Error During Track Initialization

I created a presentation in Keynote and exported it into iDVD6. I burned the presentation with not problem. Then I had to make a change in the presentation in Keynote and now iDVD won't let me burn any presentations from Keynote. I can burn others like iMovie. So I know my burner works.
The message is:
There was an error during track initialization and iDVD can't continue burning the DVD. Select "Delete Encoded Assets' from the Advanced-menu and try burning this project again.
I tried deleting the encoded assets, I've tried creating a new presentation and importing it, I tried renaming the presentation - still the same message.
I'm using Verbatim DVD-R.
Can anyone help?

Suggestion:
Drag and drop the plist for keynote as well as iDVD to the trash. Empty the trash and restart your computer. Your computer will make a new default set of preferences for each.
com.apple.iDvd.plist
com.apple.iWork.Keynote.plist
Hope this helps but if not come on back.

  • 6.0.3 Error During Disc Initialization for both DVD+R and Disc Image - Help

    I've been a mac user for a few years now, but I just bought a new MacBook, and my first superdrive! I'm all excited to test out the new hardware along with iDVD.
    I've made a rather simple DVD setup and the first time through it was encoding for about an hour and then it gave an error message which I don't recall other than it mentioned QT7. I ran updater, no new updates that I needed and I tried again, and from then on I've been getting the Error During Disc Initialization message when burning to my DVD+Rs or when I try and save as a disc image (yes, I've deleted the encoding assets). I have about 20GB free on HDD, and I'm trying to burn approx. 100min of video. I've rebooted multiple times, and I've remade my project a couple times but no dice.
    Any idears?
      Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    What hardware do you have???
    You didn't answer Sue's question about free space on
    your start-up drive. You should have 20GB+ free.
    What are you sending to iDVD?
    Verbatim DVD-R, not DVD+R, are very reliable, unlike
    TDK and Memorex.
    Also look here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302925
    I am running on a 2.0 ghz MacBook with a SuperDrive using Sony DVD+R. I will definitely pick up some Verbatim DVD-Rs though to see if that makes iDVD happy.
    I have cleared up some room and now I have around 50GB free.
    I am trying to make a DVD of two seperate .mp4s of a soccer game. I have 3 pictures and two buttons.

    Hi Pratik,
    I am going to explain in detail, what i have done sofar.
    We have installed MSA and create a Site and Assigned.
    We did initial Download to CDB and Subscribed few publication.
    Y'day we have installed MAR and MAS in the same machine and i have started configuring MAR and MAS. While configuring i have created the service TA_CRM using MAR Transport configurator.
    After configuration in CRM "SMO5TRNSRV" & "SMO5TRNITM" two tables are have 4 records. But when i checked in SQL DB in client it is blank.
    When we see the error message, it is clearly says these two tables are empty/inconsistency. Also we are getting the same error message in all the MSA.
    Guide me how to solve this issue.
    I try to find out any MW Object which needs to me initial download or subscripe.
    Can you throw some light on this?

    Where you assign the role depends on how you have setup your ume configuration - to the ABAP stack or have it managed in the Java stack
    If its just a java stack configuration for user management page of the java stack
    http://<servername>:50000/useradmin and give the user as many roles and permissions from there
    otherwise its PFCG in the abap stack of your system

  • IDVD 6.02  track initialization problems and no disk image

    "There was an error during track initialization and iDVD can't continue burning this DVD (the disc has not been touched yet!). Select 'Delete Encoded Assets' from the Advanced-menu and try burning this project again."
    This has happened 5 times now both when trying to burn to DVD-R and trying to save as disk image on desktop. Very frustrating.
    Project exported to IDVD from Keynote 3.01 running OSX 10.4.7 on a Powermac G5 D2.3 GHz with 2.5GB RAM.
    The project is just 1GB using iDVD 4 theme "Transparent Blue" with a run time of 15:14 mins and HD has over 20GB free.
    Also tried it from the other internal HD which has over 100GB free.
    PBG4 Ti DVI and PMac G5 D2.3Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Both TV (using a Sony DVD player) and on my Lacie
    Photon 20 monitor - the slideshow jpegs and Keynote
    fonts look poor compared to the straight QT movies
    that are part of the project and made using iMovie.
    Your QT movies are probably much higher resolution than your DVD.
    JEPGS are pretty hi res.
    Ultimately, all the resolution you can get on an NTSC DVD is 640x480 pixels in the square pixel terms of digital cameras. The HD discs we can create today have the same 'limited' resolution - they just stretch the pixels on playback.
    Someday ... when we can all afford systems with TRUE HD format burners and players, things will get better.

