and can quickly fill up your iPad or computer.  When you bring up the show on Apple TV are you looking under "TV shows" or "Computer".  If you want to view your local content you need to look under "Computer".  Everything under "TV Shows" on AppleTV is streamed from iCloud.  Last but not least even if you do have to stream it the show should start in less than a minute after it is selected unless there is a serisus network connection issue.

  • "Error downloading purchased music. Disk could not be read or written to.

I just purchased an album. It downloaded 23 of the 25 tracks until it gave me this error: "There was an error downloading your purchased music. The disk could not be read from or written to."
I double checked my hard drive space and found I had about 1 gig left, which is a small percentage of my harddrive, but plenty of space for a few songs. But, just to be sure, I deleted an old iMovie project to free up another 20 gigs. I restart the iMac and ran iTunes.
iTunes told me, "The file 'iTunes Library' does not appear to be a valid music library file. iTunes has attempted to recover your music library and renamed this file to 'iTunes library (Damaged).'" I pressed Ok to this message and the next, which asked if I wanted to download the rest of my purchased music. I held out hope that the songs would download -- that the iTunes and wonderously repaired itself.
Nope. It seems to actually download the songs, but fails to actually write them to disk. I check my permissions for the iTunes Library folder and I have read & write access. Furthermore, I ran Repair Permissions from Disk Utility. Still, no dice.
So, I thought I'd purchase a second album, just to see if it was the two songs (maybe corrupted). Now, I can't get any songs out of the new album in addition to the original two misfit songs. It seems that whatever happened has no prevented me from downloading and saving anything from the Music Store.
I am beginning to fear a hard drive failure, though everything else seems not to care (including iMovie 6). Does anyone have any other tips to offer? I'll give anything a try at this point. If worse comes to worse, I'll travel to my local Apple Store Genius Bar and see what they can do.
    Thanks in advance.

Answered my own question. After I thought I had tried everything, it occurred to me to Verify Disk. Doing so revealed a minor bitmap error. So, using my trusty install disk, I booted my machine to the disk and repaired it.
After the repair, I started iTunes and was able to download my songs. Unfortunately, my original library file was permanently damaged, so I had to start with a clean one. However, if the worst thing to happen to me in all this is that I have to redefine my playlists, then I'm better off.
I hope this thread helps someone in the future.

  • HT5731 Trouble downloading purchased TV shows

I purchased Season 1 (14 episodes) of Pawn Stars,  proceeding with download of all shows. Each show is about 20 minutes in length, but it only downloaded a short clip of each show (~ 1 minute long).  Is there anyway to re-do the download?

Never Mind, Folks... I figured our what the problem is.   I was simply in the wrong part of my ITunes app.  By clicking on the Library" button (upper right), then going to TV Shows, I found all of my downloaded shows... they are complete and full-length.  I was apparently looking at video previews only.

  • I can't download purchased tv shows in itunes

I have purchased tv shows that are in icloud. On my iMac when in iTunes the cloud is greyed out.  I can't download it. In iTunes I see the same thing, its there and available for download but i can't do anything with it. I've signed out and back in.  What else to try?

Restart the iPad. Hold down sleep and home buttons until Apple logo appears and try to open Videos App again.

  • Downloading purchased tv shows to ipad after deleting

Last year I downloaded three seasons of Game of Thrones from Itunes to my Ipad. Due to space, I deleted the series after I finished them. Now I would like to watch them again but cant work out how to. The series all come up as purchased on itunes but dont appear in my library anywhere. Im in Australia so perhaps I cant download again? Any  help would be appreciated!

Go to the iTunes purchased tab, and tap on TV Shows at the top of the screen. Then tap on Not on This iPad. The TV series should appear on the left hand side. Tap on the Game of Thrones icon and the episodes should show up on the right side of the screen with a cloud icon with a down pointing arrow in the icon. Tap that icon to download the TV show
You can download TV shows again for free in Australia. Check here for all content that can be downloaded again.

  • HT4557 Cant download purchased tv shows in iPad

purchased tv shows in one iPad but can't download on another one, both in same home share id.  All purchased shows appear in iTunes, but some are greyed out and can't tap on download button.  Some shows on the other hand are available for downloading.

Do you have a TV programme age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is preventing them from being downloaded ?

  • I can't download purchased TV shows to my iPad

    Hi,
Hope someone can help, this is driving me up the wall...
I purchased a TV series in iTunes on my iMac. I'm going away and want to transfer this show to my iPad. I first tried syncing it from the mac to the iPad but its in a different format (m4v not mp4) so I'm guessing thats why it didn't work.,
If I got the the itunes store on the iPad I can see the show under 'purchased', the cloud icon is next to it but is greyed out, I tap it and nothing happens. I've checked that there are no age restrictions set on the iPad, they are all disabled. How the **** can I get this on the iPad? Strangely I can download it on my iPhone using the same method, but I don't want it on there.
Why they make it so god **** fiddly to do such a simple thing is beyond me.
Furthermore, I added a few movies that I converted to mp4 myself, that all went ok, then I realised I'd forgotten one so added that to itunes, selected it and transferred that over. All the other movies then vanished and were replace by the new one?? What the **** is going on? I check in the summary tab 'manually manage music and videos', hit apply, sync them over, when I go back to the summary the box is now unchecked again?
I've had Apple stuff for years but when you end up spending hours of your life trying to solve ridiculous problems that shouldn't happen in the first place I'm seriously thinking of jumping ship.
    Thanks

There is a 50 meg download limit per file over 3G/4G, so if they are larger than that then you will need to find a wifi network - the limit can only be raised by Apple with the agreement of the phone companies.

Purchased three iPhone apps in iTunes 10.4.1 on Lion 10.7.1 on iMac.

I've already read the article regarding this and none of the known issues apply. Help plz!! I'm losing almost $50 because of this unless it's fixed.

  • Downloading Purchased TV Shows and Videos

For the last few weeks my computer has been super slow (i.e. it takes an hr to download a one-hr tv show) downloading items I've purchased from Itunes. I've bought things from Itunes forever and it's usually much fast and this is really annoying. Any suggestions?

HI, I have the same problem, so you said you will need to update your quicktime...I have the most recent versions of iTunes and Quicktime, and have tried everything. Here is another post I made about this:
"Hi, this exact same thing has happened to me. However, I have updated EVERYTHING, i have the most recent version of iTunes and Quicktime. When i try to play a purchased video, even one i just bought last night, it says I am not authorized to play this, so then it tries to contact iTunes to let me authorize it, but it doesnt, a window pops up and says..."could not contact iTunes, you must download at least iTunes version 4.0 to authorize and play this video." this happens with any purchased video i try to play. The gray screen with no sound or video. Please help! I have tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing. Same problem still. An Apple Consultant friend of mine told me to delete the two iTunes plist files in my library and restart, and I did that but it still has the same problem! Please help! here or my email is:

    thanks."

  • HT204053 iCloud downloaded purchases not showing in library

Hi, despite my new iPhone 5 downloading previously purchased music from iCloud, my music library remains empty? Why won't the music show up?

Are you referring to purchases on your iPhone not showing in your iTunes library on your computer?
Make sure your computer is authorized and you are signed in to iTunes with the Apple ID the purchases were made with.
Open iTunes on your computer > iTunes Store > Purchased (in Quick links section on the right)
Download all your music by selecting the Music tab > All Songs > Click download all on bottom right.
Now you can enable automatic dowloads so future purchases download automatically:
Open itunes on your computer > Preferences > iTunes Store > enable automatic downloads
