Error in Christian Holidays calendar

ICal shows today as being the feast of Christ the King. This is incorrect. It is next Sunday - the last Sunday before Advent.

VARooster,
Try using Christian Holidays from iCalShare: "This is a Christian calendar that lists the most common Christian holidays, as listed at the site above. The calendar is in response to the out-of-date calendar available on apple.com."
You may also want to let Apple know that you want a more accurate calendar by using iCal Feedback.

  • Errors in Christian Holidays calendar - please update

I subscribed to the Christian Holidays calendar at http://ical.mac.com/ical/Christian32Holidays.ics. It has some errors and since I didn't create it, I can't fix them.
    The problems:
    - Easter should be an entire day, not just from 1-2 PM.
    - The following holidays between Epiphany and Easter are missing: Shrove Tuesday/Mardi Gras, Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday
Since these are some of the most important holidays in the Christian calendar, and also some which change their date every year, it would be nice if whoever is in charge of this calendar could fix these problems. Thank you.

I searched for this thread because I too noticed that "Good Friday" was missing from the "Christian Holiday Calendar 1.0" file for this year. The bottom line is that despite the 10/07 time stamp on the Downloads/Calendars page, this file has not been updated (by Apple) in three years.
For example, "Good Friday" exists in this ICS file for 2004,2005,2006,2007 only.
The challenge in keeping a calendar like this updated is that certain religious holidays such as "Easter" do not fall on a Gregorian calendar interval that can be repeated in iCal. (Easter is the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after March 21.)
Of course Apple could go a long way in at least helping their users avoid this confusion by simply including a date range reference or last updated reference in the description field of these calendar files.
So basically you can wait until the (correct) Apple folks catch on to this thread (don't hold your breath) or their mistake (I wouldn't wait for that either) or you can start updating this calendar yourself.
To do this, click on the Christian Holidays calendar in iCal. Then click File/Export. Save. Drag the resulting exported (saved) file onto your iCal icon. An "Adding New Events" dialog will appear, pull down the menu and select "New Calendar".
You will now have an editable local instance of the original "from URL" based calendar and can start updating (or changing) as you see fit.
Good luck fellow disappointed Apple provided iCal calendar downloaders.

the error clearly saying that you dont have holiday calendar for 01.01.2012,, so please change it using PT02 to avoid the error.
then you check what exactly system is doing.
you have to create a wsr with one month extra validity than the exact periods required to avoid the future errors as you are getting now.
system always takes one month extra validity it is standard functionality.

  • Transporting holiday calendar gives export error

I have changed settings for a holiday calendar and I am trying to transport the calendars to my test system. But in the process I get an export error saying "scrap char in NUMC field found in TFAIT.VON."
Does anybody know what the issue might be and how to solve it? What I have done is only to remove a fixed date holiday from one calendar.
The error refers to note 718511 for further information but it does not suggest how to fix the problem directly.
    Any thoughts?
    Regards Jesper

    Hi,

  • Where are my iCal subscriptions "Christian Holidays"& "Jewish Calendar"?

I have been using iCal ever since my first MacBook G3.  I find it very useful to keep track of dates and appointments for my business, my family and my daughter.  I have appreciated the subscriptions as well, especially those for holidays.  Unfortunately, the subscriptions for CHRISTIAN HOLIDAYS and JEWISH HOLIDAYS have somehow expired, and they are NOWHERE to be found in the list of Downloads for iCal Calendars.  WHERE ARE THEY & HOW CAN I DOWNLOAD THEM??

Many of the calendars which were originally listed on that page were hosted on ical.me.com, which has disappeared with the termination of MobileMe: they won't be available until the authors sort out a new server.
In the meantime you can get a Jewish Holidays calendar at http://www.hebcal.com/

  • ICal U.S. Holiday Calendar Download Error

    Hello!
So I've been trying to subscribe to the U.S. Holiday Day Calendar 1.0 on my iCal (version 3.0.5) and I keep on receiving an error message: *Error subscribing to the calendar* +Data downloaded from http://ical.mac.com/ical/US32Holidays.ics is not valid.+
Here is the URL for the subscription: webcal://ical.mac.com/ical/US32Holidays.ics
Thank you ahead for any help!

Here's what worked for me (trying it for the first time today), using my macbook pro with OS X Mountain Lion:
Go to http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/calendars/usholidaycalendar.html for Apple's ics file for US holidays. You can get an ics file from elsewhere if you'd like (some people want more holidays listed, but this one's good for me).
Click the upside-down triangle beside the word "Download" on the download button.
iCal opened the subscription window automatically for me, and the "Calendar URL" online address for the ics file appeared in the appropriate box.
iCloud was, by default, selected for the subscription, and I kept that setting (so the holiday calendar would appear on my iPhone, too).
    Clicked "Subscribe" and it worked.
Then, I went to my iPhone, opened "Settings" and then "iCloud" to confirm settings were ok there. Since I hadn't activated iCal there previously, I had to turn on "Calendars."
Now, US Holiday calendar appears in iCal on my macbook pro and in Calendars on my iPhone. (I do have "All Calendars" as the setting in my Calendar app on my iPhone.)
I see some people up here wondering whether the file is new/compatible enough, but since it is an ics file, which is supposed to be a universal standard, there shouldn't be a problem with it even though the file posted a few years ago.

