Error during self calibration - PXI-4461

We are running Calibration Executive 3.2.  We are using a PXI chassis and controller and trying to calibrate a PXI-4461 card.
In running the procedure, we received the following error during Self Calibration:
Error 200718 occurred at DAQmx Self Calibration.VI at step self calibrate.
Any guidance in resolving this issue would be appreciated.

  • VisualVM Profiler error during calibration / startup

I'm running visualVM 1.2.1 against jdk1.6.0_06, on Windows Vista Ultimate, SP2.
The Profiler does not appear to be working.
After startup / calibration, if I go to Help>About, and press on the Logfile button, I see these errors:
*** Profiler warning (Thu Dec 17 10:03:07 PST 2009): timed out while trying to connect to the target JVM.
*** Profiler error (Thu Dec 17 10:03:07 PST 2009): connection with server not open
I've read old postings about the NetBeans Profiler requiring certain ports, so I turned off the Windows Firewall,
and restarted visualVM. But the same error occurs.
What is going on? How can I get the visualVM Profiler to work?
    Thanks.

    Answers:
    1. Can you, please, send the entire VisualVM log file to feedback at visualvm.dev.java.net ?See log below. (I've emailed the full transcript to feedback at visualvm.dev.java.net.)
    2. What application are you trying to profile?I am trying to profile a standalone Java application (ie, launched via the static main() method).
    3. Does profiling of JDK demo applications (like Java2Demo) work?Yes. However, only the "Overview", "Monitor", and "Threads" tabs appear. There is no profiling tab.
    Thanks.

  • Error -10007 after self calibration

I am trying to self calibrate an AT-MIO64E3 using 'Calibrate_E_Series'
under CVI5.0. After the calibration using 'SCAN_op' I regularly (not
always however) receive the error message -10007:
"Channel out-of-range for device type or input configuration; either the
combination of channels is not allowed, or you must reverse the scan
order so that channel 0 is last"
    Any hints would be appreciated.

  • PCI-4472 self calibration error under MAX

    Hi,
Our PCI-4472 appeared to have offsets on the order of several hundred microvolts, so I tried a self calibration under MAX (version 4.1.0.3001) to try to reduce them. The self calibration gave me the error message:
"Measurement taken during calibration produced an invalid AI gain calibration constant."
Does anyone know where I can find troubleshooting information for this issue, or have any suggestions on how to fix it?
    Thanks,

I am posting this for an applications engineer, intended for this to post last in a linear fashion ~
I have attached screen grabs of the self test and calibration panels.
When running the "self-test" panels within MAX, all tests pass.
I performed the tests after hitting "reset" in MAX.
Current versions of software installed: Labview Full Dev 8.2., and Max 8.5.
    All upgrades have been applied.
Ai1 is setup to measure a voltage differential of 1-5 VDC based upon a "differential" input
    across a precision resistor. I have setup custom scale, 1V = -40`C 5V = +180`C.
    I have tried setting sample rates of: 3 @3Hz, 10@60Hz, 100 @600Hz, etc...
As I run the self test, and it's the same when I launch Labview and work within a VI, I see
the wave output with what looks like a square wave. I have put a scope on the wire pair
and do see steady voltage levels. Sensor has a current loop supplying external excitation.
Sensor output passes thru a linearization circuit operating at 60Hz.
In the 3rd image I captured Ai0 which is similarly setup in "differential" 1-5VDC input to scaled output.
You can see the graph image captures the trailing signal just like on Ai1 analog channel.
I have verified from Omega that the sensor is wired correctly supplying current loop,
and also taken the wires and "twisted" the pairs for less EMI/RFI crosstalk/noise.
The sensor and it's power supply are brand new purchased directly from Omega.
I am planning to send this to a local vendor for calibration, SE Labs in Santa Clara, but if it's
a matter of the boards circuitry being damaged than it needs repair. I started here about
3 months ago and after asking around found the PCI-6250 DAQmx board was available.
Problem is I don't know the history, besides the 2 year calibration expiring Nov of 2006.
The 1 thing I have not tried is moving the PCI to another slot, but FYI I have just this week
moved the PCI card over to another workstation that exceeds minimum hdw requirements.
This card was installed in a Pentium III @848MHz workstation with 424MB of ram.
Facts are the graph output of both channels look exactly the same in either pc.
The previous user was an engineer, whom may have exceeded voltages/parameters
on the analog and/or digital inputs. Thank you again for your knowledgeable replies!

