Error in ArjunaMs Provider: Could not set up Initial Context

Hi,
I am trying to run the chatdemo example that comes with arjunams using http as the protocol and for that I have changed the file "chatdemo.properties" to this:
java.naming.factory.initial=com.arjuna.ams.client.naming.AMSInitialContextFactory
java.naming.provider.url=ams://server?web#http://localhost:8090/WebConnect/WebConnect
I have already tried running the tomcat server in port 8080 now I am trying it in 8090 and I have WebConnect.war deployed in webapps folder. When I run the chatdemo I get the following error:

What can be the error? Please I need help urgently!!!
Thanks in advance!

Hi RESIDENT2,
First of all, please let me apologise for the delay in response time to your message! Unfortunately it seems as though we missed this one.
Can I suggest to you that the best place to get help with ArjunaMS is from:
http://www.arjuna.com/forum/
As far as your problem is concerned it appears as though you have performed the correct procedures to setup ArjunaMS, if your problem still exists can I ask you to post a complete description of the system as it stands.
NOTE: To check the WebConnect servlet is running you should be able to connect to http://localhost:8090/WebConnect, which should display a welcome page for the servlet. If this welcome screen cannot be seen then the servlet failed to deploy.
Once again, sorry for the delayed response!
Cheers,
Tom

    Hey all, i need help
I have a job which was running quite peacefully for the last EVER, but since last Saturday it keeps failing  and then run successfully and then fails. . . . .and gives me the below error.
Executed as user: Sx\xxx. Microsoft (R) SQL Server Execute Package Utility  Version 10.0.5500.0 for 64-bit  Copyright (C) Microsoft Corp 1984-2005. All rights reserved.    Started:  9:00:00 PM  Progress: 2014-03-11

I have already tested the linked server connection between those servers and its fine. And what is weird is that when i run the job manually it runs successfully.
      Any ideas?

    Hi,
How often does the job run? Does the query fail intermittently?
I suggest you check the following configuration on both servers:
    1. In SQL Server Configuration Manager, expand SQL Server Native Client Configuration, right-click
Client Protocols, and then click Properties. What’s the order of protocol?
    2. Check if the default port of TCP/IP  is set to 1433.
By default, the top protocol is to use TCP/IP and then Named Pipes. There are two possible situations:
    1. Connection fails and client protocol is using TCP/IP 1433.
When server A remotes to server B, it will use TCP/IP connection. If it encounters some issue during connecting (such as network issues), it will use Named Pipes instead. If the Name Pipes 445 still fails, thus the above error message will
be thrown out. It will use Name Pipes afterwards until the SQL Server service is restarted.
    2. The port number is not 1433.
However, the remote machine is listening 1433. Then, the linked server will trying to use TCP/IP first. Because of the port error, it will change to Name Pipes.
    Thanks.

  • Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [2]

    Hi
I'm a complete sql/asp.net newbie and want to try this tutorial:
    http://beta.asp.net/GuidedTour/
    First I installed:
Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition Beta 2
systemsettings\software shows the "sql server 2005 express edition ctp (sqlexpress)" installed
mmc\service shows me the SQL Server (SQLExpress) is running
Following the guided tour I use the commandline, type cmd, and type in the commandbox:
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\binn\SQLCMD90" -S "localhost\SqlExpress"
Instead of localhost I also tried computername.smallbusiness.local (thats my fully domain name).
However I always receive the error:
Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [2]
Thank you very much for all your help

