I installed oracle 10g application server. its installed fine. But now i am facing a problem in which i am getting the following error message when i try to start opmnctl from command prompt:

stop the process using opmnctl stopall
stop the database
stop the listener
stop emctl processes
usind oidctl to stop OID instance
start the listener
start the database
start the process opmnctl startall
start emctl start iasconsole
used oidctl to star instance for OID

Management agent upgraded to 10.2.0.4 - getting error Failed to start LSNR

Hi all,
I have just upgraded the management agent upgradation to 10.2.0.4. I am getting this error error 'Failed to start HTTP listener.'
I had killed the agent process at the o/s level and restarted it but again after a while it shuts down automatically.
Also my emctl status agent still shows the agent version as 10.2.0.2 ??? Please let me know what to do in this scenario.

CUPC Error - Failed to start conversation Start conversation capability is not available

We are running CUCM 7.1.5.32900-2 and Presence 8.5.2.10000-49.
When some of the users highlight numbers and call them using click to call (The click to call that comes as a part of CUPC), they are getting the following error box...

Our users typically have 7941 phones that are associated with their user. They are not using softphone.

Problem After a secure profile is enabled for a user, the user cannot place or receive calls. The user might see the following error message multiple times:
Failed to start conversation
The user can use the instant messaging features.
This problem occurs if a secure profile is enabled for the user in Cisco Unified Communications Manager while either of the following is true:
•The user is signed in to Cisco Unified Personal Communicator.
•The cucsf.exe process is running on the computer of the user, that is, Cisco Unified Personal Communicator is running, but the user has not signed in.
Ask the user to sign out of Cisco Unified Personal Communicator, then sign in again.

Hi,
If you are using linux/windows the hostname credentials should be the user who has installed the oracle 10g database software, if Windosw the user you are using need to be member of the ora_dba group and have Local Security privilege 'Log on as a batch job'.
What you need to do is go to start----> Programs----> admin tools----> Local security policy --->local policies ---> user rights assignments
In the list to your right, look for 'Log on as a batch job', double click and add the same OS local user you using to access OEM web to the group.
I hope this will solve your problem.

i was trying to install sun DS 6.3 in my system,everything is going good but while creating directory instance i get errors saying Unxpected error

before that i start up dsccsetup/initialize
it asks for directory manager password:nnnn
reenter directory manager password:nnnn
after that i get the above errors
at the end it says
"Software installation is corrupted or incomplete"

and i installed tomcat 5.0.28,and jva,jre 1,6 ,and i get the when i setup installation it goes fine when i ask for dsccsetup initialize it asks for the token
A PIN IS REQUIRED TO ACCESS, i tried the same in other system with tomcat 5.5 with same OS XP it goes fine with no errors,i'm not sure that it may be caused by tomcat version,but still will be happy for your suggestion,

Failed to start ns-slapd process on Windows

I install Sun Directory Server 6.0 on Windows:
1. Installation
dsee_deploy install -c DS -i D:\DirectoryServer
2. Create Instance
D:\DirectoryServer\ds6\bin\dsadm create D:\DirectoryServer\ds
3. Start instance
D:\DirectoryServer\ds6\bin\dsadm start D:\DirectoryServer\ds
And get folloving error:
Server not running ! Failed to start ns-slapd process
Server's log is empty.
What I can do to solve this problem ?
I see topic with this problem on UNiX platform, and
how about Windows 2003? I make installation as Administrator.

Then I start DirectoryServer:

I used to work with NetBeans but now i am testing JSCreator.
- I'm using Linux Ubuntu 7.04
- JSCreator 2 Update 1
- I 've tryied to run as root and as my user.
- I am trying VehicleIncidentReport example with JSCreator
- With netstat -a | grep 25848 , i can see that are no process running in that port!

Workflow error Failed on Start (retrying)

When I run my custom workflow, it gives error Failed on Start (retrying) each time. It was working properly, but now it gives the mentioned error. Even I have created two more very simple custom workflow on testing list, they even did not work and gave the same error. How to rectify this error.

I have created a blog site. There is a SPD workflow attached to the Post list and Comments list with a few number of activities like Build Dynamic String, Send Email etc. Both the lists (Post & Comments) have content approval set. Point is whenever I
am creating a new post or new comments, the workflow column is showing "Failed on Start (retrying)". Then after a few moments it's getting completed, activities are working and sometimes getting stopped.

I don't know what is the issue. But still it's not getting resolved.
I have already tried the below tricks following various forums and blogs.
Checked removing the Send Email & Build Dynamic String activity.
Checked the app pool account (IIS) and service account (Central Admin) and changed them both to NETWORKSERVICE account.
Checked and compared all the entries in web.config and GAC
Tried repairing the perfCounters

Start date should be after the dd.mm.yyyy or later error message.

We have recently applied HR support packs 46 to 51 and now when updating Personal Data (IT0002), Bank Details (IT0009) or Addresses (IT0006), the following error message is displayed 'Start date should be after the 07.02.2010 or later'. Where the screens allow for a future date to be entered we have done so, but the same error message appears.
Has anyone encountered this problem after apply support packs?

Database is not available withintimeout of 240 seconds.this could be reason of incorrect network configuration or lack of resources on the appliance or VM, please fix the issue and run the folloing CLI to re-prime database

Yes, they are not talking to DNS Server as they are installed in LAB, LAB network does not communicate with Production.
If I configure everything in Lab i.e. Hostname, IP address, Domain Name, Name server, NTP server and then put them in to production whether it will work? Or tell me the best way to configure them!

Hi,
I am new to this Studio Creator 2 so that I decided to follow "Sun Java Studio Creator 2 - Tutorials - Using the Debugger".
I followed the instructions word by word and have no problem running it.
But Whenever I run it under the 'debugging' mode, I got an error ( at step 2. Examining local variables in the tutorial) as follows.
It directs me to look at the server log file for more and I clicked on the link on the same pane (Output window in the bottom of IDE) but it doesn't mean much to me -- partly due to me being a newbie???
Here is a bunch of error messages being generated under the debug mode[F5]. Did anyone have a similar problem before?

Check the following :
Try starting the server without deploying. The server can be started from the server window. Also, check the server log file , will give more info on why it failed.
To view the Sun Java System Application Server log file:
In the Servers window, right-click the Deployment Server node and choose View Server Log.
In any text editor, open the log file in the following location: install-directory\SunAppServer8\domains\creator\logs\server.log

Also, the port used by default is localhost:24848 when I tried the tutorial ..

How to stop the boot process after the GRUB menu?

Hello there.
I am getting an error message in the boot process, after the GRUB menu, but I can't read completely the message because it is shown too fast. So, how can I stop the process when I see the error message, for writing down it?

I didn't try this before, but if you use systemd, you may want to try systemd.confirm_spawn to invoke interactive booting process, so you can start the services one by one manually therefore locate the one throwing out error message.
