Error icon?

Having trouble with iPhoto. Have just uploaded photos directly from the camera onto iPhoto. Everytime I try to open a photo it just dispays the exclamation mark in a triangle icon?? Anyone know why this and how to fix it?

Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.
What version of iPhoto? What version of the OS?

  • Error Icon Propagation

    When I have an error in my Actionscript, I get a nice red X
    next to the the line where the error occurred. Unfortunately,
    unlike in an Eclipse Java project, the file tab does not show an
    error icon, nor does the navigator. Can someone suggest how to
    enable this functionality?
    thanks
    PS. perhaps I am expecting more from flex in Eclipse, but as
    an Eclipse user for Java Programming, are many of the nice features
    not going to be present?

  • Error icon in book - what's this?

    Hi
    On some images in my book I get a small yellow error icon (yellow triangle with an exlamation mark in it).
    There is no hover information or anything else and I can't find any information about this online. Can anyone tell me what this is about and if I will have any printing issues with the given images?
    Thanks
    -Florian

    I believe it is indicating that the amount of zooming an cropping has stretched the image past it's native resolution and more importantly, past the point of quality printing and you may see aliasing in the printed images. I have not ordered a book yet, so cannot comment, but have one with specific images that I forced to have the warning icon to appear, just to see how bad it is.
    Try reducing the amount that you zoomed the image until the icon disappears.

  • Error when installing OpsMgr reporting (Attempted to add warning icon to item OMREPORTING but since this was as NONVITALFAILURE case, we added an Error icon instead.)

    Hi
    I have the following scenario:
    Two Management Server, the first
    Management Server has the following functions:
    - Management Server
    - Operations Console
    - Web Console
    My second Management Server has the following
    functions:
    - Management Server
    - Operations Console
    A SQL Server with the
    OperationsManager and OperationsManagerDW
    bases.
    My second Management Server, I installed the
    service report server SQL,
    created the foundation in my remote SQL
    Server (ReportServerOpsMgr and
    ReportServerOpsMgrTempDB). By adding the
    feature of Reporting Server
    it starts the installation process, but
    at a certain point it gives me the following error message
    in the Reporting Server log: Attempted
    to add warning icon to
    OMREPORTING item but since
    this was the NONVITALFAILURE
    case, we added an Error
    icon instead.
    Has anyone been through
    this problem and can help me?
    Thanks a lot!
    Wilsterman Fernandes

    Seems this is either a permissions issue or the it is a restriction configured for running external stored procedures
    I suggest you remove the Reporting portion from the server, then remove the Reporting Service completely. After doing this, reboot the SQL and Management server=>install Reporting again.

  • I get an error icon ever since i upgraded to Yosemite

    After I upgraded my macbook pro to Yosemite, my Mac started to get cranky and slow. It takes 10-20 seconds to just do the key I press (ie. brightness) So I thought of shutting it down first, because maybe it just needs some rest after the update. So when I shut it down, my screen just went black, but there was still a mouse cursor and my keyboard still has light. I waited for a while but nothing happened. So I just pressed and held the on/off button until it went completely off. After a few minutes, I turned it on. I get the apple icon at first and a line that seems to be like a loading bar (result of the upgrade) then it just turns into what seems like an error icon. I don't know what happened. Anybody that can help me understand this situation and tell me what I can to fix this? Please. Thank you in advance.

    Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
    In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".
    When you get through to the final screen:
    ... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here.

  • Error icon shown after restarting

    I have upgraded my Mac Mini from Mavericks to Yosemite, the installation ran fine and the system started up into Yosemite without issues. However after restarting my machine, a white screen with an Apple logo appears with a progress bar below it, the progress bar will go up to about 35% and then show an error icon.
    How can I fix this? Unfortunately I did not make a backup of the OS nor do I use Time Machine.
    What are my options? Is there a way I can read through the logs to see what is failing to possibly try and fix it?

    Try actually opening message and clicking reply icon to respond rather than right clicking on message preview.  I have had same bug (which Apple should fix all the same), but have found that if you open the message as its own discreet window, then the "replied to" icon will appear.  Hope this is helpful

    I've tried resetting my iPod and after the Apple Logo disappears I get the above every time . . . WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY iPOD??

  • Error icon change

    Hi, how do I change the attribute error icon to another gif?
    Or even better, is there a hook to not display this attribute error icon at all and yet continue to show the attribute error message below the attribute input field.
    Thanks,
    Mel

    Use skinning to modify the error-icon.
    Add the following the custom CSS file:
    af|message::error-icon {
    content: url("/images/Error.png");
    width: 16px;
    height: 16px;
    af|messages::error-icon {
    content: url("/images/Error.png");
    width: 16px;
    height: 16px;

  • How to get an error icon with tool tip in a displaying table   in a particu

    How to get an error icon with tool tip in a displaying table   in a particular field..
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    In the context  create an attribute of type string .
    Create the attribute in the node which you bind for table.
    In the layout .
    1.create a Table UI element.
    2 create binding for UI element.
    3Right click on the Table UI and select insert table column.
    4.once the table column is inserted right click on table column and select insert cell editor.
    5.create the cell editor of the type image.
    6.Bind the source property of the image to the attribute in the node which you have created.
    so depending on what image(type of icon) needs to be displayed set the attibute accordingly.

