Error in Chinese language translation In Forms....

We have our application based on Oracle and d2k.
Standard language is English. Thus all the labels and data in the Form and in the Tables are in english language. Now we wish to generate one of the forms in chinese language which will change the labels in the form to chinese letters.
Approach we followed:
All the corresponding english lables in The Form Screen are generated in the Chinese language in the excel file. We have imported the .csv file with corrsponding lables in our schema. and the data is populated in the tables.
Problem encountered:
All the data in the tables is shown as junk values. ie, ???????
NLS_LANG has been set in the registry as
"TRADITIONAL Chinese_Hong Kong.UTF8".
I have this feeling that i am setting the wrong lang setting.
let me know if this is correct and what else can i check so that i can junk characters paves ways to chinese characters.
When i try to insert in the tables thro SQL.... it does not allow and the char are still ?????????????????????
Kindly suggest.

When i have done the changes as suggested by u, i am not able to launch SQL...
message is:
ORA-12705: invalid or Unknown NLS parameter value specified.
When i open google site.. the screens are in chinese .. this shows system has accepted the chinese character set.
My previous settings allowed me to connect to SQL but the data was junk characters like ???????????????

  • Translate a form to Chinese

    Hi,
    Somebody knows how can I translate a form in English to Chinese using the translation hub?
    I already translate some form from English to Portuguess, french, spanish but when I try to translate to chinese, I pasted the chinese character and the translation hub take it as "?", someone knows why?
    Thanks ins advance.
    Magda

    This thread is a bit old, but I had the same problem and was eventually able to fix it by doing the following:
    Be sure to install the East Asian Language Pack for Windows XP
    Chinese Setup:
    1.     In Control Panel, in ‘Regional and Language Options’, set language to ‘Chinese PRC’
    2.     In Control Panel, in ‘Regional and Language Options’, open the ‘Languages’ tab and click ‘Details’. Set the default input language to ‘Chinese (PRC) – Chinese (Simplified) - US Keyboard’
    3.     Reboot computer, then set the NLS_LANG registry key to SIMPLIFIED CHINESE_CHINA.ZHS16GBK (located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oracle\KEY_DevSuiteHome)
    4.     PC is now set to run Translation Hub. There are a few things to keep in mind when using the Hub in Chinese:
    i.     If copying and pasting from an Excel spreadsheet, paste the text into Notepad first. In Notepad, delete the trailing carriage return and add colon if necessary. Then copy and past from Notepad into the Hub. Translation does not work correctly otherwise.
    ii.     Text pasted into the Hub in Chinese/Japanese will look like random characters (it will not look like the correct Chinese/Japanese character). The character is stored correctly in the database and will show up correctly on the report and in Reports Builder.
    iii.     If text pasted into the Hub appears as ‘??????’, something is not set up correctly and the text will not be stored correctly in the database.
    5.     After entering translations, make sure to do all conversions (US.rex --> ZHS.rex, .rex --> .rdf) using the same NLS_LANG setting. Changing this setting before opening Reports Builder and doing the .rex --> .rdf conversion will cause text to show up incorrectly.
    Some of these steps, such as changing the input to ‘Chinese (PRC) – Chinese (Simplified) - US Keyboard’, seem a bit strange. However, I was only able to get Chinese translations to work by following all of these steps. Hopefully someone finds this useful.
    Note: this is for Report translation. Use .fmb? instead of .rex

  • Language Translations of Adobe Forms

    Hi,
    My question is regarding language translations in Adobe Form. I have translated the adobe form in various languages, now I want to check in how many languages I already translated? Is there any way by which I can check the translations??
    Thanks & Regards
    Rafi

    HI friend,
    Just try this transaction SE63.
    In that There are menu called GOTO and WORKLIST.
    Check the options in those two. I don't have sufficient authorization to check the things. I think it will provide you the required information.
    Please revert back me if you find a solution or if i am wrong. SO that i will try some other option.

  • Adobe form language translation

    Hi All,
    In Adobe form, I found two issues while translating English form to Korean.
    1. Bold property is not working in print output.
    2. When I am trying to fax, the Korean form fax is not coming.
    Please kindly advise.
    Thanks,
    Anu

    Hi Anu,
    You need to check your (installed/used) fonts. Usually for bold, italic, etc a specific font is used. Sometimes they are not available, e.g. in cases when a word in bold doesn't mean something in a language.
    Please note that it might be on your printer that the font is missing and consequently substituted by the regular font, n the case the preview PDF would be just fine but the actual print output not.
    Cheers,

  • N91 Chinese language support and error msg: operat...

    Nokia phone: N91 WCDMA
    Firmware update: v2.20.008
    PC Suite: v7.0.82
    PC: Window XP 32-bit OS
    After updated the software, there is no Chinese for phone and written language. Is there any way that I can install the language instead of going to Nokia Care Centre? In spite of that, the Nokia phone browser prompt error message “The operation could not be completed” when I tried to access it. What is the problem?

