Error during CF9 install on Windows 2000

We are getting the following error message when attempting to run the installer for CF9:
Microsoft VC++ 2008 Runtime
Installer has determined that Microsoft Visual C++ 2008
Redistributable Package is not installed. Select OK to install now.
To perform your own installation, select CANCEL. After installation
restart the installer to continue.
When I click OK, it looks like the VC++ install happens. I restart the CF9 installer and receive the same message.
I then tried to install the VC++ runtime manually from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a5c84275-3b97-4ab7-a40d-3802b2af5 fc2&displaylang=en
That install of VC++ ran with no error, and I can see VC++ in my Add/Remove Programs list. When I attempt to run the CF9 installer, I get the same error message again about VC++ not being installed. I've restart the entire system numerous times with no luck.
I'd really like to install CF9, but can't get the installer to run. Anyone have a solution for me?
This is a fully patched Windows 2000 server.

It looks like their suggested manual install worked.  It completed installation and although I haven't fully tested it yet it appears to be running.
Here is how they said to do it manually.  It involves creating a "cf.properties" text file and running the installation exe from a command window.  Here are their instructions:
The trick is to do a silent install ( ColdFusion_9_WWE_win.exe is the downloaded installer from adobe.com)
C:\>ColdFusion_9_WWE_win.exe -i silent -f cf.properties

  • Error in webstart install in windows 2000

When I try to install webstart on my windows 2000 machine I get this error: "Error opening file for writing: C:\Program Files\Java Web Start\javawebstart.dll"
I am installing as administrator also so I don't have a clue why this is happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Use the task manager to see if another copy of Java Web Start is running.
Windows will not let you overwrite an open file.
If that dosn't help, try uninstalling the old version of Java Web Start first.

  • DB version required for Content DB install on windows 2000/2003

    Hello,
I looked at the certification matrix for content db and regarding the database it looks strange :
o Oracle RDBMS 11.1.0.6.0 (or higher) (see Note#1)
o Oracle RDBMS 10.2.0.2 (or higher)
o Oracle RDBMS 10.1.0.5 (or higher)
I don't know what version should I download in order to install on windows 2000/2003.
the single version available for windows (with the required version number) on the download page of the database is
"Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.3) for Microsoft Windows Vista"
which is built especially for Vista. or is it ok to use it for 2000/2003 ?
for example in 10g release 1 I don't see any version >= 10.1.0.5. the greatest is 10.1.0.3. is it normal ? or do I misunderstood something ?
    thanks,
    Florin

We had a similar problem when trying to pre-install the JRE, then run a web page with an applet in it. Apparently there is a bug in the JRE installer (1.3.1_01) that puts extraneous values into the registry (it's in the bug database somewhere). As a work-around, you can delete those values out of the registry. I had to do this in our installer with a simple C++ program.
    Delete the INF values under:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Code Store Database\Distribution Units\{8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93}\DownloadInformation
    and
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Code Store Database\Distribution Units\{CAFEEFAC-0013-0001-0001-ABCDEFFEDCBA}\DownloadInformation
('0013-0001-0001' <==> JRE 1.3.1_01. Replace with your version)
    Hope this helps!

  • ITunes 7 won't install on windows 2000 (network error) but iTunes 6 works

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this. I have been trying for almost a week to download the "Idol gives back" videos but I'm not able to with iTunes 6. Says I have to upgrade...sounds easy enough, so I download Itunes 7. I already have the latest quicktime installed and it works fine. The setup for iTunes 7, however, will not work. I get this exact message:
Could not access network location iTunes\.
I read in another forum that editing some registry keys would help but that didn't work. What does this error mean? And why won't iTunes 7 work with Windows 2000 whenever iTunes 6 works perfectly? This is very frustrating, all I want to do is download the Idol gives back videos to help out the children's charities. I never thought they would make it so difficult. I know I can't be the only one with iTunes 7 issues. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

that's normal. a number of the error messages that displayed with a number in 6.0.x and earlier versions of iTunes (like the 1606, the 1316 and certain species of the 1402) no longer get the number showing up with the error message with the 7.x installers. (it seems to have been part and parcel of the change away from basing the installers on InstallShield technology.)
okay, let's try the general advice from the following document to see if that can help:

  • WoW wireless headset error during driver install windows

Was installing the drivers that i downloaded from the creative website and around half way through the install this error msg popped up"error in launching C:\windows\temp\CRF001\mint64.exe", the install proceeded anyway and kept install before i even hit the ok button on the error box. After the reboot and installation for the latests firmware and rebooted again. I paired the headset up to the usb stick after the 8 hour battery charge and tried to open the audio control panel and it said that it couldn't find the device. I checked device manager and it shows the headset is working fine and all my other applications like vent also see that the headset is there. Even the ALchemy program that came with the install can't find it.
I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them and got the same error msg and the audio control panel still can't find it.
I'm running win7 64 bit. anyone know whats going wrong?
The headset itself seems to work fine even with that error during driver installation, but can't get that audio control panel to access whatever features it has.

