Error during system recovery

I have a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-112y. i did a factory reset using the recovery discs i created when i intitially got the pc. the recovery gets all the way up to 83% and then a message pops up "Recovery manager could not restore your computer using the factory image. Please contact HP support. Error code: 0xe0ef0001". now when it starts up it says BOOTMGR is missing. help please?

Have you tried the built-in System Recovery via F11?
Starting a Recovery from the startup logo screen (during system boot)
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01867418&tmp_task=solveCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc...
It has options to perform a restore point, repair the OS, or do a Recovery.
WARNING, please read this carefully:
Under I need help immediately, click System Recovery .
Select a backup option:
If you have already backed up personal files or you do not want to back up personal files, select Recover without backing up your files , and then click Next . Continue to the next step.
If you have not backed up personal files, select Back up your files first (recommended) , and then click Next .
Hope this advice and help turns your problem around.

    I had a virus I could not clean. (W32.crypt I think it is) I backed up everything to a external hd, and tried to do a system recovery. It got to 48% and I got a error message. error 0x400100200001005 I tried to recover twice. Now the files are gone from the HD and the recovery disk won't go through. I tried the Kapersky recovery but no help there...Any advice, I thought about upgrading to windows 7 64 bit. PLEASE HELP....Thanks in advance. Cmax
    Hello cwmax2000, Here  is a link that may have some useful information.
    If you wanted to use Windows 7 x64, you would be required to perform a fresh, clean install. You could not upgrade to Windows 7 x64.
    You might go to this Microsoft  Link  and download the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, and see if your system and applications would support Windows 7 x64.

    Do you mean you actually ''want'' Coupon Companion? It's malware, or at best, adware.
    If you can't remove Coupon Companion from your computer, first try using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

  • Please help: Recovery Manager Error code during system recovery

    The notebook is a HP Pavilion dv2000. When accessing Recovery manager after pressing F11 upon bootup and selecting System Recovery it comes up the the screen:
    Factory image recovery where is attempts to reformat the windows partition on the Hard drive and reinstall the original content
    Within a few seconds of the above mentioned it brings up an Error:
    ERROR 0X4001001300001002. If this issue continues contact HP Support.
    Rebooting it does not help.

    There is nothing other than the power cord plugged in. I did run the diagnostic from the Recovery manager just on the Cwindows partition) and it came back fine. I'm currently running it from the cmos diagnostics to see if it gives me anything different, so far the quicktest came back fine.

  • Error during restore/recovery and 'open resetlogs'

    Hello forum. I'm attempting to restore a database to a new host and have run into an error during the opening of the database (with resetlogs). The renaming of the datafiles, restore, switching of datafiles, and recovery are all done by an rman script, the contents of which are below:

    I searched for a decription of the 06054 error, and found that if the archive logs weren't available, then to run "alter database open resetlogs;", which I did. Here's the output:

    I've done all of this twice now, with the same result. I've googled PLS-801 and found more than a few instances of people getting this code, but not during a database open after a restore. Can anyone shed some light on what might have gone wrong? In the interest of brevity, I left out the rest of the restore process prior to running the database restore, but other than setting "compatible" and "db_recovery_file_dest_size", it was all by the book.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the reply Pierre.
    I am not using RMAN Duplicate. Yes, the source of the backup is an RAC. The destination is a single server, with the DB on the filesystem. Here's an overview of of the commands I ran and the procedure.
    Copied tar'd backup controlfile and datafiles to destination machine. Untar'd. Install 10.2.0.1.0 on destination machine, patch to 10.2.0.2.0.
    OS> sqlplus /nologin
    SQL> alter system set compatible = '10.2.0.2.0' scope=spfile;
    SQL> alter system set db_recovery_dest_file_size = '8g'; scope spfile;
    SQL> shutdown immediate;
    SQL> startup; (to verify changes took...)
    SQL> shutdown immediate;
    OS> Copy control file from untar'd dir and place in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/, truncate name to c-DBID-date-00.
    OS> rman target /
    RMAN> startup nomount;
    RMAN> set dbid <dbid from control file>;
    RMAN> restore controlfile from autobackup; (finds control file with no problem...)
    RMAN> alter database mount;
    RMAN> @/home/oracle/rman_dr.rman (script cited in first post, to rename datafiles from ASM to filesystem, restore, switch files, and recover...)
    RMAN> alter database open resetlogs; (as cited before...)
    If I'm not using Duplicate and not specifying dates, the UNTIL/SET UNTIL commands aren't necessary, correct?

