Error everytime I export in Premiere Elements 7.0

I have made a slideshow with pictures that is ONLY 3 minutes long. It has one song added to it. In Adobe Photoshop elements I can save it with no problem. However, in Premiere I have tried saving it to Youtube, saving it as a windows media file, saving it as mpeg and basically every option on there. It runs for several minutes and looks like it is going to be okay and then at the end it hangs up and says something to the fact of "unable to return frame, aborting process". Then when I click okay it doesn't send me out of the program it just stops trying to export the file. When I go to "my videos" you can see the file I have attempted to export or when you go to youtube as well. But, nothing is in there! I have a dell latitude d820 with high speed internet. anything else runs find on here. I have had my computer all cleaned up and everything else runs extremely fast on this computer. This programs is pretty slow, but other than exporting it so far I have been able to use it fairly well. It is rather frustrating though to create a slideshow and then not be able to do anything with it. A waste of my money if you ask me. I am running Microsoft Windowns XP Pro Service Pack 3. I have 2.00 GHz, 1.0 GB Ram. I don't know what else anyone will need to know to help me, but I can look for it if you show me.
Should I be having problems with this? I have even tried shutting ALL other programs down while doing this so that Premiere is the only thing running to save memory, etc.
Can someone please help me? I got this program to replace Nero because I heard it was much better and so far I am not having any luck.

Marcy,
When you do re-size the photos, I'd also check closely to make sure that you do not have any gaps in your Timeline. If you are editing in Scenline, switch over to Timeline and Zoom in so you can see single frames. Step through your slideshow, looking for any gaps. Usually, "Failed to return frame" will happen if there is so little as a one-frame gap.
Also, the Rendering of your Project is completely dependent on your CPU. with a 2.0GHz CPU it will take some time. Also, the CODEC to compress the files, say WMV 9, will require even more time, as will any Effects that might have been added. This is pretty much life with any NLE. Even my dual quad-core workstation takes some time to Render.
One last suggestion, when you go to Export and Render, you might want to make sure that your AV, pop-up and spyware programs are shut down. They take quite a few CPU cycles and can bog down the process.
I'll bet that one, or both, of Steve's links will address this, plus more.
Good luck,
Hunt
[Edit] Just reread your post and it appears that you constructed your slideshow in PSE. That should NOT leave any gaps, so my warning about them might well be moot. Still, it never hurts to check the Timeline in PE, just to make sure, since that is a main cause of the error that you got.

I have been getting this message just a few nights ago after working on a project. Premiere was working at first for a few days but then this happened. Now everytime I try to activate the program it displays "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Premiere Elements to be shut down. We will attempt to save your current project".
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling premiere 3.0 but that didn't help. WILL SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My computer is a Dell Dimension Desktop running on Windows XP with 256 MB of RAM

There are a couple of similar threads, so I will post my solution to you also. This worked when I had the same problem.
I have found a couple of steps for a solutions that worked for the "encountered serious error" message when attempting to share the project to disk or computer file. Here was my solution that worked.
    1. I already compiled a project that took me 2 months and used video, photo, music. I added a new video track 'before' the other tracks and inserted a black jpg image, stretch it the entire timeline and make the opacity 0%. This covers any unseen 'gaps' in the project and won't interfere or cover anything else in the project.
    2. Go to file - project archiver - copy project to a new folder away from the current folder (this will include a copy of all media used in the timeline of the project - trust me it's worth the duplication!).
    3. Go to preferences - clear your media cache. Close the program.
    4. Hold down the left ctrl + shift and then click on the Premiere program icon. Keep holding the ctrl + shift until the welcome screen for Premiere appears.
    5. Open the new *.prel project you had saved in the new folder in step 2.
    6. Go to share and make your disk or computer file.
After trying all the recommendations of the various posts, this is what I found that worked (I didn't find step 2 in a post but was just trying to back up the work I did and found that it created a new *.prel file!). For some reason, when previously trying to share the project with the original *.Prel file, it didn't like having all the media in different folders from the project, even if they were a in a sub-folder within the project folder. It wanted all the media in the SAME FOLDER as the project.
I just now have a new error that I can't find the solution for in support or the forum yet. But that's another post.
I hope this helps someone else!

