how to clear this error.
Regards,

Hi,
Can you make sure right version of Java and OBIEE client tool (i think there is a mismatch of the JVM and the OS. ex: Install 32 bit for windows 32 bit OS)

    Hi,
    When you are logged in to the OS, can you do an "su" to the "scripts" user using this exact password (passwords are case-sensitive) ?
    Also make sure that you have libpam.so located somewhere in $LD_LIBRARY_PATH and that it points to a real file.
    external jobs with credentials use jssu, but I don't think permissions on jssu are the problem here (it should be setuid to root).
    Hope this helps,
    Ravi.

    Use SQL*Plus to execute SQL, PL/SQL and SQL*Plus statements.
    Usage 1: sqlplus -H | -V
        -H             Displays the SQL*Plus version and the
                       usage help.
        -V             Displays the SQL*Plus version.
    Usage 2: sqlplus [ [<option>] [<logon>] [<start>] ]
      <option> is: [-C <version>] [-L] [-M "<options>"] [-R <level>] [-S]
        -C <version>   Sets the compatibility of affected commands to the
                       version specified by <version>.  The version has
                       the form "x.y[.z]".  For example, -C 10.2.0
        -F             Enables the failover mode for a RAC environment.
        -L             Attempts to log on just once, instead of
                       reprompting on error.
        -M "<options>" Sets automatic HTML markup of output.  The options
                       have the form:
                       HTML [ON|OFF] [HEAD text] [BODY text] [TABLE text]
                       [ENTMAP {ON|OFF}] [SPOOL {ON|OFF}] [PRE[FORMAT] {ON|OFF}]
        -R <level>     Sets restricted mode to disable SQL*Plus commands
                       that interact with the file system.  The level can
                       be 1, 2 or 3.  The most restrictive is -R 3 which
                       disables all user commands interacting with the
                       file system.
        -S             Sets silent mode which suppresses the display of
                       the SQL*Plus banner, prompts, and echoing of
                       commands.
      <logon> is: (<username>[/<password>][@<connect_identifier>] | /)
                  [AS SYSDBA | AS SYSOPER | AS SYSASM] | /NOLOG | [EDITION=value]
        Specifies the database account username, password and connect
        identifier for the database connection.  Without a connect
        identifier, SQL*Plus connects to the default database.
        The AS SYSDBA, AS SYSOPER and AS SYSASM  options are database
        administration privileges.
        <connect_identifier> can be in the form of Net Service Name
        or Easy Connect.
          @[<net_service_name> | [//]Host[:Port]/<service_name>]
            <net_service_name> is a simple name for a service that resolves
            to a connect descriptor.
            Example: Connect to database using Net Service Name and the
                     database net service name is ORCL.
               sqlplus myusername/mypassword@ORCL
            Host specifies the host name or IP address of the database
            server computer.
            Port specifies the listening port on the database server.
            <service_name> specifies the service name of the database you
            want to access.
            Example: Connect to database using Easy Connect and the
                     Service name is ORCL.
               sqlplus myusername/mypassword@Host/ORCL
        The /NOLOG option starts SQL*Plus without connecting to a
        database.
        The EDITION specifies the value for Application
        Edition
      <start> is: @<URL>|<filename>[.<ext>] [<parameter> ...]
        Runs the specified SQL*Plus script from a web server (URL) or the
        local file system (filename.ext) with specified parameters that
        will be assigned to substitution variables in the script.
    When SQL*Plus starts, and after CONNECT commands, the site profile
    (e.g. $ORACLE_HOME/sqlplus/admin/glogin.sql) and the user profile
    (e.g. login.sql in the working directory) are run.  The files may
    contain SQL*Plus commands.
    Refer to the SQL*Plus User's Guide and Reference for more information.