    Hi!
    Can you give more details, especially your productcode? (You can find it by tapping *#0000# and it starts with 05**.)
    The question if you lose your Chinese language support depends on what exactly the dealer did with your phone, ie. which tools he used to flash it. So, I can't unfortunately this one without having the exact information. If he didn't fully change the productcode (and your phone is still on a supposedly Australian productcode), the update will set your phone back to the state in which it was when it left the factory. Meaning, your language pack will be back to default - without any Chinese characters.

  • Error facing in Date format in Chinese languaga in Webi Document

    Hi,
    In Infoview, when i am launching the webi document from a China location(China user) after giving the date as input in the promt window i am facing a Date error "aaaa-n-j h:mm:ss" in Chinese language.
    so i think my date format is not in sync with Chinese date format.so if it the case what configuration changes to be done in infoview to resolve such issues?
    Note: however this webi docuement is used by multiple users from multiple countries.
    So what settings needs to be done in Infoview inorder to mitigate these date format issues. (i.e when opening a webi document in a different country in their local language)
    Please help me in resolving this issue.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kishore.

    Just for a workaround,  If date format DD/MM/YYYY is not giving error, enter date in this date format despite profile format, or change user profile to that.
    And check for user-exit with hard-code format validation.

  • Problem in language Translation

    Hi Experts,
    I am having problem in language translation of smart form.
    I have include all text as text element and have done translation in SE63. But when I login in to translated language the output remains in English.
    I have made the translation from English to Chinese in SE63.
    Please suggest why the output does not come into translated language.

    Hi ,
    I have been working on translations for 8 months now. I think i can resolve your issue.
    Remember one thing in mind when you do translations firstly when you go to se 63 and make some changes make sure that you have not opened the smartform in Change mode. If you do so then you will face this sort of probelm. As per your messages i think you have already checked the language in the form
    If not make sure you do it. Now try again in SE63 make changes in what ever langauage you are doing and then "saveactive" .
    One more final thing if anytext in smartform say   &invoivce_no& is blank in smartform then it will not show up in se63 i think you know about this.

  • Problem when displaying smartform in chinese language

    Hi ,
    I have copied a standard smart form into Z smartform and added few fields in it  as per the requirement .
    When I display form in english or german it prints correctly .
    when I print it in Chinese it prints the workarea name which I am using to print the values of the fileds .
    it prints as below
    &wa_vbak-budat&
    please help , I tried changing the font type and size but it still shows the same.
    Regards,
    Gayatri Hemnur

    Hi Gouri,
    The first step for translation is that u have to change the regional settings in your computer. Or You should logon with Chinese language.
    If you have done that already, i think the problem may be that in the reoport the length of the field is smaller than the space required for the chinese characters.
    Even if it is done i think you can try doing this, go to se63 translate the field once again and save it. I think this should solve your problem.

  • Couldn't I use Chinese language in properties stream ?

    Hi , everyone !
    Couldn't I use Chinese language in properties ?
    I use properties manage program attributes , but the value which I type in Chinese language can not load
    correctly !
    Why ?

    Hi,
    I did a lot of testing with the method of my last posting and ran into the following problem: each character, that is not available in iso 8859-1 is discarded and replaced by a '?'. So when e.g. loading arabic characters you get just "?????" as your property's value.
    The only possibility to enable other encodings of Property Files is to replace the encoding of the reader to one that is better suited. So I created a customized class, that inherits from java.util.Properties, and supports loading and storing to any encoding. This class I give here:
    * Properties.java
    * Created on 11. Juni 2003, 14:08
    package xy;
    * The <code>Properties</code> class represents a persistent set of
    * properties. The <code>Properties</code> can be saved to a stream
    * or loaded from a stream. Each key and its corresponding value in
    * the property list is a string.
    * <p>
    * A property list can contain another property list as its
    * "defaults"; this second property list is searched if
    * the property key is not found in the original property list.
    * <p>
    * Because <code>Properties</code> inherits from <code>Hashtable</code>, the
    * <code>put</code> and <code>putAll</code> methods can be applied to a
    * <code>Properties</code> object.  Their use is strongly discouraged as they
    * allow the caller to insert entries whose keys or values are not
    * <code>Strings</code>.  The <code>setProperty</code> method should be used
    * instead.  If the <code>store</code> or <code>save</code> method is called
    * on a "compromised" <code>Properties</code> object that contains a
    * non-<code>String</code> key or value, the call will fail.
    * <p>
    * <a name="encoding"></a>
    * When saving properties to a stream or loading them from a stream, the
    * ISO 8859-1 character encoding can be used. For characters that cannot be directly
    * represented in this encoding,
    * <a href="http://java.sun.com/docs/books/jls/html/3.doc.html#100850">Unicode escapes</a>
    * are used; however, only a single 'u' character is allowed in an escape sequence.
    * The native2ascii tool can be used to convert property files to and from
    * other character encodings.
    * </p>
    * <p>
    * This Properties class is an extension of the default properties class an supports the
    * loading and saving from and into other encodings than ISO 8859-1.
    * </p>

