Error in connection - nokia 6233

I have a nokia 6233, sent it away because keypad wasn't working but now i have replacement, i am not able to make calls or send messages. Phone is a contract phone and sim works in other phones, just wondering is there a setting on the phone that would fix this? any suggestions would be helpfulMessage Edited by star10 on 01-Sep-200712:58 PM

Hiya
We have been having the ERROR IN CONNECTION problem for nearly 8 months now, AAPT blames Nokia, Nokia says nothing wrong with the phone. It has been into the sevice centre this week and still not working, I am going in tomorrow to get it looked at AGAIN. We upgraded to 6103 in Jan and almost immediately had problems, we have had new sims and a new handset sent and still getting same message.
If I find anythign out from tomorrow will let you know but by doing a "GOOGLE" search on the term Error in Connection is would seem that this is an ongoing problem with the Nokia phone going back at least 3 yrs.
It is very frustrating and if its not fixed, you will hear me from where you are!

Hello, have a good day. I can't connect my nokia 110 phone to any external speakers like Sound Box when the speaker configuration is correct. They have some settings or configuration for speakers have lost in to my nokia 110 phone, please help me.

I think this is more of a Windows issue than a Nokia issue. What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Most people do not network their phone to their PC, they just access a wi-fi connection. When they need to do updates or download music they use Nokia PC Suite on the PC and physically connect them via USB.
If I have helped you with your problem in some way, please take a little time and hit the kudos button in my post. Without your feedback, I don't know if I am being helpful or should just be put out to pasture.

  • Error in Connection - Nokia 8800

Purchased a second hand Nokia 880, the phone is fine, comes up with Vodaphone UK when i turn it on so i don't think its locked.
It will send and receive SMS texts fine, but when I try to make a call it says 'Error in Connecion'.
Any ideas? I'm afraid this is indictiive that the phone is stolen and been barred, but then why does SMS work?

Check that you are using the correct message centre number in the message settings.

  • Nokia 6233 Error!

Hi, I have a new Nokia 6233 (a day old), and when I try to make a call I get an "Error in connection" message. I can make a phone call, if I'm lucky, but most often then not I get the error. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? Thanks!

Hi ochrerock! Thanks for the reply, although a tad late because I'm exchanging the phone for a Sony Ericsson k800i. I would loved to have kept the 6233, and not being able to use 3G is not a big deal to me. Thanks again, atleast I now know what the problem may have been. • Nokia Map Loader Error in connection

    Hi Guys,
I have an N80 and have the MAPS software installed on my phone and the Nokia Map Loader software on my Laptop. However, in order for me to download the maps I have to connect my N80 to my laptop in Data Transfer Mode and then run Nokia Map Loader. This should then allow me to download the Maps. I get an error when connecting to my laptop in Data Transfer Mode. It just says Invalid usb connection or something like that. No I don't think it is the maps software but I would like to know if any of you had the same problem before and how it can be resolved. I sent a note to Nokia Tech team to see if they know but it takes a while for them to get back to you.
So, does anybody know how I can get past this or get the MAPS downloaded?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

can´t connect nokia map loader, error, won´t work?
I had this same problem, found your post looking for an answer (lol), and I just SOLVED the problem ; )
First, you don´t connect in data transfer mode. You must use pc suite mode, or it won´t work.
Second, (and this is the tricky part), YOU HAVE TO INSTALL nokia maps on your smartphone (so far ok, we all know this), but then you have to RUN THE PROGRAM ONCE.
Don´t ask me why, but if you just install nokia maps, then try to connect with nokia map loader, it won´t work. You have to install the program then run it once. Exit the program, then connect to you pc (nokia map loader) with pc suite mode.
BTW, do NOT install nokia maps on your smartphone on the phone memory. ALWAYS USE THE CARD MEMORY, install nokia maps on your memory card, because the maps are so huge. Most phones won´t have enough internal space.
So this is it, no more suffering. Damn, I´m good ; )

  • NOKIA 2690 Error in Connection

    Dear forum,
I recently used my Nokia2690 to download some wallpapers and games. Now it is acting weird, like it does not connect to the PC via USB port. This didn't happen before as I've used the USB to connect a lot of times. Is this a virus? Should I format my phone? Besides not being able to connect via USB, I haven't found any other problems though. Please advise.