  • How do I restore backup swm files created during system recovery from external hard drive

    Good day,
    I was facing some problems with my laptop (HP Envy 17 3D Notebook with windows 7 home premium, 64 bit) and I had to return it back to its original state using system recovery.
    During the process I was asked if I want to back up my data. I have chosen to backup my data in the flash drive. Once the process has completed and my laptop is to the original state, I tried to recover my backup but it tells me:
    The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.
    If i click run as administrator it tell me:
    Windows cannot find 'F:\Backup_2015-04-29 143842\Restore.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.
    there are files labeled like backup.swm, backup1.swm, backup2.swm. I can't open these files or do anything with them. In a text document it lists all the files it apparently copied. It is only a list of text, nothing else.
    any help will be greatly appriciated.

  • Errors with System Recovery

    I have a HP Pavilion, with Windows Vista and kept getting Blue Screen Errors so started to do a System Recovery, did the backup cd's and they seem to work okay (4 discs) then when if finished the Recovery and restarted it said to contact HP configurations were not correct.....Help any ideas? Thank you!

    Hi there, thank you, I did run the tests and it said everything was fine (I did this before I actually started the Recovery) and I did try to use the Recovery Discs that I had made in 2008 but I got an error saying they would not work.  I had bought my computer at Costco and it already had everything installed and it did not come with Windows Vista CD's or Office so if I went to buy a new hard drive would I need to purchase all of those programs again or could I use my back up CD's I made before the intstall?  Thank you for your help, I feel so lost and feel like I have spent so much time on this!!!

  • F3D failure during system recovery on my S1800-700

    When I try to use my system recovery disk I get through the reformat stage, but then as it starts loading software I get a !!!Error!!! F3D failed message.
    I've tried resetting Bios to default and rebooting from XP disk but without success.
    Anyone got any good ideas? I'm off to find my big hammer!
    Thanks
    Dave

    Hello Dave,
    I searched a little bit aroud in the net, but I found nothing about a F3D error message.
    Setting the BIOS to default was a good idea!
    My first question is about additional hardware. Did you upgrade any Hardware to your notebook (like RAM extension and PCMCIS Cards or Port replicator). If yes, remove it before you start the recovery procedure!
    Secondly is your CD drive ok? Does it make strange sounds, also with other CDs/DVDs? Or did a error message occure the last time when copied something from CD to HDD?
    In the end check also your Recovery CD if there is anywhere a scratch or dirt!
    Good luck
    Chris

  • Stuck at "One time setup" process during System Recovery

    My computer is HP Pavilion m7640n. I had purchased a system recovery disc set from HP, and tried to use it to completely format and recover my computer. It was fine to use the disc to format the computer; but after it done use the system recovery disc, and asked me to remove the disc from the CD/DVD drive and restart the computer, then computer run into the Window XP desktop screen, and there is a full screen that pop up and it said "During this One-Time setup process do not turn off computer" etc. something like that. So I waited it to do the works, and I waited whole afternoon and overnight, the next day i woke up it "seems" done and so i restart my computer; But again, that "one-time setup process" full screen pop up again, and it seem will take so long time to do the works/setup again, so I took my computer to Fry's Electronic store's computer service to let me help to check what is wrong with this system recovery. And this had past 2 weeks already and they also still stuck at that "one time setup" screen too...........
    Now, my questions are, Is this "one time setup" usually take 24+ hours to get done? Is there anything wrong with the System Recovery Disc set that I purchased from HP? If the disc has problem, how do I exchange it and get a new disc from HP? Are there any local HP Stores out there?

    The one time setup shouldn't take more than 20 minutes.  Be sure to disconnect all devices except the mouse, keyboard and monitor. Also disconnect from the internet.

  • How do I restore backup1.swm files created during system recovery from external hard drive.