        /** Creates a new instance of Properties */
        public Properties() {
         * Reads a property list (key and element pairs) from the input stream.
         * The stream is assumed to be in the specified character encoding.
         * <p>
         * Every property occupies one line of the input stream. Each line
         * is terminated by a line terminator (<code>\n</code> or <code>\r</code>
         * or <code>\r\n</code>). Lines from the input stream are processed until
         * end of file is reached on the input stream.
         * <p>
         * A line that contains only whitespace or whose first non-whitespace
         * character is an ASCII <code>#</code> or <code>!</code> is ignored
         * (thus, <code>#</code> or <code>!</code> indicate comment lines).
         * <p>
         * Every line other than a blank line or a comment line describes one
         * property to be added to the table (except that if a line ends with \,
         * then the following line, if it exists, is treated as a continuation
         * line, as described
         * below). The key consists of all the characters in the line starting
         * with the first non-whitespace character and up to, but not including,
         * the first ASCII <code>=</code>, <code>:</code>, or whitespace
         * character. All of the key termination characters may be included in
         * the key by preceding them with a \.
         * Any whitespace after the key is skipped; if the first non-whitespace
         * character after the key is <code>=</code> or <code>:</code>, then it
         * is ignored and any whitespace characters after it are also skipped.
         * All remaining characters on the line become part of the associated
         * element string. Within the element string, the ASCII
         * escape sequences <code>\t</code>, <code>\n</code>,
         * <code>\r</code>, <code>\\</code>, <code>\"</code>, <code>\'</code>,
         * <code>\  </code>  (a backslash and a space)
         * are recognized and converted to single
         * characters. Moreover, if the last character on the line is
         * <code>\</code>, then the next line is treated as a continuation of the
         * current line; the <code>\</code> and line terminator are simply
         * discarded, and any leading whitespace characters on the continuation
         * line are also discarded and are not part of the element string. <br>
         * Note:
         * <code>\u</code><i>xxxx</i> is not supported if the encoding is not
         * ISO 8859-1!
         * <p>
         * As an example, each of the following four lines specifies the key
         * <code>"Truth"</code> and the associated element value
         * <code>"Beauty"</code>:
         * <p>
         * <pre>
         * Truth = Beauty
         *     Truth:Beauty
         * Truth               :Beauty
         * </pre>
         * As another example, the following three lines specify a single
         * property:
         * <p>
         * <pre>
         * fruits                    apple, banana, pear, \
         *                                  cantaloupe, watermelon, \
         *                                  kiwi, mango
         * </pre>
         * The key is <code>"fruits"</code> and the associated element is:
         * <p>
         * <pre>"apple, banana, pear, cantaloupe, watermelon, kiwi, mango"</pre>
         * Note that a space appears before each <code>\</code> so that a space
         * will appear after each comma in the final result; the <code>\</code>,
         * line terminator, and leading whitespace on the continuation line are
         * merely discarded and are <i>not</i> replaced by one or more other
         * characters.
         * <p>
         * As a third example, the line:
         * <p>
         * <pre>cheeses
         * </pre>
         * specifies that the key is <code>"cheeses"</code> and the associated
         * element is the empty string.<p>

  • When I login to EBS as Japan language session some Forms Application is Eng

    Hi ,
    have recently applied japan NLS on r121.1 and later upgraded to 12.1.3 also applied 9239090(japan as well).
    But customer has complained the error below.
    Any ideas on it .
    Forms Application is still English.
    When I login to EBS as Japan language session, some Forms Application is English.
    e.g
    user MFG
    pass welcome
    Resp Manufacturing and Distribution Manager
    Path Inventory>品目>品目関連
    Thanks

    ls: /u100/app/HONDA1/orhonda1/oracle/aphonda1/apps/apps_st/appl/po/12.0.0/forms/JA/POXRQVRQ.fmx: No such file or directoryThis indicates that the fmx file was not generated via adadmin -- Can you upload the adadmin log file here?
    and also, after logging into the application selecting japan,to the left side i can see some responsibilities in english still..Is this the normal behaviour.No.
    Have you generated all NLS menus via adadmin? If possible, upload the log file.
    In the preferences tab when i check,logging to application with english can see the below..
    Current Session Language :- American English
    Default Session Language :- American English
    Is the above correct ?
    Do we need to perform any steps to so that we can see the responsibilites in english.Change the session language to Japanese and check then.
    Thanks,
    Hussein
