Error getting you tube to work on my TV

I have media manager turned on, the tv finds my computer, but when I try to play a you tube video I get a red hand and an error message.
Please help

I had to add VerizonMediaManager.exe and VZVideoAgent.exe to the firewall exception list in all my firewalls (meaning windows firewall and my kaspersky) and then on their website, they make a note that ESET and AVG both identify the media manager as a threat and those programs terminate the connection. so if any of that sounds familiar that may be the problem.
Also when it doesn't work, try to play the sample video, and if the sample video works then the other stuff should be working too, if the sample video does not work then it's probably the firewall thing that I mentioned above.

You tube only working in 32 mode

Just tried to watch an instructional video on You-Tube and got only a black screen with no play button. After checking all the help files and forums there, I discovered it worked with 32-bit mode. When I switch back to 64-bit, the problem returns.
Have others discovered the same thing? Is there an alternative solution? I need 64-bit for a couple of plug-ins.

I know it works - it was you said the reason is it isn't supported - but it is.
The plugin seemingly still works in 64 bit safari, just not on those main youtube pages that use javascript to write the object/embed code; it also reportedly works even in 64 bit if you alter the user agent... so it seems likely to be a youtube error in browser detection leading to no object/embed being written - which would cause exactly the black non-functioning area that many have described, just as disabling javascript does...
Right or ctrl-click where the flash video should be - what does it show?
if there's an 'inspect element' there - they haven't written the Flash object/embed code to the page.

After that length of time, I'd be tempted to think it's not going to complete the update process. You can unplug it and plug it back in, to see what state it is it. It may well have become corrupt and you may have to restore the device.
If this happens, get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.

Get you tube to play videos in 1080p HD by default

Does anyone know how to set a you tube default so all videos playback in full 1080p HD. It's so frustrating and a little ridiculous if it's based on internet connection so you tube chooses etc; as it chooses my videos to play back in 480p, but if i manually change to 1080p it plays back fine in better quality without any lagging or buffer stops - so i just don't get it. What's the point in uploading anything in HD? Please help.

after updating my iphone 4s 5.1.1, my you tube is not working and says cannot connect to you tube. I already tried signing out of the itunes and singing back in. I really need help i miss my you tube.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Has any of this been tried?

How do I get You Tube to play

Had Adobe Flash Player installed, asked to update but refused due to their auto installation of Google Chrome.
Since that time You Tube will not play.

You can update from already installed Adobe Flash Player.
System Preferences > Other /Flash Player > Advanced > Updates
Press "Check Now" button.
When I updated Flash Player, Chrome was not installed along with it.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

The YouTube app is not included in iOS 6. You will either need to try one of the YouTube apps from the store (there is an iPhone optimised app from google, and other people have said that they are working on an iPad version), or try accessing the mobile version via Safari : http://m.youtube.com (you can create a home screen shortcut for the site)
