Error during IPC 4.0 (SP08) installation
I am getting the following error while trying to install IPC (Internet Pricing and Configuration Engine) using SAPINST.
"ERROR 2005-04-15 12:26:01
FSL-01027 Account user="Domain\User" does not exist. <#1>"
I have logged in with the user with Admin rights.
Could anyone suggest how to get pass this error?
Hi, your OS 32 bit , i'm correct?
The main error are
D:Solman - 4.0Solman_Export
you use the blank (spaces) in the directory name for installation files, it's not allowed.
change to D:Solman_4.0Solman_Export (change to all other DVD's paths on your hard disk to )
after restart the installation from the beginning.

"Invalid CMS Connection" Error during DS 4.2 SP2 Installation
Hi Everybody,
Can anyone shed the light on the following dead end issue we are facing during Data Service 4.2 SP 2 Add On the EXISTING BOBI 4.1 SP2
( compatibility is confirmed by SAP through OSS Incident).
Environment :
Existing Distributed Architecture of BOBI 4.1 SP 2 i..e CMS DB Oracle on One Host and BOBI 4.2 SP2 on Another Host
Adding : Data Services 4.2 SP2 on Separate Host
OS : Linux RED HAT 6.3 (VMware)
At the initial Information Gathering Phase of Data Services Installation I face the following issue at the section of " Enter CMS Name " :
- We entered Physical / Virtual server name with and without FQDN i.e. Current CMS Host
- Next is Admin and Password i.e. Administrator and Password of Existing CMS
We get the following System Response / Error :
Invalid CMS Connection Information.
Installer could not detect a running Data Services Administrator Service with
the specified CMS connection information.
and no valid local SIA node was found.
Installer can not continue.
Please fix this problem by:
1. Making sure a Data Services Administrator Service is up and running with the specified CMS;
2. or creating a valid local SIA node to point to the specified CMS.
It seems this is Known Issue and I see two notes :
1837296 - ERROR: No valid local SIA nodes exist for the given CMS connection information - Data Services 4.x
- Not applicable as this is for IPS based installation
1682686 - Cannot connect to the CMS during installation of Data Services or Information Steward
- This note suggests to enter the TEMP variable pointing to location of Log Files Storing the Installation Logs
accordingly we did set " export TEMP=/usr/sap/<SID>/BOBI " as Temp variable but same error persists with the same message !!
- This note says valid for " DS 4.1 "
..seems SAP Fall behind with the Rapid Frequency of DS Releases and even in this note there's extremely brief so called solution
...Defining TEMP should solve this issue in this case as per the note but, it is not solving issue at all !!
In addition to define TEMP Variable to resolve this, following verification, further attempts are made to fix it :
#1. I am able to ping from Data Services Host to CMS Host and there's no Firewall blocking this connection
#2. Using IP in place of Host Name ( FQDN or without FQDN ) does NOT resolve
#3. With Administrator / Password mentioned - log in is possible
#4. Added entries in /etc/hosts of CMS Host and in DS Host ( cross entries )
#5 There's a Thread -
http://scn.sap.com/thread/3469916 -- and as per that following sap note 1682686 resolves this specific issue but, in our case it does not !
In short : as of now we are at dead end !!
Pl. share your knowledge, inputs - Thanks.
Thanks,
Regards,

Thanks for the suggestion - telnet to CMS Host is successful.

====================================================================
It is puzzling that without the completion of Data Services Installation why the DS Installer is expecting ' DS.Admin services " running on 'client' ...this is an extension or add on of Data Services (to be installed on separated linux host) and communication is supposed to be from DS Host to CMS Host !! Where is the scope of client here ??
We do see that connection to CMS Host is possible ..I found few more notes related to this ( not for the identical OS+DB+DS ver. i.e. Linux+Oracle+DS 4.2 SP2) e.g. 1824068, 1632561 but, none of it helps to resolve the issue.
Thanks,