  • IVI error will not run PXI cards calibration

I had an NI automatic update done a week or so ago and it wiped out my ability to run NIMAX, Calibration Executive, and see any of my PXI card plugins. I am using a PXI-1033 mainframe and calibrating multipe PXI cards. I was able to fix NIMAX and I can now see my mainframe and cards in the mainframe, but I cannot communicate with the cards. Try to burn a DVD the project I made.  Everything is fine until it goes to stage 4 Multiplexing & Burning  - the system shows a Media Error in the Power Calibration  0x73,0x03 when this come up it will eject the dvd.  I never had a problem like this. Hi
As I remember it - it used to be when using Cheap Brands of DVDs e.g. Memorex or NoName ec.
    Else
    Multiplexing Error
Multiplexing error is a very complex problem due to many things (long long list following) - one common but not obvious reason is that material on the iDVD menu goes outside the TV-Safe area (or just touching it).
So first - turn on TV-Safe area and move any object well inside of this.
Wide screen stretched - usually (as I think) it is due to making a 4x3 movie in a 16x9 wide-screen project OR the other way around. This forces one to on flat-screen TV (or other) set the presenting view right - My has 4x3, wide-screen, zoom and auto-wide-screen and I have to switch this by my remote for some DVD I've made "wrong" way.
Now my long long list on Multiplex Error

    • Can’t be at start or end of movie (Skip first/start one - iDVD sets this by it self. At the End - no need)
    • Not in a transition (or within 2-3 seconds from it)
Important when from iMovie HD6 or previous - Now also observed when using FCE 4

Do a safe reboot (by holding down the shift key until you see the spinning gear on gray background, then release, then restart when your start-up screen appears).
I always makes a DiskImage first and test this so that it runs OK
I use only - Verbatim DVDs
    I use only - DVD-R
I burn at an as slow speed possibly e.g. x1
    This gives good DVDs
    PART Three.
    Multiplex Error
    Chuck, Chicago 2/7/2009.
Back again. Here is what I have found to work. I also have and use a LaCie DVD-R/RW DL external drive and a LaCie external hard drive as well. Since yesterday I have tried a few ways to burn a themed iDVD project having four 56 minute movies on it, amounting to 226 minutes onto a DVD DL disc, capacity 240 minutes. Apple tech support really didn't know what to do but gave me a very good tip. I had two options left. Apple tech support's tip was to try disc image. One of the replies on a thread with this subject said not to, but my experience today is good. Put your project onto "Burn to disc image," under "iDVD, file." Yesterday encoding took me 23 1/2 hours. Overnight for iDVD disc image, encoding took 21 1/2 hours (again) while I slept. This morning I tried to copy/burn disc image to a DVD with Roxio Toast 7, and it stopped near the end of the burn with some kind of "error" message. So then I tried Utilities> Disc Utility> Burn icon, and followed it through. Be sure to click the DVD DL drive in the window "Burn disc in.". I had one other problem though. At the end of a 46 minute copy, it started to verify, and at the end of verify it rejected the burn. So I tried again, and when "verify" appeared, I clicked on "Skip." The disc finished burning and is doing fine and well. A long and tortuous process, but at last something works. I made several additional copies using Disc Utility. Best wishes. Chuck, Chicago.
    2. Disconnect any other external devices not absolutely needed.
e.g. external USB/USB2 hard disks, other FW hard disks etc.

(Not a 'guy' but I will answer!)
First, I do not think that mixing wide-screen and standard makes a difference in iDVD.
Second, you should use a better brand of DVD disk. Also, many of us have experienced fewer problems on playback with DVD-R disks. Recommended brands here are Verbatim, Maxell and Taiyo Yuden. Memorex and TDK are not consistent and may not give you a correct burn. They apparently have fewer layers in the composition of the disk. I have always used Verbatim DVD-R disks and have not had any burn problems.
Also, choose a slower burn speed, 4x or less.
Third, to determine if the iDVD project will burn properly, create a disk image file (from within iDVD, go File->Save as Disk Image) and test it. Mount the disk image and then open DVD Player (in Applications) and view your project. If it plays correctly, you can then burn the actual DVD disk from the disk image file using Disk Utility.

