We are Facing a problem when we use the event poll table to purge the cache using OBIEE (10.1.3.4.1). The Oracle BI Server goes down for the polling frequency that has been set. However when we use the same with OBIEE 10.1.3.4.0, the purging happens without any problems.

I get a bunch of these Cache Errors. Happens with application only, its blackboard hosted by continuinged.uml.edu.
Run the same thing using IE it has no problems. Firefox till the latest upgrade was also working fine.
What can I do to resolve this problem?There's a bug in 3.6.14 with Java applets. 3.6.15 was released last Friday to fix that bug. Use '''Help > Check for Updates''' to start the update process to 3.6.15.

here i am having one doubt .. in my rpd , i am having two tables which are using in 4 catalogs . so.. my doubt is .. how should i came to know the table has come from particular catalog .. then i should i populated the catalog names in backend table ..

To purge the cache automatically you have to set the cache persistent time in the tables present in the physical layer. There you can mention the time after which you want to purge the cache. The steps are provided below:
1. Double click on the table in the physical layer.
2. Select the General tab.
3. Select the Cacheable option.
4. Select the Cache Persistent time.
5. Specifiy the time interval when you need the cache to be refreshed.
You have to do the same for all tables for which you want to purge the cache

Using nqcmd command to purge cache

in OBIEE11G, I need to use nqcmd command to purge cache,
in server I run below commond:
nqcmd -d coreapplication_OH1568635987 -u weblogic -p weblogic1 -s C:\purgecache.txt
in purgecache.txt is following command:
call sapurgeallcache()
it's ok in server,
now I want to run this command in other machine,like I want to use informatica to invoke this commant to purge cache in schedule time.

Agents can be controlled using reports(analysis in 11g). There is a Condition tab while creating agents which can be used to control agents based on output of the report.
Lets say u create a dummy report. In that you are putting some dummy column. In the Edit formula dialog, use the TIMESTAMPDIFF function to compare your etl_end_time and current_time.
Lets say you are setting the TIMESTAMPDIFF function to return the difference in minutes. Then create a filter on this column with operator as greater than or equal to and value as say 1 minute( this is ur choice)
So this report will now return true when the difference between the time stamps is greater than 1 minute (which means it will become true 1 minute after the etl is over). Suppose you configure the agent to check the condition every 1 minute then at one point when the agent runs, this report will return true and agent is triggered
This agent will then call you purge command
You can of course add another filter to the dummy report as less than or equal to 5 minutes because the timestamp difference of the current time and the previous etl runs will also be greater than 1 minute ;) So to make sure only the latest etl end time is used you can add a second filter as just said.

Error when running a script using upsshell.exe
I have a simple custom script which is

Does your application function correctly when running the LabVIEW operator interface you have created as a VI in the LabVIEW development environment (i.e. does this problem only occur when the LabVIEW operator interface is run as an executable)?
What is the error that you are receiving?
Regarding the VI that you open programmatically, do you open it in a visible manner (i.e. use the Show front panel when called option from VI Properties)?If so, do you also close this VI after it finishes (i.e. use the Close if originally closed option from VI Properties)?
Does the error occur on the step that calls this very same VI again later in the sequence?
Does your application function correctly if you use the development adapter for all of your calls?

Currently, I am developing a powershell script for Flex build automation.
I found some problem and have been trying to search any references and tried any ways to fix it but It did not work.
I am using compc.exe for compiling the libraries and it works fine.
I compiled css files into swf files using mxmlc.exe and it works fine.
However, I have a problem while building my main application (mxml file).
It complains about embedded resources.
I run this command, it works fine:

However, when I tried to run these command on cmd for testing:

Does anyone know how flex builder resolve the relative path to make the embedded resources work? or how to fix this?
I've been trying to work on it for days but haven't had any luck.

make sure you are using 32 bit Java JDK. Check that your systems variables CLASSPATH, JAVA_HOME are pointing to correct 32 bit Java JDK folder (e.g. CLASSPATH=C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.8.0_25 and JAVA_HOME=C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.8.0_25). Also make sure you have 32 bit Java JDK's "bin" folder in your system's variable PATH. -
Cache purging in RPD using Event polling table
Hi All,
We have a star schema implemented with few dimension tables and one fact. I am trying to implement Cache management using Event Polling table concept.
During validation,
1. Created and ran an adhoc user report
2. Inserted a record in event polling table with one of dimension table(not fact) of star schema used in adhoc reporting.
3. Cache in the RPD doesn't get purge.
Also i have tried validating by inserting a Fact table in Event polling table for which cache gets purged in the RPD within certain interval of time.
Please help , why dimension tables inserted in Event Polling table and the corresponding RPD query is not getting purged.