  • ERROR ICON IN TIMELINE

    I get the following error in the timeline:
    I am not sure what the combination of wifi icon and exclamation mark mean.
    I cannot copy into or from any of these projects.
    I have an mid 2011 iMac running Lion with 4GB RAM. Storage is attached USB drives.

    I have not been able to find this alert icon in the FCPX manual:
    The alert icon consists of a wifi symbol, similar to the one apple uses in the top right hand corner of finder. However, it is angled to the right. On the right hand side of the wifi symbol  there is a triangle with which contains an exclamation mark. This alert icon is just to the left of the timeline filmstrip.
    All my drives are connected by USB. I am not using any storage connected by wifi.
    The projects that have the alert icon can be duplicated but I cannot copy in or out of the project.

  • G5 Refuses to Boot, Shows Error Icon

    I was recently copying a whole bunch of files from my MacBookPro (via Airport) to my G5 (via Ethernet) when I noticed that it wasn't copying anymore. It was just locked up with a message saying "Copying 1.65GB out of 3.23GB". So I tried to cancel the copy. No luck. I tried to restart. Nope. After some time, I decided to do a hard reboot by holding down the power button until the machine shut down. Then I tried to reboot.
    When I try to reboot, I get the gray Apple icon the way I normally would. But then that icon turns into a circle-crossed-out (like the "do not enter" symbol). And it won't boot.
    I tried booting from my Disk Warrior CD, putting in the disc and holding down the C key when trying to reboot. No difference.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Paul,
    It seems to be a hard drive failure. How old is it, is it under warranty? This is common. A SATA hard drive will usually last about 3 years.
    Here's an excerpt from an interesting article: "On a hard disk system, the click of death refers to a similar phenomenon, generally a read/write error during a seek. The hard disk has a hard error (hardware failure that cannot be undone by rebooting) or servomechanism failure, the head actuator will buzz and click as the drive tries to recalibrate. In most cases, the defect is due to physical abuse or a manufacturing error. The cause of the read/write errors is often due to the failure of the read/write heads' preamplifier, a small chip usually found soldered to the flexible cable on the actuator of modern hard drives." Ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clickofdeath
    Does your drive show these symptoms?
    Best Regards

  • Unknown Start-Up Error Icon

    Dear Forum,
    My previously very reliable 2007 Intel iMac is probably coming to the end of its life. It has started hanging/freezing-up when doing mundane tasks and, probably more indicative is when I reboot the iMac it provides a white screen with a grey folder icon with a question mark in the centre of the grey folder (see attached). It also starts up with a louder than normal chime. I am left with no option but to hard re-boot, which generally works. Maybe a few hours later the computer hangs again.
    Anyone know what the grey folder icon is indicating?
    Thanks
    KevBate

    The folder with a question mark in it indicates the system cannot find the startup volume. Based on your description I think the HD has crashed and needs to be replaced. If you have the original install discs then run Apple's Hardware Test in extended mode at least 2-3 times back to back. If it reports error codes take the machine to your local Apple Store or AASP with the error code(s) and ask them what that means and how much it would cost to repair.
    Good luck.

  • Error icon when trying to boot up

    I was working on my black macbook when suddenly everything froze up, I gave it time to load but I eventually just restarted. Since then my computer starts with a grey screen then shows a file icon with a question mark in the center, it doesn't boot up and eventually just shuts off after flashing this icon for a few minutes. What's happening and what can I do?

    Then the best thing to do is call up Apple and request a box be mailed to you. They'll send the box free of charge & do any repairs that are necessary. Alternatively, you can have your installation discs sent to you from your home to do some more troubleshooting.
    Unfortunately, if you send the machine in for repair, they won't save any data off the hard drive.

  • Crash? Error Icon?

    My powerbook has recently been running slow, not shutting down properly, etc. Then today- it wouldn't boot up. It gets to the gray screen with the spinning wheel and wont go past it. So I turned it off and this time when booting it up it went to a blue screen with a flashing "finder" folder icon intermittent with a "?" in it.
    What does this mean? How do i fix this? and did I just lose everything?
    Any help appreciated! Thanks so much.

    First guess is disk directory corruption. Use your install DVD to boot from (power on, hold down 'C' key and shove the disc in) and when the installer comes up, find the Utilities menu and launch Disk Utility. Repair the boot volume, if it shows up. That should do the trick. If Disk Utility can't fix the directory, then you should try Alsoft Disk Warrior, again booting into the DVD and running the utility.
    Of course, if you can't boot from the Install disk or Disk Warrior, you can assume you have serious problems, probably with the drive, since you get as far as the Folder/Question Mark icon.