    On my hp dm1 with windows 7 In full detail, this is what I did. I clicked to do a system recovery, it asked if I wanted to backup the files, I said yes. It said it backed up my files on the external hard drive. I continued the system recovery. It set my computer back to factory settings. I tried to recover my backup, it acted like it was restoring the files and showed them going into the c: area in a folder. I open the folder and it says the folder is empty. I hit properties and the folder contains 10mb+ of data. I go back into my LaCie drive, there are files labeled like backup.swm, backup1.swm, backup2.swm. I can't open these files or do anything with them. In a text document it lists all the files it apparently copied. It is only a list of text, nothing else. Have a 12 page research paper in these back ups that is due in a few hours so any help will be greatly appriciated.

    @Daniella1985,
    If the standard procdure of locating the program launcher (a .exe file) on the first backup media (disk 1 or the external storage device) is not working, then you can manually extract the files using 7-zip.
    7-zip can be found here.
    Once 7-zip is installed, open it and navigate to the first .swm file of the backup.  Right-click the .swm file and select 7-zip>open archive.  Once that opens, it should reveal the contents of the .swm files.  If the file contains something you want to keep, you can either extract each invidual file or extract the entire directory.  If you want to extract each individual file, highlight the desired file and click the extract button at the top.  If you want to extract the entire directory, make sure no items are highlighted and click the extract  button at the top.
    This is a manual process and it can be a large task depending on how many files were backed up, but it is one method to get the backedup files when the standard procedure is not working.

  • DB Error during System Copy Import

    Hello,
    We are currently doing a heterogeneous system copy of an internal Solution Manager
    7.01 (running on Linux SLES10 SP2 64Bit) to a new machine (running on
    Linux SLES11 SP1 64Bit). The database we are using on both side is MaxDB.
    During the export phase, nothing went wrong. The pre and post requisites were implemented.
    But during the import phase with sapinst and more especially during the 'import ABAP' step we are facing the following errors.
    __SAPDFACT.log :__
    (IMP) ERROR: DbSlExeModify/DbSlLobPutPiece failed

    Before the export we executed the report for the DDL migration, created
    the right *.sql files. We copied those sql files in the right folder
    according to note 771209 and the System Copy guide.
    We also tried to implement note 942540 - System copy fails on SAPDFACT
    import, but we are not able to drop the mentioned tables. We are
    getting 'unknown tables' whereas we see them in DB.
    We would like to avoid restarting the export and import phases from the beggining as there is approximately 80GB to transfer each time and we are not running this on a server but desktop PC.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Johann

    Hello Andreas
    thank you for your answer. However, the table specified in the Note is not found when I am running the specified request in the correct schema:
    -4004: POS(16) Unknown table name:/MAXDB/INDEXSTATEMENTS SQLSTATE: 42000
    SAP_BW component in Solution Manager 7.01 SPS24 is SAPKW70106. As this BW release is already more recent than the one recommended in the Note, this issue should not be link to an old BW component patch version then.
    In the meantime, I have applied Notes 888210 and 942540. But I cannot drop the tables specified since the user SAPSMJ has no DROPIN privilege and I cannot grant them even when using SUPERDBA user.
    So I think we need to re-run the export as we are running out of options to try continuing the import phase.
    Regarding the use of last R3load release, would you know the path to download it on the marketplace and if I need the last  R3load kernel version (7.3) or only the last patch for 7.01 and knowing that I am using Netweaver 7.01 packages for the copy ? R3load used so far is 7.01/V1.4.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Johann

  • Error during system copy

    Hello Experts,
                               I am doing a heterogeneous copy. During the Start Instance phase of the copy the instance fails to start. The services are started, the DB is up too, everything looks fine but still copy is not continuing. Here are my findings.

    >                            I am doing a heterogeneous copy
    Just for completion: You need to have a certified migration consultant on-site to do heterogeneous migration, otherwise you'll loose SAP support for the target system (see http://service.sap.com/osdbmigration --> FAQ).

    This seems to be an OS specific IPC shared memory configuration issue.
    What OS do you use?

