Hello,
I have a problem with BO XI3 Desktop Intelligence and Designer.
I can't log in, I have the following error :
[repo_proxy 13] SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with user info has failed(Transport error: Communication failure.(FWM 00001)
(hr=#0x80042a01)
Connection with J2EE Portal works
How can I fix it ?
Firewall is disabled.

Hello Guys !
I have a big problem on my laptop.
We're currently migrating from Xi R2 to Xi 3.1 SP3 FP3.2
I'm testing BO client tools deployment (with or without parameters, silent or verbose)
So i need to nstall/uninstall/reinstal/reinstall etc..
But now, after a lot of reinstall I can't launch DeskI anymore.
Each time i try to open it, busobj.exe appear in the task list, and disappear 5 seconds later.
I have the same issue with Designer.
I've checked :
- BO logging --> no log.
- Windows Event Viewer --> nothing
I've uninstall all, clean registry, reinstall --> nothing
Import Wizard work perfectly
Any help would be very appreciate.

Error to connect oracle 10g client and designer BO 4.0

hello,
I try to connect oracle 10g client and designer BO 4.0.
I created an ODBC connection to function in the administration tools of data sources but I can not connect once in designer.
I tried using the driver directly oracle designer 10 but I have the same error that is this:
DBD: ORA-12154: TNS: connection identifier specified could not be resolved
someone there had the same concerns?

Hi,
so it looks like that your TNSNAMES.ORA file isn`t properly configured. Thats why you can connect with the IDT to your Oracle Database.
Your DBA`s should sent you the correct TNSNAMES.ORA file or the entry for your DB prior. After the tnsping works, you will be able to use the IDT properly.

Getting an error trying to extract CS6 Web and Design Premium after downloading

Hi, I purchased the CS6 Web and Design Premium back in 2013 and I have installed it on my laptop successfully. I got a new Windows desktop PC this year and I'm trying to install this on here without any success. I have downloaded the two files from the "Download CS6 Products" page on Adobe's website, but when I try to open the .exe file, I come up with an error saying "A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and write privileges on the destination folder." I have no idea what this means or what I'm doing wrong? I would appreciate any help since I've been trying to get this working for about an hour with no progress at all.

make sure you downloaded both files completely and that they match.
if you're not sure how to do that or you think you have done that, what files (name and extension) and what file sizes did you download?

Thank you Bturko in the future only migrate/copy/transfer your documents and settings. Adobe applications especially are not designed to be transferred from one computer to another. It is possible to recover however. I would recommend the following steps:
Run the uninstaller located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers
Run the CC Cleaner Tool to ensure complete removal - Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.
If you need to download a fresh copy of the installation files they can be downloaded at Download CS3 products.
Run the installer and reinstall Creative Suite 3.

Error : WIS 00001 - Some objects are no longer available in the universe.

Hi ,
I have performed some manual actions in OLAP universe i.e move and rename of objects. Object works fine when i drop them in "Result Objects" pane.If the same object i drop in "Query filters" and if i select filter option -'value(s) from list' i get the below error:
Error - "Some objects are no longer available in the universe. See your Business objects administrator. (WIS-00001)".
Is it something to do with manual action performed in universe? Please help me ....

Hi,
For the objects which you are getting error, do the following in designer
1.select the objects -> go to properties ->check for LOV options i.e if it is disabled then you want get those values so click on edit -> it goes to lov query panel -> run the query and check the lov's for the object-> check export with unv-> save the object n unv & Export the unv->then try it in your report creation.

Get FWM 00001 when SessionMgr do Logon()

I was trying to open the report in CRS using OpenDocument when press the submit button.
Unfortunately, an error was return [Transport error: Communication failure.(FWM 00001)] while the SessionMgr try to do Logon().
I have already checked the network & firewall. There shouldn't be any blocking...
What goes wrong !!!??? Please Help !!!

Regarding Web Analysis:
We have a number of reports that we created. yesterday they were all working fine. today we try to open them and most are generating an error.
The error is:

Error while opening site studio designer

Hi,
We are getting error while opening the site studio Desiner in Server. It gives unexpected error with three options, view log, close and continue, then program just get closed.
Yesterday we have upgraded site studio component and designer -
Site studio designer from 10gR3(10.1.3.3.2) to 10gR3(10.1.3.5.0)
Site studio component from 7.7.2.405 to 8.0.0.645
This issue is not coming for the user who have installed the site studio component and designer but rest all user are facing the problem while opening site studio designer in the server.
Below mentioned is the scanrio -
A) All the users(UserA,UserB,UserC) have the admin access to the server.This installation has been done by UserA. UserA only able to open the SS-D and remaining all are getting error
B) The issue is on the same machine on which site studio designer is installed.
C) Multiple users are using same SS-Designer
D) Error occured as soon as the userB,UserC went to select site studio designer from start menu on the same server and getting the same error.
E) UserB who is also having admin access has tried this option of un install and re-install SS-D,but he is also not able to open the SS-D. Still only UserA is able to access the SS-D.
Any kind of resolution much appriciated.

I have tried to install SS-D with userB and userC but then too both of them getting the same error, but userA is able to open SS-D.

I have a stored proc which runs every night. The stored proc is giving a unique constraint violation.

We are in the process of upgrading BOXI R2 to R3.1 SP3. Setup, configuration of BOXI R3 on new machine is done. And migrated the reports, universes, users, groups and all repository objects with Import Wizard. everything seems good except few Webi reports pointing to wrong universes and getting the below error message.
"Some objects are no longer available in the universe. See your Business Objects administrator. (Error: WIS 00001)"
1) I deleted the particular report from destination and re imported it but still same issue.
2) deleted the file from Input file store and re imported it still same error I'm getting.

if the issues is with one or two reports i would've tried manually editing each report, but here we've this issue with 20+ reports so far..
Just pointing it to right universe won't work, I've to add the missing objects as well. So Its like developing new report.

Can Power Users or Mgt Create and Design Reports Through Query Designer ?

Dear BI consultants,
Iam new to BI.
My management has requested me to Train Power users from All Modules(FICO,HR,QM,PP,SD,MM) to Create Queries and Design Through Query Designer.
My question is are we suppose to Give query Designer Access to Power users or Mgt so that they can create Queries and reports by themselves.Please Suggest me wht is the Best Practices.
is it feasable to train power users and Mgt as to how 2 create queries. will there be any side effect on the System or our end.
Plz suggest.
wht are the advantages and disadvantages of this.
If I train the Power users then is there any risk of my Job.
since they will be creating all reports by themselves.
wht else can a BI consultant do since iam in a support project.
how do i convince my Mgt?

This is common procedure maintained in most of the company's for end users.
There is no issue if you train the power users.you will be the first point of contact if they have any doubts.and more over you are supporting for your client right? this can't be handed over to power user or end user. data is imp for the client so there will not be any problem for you, if any issue comes while loading you need to take care of the errors and fix the.
power users or end user will be familiar with Business requirement not with the Query building logic's not with the BW procedure so no worries for you.
as vineeth said its better to keep control regarding the global and key things at your end so that you will not loose contol on the reports.

The motherboard on my original computer got fried but I could install the hard drive in another computer. How do I reauthorize my cs6 web and design on the new computer as I am not able to deactivate from original computer ?

Hi,
Are you getting an ST22 dump in the backend, we used to get this kind of error in case of hierarchies, please check 2 things
1. Agg level is active
2. Check the query (option is available on query designer)
