Hi all,
I have a iAS6.0 sp3 installed in a Sun Solaris Server (3500). My iAS is
works fine, but when I execute a application occurs this:
The iPlanet Application Server at (172.16.1.3, 10818) is not
available.
Check if iAS has been started
The kjs,kxs and kas are work, what happen in my iAS ?

Hi,
Check if the admin server has been started. You can start admin server
through <ias installation directory>/start.admin . I hope it will help. may
be your application server is not running. Start the application server
<ias installation directory>/ias/bin/KIVAes.sh start. Hope it will help.
Let me know if it helps or yo u have still problem with it.

It is possible that your reports server dat file might have gone corrupt However it is too early as well to conclude that without having a detailed look at the reports trace files. Let us know what exactly do you get if you run the same report using rwservlet

JavaHelp error in application server

I have an application web-based, this is a system of help (javaHelp). Build an archive .war and I put in the Tomcat container, all fine. But when I put the same archive in a application server (JBoss) it generated error:

Error installing Application server on Red Hat 8

I am trying to install Application Server but I cant because I get an error message saying the following:
"Error in invoking target install of makefile /opt/oracle/product/ora9ias/sqlplus/lib/ins_sqlplus.mk"

Getting error: Report Application Server failed

I started posting my problem in thread below and have been advised to continue in this forum

My problem occurs in a asp application (vb 2005) and also when I run the Crystal Report stand alone (xi rel 2).
The asp application does not render any other messages than "report Application Server Failed" but running the CR stand alone I get "error formatting cross tab object". Whenver I get this message and if I switch page setting (either from landscape to portrait or portrait to landscope) it work for the report in question.
I have now advanced a little further in trying to solve the issue or at least find what is wrong. I have created a .net windows application where I export the CR to disk

My default page set up is landscape and if I now reverse the page set up like: myCrystalReport1.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Portrait it will let me export.
My windows application exports hundreds of reports in a single run and by toggling between landscape and portrait I manage to get it working when I get an export error (like above).
Was hoping that anyone couldm point me in a good direction, I've been fighting this problems for many days now and I do not have a solution as to why this is happening. Thank you.

The cross-tab reports that are causing this error, do they have any formatting formulas on any of the objects?
Are your using any running totals or setting the Evaluation Time using WhilePrintingRecords?
I've run into this problem with crosstabs when I created a Display String formula using Running Totals.
The report cannot render the report because the running total is conflicting with the results of the crosstab.
When you right-click an object and go to Format Field. In the Common tab if the Display String has a formula set, remove or comment it out. Do this for all the objects and try running the report again.

Try changing the oc4jadmin password:
- stop oc4j
- edit system-jazn-data.xml and replace encrypted pw with !newpassword
- remove cache pw from securestore directory
- start oc4j

Resolve http 500 internal error - Oracle Application Server 10g 10.1.3

I have installed Oracle Application Server 10g 10.1.3 as an Integrated Web Server (+.. J2EE Server, and Process Management ) on windows 2003 (xeon 4 CPUs , 3gz RAM..).
installation was successfully done and i am able to access to Enterprise manager http://localhost/em
i have deployed my oc4j instances and everything is starting fine when i enter opmnctl startall
when i try to login on the application am receiving HTTP 500 - Internal server error from Internet Explorer.
in apache error.log , i have the error "mod_oc4j: Failed to find a failover oc4j process for session request for destination: application://ascontrol (no island or jgroup)."

Error Creating Application Server 10.1.3.1 connection from JDev 10.1.3.1

Hi All,
I have installed OAS 10.1.3 on Linux RH ES 4 and it is running.
But I get error when trying to create Application Server Connection from JDev 10.1.3.1. This is our first time with full version OAS, pls help..
Below is what I did :
On Connection Tab :
Connect To : Single Instance
HostName : Linux2
OPMN Port : 6003
OC4J Instance Name : appserver
When I do Test Connection I get this error :
Error getting OC4J Process for: opmn-appserver+oc4j-linux2.sas.co.id-6003-default:
Error connecting to OPMN (is it running?): Connection refused: connect
I have check with OPMN status on the OAS Server, it is running.
What is wrong here ?