I did everything I've seen suggested, but a friend (who used to be an Apple Genius) suggested that I do a safe reboot (by holding down the shift key until you see the spinning gear on gray background, then release, then restart when your start-up screen appears).
It worked, and I got a clean burn from iDVD.
Hopefully this can help other people.

Well, I finally got it, and it was odd enough to post here incase anyone looks this topic up again. Many things were tried, including burning the unedited film, the edited film without titles and chapter markers, abbreviating the chapter markers in case length was the issue (remember the old iMovie used to truncate them when moving to iDVD?). In the process, I noticed that one, and only one, chapter marker was on the same line as the title marker. All the others were on the line above. The only way I seemed able to change that was to clip a few seconds of film. After that last clip, the offending marker took a place on the line above, as were all the others. That run published, compiled completely and burned. That's one for the books.
    One user more writes
To add my experience with Multiplex Errors using iDVD (7.0.4), I recently created two iDVD projects
Video from both passed from FCE 4.01 with chapters
One project worked fine in creating disk image file
    The other gave Multiplex Errors
I tried suggestions to remove special characters and no chapter marks at beginning, but nothing worked
Note that I've used iDVD for dozens of projects and this is first time I've run into Multiplex Errors
Anyway, for problem project, I tried an experiment where I removed all chapters in FCE and passed to new iDVD project
    This time multiplex errors gone
So had something to do with chapters
So now I tried numerous experiments to remove individual chapters and try again creating disk image with new iDVD project
After numerous tries, I was able to narrow problem down to 1 "Bad" chapter mark
That is, when I left the "bad" chapter in my FCE project and passed to iDVD, iDVD gave multiplex error
When I removed "bad" chapter mark (and others in), no multiplex error
As a final experiment, I moved "bad" chapter mark about 5-10 sec's beyond original point and passed to iDVD, the multiplex errors now magically went away and I was able to finally create my disk image.
I have no idea why this worked, but thought I'd mention here in case someone else runs into similar problem.

In addition to Bengt's fine advice, burning errors can occur if you have located any of your menu buttons wholly or partly outside of the safe TV viewing area. Go to your main project menu, then click on View/Show TV Safe Area, to check. Drag into the safe viewing area any buttons that are outside the safe viewing area.
    Russ One - suggest this
Multiplex Error-There was an error during muxing preparation
One thing that worked for me was to export the video w/o chapter markers as a self contained movie (thereby not loosing the edits & etc). Then make a new FCE project and import that movie into a new sequence and add the chapter markers. I've used "-", "&" and "," with no problem in the chapter names. Removing the markers or exporting without them did solve the problem but renaming them with just numbers 1,2,3....5, did not solve the problem and since this problem seems to happen with with iMovie as well, it would suggest the problem is in the video or audio and in combination with the chapter markers iDVD just can't handle it. The only other possibility is that both iMovie and FCE share the same or similar chapter marker code that some how is corrupting the markers.
    Summary - What to try
    1. Chapters
    • Only A to Z and 0 to 9 in chapter title
    • No Chapter mark at very beginning of movie
    • No Chapter mark in or within 2 seconds from any transition in movie
    2. TV-safe area for buttons (no one outside this)
    3. Safe re-boot
    4. No other external devices connected - that are not needed
    SDMacuser adds to this
    • On #4 ... No ext. devices. Some think this applies mainly to ext. FW. Not the case. Also applies to ext. USB2 as well (not to mention flash drives too).
Do not leave 3rd party devices / camera / camcorder plugged in unless it is being used with iDvd's One Step process. Certain web cams can trigger this also (especially ones with added features like LED light/s that draw additional power from the FW or USB bus).
    5. Minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-up hard disk
    6. Make a DiskImage first - reduces where problem originates
    7. Trash iDVD pref. file
    8. Make a new iDVD project
    9. Movies in project with same aspect ratio e.g. 4x3 or 16x9
    10. No other programs/applications running during iDVD process. e.g. Internet, screen & energy savers

Get ‘500 Internal Server Error’ during SIP INVITE - cause 44
Have you ever seen anything like this before?  It usually works, but intermittently, we see calls get rejected.  It somehow seems related to high loads on the router.  We reduced the occurrences by changing our code to throttle the number of SIP INVITEs we send, but this doesn’t scale well.  Once it occurs, the only way to clean it up is to do a shut/no shut on the voice-port associated to SIP INVITE.
Any suggestions on how we can proceed to debug this issue?