  • Idvd failure track initialization

    Have made a keynote from PDF files and then exported it to idvd via quicktime. At the burn portion it says error track initialization. Before that it was saying delete encoding...which I did and then the next burn was error with track initialization.
    Am able to use toast and burn without the idvd themes, etc.

    I think the problem is probably lack of hard drive space. How much free space is left?

  • Oracle ODBC  - Internal Error - unable to initialize NLS during driver load

    I'm having some trouble with my ODBC connections which I hope someone can please help me with!
    About 6 weeks ago all was working as normal.
    As far as I know there have been no updates to the ORacle DB, the Windows XP operating system or the ODBC Drivers.
    Today when I opened access and visual case 2 to connect to Oracle I was at first greeted with a:
    unable to connect SQLState=IM004 SQL_HANDLE_ENV
    error. ODBC also kept crashing.
    I restarted the computer and was confronted with a different error:
    odbc SQLSTate 08004 ORA 12154 TNS could not resolve the connect identifier specified
    I was able to fix this error by setting the environment variable TNS_ADMIN in windows xp environment variables. I'm extremely confused about how this happened though as it was working and I don't think anything has changed.
    I was then able to connect to the database via Microsoft Access but when I opened Visual Case 2 and tried to make an update, I was confronted with the following error:
    Oracle ODBC Driver - internal error - unable to initialize NLS during driver load
    I looked in the registry at:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oracle\KEY_OraClient10g_home1
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oracle\KEY_OraClient10g_home2
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oracle\KEY_OraDb10g_home1
    and NLS_LANG was set to "AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252" in all 3 places.
    (Though KEY_OraClient10g_home2 only had 4 entries as opposed to KEY_OraClient10g_home1's 13 entries)...
    Since I made those changes I can no longer connect through Access.
    I just receive a ODBC - connection to 'xxx' failed
    Advice greatly appreciated!!!!
    Edited by: user11150264 on Aug 25, 2009 10:21 PM

    Actually it sort of does...
    I switched the ODBC connection to use instant client and now it's all working again.
    The biggest mystery is what changed to make it suddenly stop working the old way...

  • An error occurred during the initialization of the view manager - Web IC

    We just upgraded our CRM Dev system from 4.0 to 5.0.  We've already done this once on our Sandbox.  However, in our Dev environment, I execute CRM_IC.  Select my profile and then get an exception.
    An error occurred during the initialization of the view manager
    An exception has occurred
    Exception Class CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL
    Text: Dereferencing of the NULL reference
    Program: CL_BSP_WD_VIEW_MANAGER========CP
    Include: CL_BSP_WD_VIEW_MANAGER========CM003
    Source Text Row: 86
    This is the line of code that the exception occurs.  I debugged through, but not sure what the problem is.    It seems like it should have something to do with the runtime profile, but I can't seem to find anything wrong.  This problem doesn't happen in the sandbox, but we are on a slightly higher support pack in our Development environment.
        get own initial rep view reference
          INITIAL_REP_VIEW = REPOSITORY->GET_INITIAL_VIEW( ).
    Any ideas?  I've already search OSS.
    Thanks, Cat

    Thirumala,
      Thank for your reply.  I already recompiled CRM_IC.  I'm trying to execute the standard Webclient and still getting the error.  I also reactivated CRM_IC_DT_REP and CRM_IC_RT_REP, but no luck.   I went to SICF and made sure all the services starting with CRM_IC were activated too.  Any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Cat

  • DB13 error: 0003 Error during initialization

    Dear All,
    Since last 2 days, Production backup is getting failed with error "0003 Error during initialization".
    Strangely, there are no related logs to investigate further... Nothing was changed in backup related configurations.
    We are using Tivoli (TSM) backup solution..
    System Details: HP-UX 11.31i, Oracle10g (10.2.0.4), ECC 6.0
    In DB13 Action logs, it is showing following details only...
    Action: Whole database offline backup
    Brbackup logfile : bedjjsnb.log   ##### Actually it should show filename something like "bedjjsnb.aff"
    Return Code : 0003 Error during initialization
    When I click on "Show Actiion/Detail log", it shows nothing... (Log file does not exists..)
    There is no file with above filename in /oracle/<SID>/sapbackup and in back<SID>.log
    I have checked below things :
    1. BRTOOL permissions (As per note 113747 - Permissions for DBA tools BRTools and SAPDBA)
    2. /oracle/<SID>/sapbackup permissions (it is 755 with ora<sid>:dba ownership)
    3. I have checked /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log, but there is no error.
    4. Test for communication between SAP server and Tivoli is OK.
    5. TSM Session query is also returning desired result.
    6. I made sure that there are free and scratched tape in TSM for SAP backup pool.
    7. No other backup was running at the time of SAP backup.
    I have tried taking backup on DISK which is successful without any errors or warnings.
    What else I can check ? Am I missing something ?
    Any inputs will be highly appreciated...
    I will try to fire backup manually later in the evening after business hours to see what exactly going wrong in between.