Typically I have found problems with connection strings as one of a few things:
    1. Your instance is named different than the default.  I labeled mine BrettSQLServer instead of the regular instance.
    2. Your default storage of the your database has a user the system does not like and won't give it access.
    3. You have ports blocked that SQL Server is trying to access.
    1. Your instance should show up under 'SQL Server Configuration Manager'.  Start>MS SQL Server 2008 > Configuration Tools> SQL Server Configuration Manager.  You should see a left view panel where you can click 'SQL Server Services'.  This
will show on the right all of your SQL services that are running.  The most important one is SQL Server({Your SQL Server Name}).  You will see column headers's displaying: "Name, State, Start Mode, Log on as,  ProcessID" by default.  If
you don't see a version of this you may have no installed SQL server properly and gotten SQL management studio but not the server.  If you have the server and it's off or not running that is another problem.  If your "LOG On AS" is a service account
is "NT ...." or something besides "Local System" that may be a problem.  Without getting into the symantecs of protection suffice to say you log in with less than system, yes you are more secure but some built in functions for connections may not work.
    2. Going off of rights of your 'Log On As' I WOULD USE 'System' NOT "NT Authority....".  The reason is that you can access less things with 'NT Authority....' but yes you are more secure for that reason.  If you are just trying to connect at home
to test non secure things I don't see the harm.  If you are setting up a database for a multinational corporation than, Yes I would use a more secure account.  If you need to change it while still in SQL Server Confi Manager: Right Click> SQL
Server(Your Version) > On 'Log On' tab > Choose drop down for 'Built-in Account' select 'Local System'.  As extra steps make sure by some strange reason your database locales have this user by default(They should).  MS likes to install database
as default to: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.{instanceName}\MSSQL.  If you go to this location by going: right click>Properties>Security Tab .. and you fail to see your user that SQL server is defined as you may have lots of
    issues.
    3. Turn off Windows Firewall during SQL installation.  If you are scared of being attacked during this down window, disconnect your NIC and reconnect later.  I have not added a port manually in a while but it is simply easier to just
turn off your firewall during install.  Having your TCP/IP connection from SQL Server blocked is kind of bad if you need to connect to it that way later.
Problems most commonly encountered with SQL Server by users I have seen and I myself encountered a lot with full blown SQL Server Enterprise as well as Express versions of SQL:
Connection string DO not work for BIDS, ADO.net, Linq, etc...
Once you follow steps above just go {ComputerName}\{SQL Server Instance} as your connection name.   That mostly always works.  As a preliminary test you should install SQL Management Studio first before doing connection strings for a basic test
that it can access your server.  When you first boot it up and click 'New Database Engine Query' it will display Server Type: "Database Engine" and a blank field or autopopulated field for 'Servername'.  The {ComputerName}\{SQL Server Instance} almost
always works.  If it works and you can connect, you know that you have access, if you don't start there first before getting into connection strings through .NET languages.   I suggest just adding an easy alias, my local SQL box is simply called
'Brett'.  Go again back to SQL Server Configuration Manager.  On the left side click 'SQL Native Client ...' > 'Aliases' > New > type in whatever you want.  Go back to the left pane click on 'SQL Server Services' ensure the service
'SQL Server Browser' is running and set to run automatic.  Have fun accessing SQL Server with your alias.
Help I can't get FileStream to work and I ran 'spconfigure' in SQL and it still doesn't work.
Kind of annoying that more sites don't list that it is entirely in the Configuration manager and has zilch to do with setting the option if the config has it off.  I am not a master of the sp_configure TSQL access method but I know during installs turning
it on fails to REALLY turn it on.  Once again go to SQL Config Manger > SQL Server Services > Right click your instance > Select FILESTREAM tab > enable both check boxes.  Restart SQL Server.  Install Adventureworks 2008 and whatever
else failed due to filestream access levels.

  • Error trying to run SSIS Package via SQL Server Agent: DTExec: Could not set \Package.Variables[User::VarObjectDataSet].Properties[Value] value to System.Object

    Situation:
SSIS Package designed in SQL Server 2012 - SQL Server Data Tools
    Windows 7 - 64 bit.
The package (32 bit) extracts data from a SQL Server db to an Excel Output file, via an OLE DB connection.
    It uses 3 package variables:
*) SQLCommand (String) to specify the SQL Statement to be executed by the package
    Property path: \Package.Variables[User::ExcelOutputFile].Properties[Value]
    Value: f:\Output Data.xls
*) EXCELOutputFIle (String) to specify path and filename of the Excel output file
    Property path: \Package.Variables[User::SQLCommand].Properties[Value]
    Value: select * from CartOrder
*) VarObjectDataSet (Object) to hold the data returned by SQL Server)
    Property path: \Package.Variables[User::VarObjectDataSet].Properties[Value]
    Value: System.Object
It consists out of 2 components:
*) Execute SQL Task: executes the SQL Statement passed on via a package variable. The resultng rows are stored in the package variable VarObjectDataSet
*) Script Task: creates the physical output file and iterates VarObjectDataSet to populate the Excel file.
Outcome and issue:The package runs perfectly fine both in SQL Server Data Tools itself and in DTEXECUI.
However, whenever I run it via SQL Server Agent (with 32 bit runtime option set), it returns the errror message below.
This package contains 3 package variables but the error stating that a package variable can not be set, pops up for the VarObjectDataSet only.  This makes me wonder if it is uberhaupt possible to set the value of a package variable
    of type Object.
Can anybody help me on this please ?