For your temporary directory entries you listed, simply try this:
If you have WinRar, WinZip, WinAce or even 7-Zip, right click the executable and choose extract to.....and extract the files to any folder you wish. Then open that folder and run the installer manually. Sometimes the Creative Labs programs have a problem when creatiing a folder in the Windows temporary directory.
If that does not work, you can try this for a longshot.
    http://ccftp.creative.com/manualdn/D...US_2_11_01.exe
That is a product identification patch for X-FI's and it is designed to fix the detection of those cards under Windows 7. Perhaps this would work for you, it is small and you could always create a system restore point, install it, and if you dont like it, uninstall it and restore back.

  • Oracle BI Suite 10.1.3.2.0 does not install on Windows 2000

    hi all,
I downloaded the two zip files from Oracle site and extracted on d:\biee.
    I launched the setup.exe program under d:\orabiee\Windows\Server\Oracle_Business_Intelligence.
I specified the Complete installation and after creating the OracleBI folder, the installation hungs without any message.
I checked out the install.log file and I found this entry:
    STACK_TRACE: 7
    com.installshield.util.ProcessExecException: CreateProcess: C:\orabiee\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\bin\oc4j.cmd -start error=3
         at com.installshield.util.ProcessExec.executeProcess(ProcessExec.java:180)
         at com.installshield.wizardx.actions.ExecWizardAction.executeProcess(ExecWizardAction.java:412)

         at com.siebel.analytics.install.ExecWizardActionCustom.run(ExecWizardActionCustom.java:79)
         at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
As a matter of fact, the C:\orabiee\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\bin folder does not exist (and, of course neither the oc4j.cmd program).
    Is there any path/workaround?
    Thanx in advance
    Viking

    Hi Viking
First things first. Here are some things to consider:
    1. If using Windows 2000, you need to be using Windows 2000 Professional with SP4.
    2. You should not have any other Oracle software running during this install.
    3. You also not have ORACLE_HOME, TNS_ADMIN or any of the other Oracle environment variables set.
    4. You need to be a local administrator on the machine.
    5. You should not have a firewall enabled.
    6. You need to have a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) set for the machine.
    7. The FQDN should be set in the HOSTS file which you can find in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
    8. You need to check the certification matrix for 10.1.3.2.0 and make sure it is available for Windows 2000 and that there are no other prerequisites?
    Does any of this help?
    Regards
    Michael

  • Toshiba M305D : blue windows screen during the install of Windows 7 / Vista, no Audio on Windows XP

    Dear Users
Last week I had a clean install of Windows 7 64bit on my M305D-S4830 laptop.
I've used this OS on this machine before, and it worked fine.
After installing Win7, the device manager showed 2 unknown devices. First I've installed the O2 multimedia card reader, and it went ok. Secondly I've installed for the unknown device "hdmi audio" a hdmi audio driver from ATi, since the notebook has AMD 780V chipset and a Radeon HD3100 (it hasn't any hdmi output, but I didn't want to have any unknown devices).
    And my nightmare begun.
While restarting after the driver upgrade, my brand new Win 7 boot hang on blue screen code: 0x00000124, which is common for many hardware and software faults. I ran safe mode to clean the system from the hdmi audio driver, but the catalyst install manager dind't let me to remove it. Since it was a fresh install on a formatted HDD, I took the time for another clean install (20 mins). But during the Win 7 install, the installer hang on blue screen, guess what, code: 0x00000124. I changed to the factory-backup Win Vista disks of my laptop, but Vista had the same problem, I couldn't install this OS either, blue screen during install, too.
I took a Win XP Prof SP3 as a last option, and I could finally install it. But after the install, I had problems with the Radeon HD3100, I couldn't install the driver from the .exe, I had to make it from the device manager via properties/I choose to/graphics adapters/own disk. So I don't have the control centre, but the display works in 1280x800.
The bigger problem is: no sound.
The device manager in Win XP shows only one unknown audio device: the hdmi audio. I can't install the conexant drivers, because it says I don't have the device for that. When I install the ATi hdmi driver for XP, I get the blue screen with the error 0x00000124. Nice.
I have updated bios, and made a proper format with the partititons deleted, but it didn't helped. I think the Vista/7 install crashes at the point, when it tries to install the audio driver during OS install, because the XP was running until I have tried to install it, too. But I can't configure the Vista/7 install not to try loading it.
So my laptop is only comnpatible with XP, the install of Vista or 7 crashes. And in XP, I have got no audio devices, therefore no sound. You can imagine, how glad I am looking at my Harman/Kardon speakers right now...
    Any ideas?

