Error in 0MATERIAL

Hi All,
When I am trying load Master data for 0MATERIAL for I am getting below error message.
Maintained RSKC (Invalid Characteristics) and OMSL (Material Length) Settings in BI.
Diagnosis
    Data record 33 & with the key '103-001-00003 &' is invalid in value '103-001-00003 &' of the attribute/characteristic 0MATERIAL &.
System Response
    The system has recognized that the value mentioned above is invalid, and has processed this general error message. A subsequent message may give you more information on the error. This message refers to the same value, even though it does not state this explicitly.
Procedure
    If this message appears during a data load, maintain the attribute in the PSA maintenance screens. If this message appears in the master data maintenance screens, leave the transaction and call it again. This allows you to maintain your master data.

Hi Chandra,
There are two problems hers
1) Material length.
2) Allowed character set.
1) for material length, as it says it is more than the length specified. to check the length allowed, go to table 0MSL.
2) for allowed character set, looks like '-' is not maintained. go to transaction RSKC and enter - . this will be added to the allowed set of characters.

I had even worst problem: I couldn't open 0Material for maintenance. I made a search in a net and found the following:
Load from4.5 failing because of invalid trailing char in Material
In short I made the following:
Executed a report RSCC_V_TMCNV.
After that I was able to change conversion routine in 0material to ALPHA.
That's all.

We just had a fresh Netweaver 2004s (BI7) installation and I am having problems activating 0Material in Business Content I recieve errors like
Characteristic 0CM_SHAR: Unit 0AREA_UNIT no allowed in compounding
Message no. R7B641
Attribute 0CM_CTAR from characteristic 0CM_CDT1 not (actively) available
Message no. R7322
Attribute 0CM_CDT1 from characteristic 0CM_CDT2 not (actively) available
Message no. R7322
etc
I have increased the length of 0material in OMSL, I have tried installing 0material in all the other possible installation groupings (only necessary objects, in data flow before etc.)
I have also tried the different groupings of installation (ie. data inflow before, data inflow before & after, only necessary objects etc.)
Please let me know if there is anyway you can be of help

Error transport in 0MATERIAL

Hi gurus
We are trying to transport 0MATERIAL to BQ1 but it is giving us this error. 0MATERIAL has 0BBP_PROD, 0APO_PROD and 0CRM_PROD as attribute but these three infoobjects have 0MATERIAL as attribute so everytime we tranport these objects it is failing because infoobject inactive dependencies.
The OSS that covers this 1139547 is implement but we are still having the problem.
Any idea??

have you recently modifyied 0material?
try following steps
1. transport 0 material to BQ1 and remove 0BBP_PROD, 0APO_PROD and 0CRM_PROD from its attributes.
2. trnasport 0BBP_PROD, 0APO_PROD and 0CRM_PROD these first to BQ1 with material as there attribute.
3. modify 0material in build and add above and attributes to it.
4. now transport 0material to BQ1 it should go properly.
you will have to move all these 3 transports in same sequence in all the systems.

0MATERIAL- Load Error

Hi All,
I get this error and when I remove the conversion routine in the IOBJ 'MATN1' the data gets loaded correct. If I test the CONVERSION_EXIT_MATN1_INPUT it works fine. (I hav echecked the TMCNV table for the 0MATERIAL length and leading zeros marked for X as well) -
The material length is defined as 18, Also if I enter a value directly into 0MATERIAL it automatically put the leading zero and stores it. But during master data load I get the following error. Pretty much all records are invalid with this error.
'0MATERIAL : Data record 1 ('00010001 '): Version '00010001 ' is not valid'

Hi Alex,
There might be a problem with the 0Material settings in BI system, so you can configure the same using t-code OMSL. Try to search on sdn for this t-code and you'll get your solution.

Material Conversion Error

Hi gurus,
i have executed a query and i have tried to drill on material then i got an error saying that

which says material conversion settings not found...

Solution
Make the settings for the material number conversion.
In BW Release 2.1C, the settings are maintained for the material number conversion via report RSCC_V_TMCNV.
As of BW Release 3.0A, the settings are maintained for the material number conversion via transaction OMSL.
Select the same settings as the settings made in the OLTP system.
Note that you must also perform the setting in client 000 if the error occurred while you were importing a transport request.

Go to transaction OMSL in BW and set the length of material number same as that in transaction OMSL in R/3, should resolve the problem.

Are UOM conversions based on 0material not allowed in Infosets?

`We've create an Infoset and now we want to do a Qty UOM conversion based on 0material. We keep getting an error saying 0material is not a Key figure. When we use a UOM conversion based off the T006 table it is fine. Am I doing soemthing wrong or is this a limitation of an infoset.

what do you mean? I have a key figure and on the conversion tab in the query I selcet a conversion we created based on material. It works fine in cubes MP and DSo but not an infoset

Routine Issue

I have a requirement using routine i need to pull the data into daily sales cube.
For daily sales cube data will get updated form billing cube, global history cube, sales order cube and sales agreement cube. In these 4 cubes i have 0material infoobject.
In daily sales cube we dont have 0material infoobject. Now i have to pull the data using 0material.
For this i have routine but when i check the routine it is showing error message 0material table was not maintained in abap dictionary. please find the below code.