    Hi Visakh,
    thank you for your reply.
So, judging by your reply, not all package variables used inside a package need to be set a value for when run in DTEXEC ?
I already tried that but my package ended up in error (something to do with "... invocation ...." and that error is anything but clearly documented. Judging by the error message itself, it looks like it could be just about anything. that is why I asked my
first question about the object type package variable.
Now, I will remove it from the 'set values' list and try another go cracking the unclear error-message " ... invocation ...". Does an error message about " ... invocation ..." ring any bells, now that we are talking about it here ?
    Thx in advance
    Jurgen
    Yes exactly
You need to set values only forthem which needs to be controlled from outside the package
Any variable which gets its value through expression set inside package or through a query inside execute sql task/script task can be ignored from DTExec
Ok I've seen the invocation error mostly inside script task. This may be because some error inside script written in script task. If it appeared after you removed the variable then it may because some reference of variable existing within script task.

  • Workflow Error Message: System Account - The Workflow could not set Content Approval Status

This is the first time I try an approval workflow. I am using a template in MS Word and assigned an approval workflow to it. The approval workflow is only going to one person in this case.
When I start the work flow the following 3 error messages show up:
Workflow Error Message: System Account - The Workflow could not set Content Approval Status. Enable content moderation for this list and run the workflow again.
Workflow Error Message: System Account - The e-mail message cannot be sent. Make sure the e-mail has a valid recipient.
Workflow Error Message: System Account - The e-mail message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing e-mail settings for the server are configured correctly.
Thank you for your kind guidance.

    Hi,
For the first error: Did you set Content Approval in the workflow?  If so, see if you have it in the versioning settings of the list settings.
For the second error: double check your recipient is set up as being valid.  Did you type in the email address or is it referring to a people picker field?  also, make sure that in the workflow for the email that you actually populated it in the
    To: field.
for the third error: I suspect that either your farm is not configured for email.  Or, this error is a knock on from the second error.  If you get the second error rectified it may clear this error.  If not then double check the email settings
    for your farm.

  • DBD: Error while trying to load the transport provider for odbc. Failed to load the library. System error: The specified module could not be found.

    Hello Everyone,
We are getting an error while trying to create an Universe via Microsoft -> MS Analysis Services 2014 -> OLEDB for OLAP Provider under Connection in UDT -"DBD: Error while trying to load the transport provider for odbc. Failed to load the library. System error: The specified module could not be found."  We have installed BI 4.1 SP05 in our system. As per earlier posts in scn in BO XI 3.x this issue used to be for improper installation of Integration KIT but in our scenarion Integration KIT is within the BO 4.1 package so no seperate installation is required. Moreover I have checked whether all the driver is present under file: "C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\dataAccess\connectionServer\drivers" and seems everything is fine. But still I am getting this error. One important point is we could use IDT because in IDT still we don't have option to connect with 'Microsoft Analysis Services - 2014 (XMLA)' as we are using Microsoft Analysis Services 2014 version.
Kindly help if anyone has faced the same problem with SAP BO 4.1.
    Thanks and Best Regards,

    Hello Everybody,
The problem is solved now after installing "OLEDB drivers from SQL Server 2012 Feature Pack". We had OLEDB drivers that comes directly from SQL Server but that did not worked out in our case.
    Thanks for your support.