Since it appears you are a Cisco Employee, my recommendation is that you use the many internal resource available to you (including, but not limited to) , like TAC access, internal forums, team leaders, etc.
This not to give the casual reader, the impression that the best source of support at Cisco is a customer's public forum.

  • How many DSA Cards can be simultaneously Self Calibrated?

I have two PXI-1045 chassises connected to a single computer via a dual port MXI Express card.
Each of the two chassises have 12 PXI-4462 4 channel DSA cards.
I am using the "DAQmx Self Calibrate.vi", which takes about 156 seconds.
It appears that if place 24 of these DAQmx Self Calibrate VIs on my block diagram,
then it appears that 4 will finish after 156 seconds, then another 4 will finish after
another 156 seconds, and so on, until all are finished after a total of 936 seconds.
I have  found that 1, 2, 3, or 4 can be simultaneously self calibrated, but more than that requires additional time for each group of 4.
So my question is, is it possible to sell calibrate more than 4 at once?
My computer is a quad core, but I don't think this is the limiting factor.
Could it rather be some other resource, such as Triggers on the PXI bus, that are the limiting factor?

    Hey Kevin,
The problem you are running into is likely caused by the fact that LabVIEW allocates a default of 4 threads per priority per execution system.  DAQmx VIs by default run at the same priority and execution system as their caller (despite the existence of a "DAQ" execution system), so they are probably running at normal/standard:
While a .dll is being called by LabVIEW the thread is reserved.  So, 4 parallel calls to DAQmx Self Calibrate.vi (which call into nilvaiu.dll inside the subVI) will reserve all 4 threads that LabVIEW has allocated to the normal/standard priority and execution system.
To raise the number of threads that LabVIEW allocates, add the line "ESys.Normal=24" or whatever number you'd like to LabVIEW.ini.  You might also have to run threadconfig.vi (instructions found here).  The end result should look like this when you run threadconfig.vi (you'll have to restart LabVIEW after editing the .ini file):
You could technically just use threadconfig.vi to set the number of threads without manually editing the .ini file, but this only lets you allocate up to 8 threads per execution system per priority.  The number shown in < > is two higher than the actual number of threads allocated due to how the enum was defined in the vi.

  • Error during building

    hello,
i am trying to burn a dvd from idvd using professional encoding. twice at the end of burning (4 hours later) i get a message saying there has been an error during building (multiplexing?) i burned the same idvd project using high encoding and everything seemed to work ok. i want to try the pro encoding to see if there is a difference in quality.
another question... my project is in widescreen and looks great on my computer but in my dvd player, on my tv it's a bit stretched. why would this happen and can i fix or avoid it?
    thanks for any advice
    jean

    Hi
Multiplex error is a very complex problem due to many things (long long list following) - on common but not obvious reason is that material on the iDVD menu goes outside the TV-Safe area (or just touching it).

    A.    Using strange letters in video project name eg +,/; etc. keep to a-z and 0-9 strange letters in project name eg +
as described by Donnyboy69.  Does the title of your project have any symbols or decimal points in it. If so, that is why you are getting the error. I had a project that had a + sign which caused the same problem. I renamed it without the symbol and low and behold, it worked.
    B.    Location of Chapters
    • Can’t be at start or end of movie (Skip first/start one - iDVD sets this by it self. At the End - no need)
    • Not in a transition (or within 2-3 seconds from it)

Do a safe reboot (by holding down the shift key until you see the spinning gear on gray background, then release, then restart when your start-up screen appears).
I always makes a DiskImage first and test this so that it runs OK
I use only - Verbatim DVDs
    I use only - DVD-R
I burn at an as slow speed possibly eg x1

    2. Disconnect any other external devices not absolutely needed.
eg external USB/USB2 hard disks, other FW hard disks etc.

