Error in Alert calculation engine
Hi,
The system availability report in interactive reporting is not available for the specific timings(during night) and we have got so many “Errors raised during Event Calculation” alerts from SolMan for the same time. This was due to below error in SLG1 logs for Alert calculation engine.
"The category MONITORING is locked by user SOLMAN_BTC and could not be calculated"
After further analysis I found the SAP Note 1964945 for the same issue. Even after implementing this Note, we are facing the same error. There are also many free background workprocess available for all the time. Could you please help to solve this issue.
Regards,
Sukanya
Hi Jansi/Roland,
Thanks for your reply. As i mentioned i have already implemented the Note 1964945 in SolMan and also reactivated the technical monitoring again.
But still the same issue. This error is not appearing always, its like 2 days once, but for the longer period.
Regards,
Sukanya

how to solve this error,
VshabirHey
Please make sure that you have added fully qualified domain name under the parameter com.sap.aii.rwb.server.centralmonitoring.r3.ashost in exchange profile.
It wont work if you only have hostname there.
You may need to restart Java engine after the change.
Thanks

Error in activating Calculation view
Hi Gurus,
Please help me in resolving this issue below as I get an error when activating calculation view.
Internal deployment of object failed;Repository: Encountered an error in repository runtime extension;Internal Error:Unable to create hierarchy view: CREATE COLUMN VIEW
SQL: transaction rolled back by an internal error: identifier is too long: the identifer
description" is too long. Maximum length is 127:
I have checked all content related to this error but not able to find a solution.
Please adviseThough your calc view name could be small, the 'fully qualified' calculation view name could be bigger than 127 character.
Fully Qualified name = <packagename.packagename.packagename.....>/<calc view name>
For each calc view that you activate, HANA internally creates more than one column views (based on your attributes) which are found under the _SYS_BIC schema and there it will fail if the column view name is exceeding 127 characters.
Solution: make sure the fully qualified name is not too big

Automatic restart of Error-Message in Adapter-Engine (Job?)
Hi,
we are working on PI 7.11 and facing following problem:
Often in message-monitoring error-messages are forgotten because of wrong date-selections by the monitorer (not enough days back). It would be very nice, if there is a function witch is repeating error-messages in adapter-engine automaticly and witch can be scheduled.
Does anybody know something about an excisting program / function on PI?
Regards
JürgHi,
By default if any failure occurs in adapter engine (in case of receiver, during delivery to target system)
it will retry 3 times after a period interval of 5 minutes..this is by default even this can be change if needed with the help of the proeprties at NWA/VA...
but in case of failures at IE level (mappings,...) then you need to schedule the report RSXMB_RESTART_MESSAGES....
search SDN if like to know more about the reports...

DG Observer triggering SIGSEGV Address not mapped to object errors in alert log
Hi,
I've got a Data Guard configuration using two 11.2.0.3 single instance databases. The configuration has been configured for automatic failover and I have an observer running on a separate box.
This fast-start failover configuration has been in place for about a month and in the last week, numerous SEGSEGV (address not mapped to object) errors are reported in the alert log. This is happening quite frequently (every 4/5 minutes or so).
The corresponding trace files show the process triggering the error coming from the observer.
Has anyone experienced this problem? I'm at my wits end trying to figure out how to fix the configuration to eliminate this error.
I must also note that even though this error is occurring a lot, it doesn't seem to be affecting any of the database functionality.
Help?
Thanks in advance.
BethHi.. The following is the alert log message, the traced file generated, and the current values of the data guard configuration. In addition, as part of my research, I attempted to apply patch 12615660 which did not take care of the issue. I also set the inbound_connection_timeout parameter to 0 and that didn't help either. I'm still researching but any pointer in the right direction is very much appreciated.

Does anyone know why? Thanks.
RichardI'm not sure if this will answer your question or not, but I believe these messages can likely be ignored.
I'm currently running 10.2.0.1.0 Enterprise Edition in pre-production (yes, I know I should apply the latest patchset and I plan to do so as soon as I get a development box allocated to me and can test it's impact). I see the same types of messages that you've reported with each of my regularly-scheduled backups:
a) The alert_<$SID>.log reports that there are errors in trace files:
Mon Aug 10 04:33:49 2009
Starting control autobackup
Mon Aug 10 04:33:50 2009

Control autobackup written to DISK device
handle '/backup/physical/BLAH/RMAN/cf_c-2740124895-20090810-00'
b) The .trc files, when you look at them contain no errors - only these "informational" messages:
*** 2009-08-10 04:33:50.781
*** ACTION NAME:(0000105 STARTED111) 2009-08-10 04:33:50.754

*** SESSION ID:(126.28030) 2009-08-10 04:33:50.754
c) I've verified that LOG_ARCHIVE_TRACE is set to 0:
SQL*Plus> show parameter log_archive_trace
NAME TYPE VALUE
log_archive_trace integer 0
As best I can discern from my own experience, these should just be ignored and I trust (read: "hope") they will simply go away once the latest patchset is applied. As for you running Oracle XE, a patchset is not an option, unfortunately.

I wanted to know when the ORA- errors are reported into the alert.log file?
And which tye of errors are reported into it?
And if i wanted to log all the ORA-errors in the alert log then is there any setting for that? You can find the type of errors reported in the link above.
Also, you maynot like to log ORA-00942: table or view does not exist, ORA-00904: : invalid identifier type of errors in alert.log - right? You may want to research at setting up events for generating trace files on specific error numbers you are looking at. That might resolve your problem - hth. -

Terminated with error: <br>REP-56048: Engine rwEng-0 crashed, job Id: 5778
I m unable to trace what is wrong currently i m using report application server 10.1.2.3.0 and delimited as desformat.
I have already used jvmoption and delimiteddata.
but both failed to solve the problem as jvmoption does not work in my case and delimiteddata has expected format problem.I want to use delimited option so what is the problem with engine that it crashes on the few reports.

Do the following:
1. It is necessary to modify the engine definition to include :
jvmOptions="-Xmx512M -Xms128M -Xss512k"
How to do it, depends on the version of Report Server in use :
a. For version 10gR2 (10.1.2.x) :
Backup your Reports server .conf file and Modify the rwEng parameters and add :
jvmOptions="-Xmx512M -Xms128M -Xss512k"
b. For version 11g (11.X), this has to be done through Enterprise Manager. In Enterprise Manager, locate your Report Server and go to "Basic Configuration" page then insert :
-Xmx512M -Xms128M -Xss512k
into the field "JVM Options" and "Apply" your changes.
* The important option is "Xss" that sets the maximum stack size that can be used by C code in a thread.
3. Restart your reports server and try to run again with DESFORMAT=SPREADSHEET