  • TNS Protocol error in 11g when creating a new database

    Hi,
    I have installed 11g R2 64 Bit on Solaris 10 64 Bit. The installation happened successfully. Now when I use DBCA to create a new database it says ORA-12560 TNS:Protocol Adapter Error. I am accessing the server console and performing all operations there itself, I can't understand this issue.
    I have also created a listener.ora and tnsnames.ora and its running successfully (but don't really know if it is needed since I have not even created the database). The sqlnet.log shows following

  • ORA-00932 Error using 11g and the SDO_RELATE function. Works fine in 10g

    Hello,
    If I run this query in Oracle 11g:
    SELECT M.FID, MAX(M.VERSION) AS VERSION
    FROM SW_PB.A_ROADNODEINFORMATION M, SW_PB.ROADNODE N
    WHERE M.REFERENCETOROADNODE = N.FID
    AND M.NODEVERSION = N.VERSION
    AND M.CATALOGUEID <= 477
    AND MDSYS.SDO_RELATE( N.GEOM, MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2003,81989,NULL,MDSYS.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1,1003,3),MDSYS.SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(120000,0,160000,40000)),'MASK=ANYINTERACT QUERYTYPE=WINDOW') = 'TRUE'
    GROUP BY M.FID;
    I get an error regarding the N.GEOM field. The error is as follows:
    ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected - got MDSYS.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY
    The same query runs fine on a 10g database with the same data. I've even truncated the N table and still get the error. I've rebuilt the index but it makes no difference and the metadata is exactly the same for this table as it is for other tables that are involved in a similar query.
    It looks like a bug to me but just wondered if anyone else had come across this?
    Thanks,
    Peter.

    Thanks for the reply. I'm really sorry but I haven't created trace files like this for a very long time and have forgotten the best way to read them. This is the start of the trace file, any help with reformatting it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Peter.

    ORA-12560 TNS protocol Adapter error
    By setting the ORACLE_SID = orcl by browsing to the bin directory of Oracle Installation the above error disappaears and i am able to log in from sql plus.
    My intention is to create a db backup for which i am trying to use the exp command...this time the same error appears.
    Also the solution of setting the ORACLE_SID is cumbersome..everytimt i want to use sql plus i need to go in and set the ORACLE_SID.
    Can anybody please help me out find a good solution for this?
    Any help would be appreciated friends.....
    Thanks in Advance!!!!!
    Regards.
    Alicia

    Also the solution of setting the ORACLE_SID is cumbersome..everytimt i want to use sql plus i need to go in and set the ORACLE_SID.
    Can anybody please help me out find a good solution for this?The solution depends on your (not specified) operating system...
    Anyway, if you have more than one database it's normal that you have to set ORACLE_SID, if not how can Oracle know which database you want to access to ?
    You can create batch files, one per database, or you can use connection strings, e.g. sqlplus username/password@<DB>.

  • Subquery in pivot_in_clause gives an error in 11g

    Hi,
    according to the 11g sql documentation a subquery is allowed in pivot_in_clause
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28286/statements_10002.htm here's is the pivot_in_clause syntax.
    When I use a subquery I get an error. What am I doing wrong?
    Without a subquery, everything works fine.

    Hi Chris/Sayama,
    This error seems to happen because of the SMTP password provided being more than or less than 8 characters. The workaround is to either not provide any SMTP details or provide an exact 8-character password.
    For more information on this look at the metalink note [ID 1091903.1].

  • Pro*c errors in 11g. -- Compiles fine in 10g.