(Not a 'guy' but I will answer!)
First, I do not think that mixing widescreen and standard makes a difference in iDVD.
Second, you should use a better brand of DVD disk. Also, many of us have experienced fewer problems on playback with DVD-R disks. Recommended brands here are Verbatim, Maxell and Taio Yuden.

As a final experiment, I moved "bad" chapter mark about 5-10 secs beyond original point and passed to iDVD, the multiplex errors now magically went away and I was able to finally create my disk image.

    7. Trash iDVD pref file
    8. Make a new iDVD project
    9. Movies in project with same aspect ratio eg 4x3 or 16x9
    10. No other programs/applications running during iDVD process. eg Internet, screen & energy savers

  • Error during burning process

    I am using OS10.4.6

    IDVD 5.0.1
I have made a 27 minute movie in Final cut....i cannot seem to burn it in IDVD no matter what. I have been using this full time for 4 yrs and have never had this issue.
I have tested other movies and they burn fine...i have tried throwing away all the render files and re-rendering the movie in final cut and then re-exporting it out. i have exported it out in 2 different ways...no matter what i do, I keep getting an error during the burning process that says
there was an ERROR in the burning process
which is leading me to believe that some file within my final cut project is corrupt or problematic.
i have worked on this thing for about 50 hours and cannot start over from scratch, Help!

Ashley- I know you're probably getting desperate but please don't duplicate post.
I'm not real familiar with iDVD but I know you have to export a QT movie from FCP and then burn that right? Your QT Movie, was it a self contained QT or a refernce Movie. If you have no idea what I just asked, when you exported it and you went to File>Export>QT Movie> did you select the box that says "make movie self-contained"?
If so then a corrupt file is a moot (sp?) point. Can you open the QT Movie and watch it successfully in QT?
If you CAN watch it in QT then your problem probably lies in iDVD.
Answer these questions for us and we'll take the next step to getting a DVD in your hands.

  • Metadata import error during creation of import profile

    Hi guys,
I am trying to create a (out-of-the-box) metadata interface from Fusion (source) to a HFM application. I've successfully completed the following activities:
    - Register source system
    - Setup source accounting entities
    - Initialize source system
    - Register target system
    - Create import format (Fusion to HTP application) which maps the Account COA segment from the source system to the Account dimension in the target application.
    - Create location, connected to upper import format
    - Create metadata rule
When I try to execute the metadata rule it raises the following error during the step "Creating EPMA import profile for dimension ERPI System Profile 5" :

    Kind regards,

Just guessing here, but I'd suspect that you have a BPM Object that you are using in your screenflow. Inside your BPM Object you probably have a method that makes the database call. I'm assuming that you might be using Dynamic SQL in your method.
If this is the case then make sure that this method has the property set to "Server Side".

  • PXI-4461 Onboard device memory underflow

I am using a PXI-4461 to generate an aquire a singal. When i generate the signal i get error -200621( onboard device memory underflow) onDAQmx Stop VI. I donot understand what the error means.
    Signal Information
    Signal Type=Sine Wave
    Frequency=3K
    amplitude=0.3V
    Sampling Rate=48K
Number of samples sent=48000 or 1sec
I have tried reducing my sample rate to 20000 but that didnot help much. How do i get rid of this error
I have attached an picture of my vi below
Thanks. Any help whould be much appreciated.

Welcome and thank you for using the Discussion Forums! This error is most likely due to the non-regeneration property you have set. What's happening is that LabVIEW generates your two sine waves continuously, but slower than the update rate of the DAQ card, so the buffer gets empty before it can write enough samples to the buffer so that the 4461 can keep generating the voltage values on the channel.
What you could do is simply set the Regeneration mode to "Allow Regeneration". I tried the non-regeneration and regeneration property on the "Voltage - Continuous Output.vi" and it works with regeneration enabled.

