Error Importing ECT Odata BDC Model to Sharepoint Online BCS

Hi,
When I try to import the BDC model (of Odata Service with anonymous authentication) to sharepoint 2013 online, got the
error "Application definition
import failed. The following error occurred: Unable to connect to the remote server Error was encountered at or just before Line: '63'
If I import the same BDC model to a Sharepoint 2013 on premise it works!.
Any idea about how to fix it?

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you encountered with an error when importing BDC to SharePoint Online.
Before you begin this procedure, make sure you have the following:
    • The .bdcm file that you extracted in
Extract an external content type to a BDCM file for the Business Connectivity Services hybrid Scenario.
    • An account with administrative rights to your SharePoint Online tenancy and administrative rights to the BDC Metadata Store.
In addition, please make sure you import BDC to SharePoint Online correctly.

I am facing error while importing the BDC models to SharePoint from SAP Duet environment. Please find the attached screen shot and text document for reference.
Below are the tasks performed before importing the BDC models.
1) SSL & STS certificated created in the SharePoint environment.

Is it possible to change the title of a webpart using client object model/c#/sharepoint online

Hi folks!
I have been busted my butt trying to Write a program changing the title of an existing webpart on on of our subsites on SharePoint online. But I keep getting an error in the very last context.executequery. Tried a bunch of different approaches, but I can't
make it work. Before I start posting code; I Wonder if anyone have ever done this?
Its a plain Windows form application, using Visual studio Express and the Client Object model. (Listsing the titles of the webparts Works but changing titles seem impossible. Thought it might be a checkin/out problem but it doesn't make a difference).
Any help would be highle appreciated.

It depends: are you using the default style for Text Captions? In that case you can change the default style in the Object Style Manager and have it applied to all Captions.
Or you can change one text caption, and in its Properties panel choose the option 'Save Changes to existing style' from the menu top right (see screenshot). Both methods will work if you didn't override the default Caption Style for those captions. Beware: Quizzing objects can use another style.

Error in uploading BDC Models (Server name missing from URL in Property wcfmexURL)

We are using multiple Dialogue Instances in DUET Enterprise.
Problem: Before we did the Reverse Proxy Configuration for App Servers, Our BDC Models got imported in SharePoint Successfully (Correct WSS Setup and STS Urls) but After doing the Reverse Proxy Configurations, when we regenerated the BDC Models, apparently Server Name is missing from URL of the Propoerty "wcfmexurl".
Below is the Error Text:

This Error is gone after implementing the Note. Now the generated BDC Models have the correct URL for wcfmexURL property.
now we have the Following Error:

For this Error, our SharePoint Administrator is checking below Steps.
1.    1) Open “wcfmexDocumentUrl” URL in the browser and copy all SSL certificates (including Root Certificates) to a file. Then import these certificates in the Trust Relationships section. Then try the import of the BDC Models

2) 2) Verifying Your server uses a virtual hostname and all the configuration (e.g. SSL certificate) is done for this virtual hostname. Also the URLs that are created and used in the BDC model are Same virtual hostnames, but not the ones from the physical server.
3. 3)Re-verify SAML Authentication type and transport security at SAP.
4) 4) Browse WSDL at SharePoint Server and verify “WSP:Policy” and in WSDL make sure that it contains an entry:

Please download DirSync from office 365 admin center
it will sync all users from AD to office 365 then you need to assign licence.

Hi,
It seems that an account are you using to deploy solution doesn't have sufficient permission in the BDC Metadata Store. In order to assign permission you should open Central Administration->Application Management->Manage Service Application->Business
Data Connectivity Service->Click Set Metada Store Permission on the ribbon->Set Permission you need and tick the checkbox "Propagate permission to all..."

Error while importing Adaptive Web Service Model in WDJ

Excel, PowerView error in SharePoint 2013: "An error occurred while loading the model for the item or data source 'EntityDataSource'. Verify that the connection information is correct and that you have permissions to access the data source."

I've installed SQL Server 2012 SP1 + SP server 2012 + SSRS and PowerPivot add-in.
I also configured excel services correctly. Everything works fine but the powerview doesn't work!
While I open an excel workbook consist of a PowerView report an error occurs: "An error occurred while loading the model for the item or data source 'EntityDataSource'. Verify that the connection information is correct and that you have permissions