    Any ideas?
Alex, restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. If you didn't burn them, order the discs.
       Order Toshiba Recovery Media
If it doesn't run properly after that, you have a hardware malfunction.

  • Oracle 8.1.6 EE install to Windows 2000

Using Windows 2000 Advanced Server on a Compaq Proliant 3000, fresh install. Install Oracle 8iR2 (8.1.6) Enterprise Edition, accept default locations, choose typical install. Using the download from the Oracle Technet download pages (have tried downloading several times to make sure) and beginning from autorun.exe.
It doesn't install. I've tried on other machines too. I get an I/O error at the Intermedia install stage (it displays vszip.dll as the current file).
I can't think of anything I'm doing wrong and I've tried on other boxes and with custom install settings.
    Any ideas appreciated?

    Hi,
I'm new with Oracle, and I'm having problems installing the database v8i on Windows XP-Home. My classmates have successfully installed it with both XP-Pro and XP-Home. The problem is that when I click on the Install icon, the disk spins for a while, then nothing happens, and the installation doesn't even start. When I list the files on the CD and click on the setup file and select Run from the pull down menu, and enter my user name (which has administrator privileges) and password, Oracle opens a window with a message that the registry cannot be modified because I don't have permissions, and closes down.
I know the CD is good, because I tried in a different computer. Are there any settings on Windows that I'm missing? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  • Error: "PackageFromTheweb" when install SQL Server 2000 cluster

    Hi,
I am trying to setup a WAS 6.40 system. When I am installing SQL Server 2000 on cluster, I got following error: "This program is used internally by PackageFromTheWeb. It should not be executed directly." Our OS is Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2. Search on the internet many have the same problem but seems no answers. We even completed rebuild OS and install again got the same error message. Very frustration! Realizing the installation has NOT even get to SAP part yet, but any of you see this kind error message when you install SQL Server? How do you fix it?
Any helpful anwsers are appreciated and reward points.

  • Admin Console errors in fresh install on Windows 2003 Enterprise.

I have attempted to install 6.1 SP4 on two different Windows 2003 Enterprise boxes. Neither has W2K3 SP1 on them. The installs proceed using a typical install with no errors reported. All defaults were accepted during the install. I can start the server for the Admin and web server instances. I can hit the default page on the web server instance. When I attempt to launch the admin console, I am prompted to logon, as expected. I enter my credentials and promptly get an HTTP 500 error. I check the logs in C:\Sun\WebServer6.1\https-admserv\logs\errors and find the following line:
[26/Apr/2005:12:43:26] failure ( 2596): for host 192.168.175.128 trying to GET /https-admserv/bin/index, cgi_scan_headers reports: HTTP4044: the CGI program C:\Sun\WebServer6.1\bin\https\admin\bin\index.exe did not produce a valid header (program terminated without a valid CGI header. Check for core dump or other abnormal termination)
I searched for others reporting similar problems and the closest I could come to an answer was to make sure cookies were enabled on the brower (they are). I get the same error in IE and Firefox, both locally and remotely. After becoming frustrated with one W2K3 server, I decided to try on another. Exactly the same errors.
Increased loglevels in the server.xml provide no additional logging for this problem. Any pointers to a resolution would be most appreciated as I'm about ready to scrap Sun and move to Apache.
    Thanks,
    Sean

Yes, there appear to be problems where certain old versions of Netscape and iPlanet products can leave old DLLs lingering in the Windows system32 directory.
I'd check for the following files in the Windows system32 directory (typically C:\WINNT\system32 or C\WINDOWS\system32):
    libnspr4.dll
    libplc4.dll
    libplds4.dll
    nss3.dll
    nssckbi.dll
    smime3.dll
    ssl3.dll
    nsldap32v50.dll
    nsldappr32v50.dll
    nsldapssl32v50.dll
If you find any of these files, you can try replacing them with a copy from your Web Server install. Don't forget to backup first.
Please report back what you find!

    Hi Jorge,
I am sorry to hear that.
Here are a few things that I suggest you try:
Grant Full Control for SYSTEM, NETWORK SERVICE and Administrator on C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\networkservice folder.
If you have Windows Process Activation service installed on the machine, uninstall it.
    Open required RPC ports.
    More information for you:

If the issue still persists, please check the event logs to see if there are any related error messages and troubleshoot accordingly.

This forum focesses on connectivity to non-Oracle systems. Your question would be best posted on the General database forum.