  • Several errors during system preparation / basic configuration

    Hello,
    during the basic configuration I get stuck in the process step configure automatically -> setup bw.
    In the slg1 I can see several errors where I don't know if they are related to my bw problem or other probleme. Maybe someone can give me a hint how to solve the issue.
    @5C\QError@     2011/11/10 16:58:07 : DIAGTPL/CONFIG/HANDLER=CL_DIAGLS_ABAP_INST_TECH_SY Item does not exist
    @5C\QError@     Product system DUM has no active standalone product version     @35\QLong text exists@
    @5C\QError@     No detected product instances available for technical system C21     @35\QLong text exists@
    in the Solman_setup I have the problem that
    ESR: Extractor setup is not sucessful!
    Cube 0SM_BPMRH is not active and will now be activated automatically
    System status failed for system
    Could someone please help me to solve some of the problems?
    Thanks a lot, Vanessa

    Hello Vanessa,
    I wouldn't recommend looking at SLG1 at all times and try to find solutions for it, since Solution Manager deals with a huge landscape and in most cases some warning is thrown in the logs for any reason.
    For example, the "CL_DIAGLS_ABAP_INST_TECH_SY Item does not exist" and "no active standalone product version @35\QLong text exists@" can be due to systems coming from SLD to the LMDB with no correct definition. If SLD is not passing this information, it is 99% because the system is not well defined there. Hence it is just a warning.
    Now if you see something in SLG1 and indeed you have issues in this diagnostics system, it must be investigated.
    For your BI problem:
    Please execute the steps as described in section "3.2.1 Activation of
    Info Cube from BI Content" in the Setup BPA Guide.
    1430754 Business Process Analytics: Setup guide
    (https://websmp101.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700001210492010E/Setu
    p_Guide_BP_Analytics.pdf)
    Furthermore, I strongly recommend that, for Solution Manager 7.1, you make sure you have the latest SP in ABAP and JAVA. Now we are at ST400 SP03  and LM-SERVICE SP03 patch level 1.
    You must not forward to the next steps if you have a step yellow, red or with Update checked.
    Best regards,
    Guilherme

  • Error during Backup/Recovery settings configuration

    Hi all,
    Using the Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Application Server control,
    i am configuring backup/recovery settings for my infrastructure tier in a 10g Rel 2 application server environment. however after specifying the various locations for Log Files, Configuration files, Metadata repository database backup etc i get the following error after clicking the 'Ok' button.
    An Internal Error has occurred while performing the operation.
    Performing configuration ...
    oracle_sid: cinfra
    The command /oracle/appn/oracle/infra/perl/bin/perl /oracle/appn/oracle/infra/backup_restore/bkp_restore.pl -m configure -h /oracle/appn/oracle/infra -f > /infrahome/backups/log_files/2009-12-06_17-13-38_output.log failed with return code 255
    i am at a loss as to why i am having this error and how to fix it.
    I examined the log file and saw an error snippet saying
    *"Unable to get dbid from the database. Please ensure that ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID are set to the same values used when starting up the database and that the database is open.... Failure: Configure failed"*
    Also examined another file generated at the same time as the output log file and in there i saw the following
    *"ld,so.1: oracle: fatal: relocation error: file /oracle/appn/oracle/product/10.2.0/cm2t/lib/libjox10.so: symbol kgestKguard_: referenced symbol not found*
    *ERROR:*
    *ORA-12547: TNS: lost contact*
    *SP2-0751: Unable to connect to oracle. exiting SQL*Plus"*
    Apart from the infrastructure database, i have another database with SID 'cm2t' on the same machine and i am suspecting that OEM Application server control is referencing the wrong file while it's doing it's work. How do i tell it to look in the right place if indeed that is the cause of my problem?
    In my config.inp file all the right parameter values are in place.
    Thanks.
    Steve.

    Hi AMN,
    Thanks for your reply. I managed to solve it by taking the following steps.
    I use the runstartupconsole.sh script to start up my infrastructure tier. At startup it was using an LD_LIBRARY_PATH pointing to that used by an existing Oracle database instance on the same machine.
    I set ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID, LD_LIBRARY_PATH etc correctly before running the runstartupconsole.sh script and after that i was able to setup my backup/recovery settings properly.
    I hope this will be useful to others.
    Steve.