Elec Family infoobject is a navigational attribute in 0material.

This routine is fine but when i check the routine output_package-busgrp =g_t_material-busgrp here it is throwing exception The data object "OUTPUT_PACKAGE" does not have a component called busgrp.
As business group is included as a stand alone infoobject in cube level.
do i need to write the routine at the object level ?

Uploading Material and Plant Masterdata

Hi BW experts,
I am trying to upload master data from R/3 Prod for 0Material & 0MAT_PLANT. My upload failed as some of the materials and plants created in R/3 have been created with a space character at the end of the name (i,e '1000 ' as a plant, note the space at the end). This should normally happen as in R/3 a conv exits stops users creating unacceptable names but it seems the exit has been modifed! What a pain!
I have decided to replace the space with a unscore character (i.e '1000_') so this way it can be read into BW, although we would not report on this errornous material or plant name. The code is as follows:
DATA: LEN TYPE I.
LEN = STRLEN( TRAN_STRUCTURE-MATNR ).
TRANSLATE TRAN_STRUCTURE-MATNR+LEN USING ' _'.
and I have used it in the transfer routine for 0PLANT and 0MAT_PLANT. The load goes on but fails with the following error for 0MATERIAL & 0MAT_PLANT:
DATA_OFFSET_TOO_LARGE
CX_SY_RANGE_OUT_OF_BOUNDS
An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below
. The exception, which is assigned to the class 'CX_SY_RANGE_OUT_OF_BOUNDS',
was neither
caught nor passed along using a RAISING clause, in the procedure
"COMPUTE_MATERIAL" "(FORM)"
Since the caller of the procedure could not have expected this exception
to occur, the running program was terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
The system tried to access field "TRAN_STRUCTURE-MATNR" with type "C" and
length
18 in the current program "GPBMDZFJE4YBL86FIMHZC52BNOE " using offset 18.
Partial field access is not allowed with an offset specification that is
larger than actual field length.
Could this be due to the code?

I am not too good with ABAP so you may need to help verify the code for me little. Do you mean the code should look like this:
DATA: LEN TYPE I.
LEN = STRLEN( TRAN_STRUCTURE-WERKS ).

"Settings for material number conversion not found" occurs when ...

After I run an initial load data into the InfoCube 0PUR_C01, I want to check the InfoCube Content by the following path:
RSA1 -> pick up the InfoCube 0PUR_C01, right click it and select Manage -> Get to Content tab -> Click InfoCube Content button -> Deselect all selection, only tick the 1st column checkbox next to 0Material, then hit enter, get a small window titled as "Cancel" with a red STOP msg sysing "Settings for material number conversion not found" with an "Exit" button and a question mark button, click Exit button leads to SAP Easy Access screen, if clicking the question mark button, another window pops up with the msg showed above, click Technical Information button causes the original window short dump and the short dump msg shows below in between two dashed lines:

Problem while loading master data - Help

I am using BI-7. I have Customer & Plant compounded in ZMat_Plant. I am trying to load zmat_Plant but getting following error.
I followed the solution as in link,but didnt worked: RSDMD 194: Error Loading 0Material 7.0 using 0SOURSYSTEM as compounding

Error While activating 0Material(BI7)

Dear Gurus,
I am trying to Activate 0Material Infoobject after deleting a Navigation attribute(Classification characteristics) ,the system throws a error " Error while activating Type Info object".And when i navigated to the Detailed error message it says " error : Internal Activation(info object) - error while converting master data tables .Can anyone help me out with this.

Dear gurus,
We posted the error message to SAP and they have replied " while we deleted the attributes from the Info object(0material) it broke the D-Version of the Object and so to Transport the Info object from another Working system to the Problem(Dev)system ,Install and then activate".
1). Does it mean we can install them object in PRODUCTION Server and then transport to the Development.???
2). Now i tried installing 0Material in RSORBCT in Produciton,but gets a message "Cant make any changes in the repository-changes in this client prohibited". Guys could u help us with this??

Diagnosis
Currently, it cannot be guaranteed that SIDs and master data exists for all characteristic attributes for the DataStore object to be read.
There is a restriction on a navigation attribute of the listed characteristic in the query. This filters all characteristic values of the master-data bearing characteristic for which there is not yet master data out of the result.
For performance reasons, this filtering is unavoidable.

In case of doubt, find other restirctions directly on the characteristic values of the characteristics contained in the DataStore object.

Dear all SAP Gurus,
we've solved this problem and this is the solution:
The warning is triggered by the method CL_RSDRV_ODS_QUERY-PROCESS_SFC_WITH_ATR when the BExFlag of the InfoProvider is not set. Using DSOs for direct update there is no change to change the BExFlag. As a result queries based on a DSO for direct update always throw the above mentioned warning when filter-characteristics are attributes.