Facing error during Oracle Database Express Edition Installation
Hi,
I'm trying to install Oracle database XE on my system (Windows XP Service Pack 3) and keep getting an error "failed to load dll chkportdl2"" while trying to do so.
While researching on a fix,I came across a solution that suggested uninstall of XP service pack 3 during installation and reinstall later.
Now,I dont see an option for "Windows XP Service Pack 3" in "Add/Remove Programs".
I believe Windows XP OBI comes up pre-loaded with Windows XP Service Pack 3 and am not sure if I can uninstall it.
I looked up some other methods of removal here -
http://www.troublefixers.com/uninstall-remove-windows-xp-service-pack-3-working-procedure/
however,they werent very helpful either.
Could you suggest how to fix this problem being faced in installing Database XE.
Thanks and Regards,
Priya JetleyHi,
I couldn't locate a chkportdll2 file either on my system. It's no regular dll you have on your system. It's usually unpacked in your temp directory when you execute the installer. The message you receive indicates that the installer either couldn't unpack properly (e.g. lack of free space), but this usually would have resulted in an error message. Or you have some Antivirus solution that treats that dll as malware (well, portscans can be bad) and has moved the file into a quarantine zone or at least blocked the access.
Another option would be your user lacks execution privileges for network operations.
The installer fails at the step when you specify a location to install the database. This could mean you don't have enough free (temp) space. How much space is left on the drive that hosts your temp folder?

Unknown errors during manual software update package installation
Hi,
I'm new to the forum.
Recently I've got a serious trouble while installing standalone update packages from disk image files.
After typing my username and password to update my OS manually my computer suddenly fails to install the software packages saying that "the installer has encountered an unknown error which caused the installation to fail."
I've an early 2009 Mac Mini which I bought during the first half of that year. The problem affects all versions of Mac OS X (10.5 and later). It's normal? I've tried everything (permissions repair, SMART check) to fix the problem with no luck. Now I suspect the issue has something else with bad memory or a faulty hard disk.
How curious, System Graph had put a new Super Drive on it because the original had its laser head damaged due to extensive use.
Cheers,
JohnFIXED!
Many DMG executables failed to install because their certificates were outdated.
To resolve the problem: uncheck the automatic time setting box and set the clock to an early date. -
Error during Java WS add in installation
Hello,
I am receiving the following error when trying to install the Java WS 6.4 add - in to an existing ab-ap installation. We are using SQL Server 2000 on Windows Server 2003 and doing an ABAP / J2EE unicode installation. It looks like a database table it is looking for is missing. I looked in the SAP tables in the database and the table is indeed missing. Does anyone know if I've overlooked an installation step that would resolve this issue for me?

Error during LiveCycle ES 8.0 installation
I have tried installing using the copy of LiveCycle ES we have on the network, the copy we have on an external hard drive and have even logged into the partners portal and downloaded a fresh copy of LiveCycle ES and every time I attempt to install it I get the following error:
"The installer directory does not match what is on the DVD. Installation will now terminate."
Any ideas?Hey Jonathan,
Thanks for the answer. I've found that if I copy just the "server" subdirectory the installer won't work. What's the reason that all the DVD contents must be in the same directory? Just curious.
Thanks,

