Getting Adobe Acrobat Pro to install in German
We have been unable to get the Adobe Acrobat Pro to install in German dispite selecting the specific download, and language settings, it simply has installed in English on our Switzerland users machine.
Please advise on this.Care to provide some screenshots of the install as well as the install logs perhaps? Also, what system language do you use or for that matter what systems actualyl to begin with? Installers fall back to the default language of the insatall package if they cannot detect the system language correctly and due to installer dependencies manual overrides may then not work and still wrong files be installed.

I don't know if this is the right section but I experience the following issue with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI installed on Windows 8.1. When I start Acrobat the related window opens normally but, after some scroll up and down along the document, it blocks, Acrobat doesn't respond to any command I can give and, in place of the pointer arrow, a vertical bar, as the one of the text editor appears. The only way I can stop Acrobat is by means of the task manager. I tried to de-install and the re- install Acrobat but the behaviour is always the same. What can I do??
Have you opened Acrobat and gone to Help>Updates to get an updated install?

I have Acrobat Pro 9 installed on Windows 8
I have Acrobat Pro 9 installed on Windows 8 and it asked me to download Adobe Reader 11.0.09 Font Packs - Asian and Extended Language Pack but it says I need Adobe Reader XI to be installed first. Will this pack work with Acrobat Pro 9? Is there a different pack for Acrobat Pro 9? Thanks for any help.
Also: I am not doing anything with languages other than English. I don't read them or write them. I just use English. Why do I need such a pack?Hi Hanoch ,
Compatibility of Acrobat 9 with Windows 8 could be a reason that you are facing such an issue.
As Acrobat 9 is an older version ,that could be one of the reasons it is prompting you to download the Reader 11.0.09 Font Packs.
Would request you to check for an update first ,and if it fails try switching on to the latest version of Acrobat ,i.e 11.0.10.
To check for Updates.
Launch Acrobat>Navigate to Help>Check for Updates.
You may also want to refer to the following link.

See if that helps.

Why does acrobat reader 10 keep re-installing even though acrobat pro 11 installed
I have Acrobat Pro 11 installed, and even though I keep uninstalling (Windows 7, Programs and Features) Acrobat Reader 10, it keeps re-installing it.
How to I stop this from happening? No, acrobat pro isn't doing it, it looks like updater is doing it. It's as if updater still thinks acrobat reader 10 is installed and tries to update it for me.
And yes I am on a corporate network, but there are no 'AD policies' in place to install reader or update it. And other users with Pro on their system don't have this issue. -
My old laptop, which had Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 installed, had a hard disk hard failure. I am trying to install from the original CD onto a new computer and the install has told me that I must deactivate on my old computer (which I cannot do because it is broken) so that I can install on my new computer. How do I proceed now?

Where is the plug in tab option in the upper menu bar when acrobat pro is installed on a mac
where is the plug in tab option in the upper menu bar when acrobat pro is installed on a mac
When Acrobat is installed first, it does not have a Plug-ins menu. When you buy extra plug-ins for Acrobat, some plug-ins will add a Plug-ins menu. Some won't - some will add other menus, or buttons, or something else.
So
1. Make sure you have purchased the Mac plug-in(s) you need.
2. Make sure they are installed.
3. Make sure they are compatible with your version of Acrobat; the Mac is much less forgiving about versions, you need to check carefully.
4. If the plug-in is compatible and installed perhaps it doesn't add a plug-ins menu. -
Hello,
I am getting an error in Acrobat Pro 8 when I scan w/OCR option enabled. The software basically crashes and closes.
Here is the scenario;
We have Fujitsu Color scanners running twain drivers. The 200+ page documents seem to scan okay but when the OCR process starts it hangs on what looks like charts or graphs in the document. This is consistent on several computers but not all charts or graphs. The strange part about this is if I deselect OCR option, scan the document, save it to disk, and then run the OCR from the Document menu, it works fine. Any clues?
Thanks in advance,
-RobertProbably Acrobat and/or the scanning software is running out of resouces. It could be RAM. It could be hard disk space. Doing it in two steps seems like the way to go even if you were to prefer it to be one step.

