Error in background on GUI_UPLOAD.

Hi,
If i run a report in background which contains the function module : GUI_UPLOAD it is getting the error message as 'Error uploading C:\Documents and Settings\...' .
do the gui_upload wont execute in background?.
Please suggest.

The GUI Upload and GUI download FMs are used only when the program is executed in the foreground only.
If we have to use the GUI download in the background u have to first create a program such that the file from the presentation server is trannsferred to the application server through the help of the dataset statements.
Then on onwards your program would be executed in the background succesfully.

Stalling:Error in background rendering so switching to foreground rendering after 0 frames completed

Our facility is running AE CS6 ver 11.0.0.378 on 8 core Mac Pros with 32 Gb ram running OSX10.6.8
using Thinkbox Deadline 5.2 for distributed rendering to other 8 Core Mac Pros with 32 Gb ram.
The issue is that we are in crunch mode trying to deliver 4K comps (soon to be 8k comps) and we are experience substantial
delays 10-20 minutes after the AERENDER starts, but before it starts doing any fruitful rendering.
We are reading from and writing to Quicktime movie files (which normally works just fine for us) and thus the entire frame range needs
to get computed on a single host.
The symptom is that many comp jobs (but not all) stall for a while with no apparent actibity before spitting this messgage, but then happily
and swiftly complete each frame in a second or less with no errors:

Given that the delay, seems to be related to the number of frames (350 frames creates a 10 min stall and 576 frames creates a 20 minute stall), it seems like it's trying to do something for every frame in background mode, before it gives up and does them quickly
in foreground mode. During this time, there doesn't seem to be any signficant CPU or Network or IO activity. I looked for command line args that might force AERENDER to foreground mode, but didn't find anything.

We're under the gun to get this production delivered, and these delays are killing us. I worry when we switch to 8K comps
that the "fruitless delay time" will just get longer.
I'm currently trying to correlate the plug-in assortments in effect for the shots that exhibit this behaviour. Clearly in "foreground mode" the machines are capable of rendering the shot quickly.   We've speculated, that posibly some plugins may be GPU or OpenGL accelerated (these machines have ATI Radeon HD 5770 cards) despite the fact that AERENDER probably doesn't require special graphics cards).
Anyone have any ideas, especially if there is some way for force the foreground mode from the start?

Just to follow up, Our compositing supervisor was still convinced that running with MP was the way to go, so I worked
with him to run some benchmarks on medium and heavy shots that we determinied would trigger the issue in -MP mode.
The test scene was about 50 frames in length, and we ran it on the same hosts with -MP on and -MP off, and also ran a
version of bundled frames (10 frames per host/task) and another where we did all 50 frames on a single host (with and without MP).
Interestingly, in every scenerio of these 4 cases, the version with -MP on, was 2-15% faster (despite the 10-11 minute delay at the start in MP mode).
His conclusion was it's still faster with -MP mode ON, and requested that I continue to explore for patches or theories how we might get around the delay.

Error in background process.

I have a report that lets you choose between executing in background or not. As far as I see, in both cases the same subroutines are executed, though if you choose to execute directly a list is shown on screen and you are asked to push exec to have the last part of the program executed.
I am getting an error when choosing background, and so far I get a time-out error whenever I try to debug.
Is it possible that a variable is not being cleared because the process is in background?

Did you mean to say 'last part' of the program is executed after pressing button on application toolbar?
So even if you execute in background the list should appear and after that you need to see what the program is doing,

Error in background job for VT04 - RV56TRGN

Hello!
The selection criteria is fine - we want every shipping point to be used to create every variant. We also have TPPs mirroring the plant codes. The job log sepects some deliveries which are good and tries to process them - the endlogue is it found X no. of deliveries, processed them but did not write the shipment to the data base. Digging further, it shows the error - <u>the system cound not determine the TPP for the plant in the delivery line item.</u>
When I look at the variant, it doesn't talk of the TPP at all - only the shipping point and all the other criteria mainly associated with the deliveries and their statuses. I am wondering how the system knows which TPP to use for each shipping point when no TPP is assiged in the variant? Is this a default configuration I am missing? Or something else? Appreciate any leads...

PS: In addition to creating the shipments, we also need to make their status to 'complete' in the background job as it is a purely non value added activity for us but we need the shipments for the cost documents. Any ideas how I can go about that?

Error in background job while running FTP_CONNECT

the ftp server is not connected throwing an error message ''Attempt to set up connection to <ftpserver> failed''.
I am using the RFC destination SAPFTPA and still it is not working!
My program was successfully executing in fore ground with SAPFTP.

Error in Background Job Processing.

Dear All,
         I am using a background job for processing the outbound delivery.
         In the user exit in delivery program I am checking for the combination of
         ship to party, Material & Batch of outbound delivery in a ztable. If the combination exists in
         Ztable I do not want to save & ignore this delivery creation and continue with the next
         delivery order creation thru the batch job.
         However I need to give an error / warning message for the delivery orders
         which are not created so I am giving the error message as success message
         in the below format :-

Check system log and also check work process trace, to know the error.
I feel that it could be Authorization issue, you don't have sufficient authorization to do.

