i am getting error "Generation of conversion exits and PSA update..." " when i am activating datasource, tried it using the report,
rsds_datasource_activate_all" but getting the error "no datasource with these attributes".

Try Activating the Datasource using the programme RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL --> Source system: give your source
system name, Infosource gen: give your datasource name-->Check the only inactive check box and execute
If you already done.. check the source system connection and check the naming convetion of Z or Y fields and also check in
transfer structure..

Hello,
I am trying to create a new transaction data datasource assigned to a flat file source system. When i hit the check i get no errors but when i try to activate the activation fails with errors. The error Message No. RSO404 says "Error when activating Datasource". We are on BW 7.0 stack 12.
Has anyone seen this? It is hard to troubleshoot it when i get no real errors to go on. It is a very simple three field datasource with one characteristic, one key fig, and an additional currency characteristic. The key fig is in external format and references 0CURRENCY. Does anybody have any insight?

Error When Activating DataSource in BI

I have created a Generice Data Source in source system and replicated the same in BI. I am getting error 'Error when activating Datasource '.

First check whether u have activated the data source in the transaction RSA6. Also, check whether the data source which you activated is listed in transaction RSA5.

Error when activating Datasource in Source System

Dear All,
I am gettting this error when activating data source in source system(RSA5).
1)DataSource 0NETWORK_CUST_ATTR; switch to package PS_IS_EHP3_SFWS_SC is off.
2) The extract structure DTTV_REC_53 of the DataSource 0TV_REC_531 is invalid
Message no. R8444
Diagnosis
An invalid extract structure has been assigned to the DataSource. An extract structure has to be active in the DDIC. It cannot be a view, since the customer is not able to add append fields for filling in the customer exits to a view.

im getting an error while trying to activate the datasource at BW.
The error is
Field TOTAL_CLAIM_AMT_TRSH ( Position 211 ): Field name is longer than 16 characters

Hi ,
Execute the SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN program.
Enter the value RSAR_LONG_FIELDNAME in the 'OBJECT' field.
As of Support Package 16 (3.0B) and 10 (3.10 Content), you can take the name of the transfer structure from the longtext of error message RSAR 492. Enter this in the 'VALUE' field.
For lower Support Packages, you can take the name of the transfer structure from the TRANSTRU field of the RSISOSMAP table with:
OLTPSOURCE = Name of the DataSource
LOGSYS = Name of the source system

when I try to perform a manage on the DataSource I get the following message:
Invalid DataStore object name /BIC/B0001633: Reason: No valid entry in table RSTS

Error while activating the datasource [UD Connect]. getting error as '&'

I am trying to get the data from a SQL source through UD connect.
I do the proposal and map all the info objects to the respective columns.
When i acticate the data source i am getting the error as
'&' and Error while Error when activating DataSource 'ZEFF_ENTRY UD_ECUBE'
Please do tell why such errors occur and also the solution to handle such errors.

where you are getting error in ECC?. or in BW?. If it is already in use, then you need to clear all Queues and then try to activate it.

Error when activating an R/3 generic datasource in BW

Hi
I've created a generic datasource in R/3 4.6C system using a table view over R/3 standard Project System tables with joins. This datasource has been activated. I then replicated this generic datasource in BI7 datawarehousing environment. The replication went ok and I could see the R/3 generic datasource in RSA1. When I tried to activate this datasource I received this error message:
Error when activating DataSource ZPROJECT_ATTR Message no. RSO404
I didnt have similar problem with the other generic datasources.
I'm currently working on Netweaver 2004s BI support pack 10 environment.
Please let me know how to fix this problem.

Error generating/activating WebService BW DataSource

I created a BW DataSource using WebService in BI7 and I got the following errors when trying to activate it.
Error generating Web service /BIC/CQZBRSDAT00001000
Message no. RSDS301
Error when activating DataSource ZBRSDATA WEBSERVICE
Message no. RSO404
Could anyone please advise for any inputs/tips for the issue? I found below two threads but the OSS Note 913944 appreantly does not exist anymore (not sure if it is being removed, updated, etc).

Error while activating Data source

Hi,
I hit an error while activating data source with adapter 'WEB_PUSH web service'.
The error message is 'Generation of conversion exists and PSA update ...' with details 'Error generating Web service /BIC/CZZZ_0010000100 ...' and 'Error when activating DataSource ZZZ_001'.
I can't find much detail on this error.
Has anyone hit this error before and if you did can you please let me know what to check?

After importing all extractors into qty ,
My data sources are in inactive status even i try to cativate manually,
we have 10 extractors with same application among that 5 are active version seems to be 3x version.,

I had checked in RSA3 , it is showing records too.
i replicated the Datasource in BW
Datasource is available in BW
Then I try to activated the Datasource
because
when i try to create tranformation for the data source then
It will show this message (and transformation is not created)

My Data source name is ZCOPC_C10 for source system GDVCLNT110
then I will try to Activated the Data source First

Error with transporting datasource

Hello,
I have an issue activating a datasource. I created a generic datasource called 'ZHIP_TD_CLOSE_INV_BALANCE' within BW - i.e the source is BI and NOT R/3. I created transformation from datasource to Cube and loaded data. Everything is working fine. Now when I transport the datasource from Dev to Quality the transport failed. The error log says 'InfoSource ZHIP_TD_CLOSE_INV_BALANCE is not available in source system WP1CLNT310' & 'Error when activating DataSource ZHIP_TD_CLOSE_INV_BALANCE WP1CLNT310'. I do not have an infosource to begin with. So then when I go and try to activate the datasource in Quality, I get the same message i.e. 'InfoSource ZHIP_TD_CLOSE_INV_BALANCE is not available in source system WP1CLNT310'. How do I fix the error and get the transports through? Remember, the existing config works fine in Dev. Thanks for your help in advance.

what objects are you trying to transport along with the data source ? If you have transfer rules along with this request then might be you would get this error. Also check if your source conversion is maintained correctly. you can check that in RSA1 > Tools > Conversion of Source system names.
Here maintain the system conversion. Once done, recreate a transport request with only data source and transport. Once done replicate and transport your other objects.
