Error Downloading your purchased music

I keep getting this error "The disk could not be read from or written to. Use the Check for Purchased Music command in the Advanced menu to try again later"
I have purchased a video from Itunes, but every time I run the Check for Purchased Music I keep getting the same error. Any help?

I am have responded back to them letting them know that it is still not working correcting for me.

I am running Itunes 6.0.1.3
I ran through the steps that you provided and found that I do still have this video in my queue. However, when I go to Advanced -> Check for Purchases....I still receive the error (See attached image). It acts like it wants to download, but then it stops.
I am currently running on a wireless Home Network using High Speed DSL from BellSouth. I have checked my firewall setting and it appears to be open to Itunes. (See attached image)
The OS is XP with SP 2.
Let me know if this is enough information.
Thanks for the quick response,
Patrick

I am trying to download a Video from the new iTunes 6 and I do have an iPod Video, but for some reason everytime I check for purchases to download it, I get this error message: "There was an error downloading your purchased music. The disk could not be read from or written to."
For some reason the Apple Team cannot seem to help me with this, does anyone have any idea what is going wrong? I have purchased the video about 1 1/2 ago and no one has helped me from Apple yet. Please let me know....Thanks so much!

I had this same issue today. I was able to download songs but not videos. It turned out that the machine that I was downloading on was my work machine and my music storage location was redirected to my company server. The path was
    \\Rgafiles-2\bcross$\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music
I suspected that this redirection was an issue so I installed iTunes on another maching and was able to successfully download the song locally. I then copied the .m4v file to my original machine.

  • Error downloading ur purchased music - server not found...please help!!

I have been getting the above message since Saturday and I just don't know what to do - I have tried contacing my internet service provider and Apple and they have both suggested that it might be to do with my firewall but I have tried disabling that and its still the same.
I have also removed and reinstalled itunes but this hasn't made any difference.
I'd really appreciate any other ideas as to what I could do to sort this out.
    Many thanks.

  • Error downloading videos purchased on iTunes store

I recently upgraded to the 30GB iPod w/ video. I purchased a couple of videos from the iTunes store and when I attempt to download I get an error message: "There was an error downloading you purchased music. The disk could not be read from or written to." I even went as far as removing my old software and reloading the new disk. Can someone help me out? My laptop is pretty full but I've still got 9GB free.

No, but thanks for the help. I checked and it is not read only. It is a corporate laptop. Could it have to do with the security selections?

  • TS3297 iTunes error coe 8012: cannot download newly-purchased music from iTunes store.

iTunes error coe 8012: cannot download newly-purchased music from iTunes store.  Anyboy else get this looping error?

    Hey everybody,
I also was experiencing the unknown error -42018 when attempting to download purchased music. Additionally, I was stuck in an endless authorization loop when attempting to play previously purchaed music. All this started when I installed the latest iTunes software 7.0.2.
I run windows XP Pro, and unlike the majority of users I actually set it up correctly with a dedicated administrator account, and regular user accounts instead of just running as admin all the time. For me, that was the cause of the problem.
The new version of iTunes software required FULL CONTROL privilages on the iTunes and iPod install directories for all user accounts that were using the program. (Previous versions worked fine, so this is a new thing.) Once I provided those permissions, iTunes worked correctly. Follow this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040 for information on how to provide FULL CONTROL to every user account.
I hope you all find this helpful in solving your problem.
    Good Luck,
    Bill

Doublechecking. Have you tried the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document?

  • HT201272 Error in connection when downloading previously purchased music. Help please!

I'm trying to download previously purchased music onto a new authorized computer, but for a number of songs (1 in 10 approximately), I continually get the message that the connection cannot be established.
In my Library, these songs cannot be played.
However, when I go back under Itunes Store > Purchased - beside every song (regardless of whether it was successfully downloaded or not), it says Downloaded. So I can't download them again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Ability to redownload varies from country to country, the US having most options currently:

    Hey joshuafromisr,
If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:

  • Cannot download previously purchased music

I am trying to download previously purchased music, Darius Rucker True Believer album, to my iPhone 5. I've tried using my LTE connection and WiFi. When I click on the cloud icon, it spins for a few seconds then stops. If I try to stream the song it just goes to the next song that's actually on my iPhone. I get no error message or prompt to sign in with my credentials. Having the same issue with a few other songs. I've downloaded updates and podcasts today so I know my connection is working.
I am not using iTunes Match.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    OK.
Not sure what your question is.  The error message explains it pretty well.

  • HT201272 I cant download my purchased music onto my new iPhone 5. I bought almost all my music through iTunes over my phone but it wont let me download "ALL"--I have to go in individually to each album.

I cant download my purchased music onto my new iPhone 5. I bought almost all my music through iTunes over my phone but it wont let me download "ALL"--I have to go in individually to each album. Can anyone help me figure out how to do a single "ALL" music download?
I even tried synching from mt computer backup but it wont do it.

You can only sync everything with your one syncing computer/iTunes library. Yu can:
    - Make this your syncing computer by:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
    - Use the manual method to copy music and videos from any computer/iTunes library to the iPod. See the manual method included here:

I want to transfer the recently purchased songs onto my iPod so how can I do this now? iTunes now says that I have to wait another 55 days! There must be a way to do this since I have paid for them.

In iTunes sign out of your daughters Apple ID and sign in with your own.