If you want to give some troubleshooting a try, I will stay with you until we get that Premiere Elements 11 Windows to work. I will have lot of questions because I believe the answers are in the details. Often I write problems with the same symptoms can (often do) have different causes. So, I look at each case for details specific to it.
    1. How long have you been running Premiere Elements 11 Windows 7 64 bit without this problem: few days, few weeks, few months, never worked? The usual drill...do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed and are you working from a User Account with Administrative Privileges? Are your video and audio card drivers up to date?
    2. What do your computer resources look like, available RAM, free hard drive space (derived from just Local Disk C or using a supplemental drive for scratch disks and video storage? Where are your scratch disks directed and how much free hard drive space is at that location? (See Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks.) Besides your ccleaner maintenance, have you checked for Adobe Folder previews and conformed audio pile ups? Have you cleaned the Media Cache Database (See Edit Menu/Preferences/Media/Media Cache Database.)?
    3. You say the problem happened out of the blue. Any new software, plug-ins, codecs, and the like installed around the time that the problem set in?
    4. I would like to see you get rid of the Welcome Screen as your point of entry to the program. To that end, right click the Premiere Elements 11 Desktop icon, select Properties, select Open File Location. That will take you to a file named Adobe Premiere Elements 11.exe. Select the file next to it named Adobe Premiere Elements.exe, create a Desktop shortcut to Adobe Premiere Elements.exe, and use that Desktop shortcut thereafter to open Premiere Elements 11.
    5. I would also like to explore other ways of opening the Premiere Elements new project depending on results. One example...can you open a new Premiere Elements project from the Elements Organizer?
    5. If possible, download and install the free 30 day tryout of Premiere Elements 11 Windows from Adobe and determine if that will install for you from the Premiere Elements as well as the Elements Organizer interfaces. Adobe allows only one download of its tryout  product version whether you have used the product 1 or 30 days. So, if you have gone the tryout route, this idea isn't going to work unless Adobe makes an exception. But, I do like this idea for troubleshooting purposes.
MBolton never did follow up to a conclusion on the thread that kglad kindly referenced. There were other avenues to explore. I look forward to the opportunity to assist you in your Premiere Elements troubleshooting here. I am no longer visiting nor answering questions at the web site where MBolton and I sought to find an answer to this issue.
    Thanks.

Many of us have encounted this issue. The problem is not confined to a particular version or computer operating. Many homemade remedies and scientific ones have worked for some and not others. The most recent fix was offered by an ID by the name of Maud Barbara and seems to have been the answer for that user and at least one more.
Maud Barbara's fix can be found at the end of the very long thread on the subject found

    The rough Google Translate went
    Hello
I had the same problem as you and I just d have the solution:
    go to C / program files (86) / common files/OOBE
    Rename OOBE by OLDOOBE
    and your problem is resolved
    You can reinstall the software
What worked for me in this case was none of the above. How I and others navigated this installation problem is documented in the thread cited.
We look forward to your results to see what turned out to work for you.

  • PE 3 Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Premiere Elements to be shut down. We will at

I'm a newby to the Forum
This issue has obviously surfaced before but I cant see a real solution in all Ive read.
Ive been editing and producing home movies with pe3 happily for 3 years no problem
Dual core processor 3 gig ddr ram windows XP SP3 fully updated
Used MSconfig to shut all unnecessary services, 100Gig space on HDD recently defragged
Cant open new or old projects , PE3 goes in a cycle of 3 error messages
    1. Sorry a serious error etc...........
2 It appears Adobe Prem  El closed unexpectedly. Do you want to open...........etc
    3. The projected file that is being opened is a recovery.  We will try ........etc.
PE 3 has been re-installed multiple times, Registry cleaner has been run.  The new update was also installed.
It still keeps happening even thought it worked perfectly for 3 years before.
I'm open to all suggestions, thank you.