    Hi,
    Lets try these workarounds:
Go to Menu>Settings>Phone>Operator Selection> Choose Manual - then phone will scan for active networks in your area, after that pick the right network which you are on.
It might also happen that the connection quality on your area is weak - it will really have a hard time looking up for a signal especially at home. The phone will not compensate though as I have observed that it has a weak internal aerials compared to my 5610 and N96.
I have read that some 3G signal will disturb the phone with error in connection.  However, i don't think 5300 is a 3g phone?
3G signal doesn't affect in your phone in anyway. Nokia is only a GPRS/EDGE capable device therefore it is not 3G.
    Hope this helps =)

  • Nokia 500 Error in Connection

I have nokia 500 which am using but i have some problem on it. I can't enter to ovi, email and to the store whenever i could try it tells me error in connection i thought was a problem to the network operator and try to change several operator but still am experiencing same problem please anyone help me
Moderator's Note: A more appropriate subject was provided.

Most applications use whatever access point is Priority 1 in Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Settings > Network destinations > Internet.
Also worth checking to open browser > tap three horizontal line icon at bottom right of screen > Settings > General > Access point - temporarly change to "Ask when needed".
If you change SIM required network access point may be found in 'Uncategorised" and need to be moved to "Internet" by longpress to reveal further menu options.

  • Nokia 5300 "Error in Connection"

    Hi,
I am having trouble with my Nokia 5300 phone recently.  At certain places where i stay at, my phone will experiece the "error in connection" problem.  I bought this phone overseas and currently use AT&T as my service provider.
At home my phone will show i have reception but when i try calling it will give me "error in connection".  I try my sim card on my friend's phone and it works.  When he tests his sim card in my phone same error occurs. However, when i leave my home and try to use my phone elsewhere the phone works.  It's very annoying because i stay at home most of the time.  My phone now is practically useless.
I have read that some 3G signal will disturb the phone with error in connection.  However, i don't think 5300 is a 3g phone?
Please help me solve this problem.  Thanks!

  • Headset (HS-23) connection with device (Nokia 6233...

    Hi
From last couple of weeks my headset (HS-23) is not properly connecting with my device (Nokia 6233). Sometimes device shows headset icon but there is no sound in the headset at all. Sometimes sound came from only one of the ear piece, sometimesa sound comes from both of the ear piece but with a different volume level among them. It can be fixed for some of the time by just pushing/pulling the connection with device but not always. Also if this is fixed like this, this type of fix does not persist for long time e.g. problem again came in if the connection point is again moved/pushed/pulled by mistake.
Please help me what to do because of this mess its annyoing and disturbing the music listening experience.

Just clean the pop-port on your phone and the contacts on the headset.
Use a cotton tip with a few drops of isopropyl alcohol on it but be careful not to bend the contacts on the headset.

  • Nokia 6233 - PC Suit Cable Connection & Music

I have recently purchased the Nokia 6233 and would appreciate any advice on the following (in laymans terms would be great as I am not very tech minded) 1. PC suit will not recognise my phone (USB connection) At first the connection was intermittent e.g. sometimes it will recognise it and at other times it wont. Now after telling me to update to the new PC Suite, which I did (and it didn't work at all so I uninstalled it and re-loaded the old version )it will not recognise my phone. 2. When it did connect I managed to transfer some music from CD to PC Suit and then from the PC Suite to my phone. However I kept getting a message that there wasn't enough memory on the phone to download the music (even when I tried up to 3 songs) so I bought a memory card. This was good as I can now download quite a lot of songs. But they will on only play one at a time. How do I get the tracks to play continuously? Yours frustrated Nokia 6233 owner