I have Acrobat Pro X installed on my MacBook, can I install it onto my desktop under the same Licence -S/N?
Acrobat X download is available thru the following web page:
http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html -
"This installation package could not be opened.Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."
Too funny. And THAT is a Windows error. Adobe software won't "automatically" install correctly on trial basis of Acrobat Pro XI but gives no hint of probs. I even read one solution where the answer casually suggested the user go modify the registry. Most users should NOT make registry changes if they don't know what they're doing, as they can indirectly affect other products.
So what's the answer, here, ADOBE?We are trying to help, but you are venting instead of providing information to allow us to help. Many of us got to the forums for the same reason you came here, though we already had the product. Sabian has provided the standard download location. Normally there should be no problem with the install and I do not understand why you are getting the message. Others may drop by that have run into the problem. Even if Adobe talked to you, you would probably just get a step through of a check list to try to isolate the problem based on that check list. It sounds like you don't have a valid download and Sabian's link might help if that was not where you got it.

Any ideas? Also sent to HP.
MikailWhile on Adobe's site I had a chat with tech support. Once I gave them the serial number they said that it was volume license (I am a teacher and the school supplied the program) and that I would have to call the volume licensing number. I just spent 33 minutes on the phone with Adobe being bounced four different times. I called volume license number given in the chat, went through the problem. They transferred me to tech support where I gave them the same information again. They transferred me to Acrobat support. I gave them the information again and they said that I needed a service agreement (looks like the school does not have one) and would transfer me back to volume license. The last transfer just said that I should have been told that on the first call. I still do not have Acrobat Pro printing to my printer. All of my applications will print except Acrobat Pro. Any other suggestions?

I have not be able to get Acrobat Pro X to finish installing on my MacBook for several years. I have read lots of help files, and group discussions. I have tried all sorts of things including unstalling various ways and reinstalling various ways. I tried other utilities to scrub residual Adobe files. I've tried installing as root user, in safe mode, etc.
The problem started at least as far back as when I first tried to install CS 5.5 and was running 10.6, and it still persists now that I am trying to install CS 6 and running 10.7. Along the way I've rebuilt permissions and done various disk maintaince several times. I even had to restore from Time Machine once.
Throughout all of this, about the same thing alway happens. The CS installer runs fine for everything up to the last stage of installation for Acrobat. When the installer finishes, it says Acrobat install failed. The lastest error log is below.
Despite the message, Acrobat actually runs, and mostly works fine. The main indicator that something still isn't right is that when I try to update it, the update (also seems to run OK until about the end but then) says it can't update Acrobat because something has been changed. The other CS applications run and update fine.
I'm tired of trying things without knowing what I'm trying to fix. It's clear that this type of problem is pretty widespread with Adobe Acrobat. So, does anyone really understand what the problem with their installer is??

Win 7 SideBySide Error with Acrobat Pro

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I've also read that installing manual updates might help but when I tried that I got an error to the effect that I didn't have that program installed. I'm pretty sure I did that correctly but maybe not. Anyway, is anyone familiar with this and can tell me what I can do to fix it?
Thank you. What happened was I did the initial install using my CD and set Acrobat to not download or install updates since I was going to try and do that manually. I tried to do it manually, but when I went to install the update got a message that the proper program did not exist or something like that. I thought maybe I tried to jump too far too fast - i.e., from my disk which I believe is 9.0 to 9.5.4 from Adobe's website. So I was going to come back when I had more time and do more incremental upgrades.
Later that day there was an Adobe Updater icon in my task bar and I thought it was for another program and clicked on it. It updated Acrobat to 9.5.4. Both when the original 9.0 was installed and when the update occurred, I got the SideBySide errors.
I'm fine with uninstalling it and trying again, but I'm not really sure what's the best approach at this point. I'm wondering if anyone else has had any success it installing it and not getting the SideBySide errors.
Thanks.