You seem like you're pretty meticulous about keeping your system up to date, clean and defragged, which is always my first recommendation when someone says the program used to work but suddenly stopped.
I don't know which programs you're using to maintain your program, but here's what I recommend in my books.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/390602?tstart=30
Also go to Premiere Elements Edit/Preferences/Media Cache and clear the Media Cache.
You don't say if you're also keeping Quicktime up to date, but that too is important.
Strangely, there seem to be a lot of posts recently from people complaining about error messages, so it could be a faulty Windows update.
Meantime, try launching the program while holding down the left side Ctrl, Alt and Shift keys to clear any corrupt preferences. You can also go to C\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\OWNER\APPLICATION DATA\ADOBE and rename the Premiere Elements folder, which will force Premiere Elements to recreate it next time you start the launch the program.
If that doesn't work, you might want to try uninstalling the program and then deleting the C\PROGRAM FILES\ADOBE\PREMIERE ELEMENTS 3.0 folder completely before you reinstall. (And, of course, also install Adobe's 3.02 patch.)
Beyond that, I'm not sure. But, once you're done with all of this, who knows. Microsoft might issue the patch that fixes whatever they did wrong!

  • Error importing old project into Premiere Elements 11

Trying to import old project backup - that I made a couple of years ago.  When importing the Project file, I get the error
"The selected file cannot be linked because it's type (video) does not match the original files type (audio and video)."
I try and select the file, but it then gives the error "The selected file cannot be linked because its type (audio and video) does not match the original file's type (video).
If I skip the ones that give me the error, I get an incomplete edit - with lots of bits missing.
HELP!!!  I need to sort this asap......for a client.
    Thanks

    filippinno
Here is my plan, either a start to better or a dud. We are going to start small to get a foothold in this.
My major puzzlement is you telling me that you are replacing video with video and getting the message
The selected file cannot be linked because its type (audio and video) does not match the original file's type (video)
.The only time I have ever seen that message is when someone is trying to replace still with video or video with still.
At this moment, where are the source media that went into the original Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 project? Let us say, all in Documents in a folder named Special - all have their original names. Given that you are 100% that they are the ones that went into this project...the type (video or still) and file name and file extension.
I am not sure if it matters for this test whether or not you are using Premiere Elements 11 or 9.0/9.0.1, I just want to find out what is going on with your source media.
    (a) Open the project using Skip All if you are hit with a bunch of "Where is....?" messages which I assume you will be.
    (b) Go to the Timeline, pick a file with the colorful Media Offline display, write down the file name from its title band.
Right click that file on the Timeline and select Find in Media.
From Organize Media, delete the Media Offline thumbnail that was pointed out to you clicking Reveal in Media.
Go back to the Timeline and this same file, right click it and this time select Reveal in Project. That should take you to Project. Delete the file there that Reveal in Project points you to. That will also delete is counterpart on the Timeline. All traces of that particular Media Offline file are now gone in the project.
In that project, go to Get Media/Files and Folders and browse to and select the original file (with the exact same file name and kind that you just deleted from the project) that you have saved back in that Special Folder in Documents.
Drag that file from Organize Media or Project to the Timeline in the space made available by your deletion of it as an Media Offline thumbnail.
Does that work to replace that particular file. Is it the file that you had there originally? Keep in mind that we are identifying this file by name in each step and need a match of file name from start to end.
If this works for one, then we can plan around this basic finding. And, if this works we may revert back to Replace Footage. But, let us see what happens here first.
What is your estimate of how many of these Media Offline displays are there to be dealt with? How many of the media are in place on that Timeline and are no problem?
    Looking forward to the results.
    Thanks.

  • Where's MPEG4 export in Premiere Elements 7?