Spool error for background job

Hi All,
I have scheduled one job in sap for a report.I have made a distribution list via tcode SO01.
I have given this distribution list to the SPOOL RECEPIENT section in SM 36.
The job is running successfully but is giving the following error and not sending emails to the distribution list.
The error is :-
"Spool list of step 1 could not be sent due to error 7".
Does anybody has any idea about this error?
Please help its a production issue.

Reason and Prerequisites
1. The jobs in question have recipient references in table TBTCO but these have no equivalent in the Business Object Repository.
2. An error occurs when sending in the spool or in the Sapconnect layer.
Solution
This note does not provide a direct solution to the problem but it does provide a source code enhancement that you can use to create more trace information about the cause of the error. When you copy and execute a job with spool list recipients, trace messages are output when errors occur.
After implementing the correction instructions, use transaction SE91 to create the following message:
Message class: BT
Number: 347
Text: Spool list of step &1 could not be sent due to error &2.
In detail, the error numbers mean:
1 = Spool request does not exist (or no longer exists)
2 = Spool request does not contain any data
3 = Empty page area selected
4 = No authorization to send the request
5 = Access to the spool request is not possible

Batch Input error in background in fb05

Hi All
I am trying to clear vendor open items for document numbers from BSIK table.
i am doing this using fb05 transaction, checking the 'post with clearing' option.
The program creates a batch input session.
When i process the session in foreground, the vendor document is cleared and a new clearing document is posted.
However, if i try to process the session in background , we get the error "Difference too large for clearing". The error is shown in program SAPMF05A and screen number 700. Whereas, my recording does not have this screen number .
Even when i anlyze the session screen flow, i do not see this screen number.
Any pointer on the issue shall be of great help.

Could it be that the items are activated by default in foreground mode , and deactivated in the background mode?

Segmentation error in background

Hello,
We have a problem creating a target group after a patch upgrade.
We want to create a target group using the infoset CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE. The filter that we apply is +1d.
If we built the TG in background, we are getting the error "Business partner does not exist" for all the partners in the TG. On the other
hand, if we take a look at the error, the number of partners that we are obtaining is correct. The program that generates the errors is
CRM_MKTTG_TG_BUILD.
But if we built the TG directly, not in background, we are getting no errors and everything looks good.
As I said, we are getting this error after a pacth upgrade.
In the attachment you have the result of what I comment. The first implementation has been online, and the second is the background and everyone has returned error "The business partner does not exist."

From the screenshot I see that you are using the segment builder applet. May I know what version of CRM are you using. When you say patch upgrade, to which patch level have you upgraded.
What ever you are trying to do here appears to be standard. I would suggest you to open a SAP Message for this issue .

Normally this problem will occur from Basis side,
you better to contact basis guys,
They will schedule the background jobs, some time it will run into one group, if any problem with that group, this problem will occur. You better to talk them they will tell the where the problem.

SAP mail not received for transfer order errors in background

Hi All,
We need to set up automated mails to SAP inbox in case there is any error during automatic TO creation in the background. The customizing for this has been done. Now in OMKX for MAIL messages we have two options, either tick the document user or put a user id in the recepient field. If I put a user id in the recepient field the user gets the job spool in the inbox everytime the job is run. However when the 'document user' box is checked it does not send the notification to the inbox of the user who had created the material document when there is some error in the TO creation background job. The mail control indicator 'A' has been set up in OMKX under both MAIL messages and movement types. Am I missing some setting? Note that auto TO creation is successfully happening in background so all its relevant settings are in place.

I have a report which modifies the contract, source list etc., if I run it in foreground it updates and download data into application server properly. but when i m running in background it is getting cancelled and it throws the following error message "System error (error in method if_purchase_out_header~post)".
Please let me know why this is happening.

BDC FOR VL02N FOR Batch DETERMINATION --ERROR IN BACKGROUND

HI,
I am running a BDC in Background Mode for VL02N Transaction for Batch Determination. When i run this BDC in Foreground its working Fine, But when i use Background Mode its not working.
Error in Messtab : LIPS-POSNR(1).
Flow is like : Vl02n - enter delivery..then select a material in that delivery and click on batchdetermination.
So its giving me error in LIPS-POSNR(1).
Can u suggest something..

Check whether proper ok-code has been assigned to the line to be selected in back ground, in foreground as there is always a manual intervention,we will never come to know these kind of trivial issues,

SRM 7.0 - RBDAPP01 error in background elaboration

Hi all,
we have a problem with the program RBDAPP01 (background mode) only with the shopping cart from Germany.
In the spool of the elaboration we have the message BBP_PD 001 "Buffer table not up-to-date" but in foreground mode we don't receive any message. Are not present errors in ST22. It's not possible to reply the case in quality.
Any idea?