  • "Track initialization error" when burning DVD

    This message keeps coming up when I try to burn a DVD in iDVD from my G4 laptop. Movie is 28 minutes long. ANY help would be very gratefully appreciated. THANKS

    Rob,
    Thanks for posting!
    I was at the point of starting a new discussion as I was afraid nobody was watching this one any more. To make things easy for everyone, I'll use the quoting method in order to answer to each and every question I have an answer for. So let's just go for it...
    "If i understand correctly...you shot new footage and used a different computer and it still did the same thing!"
    Nope. I've always used the same hardware/software for importing/editing my footage(s). Hardware: Power Mac G5 DP 1.8GHz / Software: iMovie v5.0.2 and iDVD v5.0.1
    "Can you down load the video to the Mac Mini and try it from there rather than transferring the project?"
    As you can imagine, it would be such a big hassle to import/edit the movie in the Mac mini, executing precisely the same steps I did when using the Power Mac G5.
    "Delete your audio track and try it again."
    Been there, done that. No way Jose!
    "Without any chapter markers."
    Didn't try that, though I've removed the chapter markers from 'risky' points, like transitions, etc.
    "What is on your audio track and where did it come from?"
    My audio tracks consist of the sound contained by the movie itself, plus two AAC (m4a) songs bit rated at 192kbps using iTunes v5.0 (also tried with .mp3 format but the result was the same). The tracks have a 30 to 40 seconds gap between them, so no sound mix between these 2 songs.
    "As well how did you shoot the footage and with what type of camera....just wondering."
    No special procedures here, Rob. I'm no professional, so I usually turn camera ON and start recording straight away. My camera is a JVC Mini DV GR-DX77E perfectly recognised by the Apple iMovie software.
    "Have you successfully burned any DVD's before? What method are you burning it in Best quality or Performance? How do you transfer the project to DVD?"
    Yes. My first tape was imported using iMovie v5.0.2, using the 'Best Quality' preference, edited there and exporting to iDVD, and there (in iDVD) is where trouble starts. So I googled for troubleshooting and stopped here for a carefull reading:
    http://dvd.kentidwell.com/?page_id=65
    I ran OnyX v1.5.2 for Panther and able to burn my project into a DVD without glitches. One thing I noticed (and honestly this can make the difference here), is that before I ran OnyX, everytime iDVD finished the assets task, it started encoding audio and here's where the error took place. After the OnyX intervention, it started encoding video and then audio successfully.
    "I know it is a pain to do these things but we will probably find out it is something simple blocking the burn. Try it also with a different Menu theme. Get a real simple one."
    I've tried the 'real simple' menus, like the ones bundled with iDVD. Sorry, but it makes no difference.
    "What photos are you putting in the menu theme?"
    No photos in the projects. Just the movie and audio tracks (preferable all AAC).
    "You could also try to burn it as a disc image to disc utilities and see if that works."
    Burn as disc image gives exactly the same error at exactly the same point: Track initialization error.
    "Start from the very beginning and dellete anything to do with iMovie or iDVD. In the libraries and in Documents"
    I've deleted the .plist docs for iMovie and iDVD software, but it didn't solve.
    "I know you used Onyx but I have Onyx too and it never worked for me."
    Carefull to see if you're using the correct version for your operating system, as there are different ones for Jaguar, Panther and Tiger.
    "It didn't delete or clean anything."
    It does for me. You have to use the 'cleanning' option in the application's toolbar.
    "I am going to toss it and try and down load it again."
    http://www.titanium.free.fr/pgs/english.html
    "Now everytime I use it it comes up with an error message...so delete what you can yourself."
    I suppose OnyX comes with an uninstaller, so give it a try.