    Hi,
    We are planning to migrate from 10g to 11g so started compiling our Pro*c code in to 11g. Got several errors and couldn't trace. So to investigate further I have written a basic pro*c program as follows:
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include <sqlca.h>
    /*#include <sqlcpr.h>*/
    #include <oraca.h>
    #include <sqlda.h>

    void sql_error();
    int main(int argc, char** argv)
    char user[]="myusername";
    char pwd[]="mypassword";
    char msg_buf[51]="";
    /* Register sql_error() as the error handler. */
    EXEC SQL WHENEVER SQLERROR DO sql_error("ORACLE error\n");
    EXEC SQL CONNECT :user IDENTIFIED BY :pwd;
    EXEC SQL
    INSERT INTO hello_world
    VALUES ('Hello world!');
    EXEC SQL COMMIT;
    EXEC SQL
    SELECT msg
    INTO :msg_buf
    FROM hello_world
    WHERE rownum <= 1;
    printf("%s\n", msg_buf);
    return(0);
    void sql_error(char *msg)
    char err_msg[128];
    int buf_len, msg_len;
    EXEC SQL WHENEVER SQLERROR CONTINUE;
    printf("%s\n", msg);
    buf_len = sizeof (err_msg);
    sqlglm(err_msg, &buf_len, &msg_len);
    if (msg_len > buf_len)
    msg_len = buf_len;
    printf("%.*s\n", msg_len, err_msg);
    EXEC SQL ROLLBACK RELEASE;
    exit(1);
    }And then did the following:
    proc iname=hellodb.pc MODE=ORACLE it has created a .c file.
    Now run
    /opt/ansic/bin/cc -g  -I. -I${ORACLE_HOME}/precomp/public -c hellodb.c -o hellodbwhich gave me a big list of errors / warnings.

    Hello,
    We face the similar problem.Our database is migrated to 11.2.0.2 from 10g.
    PRO*C compilation is not happening with so many warnings and 1 error below
    error #4313-D: no prototype or definition in scope for call to memory allocation routine "malloc".
    Could you please provide the solution.
    we are using the following command to compile PRO*C

  • Oracle Report Hang with error on 11g.

    Dear Team,
    I have following setup:-
    We are using oracle database 11g R2
    Oracle Forms & reports : 11.1.2
    O.S : Windows 7 Professional
    When I log in to forms, I am able to log in successfully, after that when i run the report from forms 11g, i receive the below error in web logic server.
    <Alert> <Diagnostics> <BEA-320016> <Creating diagnostic image in d:\oracle\middleware\user_projects\domains\classicdomain\servers\adminserver\adr\diag\ofm\classicdomain\adminserver\incident\incdir_27 with a lockout minute period of 1>
    Reports were running fine till today, but only recently i made one change in rwserver.conf, i changed maxengine = 2 there.
    Secondly I setup xampp apache server and gave a path in windows folder to instantclient for successfully connecting with php.
    Please let me know is the error coming because of the 2 changes or either of the changes. Or else, please let me know any workaround to avoid this error.
    Thank you in advance.

    Thanks Roberto for your reply.
    Now Reports were running fine, I removed xampp apache server path from windows folder and put same path at the end of oracle configuration path separated by semicolon.
    whenever I made some changes in configuration file weblogic server hangs up and it doesn't allow to run report on web while in report builder it works fine.
    What is the reason behind it, is there any permenent solution to this problem.

  • Write Back Error OBIEE 11g

    I am facing the following error massege in writeback funtionality.
    I checked the value ,connection pool,writable,read/write permissions but not resolved the issue.
    "An error occurred while writing to the server. Please check to make sure you have entered appropriate values. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator."
    Any help about that ?