Hal.dll error during/after Win XP SP2 installation
At the moment I'm trying to install Win XP (SP2) into a bootcamp partition. I have a Mac Pro with 4 HDDs.
HDD1: OSX
HDD2: free
HDD3: OSX Data (raid 1)
HDD4: OSX Data (raid 1)
The setup I'd like to have is:
HDD2:
(1) Bootcamp-Partition (NTFS ~75GB)
(2) Bootcamp-Scratch (NTFS ~150GB)
(3) Scratch (HFS+ ~250GB)
I partitioned the disk that way (with FAT32 instead of NTFS) and booted from the Windows install disk. The installer starts, reformats disk (1) to NTFS and copies data onto the disk.
After the first reboot it breaks with hal.dll error. The files are on the disk but boot.ini seems to be corrupt. The "bootcfg" command from the recovery console is not working - it only duplicates the wrong entry in boot.ini.
After the third non-working installation I tried to move the Bootcamp-Partition into the middle, OSX in front:
(1) Scratch (HFS+ ~250GB)
(2) Bootcamp-Partition (NTFS ~75GB)
(3) Bootcamp-Scratch (NTFS ~150GB)
Same error.
Any hints on howto do that? Or will I have to move the Bootcamp-Disk to the end? How to succeed in having the Bootcamp-Scratch as 'D:' in Windows if I swap those two partitions?
BTW: I succeeded to install WinXP on the same disk before. Back then I only had a 75GB Bootcamp-Partition on the disk (no other partition) and had the disk in Bay 3. But I moved it to Bay 2 because of performance problems in Bay3/4 (PIO-mode) and don't want to waste 400GB in the future .First of all I believe this is not the right place to discuss the issue. This issue is related to the Windows operating system file corruption and I think the physical location of the hard drive is not the cause of the issue.
The hal.dll file is a system file which holds the hardware access layer information and linking the necessary components. This include the information about all the hardware resources for the operating system. What you had done to change the hardware configuration files in the boot.ini looks ok. Also you can try this link.

Error during XI PCK 3.0 installation
Hi,
I installed the WEB AS 6.40 prior to installing XI PCK 3.0.
The WebAS 6.4 seems to work pretty well but when I try to install the XI PCK 3.0 I get the following error message:
FSL-00001 System call failed. Error 32 (The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
) in execution of system call 'RegLoadKey' with parameter (HKEY_USERS, S-1-5-21-97400744-3277439761-1653462319-1118, C:\Documents and Settings\j2eadm.P77363\ntuser.dat), line (645) in file (synxccuren.cpp).
I don't know why the file is locked and I really would like to know if someone has already made the same experience.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
FrankHi Frank,
You can try and reboot the server before patching it it clears any locks, cause all security settings where ok when I looked.
This helped me progress the upgrade to SP13P1

File Extraction Error during Adobe Acrobat XI Pro installation
I continually no matter how many times I re-download Adobe Acrobat XI Pro Student and Teacher Edition, I receive the same error "Error in extracting files. Re-download Adobe Acrobat XI Pro." (Paraphrased). Suggestions?
This was my goofup... please be sure to type subst and not substr Z: "C:\Windows" in the command prompt for Admin.
The source I copied and pasted from added the "r"
With the proper command adjusting the "invalid" drive, the install of acrobat succeeded. -
Link SAP PI 7.3 to SolMan 7.1 - error during managed system configuration
All,
I installed my diagnostics agent twice with different options:
- Direct P4 connection via Java EE Dispatcher Node with port 5xx04
- P4 connection via SCS message server with port 81xx
In both cases I get an error during the managed system configuration of SAP PI 7.3: Remote error : Connection to P4 port of managed system failed.
I'm a bit confused with the step Enter System Parameters. In the Java parameters section, I can only enter port 39xx. if not, I get an error.
Also, I marked and unmarked the option concerning the ABAP user store, but the error persists.
Please advice.
Thanks a lot.Hi Allam,
I checked the KBA and I think now, I have the correct HTTP port.
The error I now get is S:CL_DIAGSTP_MESSAGE:483
When I take the next step, Configure Automatically, I get this error during the Byte Code Adapter Installation phase when I open the Java URL stated in the navigation column:

Adobe Illustrator CS3: Fatal error during installation
Hello,
I just bought the AI CS3. It installed OK on my friend's laptop (windows). However, when I clicked the big button in the installation:
"Install Adobe Illustrator CS3"
A window showed:
Initializing Adobe Illustrator...
Then I got a message:
"Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe customer Support for assistance. Fatal error during installation".
I've tried several times. My computer meets all the requirements (it's a really new and faster PC). And there's no old versions of AI on it yet.
Can anyone help? Thanks!!!Do you have any other Adobe products on your computer? When I installed CS3 on my Mac, I kept getting failures. After contacting Adobe, they told me I had to delete ALL other Adobe products -- including Flash and Adobe Reader. Plus, I had to do searches and delete any support files associated with them. It took hours!