  • PXI 4461 simultaneously read and generate

I am using PXI 4461 card, which has 2 inputs and 2 outputs.
I have a sequence, which will be loaded for multi UUT testing at the same time. I am trying to use AI0, AI1 to read the signals, which are generated by UUTs at the same time. One UUT can measure signal at AI0 and other UUT should measure AI1.
I was in impression that it can be possible to measure both AI0 and AI1 at the same time. But it's giving the error, when I try to measure.
I made the attached VI as an reentrant. Please let me know if this is possible.
I would like to know same if this is possible to generate from AO0, AO1 at the same time with different frequencies (1KHz, 10KHz). AO0 should generate signal with 1KHz and AO1 should generated signal with 10KHz. Is this possible?
    Thanks,

    LV2010,
Thank you for using the forums!
First off, I ran your VI as is with one AI. I received the following error:
The message is letting you know you have your MIN set higher than your MAX. Basically, your max value is currently set to -10 and your min value is set to 10. Switch those, and you eliminate the error.
In order to read from both ai0 and ai1, you can simply put them both in the control window:
    This is called channel expansion.
In order to see the waveforms, I added a Waveform Graph to my front panel and then on the block diagram I wired it to the data output of the DAQmx read.
The DAQmx Read VI will read the channels in the order in which you specify in the Physical Channels terminal.
In terms of generating two outputs from AO0 and AO1 at the same time, that is definitely something you can do! I have attached the final VI, but this is how I did it...
First, I opened the example finder by going to Help >> Find Examples. On the bottom left, I selected the PXI-4461 and marked the box next to where it says "Limit results to hardware". Navigating to Hardware Input and Output >> DAQmx >> Analog Generation >> Voltage, I opened the example "Cont Gen Voltage Wfm-Int Clk-Non Regeneration.vi".
Taking a look, this will allow us to generate one waveform at one frequency. First off, I know I want to output two different waveforms with separate information. I selected the relevant indicators and controls, then pressed Ctrl+C and dragged it over to create a copy. I changed labels and moved stop button to make it more appealing, and changed the waveform information.
Then, I moved to the block diagram. I placed a new Function Generator.vi and moved/wired the controls/indicators I created above to the inputs/outputs of the new function.  I changed the error wire to go through the new Function Generator.vi before going into the DAQmx write. Lastly, I connected the sampling information from the first function generator to the new one.
Next, we need to change the write function. It is currently set up to write an along waveform with 1 channel and N samples. We want N channels and N samples. Change the DAQmx write to Analog >> Multiple Channels >> Multiple Samples >> 1D Waveform. By doing so, it creates an broken wire between the output of the one function generator.vi that is still wired to the input of the DAQmx write vi.
The reason for this is that the DAQmx write with N channels and N samples expects an array of waveforms, not a single waveform. I deleted this wire and placed a Build Array (Programming >> Arrays >> Build Array). I dragged it down to expand it to hold two waveforms, one for ao1 and one for ao0.
The order that you wire the two waveforms into the array will determine which waveform is output on which channel. The first waveform in the array will be output first. We will put the first function generator output to the first row of the Build Array function and the second to the bottom row. Then wire the output of the Build Array function into the DAQmx write.
The block diagram now looks like this:
All that is left is left is to specify what channels we want. We will again use channel expansion. Remember, the first waveform we wired into our array will be the first output, and the first in the list of the control will be the channel output first.
The front panel now looks like this:
And we are done! I have attached the final version of this VI as well as the edited version of the VI you posted.
I know this was long, but I hope it was helpful!
Also, here is an article and here is an example from our community forums you may find helpful.

  • Error during printing.

I seem to have a weird error. Whenever I print system reports or preview them on the server it works just fine but if I go to print them or preview them on a terminal server I get an error. When I go to print I get the error "Error during printing; ensure all parameters are defined". When I preview them I get asked for the database login. I've put in the correct login and tried integrated security to no avail. I have looked at the self help application and tried both Case 1 and Case 2 under Environmental issue and I've done the Appendix. I have never seen had this problem before. Any suggestions?

    SQL Server: 2008 R2
    Terminal Server OS: Windows 2003

This problem is due to mismatch between too servers. You may have to modify registration keys to make is work.
Search (x86) in registry and/or user profile to find all Crystal Report related entries on the Terminal Server to correct.