    Hi frustrated nokia 6233 owner,
I also have a 6233, with cable. I had the same problem where the pc suite would not recognise my phone when it was connected. I tried this solution from another post:
Go to Control Program, Add Or Remove Programs, select PC Nokai Suite, select Support Information, and select Repair. Select PC Connectivity. Select PC Connectivity Solution, select Change, and Select Repair.
The pc suite recognised my phone after that. However, there may be a downside, though it recognises my phone the pc suite functions no longer work. I dont know if that is a seperate problem. Give it a go. I hope it works.
As for music, i'm not sure, sorry. Mine plays all tracks automatically. You may need to check the settings in music player. What format are your music files?
hope i've been of some assitance to you.

  • Error - Cannot connect to the phone

    Hi all,
have had a dig around and couldn't find anything so I hoping that someone can sort me out here.
Ok I have my phone connected to the pc via bluetooth. PC Suite picks up the phone but when I click on the Contacts or Messages (or anything in that window) it comes up with an error message saying "Cannot connect to the phone"
I have checked the list of supported bluetooth stacks and it should be fine. I have also check the phones compatability and this should also be supported. I can also communicate with the phone through the bluetooth software itself.
    Phone: Nokia 6233
    Bluetooth: ITV Bluesoleil 5.0.5
    OS: Windows Vista
Error: Cannot connect to the phone
If you need anymore info or can help me with this problem in anyway, please drop us a line.
    Cheers for all your help

    Exactly same problem.
OS: Windows XP Service Pack 2
    Phone: Nokia 6300
    PC Suite version: 6.85.14.1
BlueSoleil Version: 1.6.1.4 (which should be the version supported by latest PC Suite software version as per Nokia web site).
    Bluetooth USB Adapter: Billionton USBBTC1A-B
I can pair the phone with my PC and transfer files using the BlueSoleil software directly, but every time I try to use anything in the Nokia PC Suite (after pairing and authorizing the phone in PC Suite), I get the "Could not connect to the phone" error.
When using "Help --> About Nokia PC Suite... --> Show System Info" function:
    Operating system:
Microsoft Windows XP 32-bit Edition, Service Pack 2

    - Microsoft (Version: 5.1.2600, Build: 2180)
    PC Connectivity Solution:
    Version 7.37.22.0
Why the only Bluetooth stack detected is the Microsoft one? Why is BlueSoleil stack not detected?
How do I use Microsoft Bluetooth stack (at least to see if my Bluetooth USB Adapter works with it)??
Is this problem going to be solved soon? Is there something I can do without the PC Suite apart from transfering files? I can't edit contacts (save changes) with PC Suite even when the .vcf files are in my PC. Is this intended?
    Thanks.

  • Syncing with Outlook 2002 - Nokia 6233 outlook.ost

Phone is Nokia 6233 syncing with Outlook 2002 on XP and using Exchange Server 2003. I have set the Nokia software to sync every 15 minutes. All users with laptops get a message on screen just before sync saying "Your offline folder file could not be configured .... outlook.ost." You can click through this and it will sync with the PC but I don;t want all my mobile users to have to do this every 15 minutes.
It seems to me that it is trying to sync with the offline folder which is the part that allows mobile users to access Outlook when they are away from the office with up to date as at last time connected to Exchange Server but that is about as far as I have got. Presumably, it is to do with the Send and Receive settings in Outlook as there does not appear to be a solution using Nokia software. Any help if anyone has resolved this would be much appreciated..

I am having similar issues with PC Suite, in particular the PC Sync feature. I am running PC Suite Rev 6.22.82.0 and Outlook 2002 SP3. PC Suite allows me to sync successfully only once after bootup whether in the online of off-line Outlook operating mode. Then if I attempt to sync again I get the error message [Your offline file folder could not be configured....]. When I close down PC Sync, keeping Outlook and the rest of PC Suite running, and then restart PC Sync, I can successfully sync again but only one time. I can sync my Palm with Outlook without similar issues. This tells me that there is a bug in the PC Suite software and not Outlook.
