i am getting error in mss approval process in uwl process, portal showing the error message like this   webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/paasrformstep/ApproveFormApp

Since you are on ECC EHP4, you will have to use the Webdynpro ABAP application in this scenario.
Please make the necessary changes via transaction SWFVISU or via XML configuration so that you launch the Webdynpro ABAP application instead of the Webdynpro java application.

Now the issue is when i'm launching the My Staff iViews it gives me a message "Could not connect to the R/3 System" . These iViews using the system object "SAP_R3_HumanResources" which has been used by the ESS iViews also. Now ESS iViews are working fine with the same system object but MSS iviews are giving me the error message.
My System landscape :
MSS BP Installed: BPMSS601_19-20001489
R3- 4.6C
Portal : EP6 Sp11
WAS: 6.40
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi all. We're getting a Portal Runtime error in our production environment when trying to view certain MSS iviews, such as Absence Days, Personal Data, Detail View Attendances, Company Properties, Emergency Contact, etc.
The error looks something like,
Portal runtime error.

All MSS iViews, working and not working, are inheriting from the same top level folder. In their permissions is the Everyone group (Administrator=none, End User=checked) and the super_adminstrator_role (Administrator=owner, End User=checked).
Any ideas on what our problem is?

You need to check the permissions of that MSS Iview
Go to the path System Administration>Permisssions,
Go to "pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/srvconfig"
Check whether you have valid permission or not.

JCo error while viewing MSS iviews

Dear SDN Community,
When I am trying to view any of the MSS iViews like photo, orgchart, personal data, I get the following error message.

The JCo connections SAP_R3_HumanResources and SAP_R3_HumanResources_Metadata are tested successfully and I see the gree light for these 2 in the WebDynpro console.

Vivek,
open the services file of your portal server box. This file will be in the location C:\WINDOWS or WINNT\system32\drivers\etc folder. In that enter an entry as below:
sapmsED0 36XX/tcp
where XX is the system no of your R/3 system. So if R/3 system number is 30 the line would be sapmsED0 3630/tcp.
Save the file and then try accessing iView again. This error message would be going off.

Thanks for your repley, I am using the "SAP_R3_HumanResources" as a default alias, The same alias is working fine for my ESS Configuration.
I tried to test connection for the "Connection Test for Connectors" i am getting following error.But Connection test is success for the "ITS Connection"

Portal Run time error in MSS iView

Hi,
I am getting portal run time error in MSS iView when i am navigating MSS>Online form>People related form and clicking on the employee name in the table which has hyper link. How to remove the hyper link from the employee name?
When i am selecting the same employee from radio button and clicking on To Form Selection button ,it's working fine.
Someone can help me to resolve this error.

Error in approve the leave request in MSS

i m new in ESS/MSS.. right now working on maintanance project...All configuration settings are done by other guy. -
I m facing error in approving the leave request in MSS .. it open a error page as of no page found ... can any body tell me the solution of this problem.

Can you check with other user who is having all the roles.
This error has something to do with the roles.navigation is occuring with URL means check the roles or try with other user.
Look into permissions and also in different browser also.
Log file u have to search in OS LEVEL.
Mail meto [email protected] if it doesn,t work and we can try for other ways.

Error while approving work item

Hi All,
I am getting error while approving a claim request; error is:
error while inserting claim record xxxxxxx in cluster for employee xxxxxxxx
This does not happen always, some time I am able to approve and sometime i got the error.
I am using same set of user ids and same perspnal nos; does this thing matters and causing this issue or this should not cause this problem.

Could you please check note number: 1374072 which is for the PY-IN-PS. I don't think that this warning message that you are seeing is applicable to the UWL or generated from the UWL component. Error messages like this are usually generated from the ABAP system and more specifically from the application area. Another hint would be to check ST22 to see if there is a short dump occuring in the backend system.
According to the note, this error will be thrown when:
"Error on Approver Screen stating "Error while inserting claim
record <Reference Number> in cluster for employee <Employee
Number>". This happens only when the approver tries approving the
request almost immediately after the employee has submitted the
request."

Hi ,
One thing i can say is the Null Pointer Exceptin when ther is no value in the field which has been submiited .The code shd be written in the try and catch block so that u can know hwat is the error all about .
just check in the Ui which u have made is the user having data reated to that .

Approve Working in MSS as delegate/substitute

Hello,
We are using MSS in the portla without UWL functionality. Standard the 31000007 workflow sends to the approver a workflow item based on the standard HR hierarchical structure shown in PPOME. The MSS data shown in the Worktime Approval screen is also collected through the standard HR hierarchical structure show in PPOME. We are facing with the fact that when a manager is sick we like that the substitute apporves the hours. We can set a substitute releation with A210/B210 but the following 2 issues are we facing:
1) Cow can in the initial screen the data in the MSS approval screen be shown. Can someone tell me what lines I need to put in OOAW customizing for a new evaluation path and how these paths should be inserted in the MSS Data Object Provider customizing? I don't seem to get it working.
2) We also like that the substitute/delegate receives the worktime of 31000007 in his mailbox. Standard the A210/B210 relation is not taken into account. Is there a way to get this standard working? If not which function module do I need to adjust to determine the receiver?

We use the approval in ESS/MSS Approval Working Time link in the Portal. Not through UWL. We want to set the substitute and the relation A210/B210 is set. In the ESS/MSS Approval Working Time link, when pressed, the hour record are standard loaded/displayed based on the relation A002/B002 for the lower level employees. The A210/B210 releation are not taken into account.
Meaning that the Workflow substituation is set, but the manager needs to go into the inbox for delegate apporval instead of MSS Approval Working Time link so it seems because the hour records based on the relation A210/B210 are not displayed there. So I need on evaluation path in the MSS Data Object provider but I don't seem to get it working. So I was wondering what lines I need to put in OOAW and how to assign this evaluation path in the MSS Data & Object provider customizing so that the hour records A210/B210 are also shown in the MSS Approval Working Time initial screen. I don't seem to get it working. If I get OOAW working with MSS Data & Object Provider customizing then I'm there.

MSS Iview Problem -Any Experts help please

I've configured ESS BP in my Portal successfully and it's running perfectly fine. Now i've imported MSS also without any problems. Now the issue is when i'm launching the My Staff iViews it gives me a message "Could not connect to the R/3 System" . These iViews using the system object "SAP_R3_HumanResources" which has been used by the ESS iViews also. Now ESS iViews are working fine with the same system object but MSS iviews are giving me the error message.
My System landscape :
MSS BP Installed: BPMSS601_19-20001489
R3- 4.6C
Portal : EP6 Sp11
WAS: 6.40
ITS - Standalone ( Not integrated)
when i test my System object for ITS ,it is working fine , but it is failed   for WAS Connection and Connector test
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks for your response, i am getting same error for all iviews.I pointed that there is some problem with my System object, i tried to test connection for the "Connection Test for Connectors" i am getting following error.But Connection test is success for the "ITS Connection"