  • [Apache 2] Critical error mod_rewrite: Could not set permissions on rewrite

    Hi,
Well I had a look around to this problem and it seems it is specific to mac os system on intel machines, so I send my post here.
I had installed the apache 2 server from www.serverlogistics.com and it seems to start. However it is impossible to log into my local website with an error in my web browser "can't log to "localhost" server".
By reading the logs I got in /Library/Apache2/logs/error_log (where there is also a httpd.pid file): [crit] (14)Bad address: mod_rewrite: Could not set permissions on rewriteloglock; check User and Group directives Configuration Failed
So, I commented the line "LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so" in /Library/Apache2/conf/httpd.conf with no efffect at all.
Then I don't know what to do.... any idea please ?
NB : I did not configure or set any htaccess file in any directory.

    Hi,
Well, I had tried several ways among others MAMP. With, MAMP, I experienced some problems running MySQL and or Apache server.
If you'd like help, you need to describe the specific problems you're having. You're not giving people here much to go on in order to be able to help. Without knowing what you've already tried, and what the results were, it's impossible to say if you've just made a simple mistake or if you've truly hit upon something that won't work. The Apache logs are especially helpful, with lots of detailed information to help in troubleshooting.
To say the true, I bought this Macbook because the system kernel is 100% compatible with Linux, and I was full of naives hopes, thinking that I will install/compile easily softwares that are usual under Linux world.....
I certainly haven't had much problem compiling and installing software that's distributed as source code, though I haven't tried to compile Apache. While it's true that much of the software will compile, it's also true that you might have to make some small changes here and there to the source code to get it to work correctly. But you might also have to do the same thing to get them to compile on different Linux distributions. So OS X isn't that different in that respect.
If you want to get Apache 2 running with MAMP, post back with specific information on what problems you had and I'll try to help. I've been hacking at Apache installations for many years now, so if I know the problems you're having, there's a good chance I've been through them, too.

  • SQL Server Agent - [165] ODBC Error: 0, Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [2]. [SQLSTATE 08001]

    Hi,
    I keep receiving the error below in the SQL Server Agent Error Log;
[165] ODBC Error: 0, Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [2]. [SQLSTATE 08001]
It is occurring approximately 20 times an hour and i cannot link it to any job failures. All jobs on the same SQL instance are working.
The server is a clustered server and there are no errors occuring in the SQL Server error log at the same time. I have attempted to trace using profiler looking for errors and warnings but anything that does occur doesn't seem to correspond to the reported
times of the errors within the sql agent error log.
Please could someone point me where to look next?
    Many thanks.

Please may I add that this is on a SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise edition patched to 10.50.1600.
Nah, that server is not patched at all, because 10.50.1600 is the RTM version. Find Service Pack 2 and install at the next maintenance window, after having performed tests according to your local policy.
It is not going to resolve your particular problem though.
It seems like you have a job that attempts to a connect to s server that is down or non-existing. The job may be configured to return success also on failures. I would check if there are jobs that target other servers.

It doesn't work. System configurations are,
-> system with out build-in harddisk
-> there were 3 disks from SAN
-> you can see that disks 0, 1 and 2 are configured in diskconfiguration section.
After constructing new COEM with this answer file, when i boot the system via DVD disk, in some point in time, i get the following exception:
    the
target disk, partition or voume doesnot support the specified operations.
    The
error occured while applying the unattended answer file's <DiskConfiguration> setting. Error code 0x80300024
    any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

  • Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server

We are running into an error on a SQL request from SQL-IDA to the SQL-IDB server. Both servers are on Windows 2005 with MS SQL Server 2003 SP3.
OLE DB provider "SQL-IDA" for linked server "SQL-IDB" returned message "Login timeout
    expired".
OLE DB provider "SQL-IDA" for linked server "SQL-IDB" returned message "An error has
occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005,
this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not
    allow remote connections.".
    Msg 53, Level 16, State 1, Line 0
Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [53].
It seems to suggest that SQL-IDA cannot find the network path to SQL-IDB. We've followed the steps in this article http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;914277 but it did not resolve our issue. Is it possible that the MSDTC dynamic port range
should be set to a specific range on both servers?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Albert

    Hi Albert,
Can you try to use the SQL Server Management Studio on server ‘SQL-IDA’ to connect to the instance on server ‘SQL-IDB’ to see if it works or not?
There are possible reasons to error 53:
     a) typo in the server name, or using "/" rather than "\" between server name and instance name, e.g. "myserver/myinst" is not correct.
     b) name resolution to the server name is not correct, "ping -a yourserver" would tell if that's the case
     c) The server machine is firewall'ed and file sharing is not in the exception list. You need put "File and Printer Sharing" in exception.