I assume it does work because but I could not get it to work. It may have been my inexperience with the connection settings to the server. There seemed to be a number of methods of deployment and it was unclear what was needed.
Also, when i used the Enterprise Server Control I could see the deployment crashing with out of memory errors.
The Enterprise Server Console link can be found on the home page for the AS eg:
http://your-server.com:7777/
Both the server port and oc4jadmin password would have been specified during the install of the 10G AS. The ESC is also needed for configuring security providers and settings for the OC4J.
If you find you are having memory problems this is the memory configuration fix from the middleware forums:
10.1.3 Apps Server java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space

File Write error in application server

I have checked the program and file path in AUTHORITY_CHECK_DATASET FM.
Everything is ok.
But still I getting an error while uploading data to application server.
My query is, are there any transactions wherein we can view or maintain read / write authorization to a file or directory.

It works with jdk 1.5 corect. With java 1.4.2 try to run oc4j using this command:

But this program keeps runing in the background . whn i try to see process overview thro the transaction SM50, i can still see the program running. Error during Application Server Install

Hi
I get the below error during Infrastructure install as well as Application Server. But if I click ok , it completes the install , not sure whether this is critical issue.
The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL
I am installing this in Windows XP Professional,Service pack2 . I tried installing the same in my laptop with same configuration and I did not get this error. Only difference between my laptop and desktop is , in my laptop I am running IE6.0,where as in desktop I am running IE7.0. I am not sure this is relevent here..
Any assistance would be really helpful

MapViewer11 error on Application Server 9.0.4

Hi,
We deployed mapViewer11 to an application server 9.0.4, we get the following error when we access the new mapviewer home page. However, the old home page works correctly. Since the new interface is JSF based, we upgraded the ADF libraries of the application server to 10.1.2. We still get the same error. Does anybody try that before ?

Hi,
mapVIewer 11g will not run on AS 9.0.4 or even 10.1.2. I dont think the ADF libs are the only cause for the errors; probablly more due to the mismatch of J2EE specs. The minimum required to run mapViewer 11g is AS 10.1.2.0.2, and even on that platform you may see a few errors when navigating the JSF interface. The recommended (and tested) platform is iAS 10.1.3.

Server Error - Macromedia application server(s) are unreachable

For my test environment, I've got a ColdFusion 8 instance
running on Windows 2003 Server. Everything was fine until I
rebooted the server. Then I started getting an error message:

My first thought was an application mapping error or
something happened to the .cfm mappings. Everything checked out
fine though. So I looked in the wsconfig log files and saw this.

could telnet to it. No clue why it couldn't initialize. Any ideas?

From what I can tell, this error displays when the web server connector exists, but JRUN (coldfusion) server is not running.
I have spent 3 days trying to repair this error message on my Windows XP CF9 Standard Edition.We had coincidentally made some network changes which I assumed right away was the culprit. When I would try and start the JRUN server manually (jrun.exe) it would fail and the log would specify an error to the effect of:
"RMI transport layer does not exists." <---- not the whole error. But it should be specific enough for someone else with the same trouble to find.
I deleted the web server connector from wsconfig.exe and tried to re-add it. Which also failed:
"Could not connect to any JRun/ColdFusion servers on host xxxxx.
Possible causes:
-Server not running:
-----Start Macromedia Jrun4 or ColdFusion 9 server
-Server running:
-----JNDI listen port in jndi.properties blocked by TCP/IP filtering or firewall
-----host restriction in security.properties blocking communication with server"
I knew then (since JRun was not running) I wouldn't be able to re-add the connector until I resolved the JRUN "RMI transport layer does not exists" error. After 2 days of unsuccessfully making sure I had done everything I could to allow the ports that JRUN needed, I was still convinced this was a port issue. I also noticed that MSSQL Express (unrelated service) was not starting either. STRANGE!!
Decided to run MalwareBytes and after a "Quick Scan", it did find a few infections. I removed the infections and MalwareBytes requested a reboot, rebooted, and VIOLA!! Working.
If your ColdFusion configuration was working (in my case for at least a year) prior to a reboot, and then suddenly can't start itself, be sure to run a scan to remove any infections. I'm assuming my infection was blocking the ports that JRun needed to startup. Good Day!!!