    Hi,
    http://satyaobieesolutions.blogspot.in/2013/03/write-back.html -- recheck your configuration following this link step by step with screen shots.
    http://satyaobieesolutions.blogspot.in/2012/06/obiee-10g11g-writeback-capabilities.html
    http://satyaobieesolutions.blogspot.in/2012/06/excel-data-source-writeback-in-obiee.html Note : The Problem Occurred two ways,
    1. Problem your XMl Script
    2. If null value not present in your columns in your table in database.The ; problem has occured.
    please check below steps.
    1. Are you using OCI or ODBC in your connection pool? Try it with OCI Call Interface 11g.
    2.Remove the commit tag from the XML file.
    <postUpdate>COMMIT</postUpdate>
    =============================================================================================================
    This xml file working for me.
    Insert--
    A couple of small adjustments got your XML to work here:
    <?xml version="1.0"; encoding="utf-8"?>
    <WebMessageTables xmlns:sawm="com.siebel.analytics.web/message/v1";>
    <WebMessageTable lang="en-us" system="WriteBack" table="Messages">
    <WebMessage name="WriteBack">
    <XML>
    <writeBack connectionPool="Connection Pool">
    <insert> INSERT INTO FACT (PRICE,PRODUCT_KEY,REGION_KEY,SALE_UNIT,TIMEKEY,SALES_QUOTA)
    values (@{c7},@{c8},@{c9},@{c10},@{c11},@{c5} ) </insert>
    <update> </update>
    </writeBack>
    </XML>
    </WebMessage>
    </WebMessageTable>
    </WebMessageTables>
    The <writeBack> tag is written with a lower case "w".
    The "connetionPool" needs an upper case "P".
    Update--
    I think that you have to specify also an SQL statement for the update tag, for example:
    <?xml version="1.0"; encoding="utf-8"?>
    <WebMessageTables xmlns:sawm="com.siebel.analytics.web/message/v1";>
    <WebMessageTable lang="en-us" system="WriteBack" table="Messages">
    <WebMessage name="pmet_update">
    <XML>
    <writeBack connectionPool="PMTCOG">
    <insert> select null from dual</insert>
    <update> UPDATE XREF_PMET_URL SET URL= '@{c1}' WHERE API='@{c0}'</update>
    </writeBack>
    </XML>
    </WebMessage>
    </WebMessageTable>
    </WebMessageTables>
    The witeback wants for both the tags (<insert></insert> and <update></update>) an SQL Statement.
    Hope this help's
    Thanks

  • Win_Api_Environment.Read_Ini_File throws error in 11g OAS

    Dear All,
    We are in the process of upgrading our forms application from 10g to 11g. During this process we are facing an issue in Win_Api_Environment.Read_Ini_File.
    h1.Issue :-
    When we access this function we are getting "Undefined Error" error at run time. The same form with same Ini file is working in 10g. Ini file is present in the same path of the OAS and path is configured in the env file. Earlier we got an error WUC-21 in the console along with this "Undefined Error" and after changing the webutil properties in both the server side and client side WUC-21 is resolved but still ""Undefined Error" is present in the screens.
    h1.Server Spec:
    Fussion Middle ware : FMW 11.1.1.4.0 64
    Oracle Application Server : 11.1.1.2.0_64
    patch Applied : p11060983_111140_MSWIN-x86-64
    OS : Windows 2008
    Bit : 64
    Please help me to solve this issue...

    Without looking at the details too far, I can say that some webutil functionality will not work correctly on a 64bit client machine if you are using 11.1.1.x. In this version Oracle only supports using 32bit clients if you are expecting to use WebUtil. In release 2 (11.1.2.x), 64bit Windows client machines are supported.
    Also, be sure you have not copied configuration or webutil specific files from version 10 and moved them to v11. The WebUtil version is Forms 11 is also version 11. Using v10 WebUtil in Forms 11 is not supported. Also, be sure that you have generated webutil.pll into webutil.plx in your version 11 environment. Again, do not use the files from v10.
    Finally, if the client machine you are using for v10 is the same as the one you are using for 11 testing, I would recommend that you clean house before testing v11. Specifically do the following on the client:
    1. Close ALL open browsers
    2. Clear the JRE cache. This can be done from the Java Control Panel or the file system
    3. Delete all occurances of webutil.*properties
    4. Delete the following files from the JRE home\bin directory (C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin) if they exist:
    <li>d2kwut60.dll
    <li>jacob.dll
    <li>JNIsharedstubs.dll
    5. Retest.... but again, if you are using a 64bit machine (client) you can expect some webutil features to not work correctly.