  • Notes to be implemenented after Factory and holiday calendar are extended.

    Hi All,
Since most of SAP Factory and Holiday Calendar used had Validity date that ends on 12/31/2010 we have extended them till 2020.
This was done manually using SAP note 1529469 and 501670.
We have also implemented SAP Note 1532398 to avoid jobs going to dump that are running to deleted old spool request in SAP.
We would like to know if there are any other note to be implemented in our SAP production system as a part of year end activity related to Factory and holiday Calendar.
We could find the below note under 1532398
1534735 - Job terminates with error message BT 518
1532398 - Spool requests are no longer deleted as of beginning of year
574628 - Change calendar dates in production system
    538344 - Transporting calendar dates
    501670 - Public Holiday Calendar Creation/Change
    1529649 - Factory Calendar expires 2010
    Thanks

    Hi
I suppose the notes 1529649 - Factory Calendar expires 2010 and 501670 - Public Holiday Calendar Creation/Change are sufficient for the extensions.
I don't any extra tasks are involved during the year end activity as far as factory / holiday calendar is concerned.

  • Assigning an attendance to Holiday Calendar  !

    Hi All,
We have a situation where the employee can work on holidays. If they work on holidays , they enter an attendance type say 2000 - Holiday worked.  While entering time in CATS.., this attendance type must be entered. But we also want to make sure that this attendance type can be entered only on the holidays.. if  an employee tries to enter att type 2000 on any other day apart from holiday , the system should give an error.
Question: Is there a way in IMG/config that an attendance type can be attached/tied to a holiday calendar so that the above functionality can be achieved..
If not.. then i guess CATS0006 would come to my rescue ??
    Thanks,
    Mark.

We had a similar(I can say same) requirement and as far I was able to search through, there wasnt any IMG configuration step to achieve this requirement. But CATS0006 is a God Sent! :)..It does the work perfect!..Just compare the holiday class for a particular day and ascertain whether the required absence type is entered and based on the holiday class of the day, throw an error message as required.
    Thanks,
    Krish

  • Non-standard date format yyyymdd in holiday calendar?

    Hello,
I currently implement the Mozilla Dutch Holiday calendar http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/caldata/DutchHolidays.ics on iPhones, iPads, Thunderbird with Lightning and Android-based telephones.
That calendar contents show up in the iPhones, iPads and Thunderbirds. But a number of different apps on the Android telephone either show nothing or report an invalid date format used in that file. At first I assumed that there was some error in those apps. But one of the creators informed me that according to the specification as shown in http://www.kanzaki.com/docs/ical/date.html the date format in that Mozilla Holiday Calendar is not according to the spec. It contains dates in the format 4-1-2 instead of 4-2-2.
Here is one I found. I did not try to find all of them.
    DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:2010828
    DTEND;VALUE=DATE:2010829
    Will this be corrected?
    Thank you for your help.
    Best regards

Now we are into territory I am unfamiliar with, so I looked around.
Looks like first file a bug. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/
I suggest copying product etc from this bug. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=953257
seek advice there in exactly what to do, but it looks like uploading a corrected ICS is about it.
You might add the module owner to the bug https://wiki.mozilla.org/Modules/All#Calendar

  • Problem in generating Holiday Calendar

    Dear All,
I have created Holiday Calendar for 2009 through SCAL. After that I had generated work schedule rule through PT01. But after generating work schedule, 19th Oct,2009 which was marked as public holiday in the calendar is not coming as an OFF day in work schedule.
Please suggest how to rectify this error.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Kanupriya

    Hi friend
First please check your Holiday Calender.  See whether the holiday is assigned to your holiday calender and make sure that you have assigned to your personnel subarea grouping and employee subgroup grouping.  Once you finish that, please run PT01.  After this go to PT03, give the correct information like the employee grouping, holiday calender, personnel subarea grouping and work schedule rule.  Give the current year 012009 to 122009 and select the ALV list and display the information.  If all the specified information is given correctly, it will work.

  • Public Holiday calendar not to be taken into account for Sick Leave

    Dear All,
    I need help.
Public Holiday calendar not to be taken into account for Sick Leave.
Eg -When I employee applies for sick leave, the public holiday in between the dates shouldnt be considered. How can I configure this requirement.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Poornima

For that group, you need 2 counting rules:
    - one for Holiday Class 0 (not a public holiday) and Day Work Schedule Class 0 (not a working day)
    - one for Holiday Class 0 (not a public holiday) and Day Work Schedule Class 1 to 9 (a working day)
If you want, you can add an other one or two for Holiday Class 1 to 9 (public holiday)