  • Error - A valid installer could not be found, using AAMEE and CS6

I receive the error - A valid installer could not be found, when using AAMEE 3.0 to create a CS6 Trial Package in Windows 7.  I'm following the procedure documented here - http://blogs.adobe.com/oobe/tag/cs6 Imaging CS6-Attack of the Clones.  I've tried both pointing at the DVD and pointing to a local folder, after copying the DVD to a local folder and copying the \payloads folder from the second DVD.  I know the DVD is valid because I did a manual installation.  I'm pointing at the folder that contains the Set-up.exe file, plus I've tried pointing at every other folder as well, with no success.  I have a 40 user license for CS6 Master Collection for a classroom on our campus.  I need to create a image for this classroom, and was thrilled that a solution was being provided to accomodate this, but AAMEE does not work!  I'm working in a Windows 7 environment.
On top of this frustration, my Adobe ID is not working, I've used "chat" support and phone support and I can still not log in.  They claim it has been escalated.  When I explained the AAMEE error to the phone support rep, he informed me that there was no technical support and my only option was to post the question on the forum...but you have to log in with your Adobe ID to post a question!  Round and round it goes.  So I had to create another ID under a different email, just to post my question.  I'm getting the mystery "an error has occurred, please try again", when I try to log in with my work Adobe ID.
    Help! Anyone?

RESOLVED - Thanks in part to the ALBERT-in-Vancouver and Tushar Bammi thread concerning a similar problem.  I dissected the PDApp.log.  I had copied the installation DVDs to a local folder per the Deployment Guide, when installing from the DVD initially failed.  But, PDApp.log stated - EnterpriseNativeApplet Individual media disks on fixed volumes are not supported, please use CD/DVD or mounted ISO/DMG media.  That clued me in to trying to create the MSI using the DVDs again.  My fault - that the original attempts to create the MSI from the DVDs did not work, I didn't realize I needed to run AAMEE with elevated privileges.  Note - the earlier attempts when I was running AAMEE with elevated privileges and pointing to the locally copied installation files, failed.  Interesting.  I'm confused as to why the Deployment Guide directed my to create a product-install folder...
I haven't tested the MSI file yet, but if I have additional problems I will start a new thread.
    Thanks.

  • Could Not Set Up Apple Pay

Can't seem to setup apple pay. Have tried both in settings and passbook. I get the same error.
"Could Not Set Up Apple Pay
An error occurred while setting up Apple Pay"
Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I have re started the phone twice, nothing. Same error. Can't get pass the "Add Credit or Debit Card" link.
    Thanks!

I have two different email addresses for my iCloud and iTunes accounts, and the email I used for my iCloud was never set up for iTunes. After I signed out my iTunes account and signed in using the same email as my iCloud account, I was finally able to set up Apple Pay. I can see this can be a common problem for many people like me, Apple needs to provide an update to fix this bug.

  • DPM 2012 R2 UR4 - DPM could not set security permissions on the replica or recovery point volume that was created.

    Hi All,
I am running a fresh install of SCDPM 2012 R2 with a protection group that is backing up the 'C:\', Bare Metal and System State of some VMs. If i add any additional servers to the group since the first creation it returns the following error:
Modify protection group: System State & Bare Metal Recovery failed:
Error 419: DPM could not set security permissions on the replica or recovery point volume that was created.
Error details: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
Recommended action: Review the error details, take appropriate action and retry the operation.
If i re-create the whole protection group it works fine.
Could any one advise any further diagnostics I can do to try and locate the reason behind not being able to modify the group after the first creation? I can add new servers to other PGs without any issues.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dan

If you are protecting any of the system state/BMR protection. Can you stop protection by deleting the older recovery points and then recreate the protection group.
This thread mentions this to be a hardware issue, albeit with less information on what exact hardware issue:

I get this error upon launching PS5: "could not open a scratch file because the file is locked or ou do not have the necessary access privileges. Use the 'properties' command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file". The applicaiton will not launch.
Supporting information - I recently changed the scratch disk from C drive to D drive (the back up/restore drive). The application wont launch so I cant change it back to the C drive.