  • Error during building

    hello,
    i am trying to burn a dvd from idvd using professional encoding. twice at the end of burning (4 hours later) i get a message saying there has been an error during building (multiplexing?) i burned the same idvd project using high encoding and everything seemed to work ok. i want to try the pro encoding to see if there is a difference in quality.
    another question... my project is in widescreen and looks great on my computer but in my dvd player, on my tv it's a bit stretched. why would this happen and can i fix or avoid it?
    thanks for any advice
    jean

    Hi
    Multiplex error is a very complex problem due to many things (long long list following) - on common but not obvious reason is that material on the iDVD menu goes outside the TV-Safe area (or just touching it).
    So first - turn on TV-Safe area and move any object well inside of this.
    Wide screen stretched - usually (as I think) it is due to making a 4x3 movie in a 16x9 wide-screen project OR the other way around. This forces one to on flat-screen TV (or other) set the presenting view right - My has 4x3, wide-screen, zoom and auto-wide-screen and I have to switch this by my remote for some DVD I've made "wrong" way.
    Now my long long list on Multiplex Error

    B.    Location of Chapters
    • Can’t be at start or end of movie (Skip first/start one - iDVD sets this by it self. At the End - no need)

    Chuck, Chicago 2/7/2009.
    Back again. Here is what I have found to work. I also have and use a LaCie DVD-R/RW DL external drive and a LaCie external hard drive as well. Since yesterday I have tried a few ways to burn a themed iDVD project having four 56 minute movies on it, amounting to 226 minutes onto a DVD DL disc, capacity 240 minutes. Apple tech support really didn't know what to do but gave me a very good tip. I had two options left. Apple tech support's tip was to try disc image. One of the replies on a thread with this subject said not to, but my experience today is good. Put your project onto "Burn to disc image," under "iDVD, file." Yesterday encoding took me 23 1/2 hours. Overnight for iDVD disc image, encoding took 21 1/2 hours (again) while I slept. This morning I tried to copy/burn disc image to a DVD with Roxio Toast 7, and it stopped near the end of the burn with some kind of "error" message. So then I tried Utilities> Disc Utility> Burn icon, and followed it through. Be sure to click the DVD DL drive in the window "Burn disc in.". I had one other problem though. At the end of a 46 minute copy, it started to verify, and at the end of verify it rejected the burn. So I tried again, and when "verify" appeared, I clicked on "Skip." The disc finished burning and is doing fine and well. A long and tortuous process, but at last something works. I made several additional copies using Disc Utility. Best wishes. Chuck, Chicago.
    2. Disconnect any other external devices not absolutely needed.
    eg external USB/USB2 hard disks, other FW hard disks etc.

    First, I do not think that mixing widescreen and standard makes a difference in iDVD.
    Second, you should use a better brand of DVD disk. Also, many of us have experienced fewer problems on playback with DVD-R disks. Recommended brands here are Verbatim, Maxell and Taio Yuden. Memorex and TDK are not consistent and may not give you a correct burn. They apparently have fewer layers in the composition of the disk. I have always used Verbatim DVD-R disks and have not had any burn problems.
    Also, choose a slower burn speed, 4x or less.
    Third, to determine if the iDVD project will burn properly, create a disk image file (from within iDVD, go File->Save as Disk Image) and test it. Mount the disk image and then open DVD Player (in Applications) and view your project. If it plays correctly, you can then burn the actual DVD disk from the disk image file using Disk Utility.

    I did everything I've seen suggested, but a friend (who used to be an Apple Genius) suggested that I do a safe reboot (by holding down the shift key until you see the spinning gear on gray background, then release, then restart when your start-up screen appears).
    It worked, and I got a clean burn from iDVD.
    Hopefully this can help other people.

    Well, I finally got it, and it was odd enough to post here incase anyone looks this topic up again. Many things were tried, including burning the unedited film, the edited film without titles and chapter markers, abbreviating the chapter markers in case length was the issue (remember the old iMovie used to truncate them when moving to iDVD?). In the process, I noticed that one, and only one, chapter marker was on the same line as the title marker. All the others were on the line above. The only way I seemed able to change that was to clip a few seconds of film. After that last clip, the offending marker took a place on the line above, as were all the others. That run published, compiled completely and burned. That's one for the books.

    To add my experience with Multiplex Errors using iDVD (7.0.4), I recently created two iDVD projects
    Video from both passed from FCE 4.01 with chapters
    One project worked fine in creating disk image file
    The other gave Multiplex Errors
    I tried suggestions to remove special characters and no chapter marks at beginning, but nothing worked
    Note that I've used iDVD for dozens of projects and this is first time I've run into Multiplex Errors
    Anyway, for problem project, I tried an experiment where I removed all chapters in FCE and passed to new iDVD project
    This time multiplex errors gone
    So had something to do with chapters
    So now I tried numerous experiments to remove individual chapters and try again creating disk image with new iDVD project
    After numerous tries, I was able to narrow problem down to 1 "Bad" chapter mark
    That is, when I left the "bad" chapter in my FCE project and passed to iDVD, iDVD gave multiplex error
    When I removed "bad" chapter mark (and others in), no multiplex error
    As a final experiment, I moved "bad" chapter mark about 5-10 secs beyond original point and passed to iDVD, the multiplex errors now magically went away and I was able to finally create my disk image.
    I have no idea why this worked, but thought I'd mention here in case someone else runs into similar problem.