LonaDI can't help you with why this happens, but we experience the same behavior in our environment. I've always chalked it up to either bad design in the cache polling feature or a bug.
To work around this, in the past we've used one of these two solutions -- (1) Schedule a daily cron job to clear the entire cache sometime after your nightly ETL refresh usually completes (2) Have your nightly ETL refresh trigger a clear of the entire cache as the last thing it does. This way, your cache is cleared for most queries on a fact by fact basis, and the dimension-only queries (and anything else left over) get cleared at the end.
If you figure out a way to do this via the event polling, I'd love to hear it.

The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem. -
How to set up automatic cache purge
I am using the event polling table for setting up automatic cache purging.
I have created a table 'event polling table' in the database with the following fields:
CATALOGNAME
DATABASENAME
OTHER
SCHEMANAME
TABLENAME
UPDATETIME
UPDATETYPE
LOAD_ID
with TABLENAME, UPDATETIME, UPDATETYPE as non-nullable fields.
Then I have imported the table to the physical layer of the rpd, set up 'Oracle BI Event tables' in the Utilities as this table and set up a polling frequency of 15min.
I have created a report with 2 columns (DeptID, Saleamt) from 2 tables (Department, Sales) respectively. Both these tables were made 'cacheable' in the physical layer with cache never expires. Now the saved report is ran by logging in once again. So a cache entry is registered. My NQSCONFIG file enables cache.
I have added these 2 tables to the event polling table after the cache entry was registered. Technically after 15min, this cache should be purged automatically as the request created was from these 2 tables. But that does not happen. Even after half hr when I log in and run this report a cachehit occurs as cache still persists. My cache folder is the C:\OracleBIData\cache. I also check entries in the Repository (Manage ->cache).
Please let me know where am I making a mistake.
My goal is to get cache purged automatically every time there's an entry in the EPT. (To test when I create an entry in the EPT, I give the tablename and updatetype (=1), the updatetime is obtained automatically as sysdate.

As the event polling table gets a row added for each table whose data is updated at the end of each ETL run, when exactly does the BI server purges cache related to that table - As soon as the polling happens and it finds a new record in your table
Lets say I set up a polling frequency (in Tools -> Utilities -> Oracle BI Event Tables) to every 60 minutes. At the end of every 60 minutes does the BI server restart by itself or does the polling take place without restart. - Polling takes place only when the server is up (there is no need to restart)
At the end of every 60 minutes does the BI server poll the event polling table whether or not any new rows are added to it? -(Yes )
What exactly happens when a new record is added to the event polling table in the database. - (The cache is purged )
If at the end of the ETL run data in 3 tables has changed, would 3 records be added to the event polling table in the database. - (yes , after the polling happens)

Another way you can set it up is to create a batch file which would purge a table as its updated (use a procedure to capture the tables which have a value of 1 for update_type or use triggers to populate a table with these table names ) ...once purged you can set up your cache by using ibots (use javascripts) .

Copying an app from one server to another using HfmCopyApplication.exe
Hi,
I am trying to copy an HFM application from Production Instance to DR Instance using HfmCopyApplication.exe.
I have added the Hyperion product folder of DR to the network of production so that I can select the Destination database connection file while running HfmCopyApplication.exe.
While running the HfmCopyApplication.exe as I select the MS_SQL_SERVER_hfm.udl for the destination and click Next I get an error.
The SQL Server database for DR instance is located in a different server and therefore it is not being able to connect it seems.
The error that I am getting says : "Failed to connect to the destination database using the UDL provided!"
"SQL Error : [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen(Connect()).]SQL Server doesnot exist or access denied."
Please suggest how to resolve this issue.

SuchismitaIt seems UDL cannot connect to the target database.
You can do the following check:
1. Ping DR database server from Prod App Server. If ping is ok, it means the network between Prod and DR is ok.
2. Check DR database is started.
