Error in char. Info Object

I have created the char . info object and in attributes gave the same char. and made it as navigational attribute. when i am trying to activate the info objecty i am getting the error
"Name of the Characteristic is Reserved".
Can nyone plz let me know how to resolve it.

   Could you be a bit clearer? If you created a chrarcteristic infoobject and added the same in the attributes then its not possible and wrong.
An attribute must be a different infoobject.
For eg.
CHAR        ATTr
MATID       MATTYPE
You cannot have
MATID as the attribute of MATID.

Hi,
The maximum length supported by one CHAR type infoobject is 60. Check whether you have assigned more.
If you have to load more length ( more than 60) split the total thing into different infoobjects. Create different infoobjects and split the total thing into them - like 1st 60 char in 1st infoobject, char 61-120 in 2nd infoobject and so on. Then you can again concatenate them.

Error in transporting info-object

Hello Experts,
We need to a import an info-object from Quality to Prod.
From Dev to Quality the transport was successful, but while transporting from
quality to prod we are getting the following errors:
Changes cannot be made, display user only
And as a result the info-object and hence the info-object,transfer rules/Transformation etc are
now inactive in the prod. enviornment.
Could anyone advice on what may be the source of this error??

Need help to solve this please!
I am getting an error while tranporting an info object!
Error 1 with function module RSDRX_FILL_INITIAL_PQTABLE (Fill Master Data)

Diagnosis
Possible causes:
Function module DB_CREATE_TABLE
There is not enough room in the table space.
Procedure
In this case, check the logs on the database and extend the table space if it is too small.

Leading single ZERO for char info object

Hi All,
I have a info object which is having characteristic value. It is getting values like this
08976
076534
9865
065435
when it is coming to BW the ZEROs are skipped can some one help to get this value as it is.
IF iam having alpha converision then it add zeros as many has characteristic length define.
Please can someone help , how to get same format as it is.

HI,
Check if you are using any conversion in the data source.
Also when you are trying to check the data, select the "do not use conversion" option to view the data.
because if you are using a char data type for the info object you're using, the leading zeroes would be as it is.

I am getting this message when adding 0calmonth to catalog. Anyone has similar issue .

Hi,
First of all why you want move 0calmonth from one catalog to another one.
0calmonth is standard info object and it might be installed along with standard catalog.
What is the problem your facing if 0calmonth under old catalog.

Error when activate Info Object

Hi everybody.
Maybeyou can help me.
I made a transport to the production system.
The system was disconnected when i made the transfer. The transportation has fail, however, has generated objects in the target system.
In particular I have a problem with a standard InfoObject (0GN_BWBEOTY).
This object was transported to Production environment but has been inactive.
I can not activate it.
I used the transaction RSRV InfoObjetct, to validate integrity and I get the following errors:
CL_RSMD_RS_0GN_BWBEOTY Class, Method IF_RSMD_RS_ACCESSS ~ get_text.
"RSBWBEOTY" is not defined in the ABAP Dictionary as a table.
I tried to move into a new transport order, the only InfoObject but I get error code 12.
Someone has happened, can you give me ideas? what can i can do?

I still have the problem .
I can not verify whether the information in master data, since the transported infoObjetct not appear in the RSA1 (production) and can not display the master data RSDMD trx.
And i can not activate through RSDG_IOBJ_ACTIVATE. I get the error message detailed in the first post.

ERROR IN ACTIVATING INFO OBJECT

GETTING AN ERROR WHEN I TRIED ACTIVATING THE INFOOBJECT. ERROR I GOT IS,
" ERROR GENERATING MASTER DATA ROUTINES."

This is an ABAP report which can be used to check the consistency of the Objects related to SID values, Nav attribute, Object versions, values check for MD attributes,,,etc...
In case of any errors, you can see the detailed log here and repair as well...
Pls use this to identify the errors in your IOBJ and correct accordingly!

BI 7.0, BEX 3.5, Error while restricting info object

Hello gurus,
We are using BI 7.0 and Bex 3.5, MS office 2003,OS windows XP. While restricting infoobject, by right clicking on the infoobject and chosing the opiton restrict, we are encountering some error messages "fatal error terminating", "Automation error the object invoked has disconnected from its client", next error message is "Active X could not create the object".

Iam also working on BI7.0 and Bex 3.5,i too encountered same problem. One way to resolve the problem is, consider below example
Suppose if u r trying to restrict 0Fiscper Infoobject, try to open variables and select the required variable in the Left column(i mean under Dimensions) then drag and drop that variable into rows or columns, then ur problem get's resolved.What i observed is, if we are trying to right click the infoobject and restrict it when it is in rows or column,then this is giving "fatal error and terminating from login.

After activating the data in ECC rsa5 and replicating it in BW rsa1, when i am trying to activate the infoobjects in object types i get the following error.
*DataSource 0RF_ARTHIER_ACT does not exist in source system DVMCLNT110 of version A *

Hi Rohit,
you can activate the datasource by using 'RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL'program
Please follow bellow steps:
1.Goto SE38>give the Program>click on Execute.
2. Give the technical name of Datasource and Execute.
Note: there is one check box, first execute with that checkbox checked and see, if that didnt work, uncheck the checkbox and execute, hope this should solve your problem.
3. Replicate the Datasouce in BI side.
4. Activate the relavent Objects indevedulally.

Now I want to restrict one KF (say B ) by taking 1st three char of value A.
How can I handel that in Bex,

You can try to restrict using a range with the first value in that range to last, like enc0000000 to enc9999999. Create these values in the master data if reqd.

Error,Info Object 0CHNGID is requested.

Hi All,
I am new to BW/BI, and i am trying to upload data from flat file to BI system; I have uploaded the data successfully into PSA and then into InfoCube; But when i am trying to display the data in the cube i got some 4 errors, i managed to remove the 3 errors by successfully re-importing the missing infobjects from BI Content.
How ever i was not able to overcome this error; it says, "Info Object 0CHNGID is requested", i tried to search this info object in the BI System so that i can also re-import the same but it is not available.
So can anyone of you assist me to overcome this issue.

Its there in the Business content check it. i had checked it just now.
Can u tell me how you are checking the 0CHNGID?
Goto RSA1 -- BI Content -- object types -- infoobject -- search for info object -- and install it.

How to reduce the length of the info object that's being used?

I have created info objects and used them in a DSO. Now I want to reduce the length of the info objects but i'm unable to do it. When I reduced the length and tried activating the Info object, it's giving me error and the info object is not getting activated. Please guide me how I can reduce the length and activate the Info Object.

Reducing the length of an infoobject is not that easy
Cleanest way -
Drop all transaction data for that infoobject
Drop all data in the DSO and cubes.
Reduce the length and then activate and transport all the infoobject and there dependence objects.

Inactive info Object

I get the following errors when i try to activate an info object ( 0CO_AREA ) which is inactive under my info object tree and within the Business Content.

Follow the steps
1. In the infobject menu delete the 0CO_AREA
2.Catch up the infobject 0CO_AREA in Business Content screen and say Install.
3.In AWB-->Modelling, search your infobject 0CO_AREA..and this time it shoul be active..
assign points if it helps..