Based on the current error message, the error can be related to the
Claims to Windows Token Service (C2WTS) and is an expected error under certain conditions. To verify the issue, please check the aspects below:
     1. The C2WTS Windows service and C2WTS SharePoint service are both running.
     2. Check the SQL Server Browser service is running on the machine that has the PowerPivot instance of SSAS.
     3. Check the domain. You're signing into SharePoint with a user account in some domain (call it Domain A). When Domain A is equal to Domain B which SharePoint server itself is located (they're the same domain), or Domain
A trusts Domain B.
In addition, the error may be caused by Kerberos authentication issue due to missing SPN. In order to make the Kerberos authentication work, you need to configure the Analysis Services to run under a domain account, and register the SPNs for the Analysis
Services server.
To create the SPN for the Analysis Services server that is running under a domain account, run the following commands at a command prompt:
• Setspn.exe -S MSOLAPSvc.3/Fully_Qualified_domainName OLAP_Service_Startup_Account
Note: Fully_Qualified_domainName is a placeholder for the FQDN.
• Setspn.exe -S MSOLAPSvc.3/serverHostName OLAP_Service_Startup_Account

Error while importing a Adaptive RFC Model

I am trying to import an Adaptive RFC Model. Before importing I need to speciy the connection parameters in the import wizard. I am using the single server method to connect and have specified all the parameters correctly. Login failed error while importing an adaptive RFC model

Hi there,
I am trying to import a adaptive RFC model for a BAPI from a 46D system, to which I have connected using VPN from my WAS J2EE server. I have given the login details as Single server(Not load balancing), and given the user login details. However, I am not able to proceed further because it gives me the error 'Name or password is incorrect, please re-enter'. This is strange because I am giving the correct name and password, and I am able to login to this system through SAP GUI using same logon credentials.
I am confused as to what it is expecting to move forward. I have tried changing case of the user name, restarting my WAS etc. The client is correct, and the login language is EN.
Could anybody have any clues or have you faced a similar problem?

I have had the same problem.
I think whoever programmed the logon routine at that point should be fired immediately and banned from programming for life! Logging on is a very basic and well-understood task, and programmed gozillions of times since 1940s. Common sense and unwritten rules of programming dictate simply if you make something case-sensitive, then you should accept an input in its original form (i.e. password in smalls, or whatever) but not change it to uppercase and then work case-sensitively. Either this, or you program everything case-insensitively.

I Think that is a simple error, but I don’t have enough knowledge in .NET apps.
I make an console app that use Remote Authentication in SharePoint Online Using the Client Object Model, that a I downloaded from MSDN.
This App run ok.
But when I like to make a Windows From App. This component send me an error in Application.Run(DisplayLoginForm)
This err msg :
An unhandled exception of type 'System.InvalidOperationException' occurred in System.Windows.Forms.dll
Additional information: Starting a second message loop on a single thread is not a valid operation. Use Form.ShowDialog instead.
Is there any way to use a form inside a windows form?

1. Check your code logic below:

Error when Hana cube are imported in SAP Hana models management

I trying to import 2 or more cubes in the module SAP Hana models management and i cannot do it, the message error says that a model exists with the same name but the name of my model is different. I checked my Info.xml and the tag of name is different. How can i import more than one model in this module?

Error on sharepoint online while importing wsp solution into it?

Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.SharePointIntegration.wsp this file i got it SCOM Server but how do i deploy this solution to sharepoint online when try to activate this solution i have got the following error.

Hi,
there is some restriction concerning WSP deployment on SharePoint Online: you can not deploy 'farm' solutions, but only 'user' solutions, also known as 'sandboxed solutions'.
A sandbox solution has a restricted access to the SharePoint Platform.
I don't know much about SCOM, but I think you'd better check if this WSP can actually be deployed on SharePoint Online (but I don't think it can, because it seems to be a farm solution). Perhaps there is another version of it ?

How to consume the sharepoint online Library data to Excel sheet using ODATA connection. That ODATA connection file resides in "SharePoint Online -Data Connections Library"

I have created a OData Connection to my Library and published to SharePoint online site.
To refresh the data, property is set like "Refresh when opening file"
When I downloaded and open the file, the new data is consumed to me successfully because this ODF file referenced to my local computer
If any other user downloads the file its not opening as reference file points to my local machine.
I want to keep this ODF file in "Data connections" Library (or in any site/Library) and establish the connection to the excel sheet. so that any one can use the ODF file.
or else any other alternative to use ODF file globally and get the SP Library data to excel ?

Hi,
it will use the connection in the ADF library. I recommend though that you not save database connect information in the ADF library. Instead:
- define the ADF BC model to use JDBC data sources
- In the ADF library, configure it to only contain the data source name
- In the view project (the workspace) configure the database connection exposed by the library
When the library is imported, check Application Resources --> Connections and right click on the imported connection name to configure it

Hi all,
Now we are able to pass all the required input data to the update operation
and no errors exist for this operation. But when we execute the update operation, the PO is not getting updated at SAP. But same operation
is working fine from DUET-ABAP. As a test, we executed this operation from DUET ABAP front and generated the log (/iwfnd/view_log) log
has been generated. The same operation when we executed from Sharepoint and when we looked into 14-hive logs, nothing has got generated
for update operation.
Note: when executed this update operation from SharePoint, in /iwfnd/view_log, no logs generated for updated operation.
Please suggest me a way so that I can sort out this issue.