    Hi-
I've purchased Elements 7 after using the evaluation and I thought that after upgrading I'd have an MPEG4 export option.  However, it doesn't seem to show up.  Any ideas on how to access it?  Is it possible that it requires installing the full version, rather than installing the evaluation and adding the serial number?
    Thanks!
    -Mike

I see your point - I guess I should pick my words more carefully. What I meant was the customization of MPEG-4 export is limiting in the sense that Adobe has already decided what the best options are and you can do little to change that except upgrade to Premiere Pro and Media Encoder.
In my case, I was trying to author a 720p file for upload to YouTube but with even when customizing the built-in presets I cannot meet YouTube's 720p spec unless I use the Quicktime wrapper (which in turn, forces me to use the Apple H.264 codec as opposed to the MainConcept H.264 codec). I tried customizing the presets under Mobile Devices but it would not let me use a resolution higher of approximately 640x480.
I do realize that there are built-in YouTube presets for direct uploading but this doesn't meet my needs because my source material is not in 1080 and I would much rather have a "master" file that I can then use to upload to YouTube in a batch, etc. when I need to.
Why am I using Premiere Elements instead of Pro you ask? At my organization we are trying to increase the uptake of web video by teaching communications professionals how to edit and post simple videos online. The quantities of software involved are significant so we really can't justify purchasing Premiere Pro to produce videos that are well within the capability of Premiere Elements (we're talking videos under a minute in duration and primarily of the sound bite variety). That, and we feel the learning curve for Premiere Elements is much easier to get them up and running.

  • Audio error when using Narration in Premiere Elements 9

I am trying to help someone using Premiere Elements 9 (v. 9.0.1, up to date).  The details of the computer are:
Dell N5010 laptop, 64 bit, Win 7 Home Premium SP 1, Intel i5 2.67 Ghz processor, 6 GB RAM.
The user has created a video from both a Sony camcorder and jpgs from a DSLR.  No problems with the video.
The problem is adding narration.  The audio input is from a USB headset/mic.  The Premier Narration window is used:
    Window/Narration/Record Voices.
Every time the narration gets to approximately 6 minutes, an error occurs:
    \src\audiorender\audioprefetch.cpp-87 or
    \src\win\asiohost.cpp-903
A search of this forum and a Google search has not identified anything that I can identify as relevant.
    Can anyone help?

    twriterext
It looks like Hunt answered the same type of question a while back but the user never followed up re: \src\win\asiohost.cpp-903
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/3308679
I worked with another user elsewhere with the same error message, and that turned out to be related to updating the audio card driver.
It is important to check out Edit Menu/Preferences/Audio Hardware ASIO settings and what is displayed for both Input and Output settings.
But, what I would really like to see is the screenshot of that Timeline when the error hits at your narration @ around 6 minutes, especially whats on any video tracks, audio tracks, and Soundtrack. Is the stop at about 30 seconds after the last clip on the tracks?
Looking forward to your follow up.
    Thanks.

  • How can I fix error message 150:30 in Premiere Elements?

Running Premiere Elements opens the message 'Licence for this product has stopped working' and Error 150:30. I have restarted my pc but it still appears.

    anthony944
What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
Without that information, I will assume Premiere Elements 11, 12, or 13 on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit to give you some ideas of where I am going on this.
You could try going to FLEXnet Licensing in Computer/Manage/Services and Applications/Services and make sure that FLEXnet Licensing in the list is started.
If found stopped, please start it.
There is a Licensing Repair Tool.
Adobe - Adobe Licensing Repair Tool
But what I will work for you will be
    a. uninstall the program the usual Control Panel way
    d. do a ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts)
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
    c. reinstall of the program with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
Please review and consider and then we can decide what next. If any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

  • Exporting from premiere elements 4 to premiere elements 10

I am converting over from premiere elements 4 to premiere elements 10. I Have titles that were created in 4 that I would like to use in elements 10. Is there an easy way to export from one to the other?

    Welcome to the forum.
You will want to Export as a Template, into the folder of your choice. That will yield a .PRTL file, that can then be opened in PrE 10. Unfortunately, I know of no way to automate, or batch that, so you will want to launch PrE 4, and then the Project(s), Select the particular Title, and choose Export>Template (or similar syntax).
I have my personal Title Templates located in a "Hunt Titles" folder. It is then available to PrE and PrPro.
    Good luck,