    In addition to Bengt's fine advice, burning errors can occur if you have located any of your menu buttons wholly or partly outside of the safe TV viewing area. Go to your main project menu, then click on View/Show TV Safe Area, to check. Drag into the safe viewing area any buttons that are outside the safe viewing area.
    Russ One - suggest this
    Multiplex Error-There was an error during muxing preparation
    One thing that worked for me was to export the video w/o chapter markers as a self contained movie (thereby not loosing the edits & etc). Then make a new FCE project and import that movie into a new sequence and add the chapter markers. I've used "-", "&" and "," with no problem in the chapter names. Removing the markers or exporting without them did solve the problem but renaming them with just numbers 1,2,3....5, did not solve the problem and since this problem seems to happen with with iMovie as well, it would suggest the problem is in the video or audio and in combination with the chapter markers iDVD just can't handle it. The only other possibility is that both iMovie and FCE share the same or similar chapter marker code that some how is corrupting the markers.
    Summary - What to try
    1. Chapters
    • Only A to Z and 0 to 9 in chapter title
    • No Chapter mark at very beginning of movie
    • No Chapter mark in or within 2 seconds from any transition in movie
    2. TV-safe area for buttons (no one outside this)
    3. Safe re-boot
    4. No other external devices connected - that are not needed
    SDMacuser adds to this
    • On #4 ... No ext. devices. Some think this applies mainly to ext. FW. Not the case. Also applies to ext. USB2 as well (not to mention flash drives too).
    Do not leave 3rd party devices / camera / camcorder plugged in unless it is being used with iDvd's One Step process. Certain web cams can trigger this also (especially ones with added features like LED light/s that draw additional power from the FW or USB bus).
    5. Minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-up hard disk
    6. Make a DiskImage first - reduces where problem originates
    7. Trash iDVD pref file
    8. Make a new iDVD project
    9. Movies in project with same aspect ratio eg 4x3 or 16x9
    10. No other programs/applications running during iDVD process. eg Internet, screen & energy savers

    7. Trash iDVD pref. file
    8. Make a new iDVD project
    9. Movies in project with same aspect ratio e.g. 4x3 or 16x9
    10. No other programs/applications running during iDVD process. e.g. Internet, screen & energy savers

  • Error during startup of portal service after SPS11

    Hi Guys,
    After installation of SPS11 to our 2004s portal system we have problem with startup of our Portal service.
    Before SPS11 we had SPS9 system and everything was working correctly.
    Our service is connecting to Database during its initialization.
    This is part of our code:
    Properties p = new Properties();
    p.put("java.naming.factory.initial", "com.sap.engine.services.jndi.InitialContextFactoryImpl");
    try
         Context ctx = new InitialContext(p);
         _ds = (DataSource)ctx.lookup(POOLNAME);
         Connection conn = _ds.getConnection();
         conn.close();
         LogWriter.traceInfo(LogWrapper.trace,"Connection established.");
    } catch (NamingException ex)
    The error is:
    #1.5#000802A2BF4A00580000038200003E3000042C1F016BDC9A#1174411586934#System.err#sap.com/irj#System.err#Guest#2####a813ff20d70611dbbcd7000802a2bf4a#SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_27##0#0#Error##Plain###com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NameNotFoundException: Object not found in lookup of SABMILLER.

    The probleam appears only during startup of portal!
    If you deploy service on running portal it is started without any problems.
    We tried to apply note (Note 960199 - 2-Phase Init Mechanism for Portal Services is Deprecated) but without success.
    This is modification of our portalapps.xml as described in Note.
        <service name="StatemanagementLogService">
          <service-config>
            <property name="className" value="cz.sap.statemanagement.StatemanagementLogService"/>
            <property name="startup" value="true"/>
            <property name="twophaseinit" value="always"/>
          </service-config>
    Please could you help us with this problem?
    Anyone has an idea what is wrong?
    Thanks a lot
    Ondrej

    Hi Nirmal,
    thanks you for your quick response. This is what the installer returns when I use your suggested command:
    Mar 7, 2012 2:35:56 PM [Error]: The parameter jce_policy_zip in externally supplied configuration is invalid.
    I looked up the parameters for the STARTUP:
    rootdir [guiport] [httpport] [guistart] [guimode] [config] [sid] [instanceNr]
    Thus the jce_policy_zip is not a valid parameter.
    However, after deleting the file specified I could just run STARTUP again and this worked.
    Thanks
    Marcel
