Error in component quantity while exploding BOM

Hi
We are facing error while exploding BOM
i.e. the component quantity is 11.111 YD in cs03
but while exploring in CS13 we are getting component qty as 12 YD
Note : there is no rounding value maintained in the material master

Thnx for the reply.
When i tried to open the component in dev system, runtime error is coming but while this component is tried in sandbox this error is not there, can you help to find that diffrence.
One more observation that, RT repository is not loaded in dev while is it sucessfully loaded in sandbox.
NB: one more request , here we are trying to add po_box into this component but AET not supported.
Please advice.

Reg: Error in BMEIN field while doing BOM master upload in direct input met

Hi ABAPERs,
I am doing BOM master upload using direct input method of LSMW.
It is showing one error while the time of execution that 'The BMEIN field is not an input field'.
But in my input file they have given the data for BMEIN field so I can not remove that field.
I am not able to ressolve that issue. Can any one please help me regarding this.

goto transaction code and check the BMEIN field in the screen level. if it is disable mode it will not accept and get the error.
for this ask to functional people to chnage the customization for this filed.
currently the field is disable mode in screen level ,so chage the BMEIN field is optional through custmozation....

Error in confirmed quantity while creating sales order

Hi,
When I am creating sales order, I am getting confirmed quantity as 0. I have checked the following items,
1. Partial Delivery is permitted for the customer
2. Stock Ava liability is 1,100
3. Confirmed Issue I am getting 1,100
Please solve my problem why i am getting confirmed quantity as 0 and were i have to check for error

Check what is there in the availability Check. Try to see the scope of check in the Scheduline tab of the sales order item. Also, check the date for which the item has been confirmed. You can also check what is the Requirement type that has come up.
You can also check in MMBE (for the plant, material and storage loc combination) if the quantity available is reserved for some other sales order and at the same time in the availability check you have made it to consider the reserved quantity..
All these will help you analyse why you are getting the confirmed quantity as 0.

Vlpod - error calculating component quantity

When we do a Vlpod and put a 'diff in qty' for header material (item) then 'diff in qty' for component material should also change as component material should be linked to header material. This is not happening in ecc6 environment.
Is anybody has faced such type of issue? Or if you have suggestion then do let me know ...

how & where to maintain settings for decimal places for component quantity in a BOM..??
eg., Base unit of measure is KG n base quantity is 1KG
component quantity is o.5KG... at present system is not accepting decimal places....

Hi,
enter the no of decimal places in CUNI .
then , in CS02 - enter the qty as 0,05 and not as 0.05 (use comma instead of fullstop and it will not throw any error) pls check.
you can change this using this path also
in the SAP user menu System->User profile-> Own data in the Default value tab page you can find the decimal notation

Error while changing the component quantity

Hi Experts,
I facing an issue, while changing the component quantity of the process order. Parent material have fixed lot size and the componenets maintained as fixed quantity in BOM. When I try to change the quantity of the components in process order, it showing an message "Please re-explode the BOM, since the component quanities are changed.
Why am getting this message?

As Mr Reddy said, there is a fixed quantity indicator ticked in the BOM, therefore you are getting that error. Please remove the tick in BOM in the item details besides the quantity field and then try changing the quantites while confirming.

may be the suncontractor needed more than the BOM quantiy.It is the case of overconsumption of components.

How to increase Decimal Points for the BOM Component Quantity

While creating BOM:
Can anyone help me to know how i can increase the Decimal points for the BOM components quantity.
I can able to give only upto 3 decimal points, but the requirement is more than that.
I have increased the Decimal point value to 5 in transaction Code CUNI. but still it is allowing me to enter only upto three decimal places.

You would be better off changing the base quantity of the parent part. Instead of "1 EA parent contains .00003MG of component" you could say "100 EA parents contain .003MG of component".
Alternately, you could use different units of measure for your parent or component parts, which would be more suitable for the 3 place decimal limitation.
I agree with Anil in that if you elect to change the decimals from standard, you could end up with huge changes that will propagate through every module in the ERP. In my view, there is no need of this kind of headache.

        I am creating a report inwhich showing all BOM components for sale order
        wise.
        I have used FM 'CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2' to show all the BOM
        components.
        Now I want to display the component quantity also based on required
        quantity as we do in CS11.
        Is there any tables or function modules to get those fields.

What-if Analysis on Bom Component Quantity

Hi ,
Is it possible to do What-if analysis on Bom Component Quantity ? As Users wanted to do what if analysis for Gross Die per Wafer. We tried creating one measure for GDPW and use the if condition in BOM Custom Roll up for eg. if (isNull("GDPW"),Component_Qty,"GDPW") but it is not working for What-if Analysis. Do i need to change something in On-Change formulae in BOM Custom Roll up.

We are able to load the GDPW for Die level (only one stage )and we have a condition to validate if the measure is null it will take the component_Quantity or else it will take the 1/GDPW measure value. we are doing it for 3 purposes :
1. To get the Accurate value of GDPW which is equal to 1/Component_Quantity (GDPW will be accurate only if we get 30 decimal places value in calculation)
2. As part of information provided to Users as they wanted to see it.
3. To do What-if Analysis (if Possible).
We could have use 'todouble' for the accuracy but we were thinking of what if analysis, and user visibility also.So far calculation is coming nicely but it would be appreciated if you can give pointers for the risk involved in keeping GDPW as measure.

Change in BOM Component quantity

Currently I am working on an implementation project on Chemical manufacturing firm, where there is a requirement in Bill of materials.
In BOM, they are having components in which the quantity is getting varied. Example: For making a particular header material there may be quantity changes in the component because the raw material quantity received from the vendors varies.
So if we get a raw material with lower grade quantity, then to produce the header material - component quantity would be different. So quantity of the component quantity changes with the quality provided by vendor.
Please suggest me the best possible solutions in SAP.

There is Std SAP functionality to deal with this called MQC given in Recipe. You need to discover this thoroughly & need to try in your sand box. I will suggest you to first understand how it works & then if you faces any issues ask for advice.

Change Base unit of measurment while creating BOM-CS01

Dear Experts,
Base UoM in material master is in Metric Tonne "MT",While Creating the BOM of the Material My Base qunatity is also in MT by default but I want to change Base Uom to in KiloLiter "KL".But system is not allowing to change.
In system there are many Transactions iof material in current period.
Please suggest as it is in production server.

We are Using User Exists,
If Production Order Header material's unit of entry is not same as base UOM then system will check conversion ratio maintained in material master-->additional data.
Convert quantity in UOE to quantity in Base UOM for Header material i.e.101 movement.
Calculate componenet quantity (261 movement) as per bom.
Calculate 95% of component quantity for lower tolerance limit
Calculate 105% of component quantity for upper tolerance limit
If component quantity entered against 261 movement is not within lower and upper tolerance then system will give error message and will restrict to post entry.
This for information part.But still my question is how can alt. Uom of Measurment can be used while creation of BOM instead of Base Uom at header level.

Add and edit BOM component in the Equi BOM using LSMW

Hi All,
I created a Batch input recording in LSMW to add BOM component in the Equi BOM (IB02). It is working fine. But my requirement is while adding it should check the material already available in the BOM, if not insert a new line or if it is there then it should only edit the quantity. Is it possible in LSMW?

It is not possible with LSMW as it is an SAP standard program.
To meet your requirment you can create an BDC with help of your ABAP team and in that program you can put all the mentioned conditions and requirement you want.
